Giorgio's Italian in Chesterfield

Although the food was ok there were a couple of issues of overcharging on the bill , which I didn't pick up on immediately, I went back the next day with the bill and challenged them and in all fairness they refunded me for what they'd overcharged , the trust has gone now though and we won't be back which is a shame really, make sure you scrutinise your bill would be my advice.

Food horrible, when i complained been told everyone likes it !!! Owner steve absolutely think that he knows everything and customers dont know nothing !!! Wont be back ever to owner with attitude like this !!!!

Honestly the best restaurant in chesterfield. Food is always beautiful, fresh and warm. Speedy and efficient service, wasn’t waiting to be seated or served. Polite and welcoming staff! A gem of Chesterfield.

First visit to this lovely and lively Italian restaurant we had a lovely meal, service was good and friendly would certainly recommend it and will return. They had a brilliant menu for Gluten free .

How much this place has gone down hill from the last time we came here . Service was poor , had a meatball starter was horrible and dry then for the mains we had calzone what had nothing in it hardly and tasted awful . When i complained nothing they could do but the 17 year old manger was happy to give me attitude though . apparently she checks all the food when it comes out but obviously not a taste test as i would not serve that a rat . It was that shocking i have made an account just to leave a review . My advice would be do not have teenagers running a restaurant with clearly no experience or customer service skills . I know this has happened to couple people who have eaten at this restaurant recently. The trouble is it’s a small town and the word gets about hopefully very soon .

Our Mother’s Day family meal was the best ever! From the moment we arrived the staff was so attentive and welcoming, We had some drinks around the bar and then got seated by a lovely waitress, I was so impressed by all the choices available on the menu especially with the vegan menu as this is so hard to find in many other places. Food was delicious, I had prawn risotto and my husband had calzone with the bolognese which he said it was to die for. It was 10 of us and even though the restaurant was so busy we felt that everything was done on time, there were plenty of staff serving everyone with a beautiful smile. When ordering our bill we did notice that a 10% optional service charged was added to the bill which we understand that many restaurants do already add this on and we were more than happy to leave it as service was second to none! A big thank You to all Giorgio’s team for a great dinner we can’t wait to be back in three weeks time with all the family and also thank you for booking us again!

Fabulous meal, friendly attentive staff. Very busy but didnt have to wait too long for food to arrive . Waitress was prompt with the drinks order when we were seated . Would definitely return. Enjoyable evening.

Not sure why there are bad reviews on here, 3rd time in a month eating here and food seems to get better and better. Arrived for our 2pm reservation to a full restaurant and only had to wait around 10 minutes to be seated, not much the staff could do while waiting politely for other customers to leave. Mussels to start were exceptional and my salmon tagliatelle was delicious. No complaints from our table of 9 - would highly recommend. Staff always polite and attentive, nothing seems to be much too much trouble. Our go to restaurant for sure - thanks Giorgio’s for a lovely afternoon

I have no complaints about the food as we all had a lovely meal but the big round table we were sat at was very wobbly which annoyed us througout our meal. Also there was nothing on the table when we arrived, no decor, place settings, menus ect it just seemed very sad and depressing when we were there to celebrate mothers day. They could have added some flowers, a candle and had the cutlery out. The restaurant overall lacks personality and atmosphere and is in need of a makeover. The young staff were friendly but they were stood about chatting a lot in the bar area when customers were wanting to order/pay ect. I enjoyed the food but wouldn't rush back to eat there again.

The table was booked for 5pm group of 7 people. Soon as we had gotten there, the restaurant had just opened, therefore it was very very cold inside and felt I couldn’t take my jacket off! Once being at the table, it had taken over half an hour to take our order, with other tables coming in after and being served with food before we even had ordered!! Food was below average to say the least! I am Italian and food was not presented very well at all and had no thought to it. The main meals were not to the best standards, cold when served and one meal was completely wrong!!! This however was resolved and the correct order was provided. It was an average place to eat, if you want an Italian restaurant… I would not recommend this place, as this is certainly not the Italian ways of cooking or presenting food!! Overall, very poor restaurant! I will not be recommending this place or going again, it was very disappointing.

Worst Mother’s Day meal for everyone. I don’t write reviews but my god this one is needed. Me and my husband has bruschetta and ribs to share. All the meat on the ribs was just fat, the bruschetta was like cheese on toast with bits of diced tomato. Nothing Italian about it at all. Mains husband had calzone didn’t taste right and was hardly any filling. I paid £25 for sirloin steak, it came with 3 bits of cucumber, a tiny lettuce leaf, new potatos that had 100% come out of a tin from aldi and warmed up, the peas and carrots was swimming in oil so couldn’t eat them (same with potatos) . Asked for my steak medium to well done, came cremated, hard and chewy. Ordered a side of fries and was served homemade chunky chips which again tasted like oil and grease. They should have said they dont do fries when I ordered them, £5.50 for oily potato. We was a table of 7 and nearly all had chips, no one ate them. 3 people who had the calzone left nearly all of it. My daughter enjoyed her children’s spag bol, my son enjoyed the chicken but didn’t touch his chips and he eats everything. Drinks was forgotten when we ordered them on a few different orders, food came in waves with a big gap inbetween so we all ate at different times. 2 meals came then about 10mins later a few more came. The quality of the food was awful massively gone down hill. We spent £210 on food that tasted cheap. We raised our concerns after the meal but the so called manager wasn’t interested at all so we paid and left. Attitude and just not giving a damn is why your restaurant was very empty on a busy day. Last Mother’s Day when we came the place was rammed, today there was loads of tables empty and besides us I think there was about 5 other tables Occupied. Very quiet for Mother’s Day and going to a restaurant at dinner time. The staff aren’t great, like they haven’t got time For you, not massively friendly and welcoming. Got home and threw up due to how oily the food was.

3rd time in a month visiting this amazing restaurant for celebrations. Every time the service has been fantastic and the food amazing, definitely our go to for a treat out.

From the moment we walked in, we knew this would be good. The team were attentive, smiling and naturally helpful. Food was good, atmosphere was good and prices on par with similar restaurants. Well done you guys.

Slow service . You have to spend a tenner minimum to purchase a drink at the bar with debit card . The girl behind the bar refused to split the bill for us even tho we were 5 couples with kids and no one carries cash anymore !!! Allin all the food was very nice but the way this place is run doesn't make it a pleasurable experience .

We have visited Giorgio's regularly for a number of years, which speaks volumes of how great this restaurant is. The food is always superb, freshly cooked and with an extensive menu, there is plenty to choose from. Great atmosphere, with friendly and professional staff 👌

We visit on various days (Except Tues & Wednesday obviously) Half price pasta and pizza is available on Sunday & Monday and with respect it can be very busy on those two days, so patience is a virtue. I can't recommend Giorgio's highly enough, it's one of the best Italian restaurants in Chesterfield. ❤️🇮🇹

Food ok , disappointed with staff attitude after being told to quieten down with my one to one conversation with a friend , the place was packed out and there was a lot of noise but I felt singled out on having a one to one with a friend for having a loud voice , I explained I had a hearing impediment and wear a hearing aid and not aware of my volume ( although I felt the surrounding volume was much higher than my one to one ) however I was not met with any leave way over my disability , we were a party of 25 and felt I needed to leave immediately as I was so upset , never again

What mixed emotions following our evening meal. The food? It was delicious. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed our meal. However the service didn't match the work of the kitchen. We were shown to our table at exactly 7:30pm. We decided not to have a starter and it was lucky we went straight to a main dish. The reason being we sat patiently for more than 20 minutes to place our order then finally had to request to do so. Our first mouthful of food passed our lips at 8:30pm. One hour from being seated until we started eating! A couple of the younger staff were friendly and engaging but some others less so. However the final bug-bear was the addition of a service charge of £17.00 added to our £170.00+ bill. Using the word "discretionary" is insulting given it was added to the bill without our knowledge. Wanting to give a tip to one of the friendly staff it was she that pointed out the service charge. The proprietor needs to realise (in my humble opinion) that such high standards shown by the kitchen needs to be equalled by the service staff. Then your prices would be truly justified.

Came here a few months ago and had a poor experience, waited over an hour for some bread and olives, but decided to give it another try, I had the prawns and calamari for starter, the prawns were over cooked on a bed of 6 pieces of greenery. For main I had linguine which wouldn’t feed a toddler, dessert seemed to be the only decent thing. I asked for the bill at 8:30, didn’t get any sort of acknowledgment, then asked another 2 waitresses again to no avail, upon looking over at the counter seeing 4 waitresses all stood on their phones and after 40 minutes of waiting for the bill I had to go to the counter to pay. Overall not a good experience both times I’ve visited

After not visiting for a while we went for a celebration, food was fabulous, nice atmosphere. We had a great time and look forward to a return visit.

Very good first experience… As vegans that love pizza (one of us is in fact Italian) we are always eager to try anything remotely-vegan and tasty/ authentic on our doorstep, this place did not disappoint !!! The feel and decor of the place was nice and cosy and relaxed, the waitresses are very attentive and not in short supply, very good service. The vegan options are plentiful and the vegan cheese was tasty!!! Even the girl making pizza seemed to be enjoying herself. Which is a good sign!!! As Happy staff=good pizza. Was great to have vegan dessert options too!!! Would be great to perhaps see vegan pepperoni or vegan-meats going forwards. Throughly enjoyably experience!! Keep it up :) We will return x

We went on Sunday the 4th of February 19 of us in total to celebrate my son's 16th birthday and could not fault it. Great food on time, hot and very tasty, nothing was too much trouble. The service was really good amongst the chaos of us all there. Will be back!

Have visited on numerous occasions when visiting family & I can honestly say the food here is excellent & thoroughly recommended but be aware if you want to guarantee a table book in advance !

Absolutely appalling!! It was freezing and the radiator by the window was switched off. After several ignored requests, one of our party turned the radiator on themselves. It didn’t make a lot of difference. Some of the party sat in their coats. We got there at 6.30pm and eventually received our meals, almost two hours later, at 8.20pm!! I ordered chicken & vegetables and was served chicken and salad. The waitress assured me that the vegetables were on their way. After waiting a while, I got up and asked the waitress again. She was curt to the point of rudeness.

Taking advantage of the Monday food offer. Fabulous muscles and lovely pizza and pasta. Highly recommended and great value on a Sunday or Monday.

Always been happy with Giorgio's and the food again was great I do however take exception at them now adding 10% to the bill for service. The tip is supposed to reflect how happy you are with the service and not a way to support the wages bill. I know that you can ask, and embarrass yourself, by asking that the 10% be removed but the charge is presumptive by the owners. Bad move !!

Had lovely evening for my daughters birthday, food very good, server's, also good, little slow on drinks at the table but thats ok,we asked to move tables as there was a draft from doors only to be moved near the window and then was told the heating is not on and it was o degrees outside and nearly every customer sat with there coats on that's the real only complaint is you shouldn't have to sit with a coat on to have a dinning out experience

Would have been a 5 rating had the draft Moretti been available and I couldn't give a 4.7! The salmon tagliatelle was fantastic. Will definitely return

Service was very poor and food took 45 mins to arrive which was surprising when others were being seated and receiving their meals first. No sign posting about food delay. Food eventually arrived after us asking about delay and it was mediocre. To make matters worse, they applied another customers drinks bill to our bill which I only noticed when I got home. Mistakes happen so I wasn't too concerned but what did concern me was their total lack of interest in sorting it and arrogance. I chased a couple of times for one week and they said they would have to check CCTV and would do this when they had time as November is a busy month! This response I could not quite believe and they clearly never had any intention of correcting their mistake. If I had the time to stand outside with a banner telling people not to go in I would as its the least they deserve. Do yourself a favour and visit somewhere else for your meal and save yourself any undue hassle as clearly there is a practice going on here loading customer bills for items they had not consumed and hoping they just pay it without noticing like I did.

We have been to Georgia’s many times and always had fabulous food and service, last night we were celebrating my sons 13th birthday. Despite it being a school night we wanted to make memories. We arrived at 6pm to a very cold restaurant- we all kept our coats on throughout our stay. Our drinks came promptly with a lovely smiling waitress who took our food orders. Our food eventually came one hour later - at 7.10pm. By now we were starving, conscious of the time for homework to still be done so irritable and still freezing cold. When our pizzas finally arrived they were cold and all of the bases very soggy, the garlic bread was sat on a pool of cold oil. We asked for our food to be warmed up which took another 20 minutes, by now we had lost the euphoria of the occasion and our evening had fallen flat. The waitresses and lady who was making the pizzas had no ‘front of house’ service, no smiles absolutely not a rush in them, no apologies given, no offer of parmesan we had to ask for some. It was the most lack lustre, flat, unwelcoming and cold visit to any restaurant I have been to. Then if the above wasn’t enough a £22 service charge was added to our bill which of course we didn’t pay! This will be out last visit ever to this restaurant, a huge let down, incredibly disappointing needless to say only negative memories made.

This was my first time visiting and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of gluten free options available. It's been a long time since I have been to a restaurant and been able to choose from almost the entire menu. The food was amazing and I didn't feel I was missing out by eating gluten free

Food on the whole was delicious very disappointed in the biscotti which was stale and bland. The rest of the food was good. Service was poor waited nearly a about a hour for food which isn't the worst but even getting a drink was really difficult

Me and my wife went here 6 weeks ago and went with my wifes granddaughter and her boyfriend on her 22nd birthday,it was our 1st time and it was lovely,the food service everything,yesterday was our 12th wedding anniversary so I booked it for us & guess what,it was great what a little gem this Italian restaurant is,I really do recommend anyone to go here it's as our granddaughter says 'the best'.

The wait not only to order but also to get our food came to a total of an hour and 20 minutes. Then when the food came the pizza was soggy and the pasta was mediocre at best.

Half price pizza and pasta is not clearly evident. It is not stated in the menu online or on the board outside that it has to be PER HEAD! After much discussion with a member of staff this was not resolved. I am extremely disappointed with our visit and will not be returning. The manager was also present, which I was informed of by my husband once we had left, she didn’t come over once during the dispute, this I feel is very poor management. This restaurant needs to work on ensuring the customer is always right and leaves happy.

My husband and I came here for our 7th wedding anniversary, and omg, the food was amazing, and the staff were all lovely , i would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Italian food.

Restaurant rather bland but that made up for the quality of food. The pizzas were the best outside Italy. Absolutely perfect with choice of toppings. Linguini very tasty. Gave into temptation and had the tiramisu- best ever! Overall, fabulous and can’t wait to go back. Service excellent staff friendly 😀

Wedding reception. What to say, first time have been. Place, staff, owner, food, service excellent. Cooking of the food was perfection. Waitressing second to none, owner was around, making sure everyone happy, checking with the staff also. The whole experience was so good. I still had happy face this morning. We told him and his staff on the way out but great to see in writing too. Fab

Went for half price pizza and pasta on a Sunday, honestly it was awful, bland food, just generally not nice at all. Disappointing as normally Italian is hard to beat. Won’t be going again.

Went as a group of 4, firstly the foods great, which is the main reason to go back, salmon is fantastic. The place is nice even if it lacks atmosphere, the staff are pretty ignorant and the 10% tip is included in the bill, found that out after I'd already left one, bit cheeky. I'd go more but there are better places to eat and enjoy

We've been to Giorgio's a number of times now. Each time has been better than the last! The food is amazing, portions are generous and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Our last visit was a Sunday evening and was extremely busy, we had to wait 15 minutes after our reservation to be seated, but the staff were very apologetic about the wait. Short of actually kicking customers out they really couldn't do much. We still very much enjoyed our evening there and will definitely be back in the future.

Wow, this was such a surprise, the food was 1st class. Worthy of a 5 star London or Manchester restaurant, the food was exceptional, the staff were very knowledgeable about their food (makes a change from the staff running to the kitchen for answers) ,...

Since our last visit a 10% gratuity is automatically being added to the bill. You can ask for this to be removed but this seems to cause confusion when paying. I always tip but do not like being told how much I should tip. Should you tip more for ordering the most expensive menu items? The food was good but not exceptional, more seasoning was needed. The staff were very pleasant but overall the service was slow. As for the atmosphere it was very busy so fairly noisy as you would expect.

Tasty food and generous portions. Staff are helpful but can sometimes feel like slow service when busy. Can be tricky to park we usually park round the back on an industrial road if can't find space on the road.

There were 3 adults and 2 children in our party. The food was reasonable but the service was appalling. We waited 40 minutes for our starters and a further 40 mins for our mains. When our mains arrived I had to ask for the cutlery as we did not have any. The children we bored and fed up. The waitresses just ignored us and during the long wait between courses it even took over 10 minutes to bring a single drink. To cap a miserable night after checking the bill I found out we were charged £7 for a "gratuity" . This was our first visit for a few years and it will be our last.

Had a great night here with friends, and it was also two for one pizza/pasta night, which was a bonus. We met at 7:00pm, and the place was buzzing, quite noisy and very busy. Despite this, staff were fairly quick to take our order, and bring our drinks. We had a seafood pasta & a four seasons pizza, then yummy profiteroles and classic tiramisu.The food came in good time, and was really good. A great experience and I'd recommend Giorgio's.

Went with my friends on saturday and got sat right by the woodfire pizza oven, which added to the atmosphere. I ordered the seafood risotto and was pleasantly surprised. We were served by the waitress Holly, who made us feel very welcome.

Shocking. Went for a party of 19 which was pre booked. They had all 19 of us stood blocking the entrance for 30 minutes because we had no table,Nobody said a word and we were stood waiting around until they finally seated us. We finally...

Slow service, took a while to take drinks orders ,brought diet cola , should have been full fat without ice , changed it, and brought it with ice. Food nice, but we would not return due to service, staff not over friendly ,some didn't smile

We had a pleasant evening. The portions were large and the food i would rate as 'good' but would have benefitted from extra seasoning. (capri chicken very good but wouldn't recommend the chips ) The restaurant was busy and we were 'encouraged' to leave as soon as we had eaten and so on that basis, can't give more than a 3.

Local Italian restaurant. Good starter and dessert, I was let down by a poor carbonara, although the pizzas and other mains looked good. Excellent service. Would if given it 4 stars had it not been for my main.

Great food, very busy, lovely service

Went for a meal tonight and there was no heating on in this place (I checked the radiators & told them this) It was freezing & I had to sit eating a meal with my fur coat on! Staff were not bothered. My Calzone was ok but my friends Spag bol wasn't the best & lacked sauce. Not one person asked if our food was ok. We could not wait to get out the place.

Delicious food, speedy service, wonderful staff. Amazing price. Large menu. Recommend try this fabulous restaurant
