My wife and I visited this cosy Italian restaurant for dinner during a short stay in Kirkaldy. We enjoyed our meal immensely. The staff were both very friendly and attentive despite them being very busy. Prices for both food and drinks were very reasonable. When we are next in the area, we will definitely make a point of visiting again.

Last minute decision to go to Giovannis. We hadn’t been there for a couple of years. Food was outstanding. I had the Minestrone which you can’t go wrong with, but the real star was the Pollo Agro Dolce. Tremendous. The house wine was so easy drinking as well. Great family run restaurant with a cosy vibe and warm and friendly staff. Kids loved it, wife loved it we will definitely be back.

Group of 4 dined on a Sunday evening for an anniversary celebration. Unfortunately, the steak and veal dishes weren't available due to being a chef short. Still, the Early Evening Menu offered a good variety of traditional Italian food and it was served in reasonably sized portions (not the mountains of food that can sometimes put you off!). The ice creams went down particularly well with our party. Waiting staff were friendly and helpful and happy to deal with children. Very reasonably priced for the selection offered.

Last minute decision to go for tea with a couple of friends. We booked for 5.30 and ate off the "Early Bird" menu. Two of us had the lasagne, which I could only describe as tasteless.. a very small portion of layers of pasta swimming in the middle of some kind of watery sauce.. not recognisable as lasagne! We did complain and were told the manager would come and speak to us. Unfortunately that didn't happen and after our complaint we felt as if we were dismissed by the staff.. who up to that time had been very friendly.. our service and attitude from staff changed. . A small apology from the manager would have gone a long way but not to be! No recompense for the food, paid the full amount, and no friendly goodbye! Won't be back!

Sadly a very disappointing evening. 2 ladies chose lasagne. It was floating pasta basically in a tasteless sauce. They did complain. However no management came to discuss. We still had to pay in full. Really feel that someone could have recompensed in a small way? We do appreciate they were short staffed and no chef as such? But it’s ok to come out to say that. …. No apologies from management. Expensive night out for food I could have cooked better. Always try to support locally but this was very disappointing tonight.

Manuel and the team run a great authentic Italian eatery here- something on the menu for everyone. Great selection of drinks too. Gets busy, book ahead- fixed price menu 5-7pm looked great value- but the a la carte is very reasonable.

Booked for anniversary and arrived to be told about one third of menu was not available . Waited 50 minutes for order to be served which was average to say the least. Did not pay a tip and i honestly can not remember the last time this was the case . Will not be back

Haven't been for years but it didn't disappoint. Food was fabulous and the staff very attentive. Nothing was a problem. Decor is bright and airy and welcoming Definitely recommend

WELL . This is a MUST try place . The staff go above and beyond and the food is OUTSTANDING . All the food is bursting with flavour and hits the spot every time. We had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. Everything from the home-made bread to the ice cream is a FABULOUS taste tingling experience. Highly RECOMMENDED.

Brilliant service in a restaurant that deserves more customers! We enjoyed a fantastic dinner following the Black Rock 5 race at Kinghorn. The waitress could not have been more friendly or helpful, and we can highly recommend the house pizza! Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

Visited during an overnight stay in Kirkcaldy as it was nearby to our accommodation and recommended by one of our group. Giovanni's did not disappoint. We had a wee mix up with our order which resulted in the wrong dish being served for one of our group. The poor waitress was so apologetic, she was obviously very concerned about it. It was easily rectified when we swapped dishes with each other as it was not her fault in the slightest. One of our party had not heard her properly during ordering (our fault, not hers) We kept reassuring the waitress as she kept checking to see if we were fine. Never caught her name, but would like to thank her again for her service. Will most definitely visit again if In Kirkcaldy.

We visited Giovannis on a Saturday night, having booked a table for 7pm we were kept in the waiting area until after 7.30, the waiting area is right at the front door, so very cold with other customers coming in and out. After being shown to our table there was no apologies for the wait, we then had another 15 minute wait for anyone to come and get a drinks order and even longer waiting for it to arrive at the table. We eventually got our starter 1hour and 15 minutes after the original time we had booked for. We could not fault the food however a simple sorry for the wait we endured would have been appreciated

My husband and I visited along with the in-laws for a birthday meal. On arrival a manager asked, rather shortly, if we had booked a table. Although we had, she certainly gave the impression that it would have been a problem otherwise. Anyway, we all ate from the early evening menu which was really good value at 3 courses for £15. The portions were large and food tasty. I particularly enjoyed my verde tortellini! The disappointing thing was the cost of the drinks!! We will definitely go back but maybe just have soft drinks to lower the bill!

Overall, the food was good and prices reasonable. However slow service and poor decor means I just cant give it a 4 out of 5.

I have eaten here many many times and the food is excellent even though some dishes have changed over the years. But my favourite beef lasagne has changed from brilliant to poor. Tried it twice to make sure but recipe has changed . My wife had the fish stew and that was excellent. I love some of there other dishes but going to have to try elsewhere for lasagne.

I was working in Kirkcaldy with 4 colleagues from England. Giovanni's was recommended by locals. We arrived at what looks like a pop up - no fuss, nothing fancy, very underwhelming. However, the food was fabulous. The service was friendly and effecient. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Can not fault anything. 16 of us and service was faultless and the food was even better!!!!!! Highly recommended for an evening meal.

I have been a customer of this establishment since the 80s , although they are not Italian people , they sure can deliver a fantastic Italian meal . Never dissapointed and highly recommend the prawn cocktails or a double as I always get when I go, the garlic bread with cheese and the Pizza Don Giovanni is the best pizza I have ever tasted in my life, an I have tried a few. If you want to taste exceptional food , served from a lovely family atmosphere then this is the place to go exceptional.

We have been going to this restaurant for years. Menu not changed much including the specials lol. Great food/wine and very friendly. Thought I would never get over the demise of the cannelloni carne( you would have needed to have eaten here as as long as i have to get it) but have recovered and continue to love this place. Service can be a bit slow but surely down to its popularity. Cannot go wrong eating here.

Amazing customer service from the waitresses, bar staff, and a woman who I am guessing was the owner. Food was hot and so good. Portion sizes were bigger than we expected, so much that we couldn't eat it all. One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. Would definitely return.

this is a very nice restaurant but it has a very slow serving time we have been twice now and the food is good but it takes a long time from being seated to getting something on the table. two and a half hours is just to long. maybe getting another chief in would do the trick. we like to be in and out in under one and a half hours then we can do other things. staff were great just too slow.

Great family friendly restaurant. Smallish space but good quality food. Lots of people seem to go on a regular basis. Friendly staff and a very relaxed atmosphere.

Most people will of course argue that as far as Italian food goes it is the best and simples to cook. From the minute you walk through the door staff will show you the most professional attitude. Drinks are ordered at the table. Menus are often three courses but restaurant offers pre theatre meals at highly affordable rates.Staff are always presentable and very well mannered and will strive for the highest standards. Waiting is very prompt and speedy will not long till your food arrives. And what a treat it is too. Food is always the best and sure to have you begging for more. Portion sizes should satisfy just bout everyone. My wife and I were in Giovannis last Friday . I had fillet steak and my wife had an Italian dish . As always the standard of food was excellent. The steak is cooked to perfection and price remains competitive,treat yourself , it's service with a smile and the food is excellent.

Went to giovannis for dinner a few months back... my daughter got the penne pasta with cheese which she loved. Mines was also lovely the mushrooms for starter and chicken for main. The staff were nice.

After hearing mixed reviews about this place, we decided to give it a try.We ate off a mix of the "Early Bird" and normal menu.The staff were very friendly, and helpful.Whilst the food tasted ok, it was not great by any means.It was also very clear that the "Early bird" menu was in fact just lesser portions than the normal menu, with no bread being served with the soup and the lasagne actually just a very small bowl of lasagne, and nothing else. A nice place, and very friendly staff let down by disappointing food. Would not recommend.

Ive been here twice. The 1st time I got a basic pasta which was really lovely however I went last night and was quite disappointed.I got a bolognaise but as soon as the plate was put down I could tell it was not a real Italian. It was more like a British bolognaise which I can tell being Italian. The flavor wasn't great and I left disappointed but the menu is good, staff are wonderful and the prices are good. Good for a little meal but not real Italian cooking.

Visited last night for my niece's birthday. All the food was excellent and the staff were incredibly attentive despite our lateness and slowness. Highly recommended and I'll be back with my wife who didn't get a chance to stay for the meal.

Early menu, Ok so the menu was a bit limited regarding choice compared to the full menu, but what we had was 100% spot on! Traditionally my granny said "you get what you pay for" but I'd challenge anyone to be unhappy with the fayre and value on offer on at Gio's.

Favourite place for Italian food, aubergine bake is by far the best dish I have tasted! Friendly and super cute little place!

Had a good news celebration meal here. Excellent choice of courses to be had and we could not fault anything that was served up. The restaurant soon filled up with families and couples. We shall be back some day no doubt.

Group of 12 all served drink's within. Minutes of arriving, then second drink, then we managed to order food and a third drink , fifth drink by the time we got food which is ok standard fare, serving staff had a very dry sense of humor which i enjoyed others in the group found them offensive.

Quickly seated table for four. Fine selection of wine and great variety of dishes for veggies and carnivores. Fast service. Had calzone pizza again and always 5 star. Very reasonably priced. Great staff team, clean amenities, easy parking. What's not to like?

9 of us visited here early evening - 5 adults and 4 kids. They loved the kids and didn't mind the craziness that comes with taking 4 kids under the age of 5 out for dinner, in fact they positively encouraged it. Simple menu but it is a bit like being wrapped in a warm blanket. They look after you, feed you well and it is a very good price. It's not the best Italian I have ever been too but the staff and the warm blanket feeling make up for that. I love it and whenever I visit Kirkcaldy I will always try and include a visit here,

My fiancé, friend, her husband and I went for dinner here last night. The company was great, the food was top rate - by far the best Italian meal we've had in Kirkcaldy... but the best thing about it was the service. The 2 ladies who were serving were the sweetest. Would 100% go back and recommend it to anyone who enjoys Italian food and a cheeky limoncello :)

This place is an offence to all italian people, really, italian food has got nothing to do with this place. I was here on a night out with my colleagues and unfortunately our boss is obsessed with Italian food... well. Unfortunately I'm italian and one look at the menu made it clear what I got myself into. We enquired about the pasta, obviously not fresh. Same for pizza. The rest (meat and fish) are outrageously expensive so I went for pizza. Oh why. My boss reassured me "never had a bad meal here". Right. To be honest, the mussels were good but the pizza... oh my... get an Aldi one, or any greasy takeaway one, it'll still be better. Everything was wrong about it. The base was deep fried and soggy, the tomato sauce tasteless, the topping incredibly salty and scarce.Stay away from this place, if you want an edible pizza in Kirkcaldy I highly recommend Marino's la passione.

I have visited this restaurant for many years, but due to moving to England for University and then my job, I haven't been for quite a while. I went back with my parents on Saturday and the food was as delicious as ever. It's definitely one of the best Italian's I have eaten at in the UK. The food tastes so fresh and tasty, and the portion sizes are perfect. The service is friendly and attentive, and to top it all off it's such good value for money too. I will definitely be returning whenever I am home visiting.

This restaurant has great quality food with delicious home cooked sauces. The staff are very friendly and it has a homely feel. The 'specials' are always a bonus to a already varied menu - my favourite!

Giovannis is back to it's best after being a bit hit or miss a couple of years ago. The pasta and pizza are excellent and very reasonable priced. The staff are always friendly and prompt, it feels like a welcoming family run business. Now a staple for family get togethers.

Food was good but took 50 minutes to be served and then took another 30 minutes to bring out starters and had a very long wait between meals. I picked this restaurant for my birthday meal and had it booked for 7pm and there was only a few tables in and we had to ask where our food was as was taking a long time.

Fantastic fresh food, staff lovely what more can you ask for. Also noticed on the way out that they do a children's menu too.

This is really the worse Italian Restaurant I have ever been to. There is no atmosphere, the décor is atrocious, plastic tables, chairs and table coverings. Food well below average. Don't waste your money

We were seated right next to the door which meant that every time someone came in we were greeted with an unpleasant breeze of cold air and the sound of bells hanging above the door. We waited approx. 30 minutes for our starter and another 40 minutes on top of that for our mains. We arrived at around half 6 and didn't leave until 20 past 8. I understand that it was a Saturday night but the restaurant wasn't big, it was however understaffed. It's a shame really because the first time my mother has visited she really liked the experience. Food was ok, nothing special.

I was really disappointed to day, as I am in bed with a chest infection, I was going with my sister in law out for lunch to Giovannis for her birthday, but I was to un well so did not manage, I had booked this several weeks ago for 4 people. However the other 3 went, and when they got there the place was closed, On phoning up later to see how things went she told me what had happened one of the girls only had an hour for lunch as she was working. On phoning Giovannis all they said was they were not opening at 1.00 as I had booked and that they had tried phoning me, I knew that could have been true as I have been in bed the last few days when they repeated the number they had 759152 which is not my number, all I got was SORRY i am glad I did not get out of my bed to day and probably stay here until next year

Six of us had a wonderful dining experience at Giovannis on the Saturday before Christmas. The atmosphere was very convivial and the food was absolutely out of this world. There were many things that impressed us - the quality of the food, the friendliness and efficiency of the staff and the very varied menu. The food and wine were reasonably priced and would cater for most people's budget. We will definitely go back and rate this restaurant as good as many top Edinburgh restaurants. Well done Giovannis!

When we visit family we always visit Giovanni's at least one evening during our trip (twice this time) and we are never disappointed. They are such a hard working, attentive little team and make everyone very welcome. The food is homely and very family friendly, suiting a wide range of tastes from small children to grandparents and everyone in between. It's ideal for larger groups of friends too although it's not a big restaurant.

Was a few years since I visited this wonderful restaurant and forgot just how lovely the food and staff are. I visited on Tuesday evening with my husband and a very good friend. A lovely quaint establishment where the staff/owners could not be more polite and welcoming. The food is definately as delicious as I remember. I used to visit quite regularly and always had a wonderful dining experience. Cant believe I left it so long since my last visit. We will definately be back soon for some yummy food n wonderful service. Definately worth a visit.

I had high expectations judging by trip advisor and word of mouth but I was hugely disappointed. I came in with an open mind and had mussels for starters and tagliatelle king prawn for main. Mussels had a sauce that was more like tomato tinned soup than a tomato sauce. The tagliatelle king prawn was a prawn substitute rather than a king prawn and if I'm honest the tagliatelle was more like a flat noodle. Im not even going to start on the gone off red wine carafe. All three starters and mains cost us 96 pound. I will NEVER BE going back. It's a shame bacauce apparently it was once the place to go.

Four of us out for a meal on Friday night. I had perfectly cooked steak with the most amazing Diane sauce. Nothing is too much trouble for the team. Great food, great atmosphere, great staff!

Husband and i came here for tea and had the 3 course menu. Great value for money. We both had the cream of red pepper soup which was truly amazing, followed by a pasta dish and then some gateau which was too much and we couldnt finish. Staff were prompt and friendly without being in your face. Wew will be back and would recommend it highly.

It had been a while since I had visited and on my return they didn't let me down. I love the polo caciatore but I have a couple of things taken out. They always do this with a smile. Never a problem. Spend some time there, hang out and talk to the family of owners.

First time here , usually go to more Central Italian restaurants when looking for an Italian. Certainly won't rush back. service was fine but quality of food was not good & very small portions. I had a seafood pasta & wife had a Pizza. as said portions very small compared to other places in Kirkcaldy & Pizza did not come sliced or even offered to slice. Had a beer which was flat, wine selection for Rose Wine was poor.

Visited this restaurant with my girlfriend, we had been before and had a wonderful meal so decided to return.My girlfriend eats here more regularly than me so had aruro ravioli which was excellent as ever.Last time I had the four cheese tortelloni with the cheese sauce which was cooked to perfection, this time I had the chicken breast in creamy pepper sauce and it was utterly outstanding. The fries were clearly fresh and very good quality, the chicken was the same and cooked perfectly, but the sauce was something else altogether, it was far and away the best peppercorn sauce I have ever tasted and quite possibly the best sauce I have ever tasted.Excellent food, excellent service, keep up the good work!
