Ginza in Northampton

My husband and I have come to Ginza many times but hadn't written a review yet. The last time I visited was back in September when I took my 15 year daughter as she loves Japanese food. As always, the food was amazing! We had a different Bento box each plus chicken Giozas. The presentation is always brilliant, and our Bento boxes came with free Miso soup which was delicious and hot. Service was quick (the place was pretty empty on a Thursday evening) and the waitress was lovely and polite. Bento had raw fish and we both loved it! Price wise is good too for all the great food you get.

Quiet Monday night led to a surprisingly wonderful meal - fresh and thick sashimi, flavourful rolls and fantastic service. 10/10 would come again

Have ordered many times from here and have never been disappointed!

We had takoyaki (very good) kimchi (very good) fried squid (very good) and some beef spicy Udon with broth and tonkotsu ramen. Both of the ramen and Udon had furikake I think and sesame seeds on top, which for tonkotsu ramen is a bit unusual but everything we had to eat were nice and tasty. Interior needs a bit of redecorating but will definitely revisit to have sushi.

Such lovely food. Both delivery and eat in are fantastic. There is a nice selection of food and the staff are polite and accommodating. We spent just over £60 for drinks, two starters, three mains and a side dish.

Food has always been great quality, and super tasty if you like Sushi (As I obviously do). Can only recommend.

I think they have changed their recipes ? I'm not sure but still lovely we had the terryaki and udon noodles .. Def taste different .. poss prefer the previous recipe I mean there is a chance we have lost our taste a bit lol but will still order from here as always fresh and hot .

Love this place. Always great food, freshly and expertly prepared. Good selection of sushi and other dishes. My 11 year old loves this place and as everything is fresh, they can cater for your tastes and needs. Karaoke hire rooms are a nice touch.

Been here a couple of times now, once for lunch and once for a hen do and have been pleasantly surprised. (When you first walk in - i wasn't sure what to expect as the decor at the entrance could do with some work as well as the restaurant interior could do with an update). The sushi here is well presented though and fresh. Love the rainbow roll and salmon hasomaki. Service is pretty quick.

The lady was very lovely. Polite and good service. Food was a bit pricey.

Thoroughly enjoyable. A little noisy but ok

Very diassapointing considering what we payed. I've been here a few times and unfortunatly consistency on a Friday night is not their strong point. Korean noodles were tasteless with no sauce. Dumplings £6.50 for 4 vegitable dumplings with no sauce and very mediacore texture. Also menu misleading as King prawn tempura is actually Sushi completely covered in mayonnaise. Not authentic nor enjoyable when it's so drenched. Wouldn't bother for this price

Love the food, but the delivery time was a joke this time. Wanted 1 hr 50 for food with no apology when we called to chase.

Food was nice but it’s such a shame you’ve got your prices up so much. My usual order has increased by £6 in less than a month.

First experience at this restaurant, Three of us had the prawn dish, and we all felt the prawns were overdone, which was a shame. Place was really busy with q of customers. Staff were polite and friendly. Generally food was average.

Been here twice in the last few months and both times the food has been wonderful. The portions are large and we had several different dishes which were all so tasty. Defo recommend this place, the prices are reasonable and the service efficient and friendly.

we use here for a treat .. if you want authentic food with authentic ingredients.. as far as I can tell .. these are the best in Northampton in our opinion . we usually try something different each time but teriyaki udon noodles in any sauce are my absolute favourite! big thick juicy prawns .. the beef is soft and tender and the duck is beautiful also the vegitarian options are amazing thick tasty juicy vegetables in gorgeous sauce Def try .

The amount of food for the price was embarrassingly small. Ended up being around £40 for food for one. It’s a real shame as the sushi was delicious. Delivery was very quick, so that’s that.

Amazing place, me and my partner go here a lot for a date night and we have never been disappointed. Even when we order for delivery it is still amazing.

Absolutely loved our visit. The sushi tasted super fresh, the octopus balls were light and crispy, the ramen was heartwarming and the Tori Katsu Don was fantastic. Can't fault them, service is good, food is yummy and the prices are very reasonable. Can't wait for next time!

Nice authentic food, good variety and choice. Fresh vegetables and hot. I had Katsu curry which was lovely and very reasonably priced at £11. We made use of karaoke rooms upstairs, we had a few technical issues with that and should have been explained more clearly as lots of time wasted trying to work it out! Nice staff, average service. Good choice for Japanese food.

Was a lovely meal quick with food but sadly the server did not understand my English. I was very clear . But I will come back. I took my child and yes I think unless your child eats a adult meal it's worth it .

Amazing restaurant, great and quick service, we didn’t even book for the table on Mother’s Day and were a bit worried that we needed to🥲, but the waiter took us peacefully to a table that was free, right away. The waiters who served us were very nice and friendly, he even gave us a tip that would have us save a bit of money, the food came quick 😋 would definitely come again.

I love the their Ramen and don't get me started on their Duck spring rolls. Just delicious food and amazing stuff

Very friendly and amazing Japanese cuisine. Atmosphere isn't always there as its sometimes very quiet but still 100% worth a visit. Highly recommend

as always their food is amazing !!! always have the udon noodles mix with various and had a few of the sushi and seaweed meals but the taste is always spot on I end up craving it !! good sized portions too ohh and the sesame rice is gorgeous too

Came for dinner on a quiet Wednesday night. Staff was really great and attentive, great at suggestions too. Had the London London sushi to start along with another, both were tasty. I then had a bento box which was good, I could have gone for something a little more interesting and then the udon chicken noodles. All in all, it was nice, I would come back to try something else but I enjoyed the sushi!

Apart from portion sizes being noticeably smaller lately, the food always tastes very good.

Ramen was not even close to a ramen, sushi was good but it’s quite expensive for what it is

Excellent food, but delivery left a lot to be desired. While on time, I expect the food to be delivered to the communal door to my block of flats... I don't expect to have to walk across the car park, out into the street and then 50m down the road to someone sitting in the warmth of their car waiting for me to do his job!!!

Was advised an eta of 19:40-20:00, after having my order marked as delivered at 20:15, I called to chase where it was. Was told it’s an issue with the app and it was on the way. Chased again at 20:35 to be told eta of 20:40 before getting it at 20:50. Hot food was cold, cold was hot. Plus the salmon was discoloured where it had clearly been put onto hot rice, so we didn’t really eat the sushi as we were concerned of the temperature. After paying £30 for 3 dishes I’m very disappointed.

10/10 sushi, get the sushi boat

Sorry to say this was a big drop in quality from what we have previously had both delivered and in the restaurant. Everything was stone cold, the tonkotsu was more like bacon with a Ton of breadcrumbs hiding what little meat was inside. Thought we would treat ourselves as this is always expensive, but it was no treat.

Very nice selection of food and the prices are OK. Portion sizes are reasonable, too. Atmosphere? This place seems to attract all the gadget freaks as there is a noticeable dominance of phone zombies here...does this place attract lonely folks?

Got the sea food Laska for the second time now .

Love, love the food, but not the delivery driver with the glasses. Yet again it was late (does he stop for a pint), food was luke warm, and quite clearly he must have driven like a nutter the way the food was messed up in the containers.

25 minutes late, with apologies from the driver. However, the food was still hot enough and nice so no real damage. I understand Friday evenings are quite busy.

Excellent again, delivered on time and with a smile. I tried a new dish, to expand my options and I wasn't disappointed. Gorgeous food as always. Thank you!

Clean and very tasty food, my new favourite place.

this restaurant i would personally give it 5 stars because firstly, it was delicious and they have great service 5-10 minute for our food and i recommend that you the chicken katsu and also the dragon roll and it cost like 20-30 £

Well, that was a bit disappointing. When the food arrived, the soup noodles had leaked most of the liquid - yet the delivery driver seemed blind to it! Once pointed out, he said "oh yeah, I wonder how that happened?". By the looks of the sushi that arrived with it, I suspect the food was thrown in the car and then had an irratic drive over. I asked for a replacement that duly arrived. However, it wasn't what I ordered (spicy beef), I ended up with noodles and tofu. So if you're reading this and wondering why you've received spicy beef soup noodles....now you know.

Great food went in on a Saturday afternoon

The food was not at all tasty and the box was even broken when I got it delivered. It’s not at all worth . £28 pound minimum order was needed and all for waste . I m so damn disappointed with the food

After enjoying a takeaway from here a few weeks ago, thought we would eat in for date night. Amazing food, went for the 4 courses so I could try abit of everything and it did not disappoint. Gorgeous sushi and the salmon teppanyaki was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic Japanese food in the heart of Northampton, fresh fish, amazing rolls and most of all the service was world class. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes Japanese- sushi food. I’m completely satisfied, worth every penny. Thank you.

Great little place, loved the gyōzas. We had the Ginza mixed platter for 3 and tofu and a mixed sushi platter that was enjoyable for everybody. A little loud with the karaoke upstairs, didn't feel like it was sound proofed. Parking is off road, but you've got to search for it.

I'm going to drawing my 23 years in Japan as experience when I say: The menu is in English and Chinese (first hint that this place is not authentic). Sushi is never served in a boat shaped object made of wood. The chopsticks are too long (Chinese style). Real sushi never comes with sesame as a coating. California roll does not exist in Japan. Karaoke is not usually done publicly (you go to a koraoke place and pay per hour for a private room for you and your friends normally). As usual the staff are nice but that's the only positive point about this restaurant.

We used the karaoke room, they are nicely decorated and a lovely atmosphere, however the drinks are expensive, £88 for a 70cl bottle of JD, Malibu or any spirit, £30 for a bottle of prosecco, we chose to buy separate glasses of drinks as we all had different and they were watered down, couldn't taste the alcohol and just about smell it. We left as sober as we was when went in 3 hours before.

We found a fish bone in the sushi

Be careful people if you order to take away. We wanted grilled tofu in dark, thick soy sauce like last time delicious. However, this time, the tofu was plain like on a photo, no soy sauce, generally not many vegan options and it is very difficult to be understood when placing an order. I was 3 times on the phone with the lady first time she said she is very busy, so she can't explain much, but my boyfriend said there was barely anybody when he arrived {6 minutes away in Northampton we are 😅} plus all the hassle for total £26.5, so my partner will eat this and I have to cook something because we do not want to go back. Very hungry and :(

The food was amazing, very happy with all the freshness of sushi. The customer service was amazing as well. The food came on time however staff still apologised for take too much time. It was extremely kind of them. Definitely recommend and will order again!!

Ginza always do great food, have been here many times and delivery a few times and all still amazing food 100% recommend.

I found the driver very rude as the JUST EAT page did not say the items had even left the restaurant but my door buzzer went and I headed downstairs as I got to the door the driver pressed the buzzer again and I opened the door and he's attitude was very abrupt stating I should answer my phone of which I told him I'd just gone to the bathroom but also explained that the site hadn't even said it left the restaurant yet. Also I ordered the tempura king prawns expecting most of the tempura to be king prongs of which only two of them were the rest were vegetables in tempura not what I was expecting when it was king prawns highlighted

Lovely sushi, maybe avoid the short rib though

I had high expectations for this place. I dined with 3 others. We all chose the 4 course teppanyaki. I assumed that each course would come out separately but the first three courses were brought out together even though there wasn't;t really enough space on the table. It made us feel rushed. Also the short rib beef was tough and chewy.

The kimchi soup was delicious. Battered tempura and prawn doesn't travel as well but was still very nice with the ramen.

Very tasty food, prepared fresh. Beautifully presented. Authentic Japanese.My partner is Asian and she enjoyed all the food.

I choose this restaurant for my graduation dinner and we loved it. Before we place an order we asked them whats in it, beacuse we are trying Japanese &Korean food for the first time, we asked her suggestions and recommendations as well. She well explained each item we likes to try and she explained very well (sometimes double checked with the chef so that we will not be misguided, Thank You). We started with soups , Misoshiru and Korean Kimchi soup👌🏻. Kimchi soup was lil spicy than i thought 🫣 my mistake..!😁. Then we had Beef Bibimbap, Japanese Teriyaki Sea Bass Rice, Korean Tori Don and Tori Kastu Curry Don. We enjoyed it. Really its tastes good.. 😋🤩🥳 Later my Friends appreciated me for choosing the Cushion to end up my graduation celebration with the Japanese/Korean Dinner. Thank you Ginza for the warm welcome and greatfood wich made my graduation day evenmore brighter.💐. P.S. I forgot the name of the lady who attended our table but her service was excellent and her explanation was stunning which ended up with exploring more tastes and flavour. 👏🏻👏🏻.

Great karaoke, terrible drinks, not sure what’s wrong with them but tasted like chemical and wouldn’t replace them with something less chemically. Even got bar staff to try them and clearly didn’t like them but would not relent. Had whole groups try the vodka but they clearly replaced it with something g else. I honestly feel ill due to whatever they were giving me in there. It’s either the Coke or the spirit but one or the other is messed up.

Came here on a whim during the week, with my child and other half. Unfortunately there was no lunch time menu, what's on there this means that the same price throughout the day. Parking can sometimes be an issue as there is no car park available and you have to park on the Street. The entrance does have disabled access but I could not see a lift into the main seating area. The kitchen is pretty cool and has that Japanese feel. That is probably has been quite empty we got served very quickly. The food itself was great we had a bento box and some Korean fried rice with some tea. I would definitely go back

Prawn tempura was very disappointing - bland and no sweet chilli or anything to dip it in, Waste of £10. Salmon and cream cheese Sushi was amazing as usual. Salmon salad overpriced.

We ordered soup but we received a bowl of noodles!! Disgusting!!! The shrimp was the size of a nail!! for 48 sushi there was like 10gr of ginger!!

Online said food was delivered on time but had not arrived. Called restaurant who said it was out for delivery but arrived 45mins late and was cold. Food was ok, have had much better quality for the price. Will not be ordering again unfortunately.

The ambience was really nice with soothing music playing in the background. The waiters were really patient and walked us through the menu as there were first timers in our group. We ordered Ramen, Bibimbap, Katsu curry. The food was delicious, everyone loved the sushi.

The worst driver ever. Extremely rude and very, very disrespectful.
