Attended this restaurant for a special family occasion as we have been before and loved it. Service from the get go was awful, it took 15 minutes before our drink orders were taken and a further 20 minutes before our food order was taken. Our mains took nearly 2 hours to come out and there wasn't so much as an apology from the server for the long wait. We had to flag down a staff member to ask for another round of drinks and when they eventually turned up one of the beers was 3 months out of date and was served with a dirty glass, another glass still had lipstick stains on it from the previous customer. When this was brought to the attention of our server there was no apology or mention of the issues other than a "no problem" when asked to replace the drink. Both the starters and mains arrived at the table staggered with one person getting their main and the rest of the table having to wait 20 minutes before their food arrived. Our starters arrived lukewarm and cold, suggesting that it was left under the heat lamp for a while or just forgotten about. One of the mains that was served was practically cold when it hit the table meaning it wasn't finished and not enjoyed. The food itself was good but would have been better had it been at a decent temperature for consumption. When our meals were finished we had to make our way to the front of the restaurant to pay as it was clear that no one was coming to us to check on us or to bring the bill. When the issues mentioned were brought to the attention of the manager at the end of the meal there was no apology and absolutely no sign of remorse or any accountability for the abysmal service. When asked to remove the service charge we were asked "why?". When explained the "manager" did not make eye contact with anyone from our party nor did they apologise for the poor service, cold food and out of date drinks. Just overall abysmal service that left us with bad taste in our mouths and extremely disappointed. Unfortunately this will be the last time we visit this restaurant as the whole experience was completely ruined by the horrible service.

Vasos sucios, cerveza obsoleta, comida fría y sin servicio cohesivo, con una espera de dos horas para que nos sirvan nuestra red. La gerente tenía una actitud absolutamente vergonzosa, sin disculpas ni disposición incluso a escuchar comentarios, obviamente no podía importarle menos la satisfacción del cliente. También era extremadamente poco profesional, con una camisa sucia puesta, sirviendo mesas mientras sostenía órdenes para llevar bajo el brazo y recibos en la boca. Asistimos a este restaurante para una ocasión familiar especial como hemos estado antes y nos encantó. El servicio desde el principio fue horrible, tomó 15 minutos antes de que se tomaran nuestros pedidos de bebidas y otros 20 minutos antes de que se tomara nuestro pedido de comida. Nuestra red tardó casi 2 horas en salir y no había tanto como una disculpa del servidor por la larga espera. Tuvimos que marcar a un miembro del personal para pedir otra ronda de bebidas y cuando finalmente aparecieron una de las cervezas estaba 3 meses fuera de fecha y se sirvió con un vaso sucio, otro vaso todavía tenía manchas de lápiz labial en el cliente anterior. Cuando esto fue puesto en conocimiento de nuestro servidor no hubo disculpas o mención de los problemas, aparte de un "no hay problema" cuando se le pidió que reemplazara la bebida. Tanto los entrantes como los principales llegaron a la mesa escalonados con una persona recibiendo su principal y el resto de la mesa teniendo que esperar 20 minutos antes de que llegara su comida. Came here for a special family occasion and could not have been more disappointed. The most inadequate customer service we have ever received, had to request for waiters to even acknowledge our table. Dirty glasses, out of date beer, cold food and no cohesive service, with a two hour wait to be served our mains. The manager had an absolutely disgraceful attitude, no apology or willingness to even listen to feedback, she obviously couldn't care less about customer satisfaction. She was extremely unprofessional as well, with a dirty shirt on, serving tables while holding takeaway orders under her arm and receipts in her mouth. She was rude and dismissive, used being busy as an excuse when the restaurant clearly wasn't, and didn't even have the sense or manners to apologise for anything. The food itself was good, and this is why the restaurant has been a favourite of ours, but the abysmal service tonight has lost all of us as returning customers, won't be back.

Service was pretty bad: No one took our order for 15 minutes (this was for drinks) and when they did take our drinks order, we were ready to order for food which she said she was too busy to take…and so we had to wait another 10 minutes before someone came to get our food order. Visité este restaurante con mi novia para una cena de cumpleaños. Para empezar, tuvimos costillas de ternera y ensalada de algas marinas, y para nuestra alimentación tuvimos Teriyaki Udon y carne de ternera Curry Udon. Todos estos platos eran excelentes, y los recomendaría encarecidamente. Got a takeout chicken katsu curry and when I opened my rice, I was in shock with how little I got especially since sides are not included in the price for this meal. With this much rice for this portion size of chicken, I find this overall experience/service stingy. I also received two pieces of potatoes and carrots which is very hardly anything for this meal. The rice was even in lumps too. Not worth the price.

Arrived to the restaurant around 7pm on Sunday. Staff was incredibly rude and not knowledgeable about the menu. We were asked to pay the bill while we were still eating full portions of sushi rolls. Some of us wanted dessert but after seeing this behaviour we thought it would be best to get it somewhere else and that they wanted us to leave. The restaurant was also almost empty and therefore not busy. So there was no reason to rush us and provide awful service. Because of the service, we asked the waiter if it was possible to remove service charge from the bill. I would like to specify all of us normally tip when eating out but we were very disappointed. The waiter says he can remove it without problems and only then we pay with one transaction and leave the restaurant. No question was ever asked on why we would want to remove service charge or if there was any issue. While we were chatting outside, what I assume to be the “manager” or owner, runs out of the restaurant claiming we did not pay service charge with very bad attitude. Again no question was asked on what went wrong. I confirmed we did not pay it only after asking the waiter if he was okay with it. I also told her we were chatting outside for at least 15 minutes, which means we had nothing to hide. More importantly, the payment was done by card. We do not decide the amount that the staff puts on the terminal, only they can decide it. This also proves the staff was okay with us paying the bill without service charge. The “manager” says her waiter told her we said we would have paid service charge separately by cash and that we would leave it on the table. So I kindly let her know it is a lie first of all because we all were there during the conversation, and because it is also impossible that any of us proposed to pay by cash since none of us had British pounds or any cash whatsoever since we all came to Belfast for half day. She insisted that we had to pay it because she has no money to pay her staff and it is owed to her. So I ask her what is she hoping to achieve by lying to our face and treating us like thieves in the middle of the street. It was quite concerning to be treated as thieves while we asked permission to remove service charge. And that permission was granted. She didn’t know what to say and she left the conversation and went to talk to a random dude with tattoos in his own car and they both seemed angry. We decided it was time to go back to our cars and the dude started knocking on the driver car window saying to get down from the car and open the window. I would like to point out the driver is a girl and this dude was threatening a girl younger than him. We refused to engage with him and he kept yelling at us to pay the lady and spits on our car. This dude was not present during the dinner or the payment. He has no idea what happened. So the manager instigated a random dude with tattoos against us. We were quite shocked about this episode. None of us had ever seen such behaviour from restaurants. This is absolutely concerning. These people should not be allowed to run a restaurant at all. We should have even called the police after being threatened by a stranger in our cars for no reason and we regret not doing that. Avoid this place at all cost.

Lovely staff who know the menu really well, delicious sushi, perfectly cooked tempura prawns and yummy duck ramen! I asked for it extra spicy but it wasn’t spicy at all, perhaps a spicier broth for spice lovers would be a nice addition to the menu! Nevertheless it was very tasty!! Their cocktails are sooo good and beautifully presented!

Called in for an early light dinner. The place was excellent. Great decor, fantastic staff but best of all was the food. It was absolutely delicious. We just had a sharing platter and some prawn tempura. The lady who looked after us was very attentive and very friendly, just all round lovely. We will definitely be back. Many thanks.

We’ve been here a couple of times and always enjoyed it. However tonight we had to walk out before our mains arrived. We got seated at 7:50pm, and ordered food at 8pm. The starter took 40 minutes to arrive, which we really really enjoyed. We then sat for another 45 minutes without anyone coming near our table. We had no water, no drinks and no food for the entire 45 mins, and nobody asked what was going on. Eventually at 9:25pm a server asked us if all our food had arrived which we said no. After a further 10 minutes the server did not come back to tell us what was going on, so we got up and paid for the drinks and starters. The service was beyond abysmal tonight, although the food is really great when it comes. We’ve really enjoyed coming here before but tonight was unbearably bad, the least you expect is to be offered more water after sitting for over an hour and a half.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the sweet and sour chicken at Ginza, and I must say it was absolutely delightful! Went in on a busy Saturday evening and taken to our seats with drinks promptly arriving within minutes of ordering. The food followed swiftly behind. Our starters were light and tasty and set us up for our main course. The beef steak curry soba was delicious and the steak was melt in the mouth. Chicken ramen was gorgeous and the Yaki Soba was a massive hit too. Staff were attentive but not intrusive . A wonderful restaurant for families, couples & friends.. Our 2nd visit but definitely not our last !

Visited on a weekend for a dinner for the first time. On first impressions, the decor was nice, chairs were comfy though not much room to comfortable set your feet due to large table base design. Chopsticks are nice too. Music was a curious mix of pop and maybe rap? I feel like quasi-Japanese music would have slightly elevated the setting, as would have more a formal dress code for staff - Nike slacks and caps I was not personally a fan of but service was friendly enough on interaction. As it started to get busy, the volume all round was quite loud and difficult to have normal level conversation. The menu is very nice, however, not too overwhelming but certainly caters to many tastes. The pumpkin katsu bowl was very big for one person (tbf it is for sharing) and really yummy. Rice was lovely too. I did find it curious that they don’t serve kombucha on the menu though and think this would be a nice addition. Towards the end of our meal, we didn’t get asked if we wanted a dessert menu at all and took a long time for plates to eventually be cleared. Overall, however, I would be back for the pumpkin katsu, perhaps more for takeout than sit in but I would recommend.

Outstanding. Genuinely one of the best meals myself and my partner have had. We enjoy fish and sushi, but the menu here is very extensive and has lots to offer. This was the first time we have been and will 100% be back. Can’t recommend enough. We did have a lot of food but it was all gone by the end (photo attached). Service was excellent and cocktails were excellent. In our opinion not too expensive, and portion sizes were decent. A great place for couples/lunch/ family etc.

Booked a reservation Saturday night. Upon checking train times we realised we would be running 15 minutes late. We rang in advance to inform the restaurant of this and they made no attempt to accommodate even though the issue was out of our control and we would have been finished within the allocated time scale. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Food is amazing love going here for a date night, duck rolls and yaki soba are delicious and cocktails are nicely garnished as well as being tasty. Service is good, some days can be a bit slow even when not busy, but the staff are friendly. Atmosphere is lovely perfect date night conditions, decor is gorgeous and lighting isn't harsh with nice seats beside the window and a cute smoking area. Overall really well deserving of a 5 star sparkling review :)

We went to Ginza tonight under recommendation from my bosses. Atmosphere upon entering the restaurant was lovely and felt very authentic. We were seated quickly and had a decent amount of time to choose what we were having. We got the Japas deal with kaarage chicken, pork gyoza and duck bao alongside a steak teppan, chicken katsu, egg fried rice and xo chips. Food was absolutely stunning, definitely would order all of these dishes again. Cocktails with the Japas deal were amazing, perfectly sweet. Unfortunately (we are aware they were rather busy and there was very few staff working from the seems of it) service was poor from the moment our plates got cleared. We were never offered a refill on our empty glasses that say at the edge if the table for 45 minutes, not offered a dessert menu and we were not offered our bill. Our waitress was past a few times and didn't take much notice of our table at all. We got bored of waiting and finally got our bill after a long wait. Our waitress also never returned to our table to collect our bill so we left and told the person at the door our bill and payment was on the table. Rather unfortunate as I've heard amazing things about this restaurant from both of my bosses and we're looking forward to their artisanal gelato.

It has to be said – since COVID, the quality of restaurant food in NI has plummeted. I got so sick of writing bad reviews that now I only write one if the quality is so shockingly bad (eg Dobbie’s Garden Centre & The Boathouse, Antrim) that you really need to be warned. So it’s a real pleasure to write a good review about a place which deserves it. We’ve popped in here a couple of times since we noticed it (easily missed, modest frontage), and been impressed. The first time, we had some sort of sharing platter (Bento Box?) – sorry I didn’t make a better note of it at the time, some weeks ago now. It consisted of lots of little titbits – sushi etc, and was immaculately presented, but not really what I was looking for. I kind of knew that when ordering, but felt adventurous. If you like sushi etc, you’d be happy. The service was extremely polite and helpful, as you’d somehow expect in a Japanese establishment – lots of things I didn’t understand were patiently and courteously explained to me. Second time, we ordered dishes which were slightly more Western in nature, and loved them. I had Pork Ramen, which was a bowl of very tasty broth with large slices of braised pork belly, vegetables and noodles. My companion had Yaki Soba, which is a delicious plate of noodles, stir fried with chicken, king prawns and vegetables. She couldn’t finish it, so I did – I’ll be having it next time. Please give these guys a try – there are so many restaurants out there now serving inedible food that the odd good one deserves your custom.

Food is okay, but not hugely authentic. The service isn't the best, the girls were lovely but the drinks took a really long time, no clearing of plates for a long time when we'd finished eatting, then we couldn't finish our rice dish so asked if we could take it home. Usually restaurants would take it into the kitchen, put it in a takeaway box for you and give it back. But a take away box was just slapped on our table, it may have not been a big deal if we had any utensils with which to put it into the box!? It's not the end of the world but all these things added up to just a bit of half arsed experience! We won't be back but it's not terrible, just not great either unfortunately!

Service was very poor, barely came near us.. didnt ask once if everything was ok, did we want another drink etc. Food took forever to arrive (the place had two other tables) when food eventually arrived at first it was ok, the further we got into the sushi the worse it became. Rice was very soggy, fish was rubbery. It just wasn't that standard we are use to. It's sad to say but we won't be back.

Ginza is one of my favourite restaurants in Belfast and easily the the best Japanese restaurant here. Unfortunately my last experience was quite disappointing. The food was very late. However, when it did arrive it was very mixed the Teppan was excellent but the Sushi was remarkably poor. Servers were friendly but did not approach us after delivering the food, we were so hungry at this point when the food came that we gave up trying to get their attention to get some soy sauce. The manager was kind enough to give one of the drinks for free for the delay in the food tho. I hope this is just a once off issue and not an indication things to come, as Ginza is one of my favorite restaurants.

We came here for dinner and were sat at a dirty table directly below a leak in the roof. When we told the waitress that the roof was leaking, and she let us know that she was aware of the leak so I can’t understand why we were sat directly below the leak when we had booked a table in advance. In addition, there was lipstick on the water glasses and some sort of food splatter all over the window and partition wall which flies were feasting on. The cocktails were fine but both glasses were cracked and the cleanliness of the restaurant was just appalling compared to the first time we visited.

Went here for lunch date on a Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious and the service was great. A lovely touch when, after we were asked what we were up to the rest of the day and we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary, some of the drinks were taken off the bill. @ginza_kitchen is a cozy and beautiful Japanese restaurant. The portion sizes are generous with reasonable price. The Char Siu in ramen was incredibly good. Soft & well seasoned. Their prawn gyoza was nice but I would prefer the filling with more prawn instead of mixing too much pork. Karaage and yakitori were ok. Overall, everything was good☺️ It’s a relaxing place to dine in especially under the Sakura tree. Beautiful decor can defo increase my appetite. Do you have the same feeling?

The mixed tempura was angelically crisp and tasty and I'll be thinking about the ebi tempura masago for a long time. The side of fried noodles wasn't very special and it was too much food for me. The food was delicious as usual, and the staff were very friendly however it was disappointing to be told on arrival that we needed to vacate our table in 1 hour 15 minutes. This meant that a long overdue dinner with friends was quite rushed. On a previous occasion, my dinner booking was cancelled without explanation and I was unable to get through by phone to discuss why this happened. I had dinner with my girlfriend to celebrate moving into a new place. We had dinner in ginza kitchen in the past and were very happy about the food. However this time the menu was slightly changed, and the with it unfortunately the staff. We’ve been serve by a young waitress who didn’t know basically anything about the menu, she couldn’t describe dishes with no description on the menu, she couldn’t tell us what was gluten free or dairy free, so we kindly asked her to go ask the chef. She came back with no answers for us, a part from telling us we could have the veggie dishes multiple times, so we kept calm and said multiple times we aren’t vegetarian and we’d like to try fish dishes knowing if we would be allergic or not… So she asked the chef again and again very uncertain and imprecise answers. So we politely asked another waitress if she could help us, and she rudely said to ask the manager because she’d know best about the menu… guess who the manager was? Our first waitress who had very little knowledge about the menu! I don’t want to blame the staff, clearly understaffed and with little experience, they all looked below 20 years old, I blame the owner who allows this chaos to happen. Shame because the food is actually pretty good. I’ve never been served so poorly and at the same time arrogantly in my life, like the fault was ours to have allergies and ask questions, embarrassing! And as a result my girlfriend is now sick from gluten intake.

Went for the first time yesterday and were greeted by very friendly helpful staff. I had the chicken curry sabo which unfortunately did not have fresh chicken. The chicken was dried out and not particularly pleasant, however everything else we ordered was very good especially the tempura prawns. By literally trying to save a few pennies on a slice of chicken it was quite off putting. I do understand the hospitality sector needs to save the pennies in this current climate but keeping the food fresh will move your establishment up the ranks along with your prices, which by the way the food was very well priced. Overall it’s a good place. Late afternoon or dinner I’m sure would be all fresh. We just happened to be one of the first couples in after they opened so imho got last nights chicken We will call back for sure but next time hope this minor issue will be long forgotten.
