Excellent fish and chip shop and lovely staff very clean and reasonably priced 1/10

Best fish and chips I know, extremely great, fresh warm food that tastes amazing and also respectable prices. Owner is a great nice guy!

Looked on line for a decent fish and chip shop and Gills came up. I didn't know the area. The fish was awful, no substance to it unfortunately. I did get a lot of chips. Definitely wasn't worth £10,50. Obviously would not recommend it.

After moving back to the area I've struggled to find a good chip shop. Well the search is over. The fish tastes fresh and is nicely battered. Chips are well cooked and taste good and tonight I tried the spring roll...it was better than any Chinese one I've had. The owner and the lad working was both friendly.

I had an amazing experience at this chip shop the owner i’m guessing and one of the lads that work there were lovely and so efficient at their jobs! and amazing food!!

Having just helped my daughter move into the area, we needed to find somewhere to buy takeaway food. As Gill's was opposite, we thought it would be worth trying. Food was delicious, but our experience was ruined by the lady who served us. Her maths (despite using some kind of till) meant we were overcharged. Instead of the £31.00 it should have been she made it £35.00. When I queried this, she double-checked her sum and insisted she was right. When I asked for a till receipt so I had a record of my spending, she, and (I assume) the owner, both refused to provide one. It will be a long while before I go there again.

We have possibly had the best fish & chips outside of Cornwall from Gills chip shop……. I genuinely will admit that we are fish snobs and know a thing or two. Outstanding value for money of exceptional quality and taste. Thanks again guys see you very soon.

food was cold gravy had skin on it.driver was all over broxtowe before he got to us.went looking for driver he didnt get out of his car to deliver.if this was 1st order i would never order again.

I collected a too good to go bag from here yesterday and bought two portions of haddock and a portion of chips too - food was delicious, batter not too thick or greasy - portions generous and the owner was very friendly and the prices really reasonable - I think I’ve found my new chippy!

Ordered the cod and chips from here while visiting the town and the food was well made and really hit the spot. It’s difficult to find a chippy that makes a great curry sauce, but here it was the best I’ve had. The service was fast and the food here is reasonably priced. Overall I’d highly recommend Gill’s and would definitely visit here again when I return.

Banging chips at good price and great staff. Loyalty cards with a free dinner after 10 stamps is a great touch. Wouldn't even consider eating anywhere else in Beeston

Well what can I say googled fish and chips and this little gem came up . Now I don’t normally eat fish and chips from places what do kebabs as-well. I normally just think it’s too much to handle more than other Chippys do lol. But I gave it a shot and I was not disappointed the chips were nicely cooked with that little crisp edge and the fish was bang on not greasy but perfectly crisp. And the gravy took me back to my school days proper gravery lol. Definitely worth a try I’ll be back. Also the price was perfect for a fish and chips with gravy £7.50 🤯

had a mixed kebab and chips it was lovely and tasty excellent chips and the chicken meat was gorgeous i would highly recommend eating from here

the large chicken kebab was so small almost no chicken and salad my pie was larger than the large kebab was a rip off nearly £9 for nothing stay away rip off will be contacting just eat stay away from these rob dogs disgusting

The best chippy I've ever had (and I've tried quite a few)! The staff are the friendliest, most welcoming and helpful you could find. The food is always hot and fresh, they've been happy to season to my preference and they even remember my usual order. The food is also incredibly well priced. I know I'll continue to be loyal to Gills because the quality is always excellent and everyone there is lovely.

The burgers are a dissapointment. The chicken one is just a fillet between 2 buns. No sauce, no salad. The double cheesebturger the same. The patties were burnt, hardly any cheese, no sause, no salad again. The fries were decent

Very nice chips and sausage. Good value for money too. Mentioned in passing it was my sons birthday and the guy told me to grab a fruit shoot from the fridge on the house, such a lovely gesture.

Been coming here the last 4 years. Best fish and chips in Beeston. Recently taken over by a new owner - portions are even bigger and some prices have even dropped! Amazing!

Had a superb mini haddock, chips, and pea dinner on Saturday just gone...... It was SO good, the dinner was delicious fresh, hot crust on the outside of the chips, batter on fish was very light, and not at all floury...... Beautiful dinner.... Would recommend them..... Just had another "Mini fish & chip dinner from here tonight - 17/6/2023, it's still as good as ever, they are a superb fish & chip shop....👍👍👍👍😋😋😋. They also always have copies of "The Beestonian" Magazine , which is always full of useful local information, and places to visit...

Gill's chip shop is in Beeston town centre. I found it using the Google maps app on my phone. Staff customer service skills were very good, however I had a little misunderstanding with my order but I let it go on this occasion. Everything in my order was cooked to perfection. Definitely got value for money. I would seriously consider going here again next time I'm in Beeston

Good solid chippy. Always huge fish cooked just right. Batter nice and crispy and not too thick. Chips were a bit dry last time.
