Absolutely loved this place. A very warm welcome to me and my two dogs and the finest hand dived scallops I’ve ever had in my life. A bit of a drive to get there, but what a location - stunningly beautiful and peaceful. I will definitely be back when I return to this part of the world. Thank you

This is a perfect local spot in an outstanding setting at the end of the narrow local road, nearly “at the end of the world”. We had a booking at 19.30, so, normally, we would be the last occupants of our table up to the kitchen closing time (20.00). On that very rainy evening, we arrived about 50 minutes earlier, so almost all tables were still empty. Thus, we thought we would have an extra 50 minutes at our table to sit and enjoy our dinner. The dinner was indeed superb, with fresh and well-cooked seafood. The scallops with black pudding were exceptional. To our big surprise, the waiter gently asked us to leave the table, although it had been booked for 19.30 up to normally the closing time. I suppose this happened because we got there earlier than scheduled, but this did not make any meaning because when we arrived the restaurant was almost empty, and we could spend all our booked time. I didn't want to spoil our good mood with further argument, and we left insulted by their behavior.

Great food and a stunning location. Be warned give yourself plenty of time to get there e.g. 30mins from Torridon as the road is very very twisty but stunning views. Unfortunately, they have really ramped up their prices this year. We have been going for years. But £95 for essentially a two course meal for two with only one drink each (sodawater and blackcurrent) is just WAY too expensive. We shared a starter of scallops for one. We each had a main of venison which while very tasty was quite tough and the chief would have known that as it comes sliced. We also shared a chocolate desert for one. So one starter, two mains and one desert and two softdrinks was £95. We won't be back without checking the prices.

We are staying in a cottage close to one of the local hotels in Torridon which would have been the obvious place for a meal out, however, almost half the entries in the guest book at the cottage mention the excellent food at Gille Brighde, so we thought we would try it out. We were not disappointed - excellent food with mostly local ingredients, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. The drive there is 'interesting', so not one for nervous drivers, but if you like steep, twisty and challenging drives you should be fine

The food was spectacular, including delicious haddock chowder, the best scotch egg we had ever tasted, and two different venison dishes - not to mention the justifiably "famous" sticky toffee pudding. The location is beautiful, the hosts very welcoming, and the atmosphere friendly and relaxed. It's a small restaurant and busy despite its remote location, so make a reservation - it's more than worth the journey.

We had made reservartions for dinner, based on our Torridon B&B host's strong recommendation. It's a tiny place, with few tables and very popular, so pre-booking is a good idea. The drive to Lower Diabiag along a narrow single track road is a roller coaster with great views, and the meal a fitting end to the adventure. We ordered both vegetarian choices on the menu - the samosa haggis and veg curry - both good. The sticky toffee pudding desert was delicious.

Steep and bendy but not crowded and those views need to be seen ( preferably on a good day) Arrived at the beautiful Diabieg and were warmly greeted to Gille Brighde ( Oystercatcher) . We sat outside with our dogs as it was fab weather and no midges. Seafood is amazing here, however for a main i actually had a roast as it was Sunday . Everything perfect . We have stopped here for coffee a few times when we have been nearby during a trip - it's a lovely place and the owners seem like really nice people, always very friendly. There is a nice seating area indoors but we usually prefer to sit outside and enjoy the view of the bay - there is an old ship wreck nearby and at the right time of year, lots of colourful shells! We haven't tried the food as we usually bring meals with us when camping, but as others have said the menu looks good and very extensive! There was hand sanitiser available and staff were wearing masks so I felt like it was pretty Covid safe, however the indoor seating is quite cosy so I would recommend sitting outside if you were very worried about it.

On Tripadvisor this is number 1 of 3 restaurants in Torridon and to get there you have to drive 30 mins from Torridon. That tells you how far away from everything you are! The restaurant is literally at the very end of a road (from Torridon) that already had you driving on single-lane roads with passing spots. We stayed at the Torridon hotel (wonderful place) and ate here on our "night out". The restaurant is set on a small bay, right on the water, where you could imagine a few small fishing boats "hanging out". It feels a bit much to call this a village, perhaps "gathering of houses" is more descriptive. Still, it's all quite charming.I highly recommend eating early-ish - 6pm got us back to our hotel just as it was getting dark. The drive here is very pretty and if it's warm enough you can sit outside and eat, or have a drink outside and then come inside for dinner (that's what we did). Or just stop by for a drink! Be aware that opening hours are quite limited. We actually came here for a walk that basically starts outside the restaurant and heads up the road for a bit to a path that takes you along the coast heading north. There is no road along this part of the coast, and if you follow the path for 3-4 hours you get to another road that dead-ends there. Views across to Isle of Skye are very nice and even if you're not eating at this restaurant, it's a nice walk. It's a small place with perhaps half-a-dozen tables. Ofcourse food is as locally sourced as possible with a focus on the ocean right outside. I'm not much for describing what we ate other than to say the flavors were excellent, on point, "crisp", fresh - yup, yummy indeed. The couple working here are lovely and certainly add to the charm of the place. Reservations - I would highly recommend it. It's highly rated; it's small; if it's full you're 30 minutes to the next option. I think we used facebook/messenger and they were good about responding. As you can tell, we loved this cute little gem at the end of the world. Highly recommended.

We first found this place on a drive out in March when we were over for a few days and made a note to come back during our September holiday. We were not disappointed!! This is the best meal we have had during our 2 week holiday and we have not had a single bad meal at all. Why is this the best? Well everything about it. The setting, right at the edge of the loch, stunning. The welcome, warm and friendly. A husband and wife team working together doing everything themselves. The ambience of the restaurant and most of all the delicious food. So much fish and seafood to chose from plus something for the non fish lover too. We both had scallops to start which were the best we have had over the 2 weeks. I had halibut for main which was cooked to perfection and so tasty. My husband had the venison which was so tender and flavoursome. Even the chips he had tasted like roast potatoes if that makes sense! My husband had the chocolate torte with almond brittle and amaretto chocolate sauce. WOW. Everything homemade. Even the bread. Is it any wonder they are up for an award. I do hope they win! Not everyone will know about this place but I urge you to take the long winding road from Torridon out to Diabag. It is well worth it so much so we are going back tonight for our last night of our holiday.

Your evening out begins with the trip from Loch Torridon to Gille Brighde. What a route, narrow single track road with exhilarating views over the Loch! Sadly, it was rather cloudy so I could only imagine how it would look on a clear night with a glorious sunset.A warm welcome greets you at the door and then there is the difficult decision to choose from an impressive menu, all sourced in local ingredients. I'm afraid I always find it hard to look past scallops and thankfully these were available as a starter or main course option. That simplified things for me as I fancied trying the venison fillet, something I had never tried before. Both were excellent - fresh, quality ingredients, superbly cooked and presented. A good selection of wines and other drinks were available to accompany our meal. All of our table were in raptures with their food, service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfectly understated and relaxed.I had read the reviews of Giile Brighde before reserving our table and thought that this sounded the kind of place our friends would enjoy. They certainly did! Few restaurants will enjoy such a range of positive reviews - to be honest, I was anticipating that I would enjoy our visit, but have to say that this place is even better that I had expected. Food and cooking are both of the highest quality, but are very fairly priced. Food of this standard would cost considerably more in a city centre restaurant. And you don't get the scenery in a city centre!Gille Brighde is somewhere I shall eagerly return to!

This was one of the best meals I've had in one of the most memorable locations. As you would expect, there is plenty of fresh seafood dishes on the menu including lobster bisque and scallops as well as the local venison and homemade sausages. Everything we ordered exceeded expectations and the relaxed atmosphere and presence of the owners made it all the more enjoyable. The wine list also had a very good selection and the only thing that I can say that I'm disappointed about is that I was too full to eat dessert (the breakfast sausages made up for it though!)

We had enjoyed the exhilarating drive to Grille Brighde and having been told that the food was excellent we anticipated an enjoyable meal. Unfortunately it was not the case. The first course of crab cakes turned out to be an indicator of what was to follow. They did not particularly taste much of crab or anything interesting. In addition two such small cakes for over £8 did not constitute good value.

The outside of the restaurant as you approach has the community defibrillator which your driver might need if they have not been there before. If there is a prize for the UKs remotest restaurant this will be in the running as it is at the end of a nine mile road which even by Scottish standards is extreme - don't go if you have doubts about your clutch. In fairness the drive back doesn't seem half as bad!

The drive is a bit hair raising, but if you have done the Applecross road, you will be fine! Setting and view are gorgeous and the food extraordinary! We come this way every year for the Shieldaig regatta and fete, but my brother-in-law recommended we try Gille Brighde after reading about it. Lucky we called at the beginning of our stay, as it took three nights before they could work in a table for 7. The wait only maximised the pleasure. I think we tried every single thing on the menu among us all - or close to it, and you couldn’t make a bad choice! Adding this to our annual visit must do list! Many thanks!

You will work to get here, either by land (scary long single-track dizzying road), or by sea (from the southern shore of the loch), and the journey will be beautiful. Then you will be in the care of the owners and their small, friendly restaurant. You will choose from the blackboard, be delighted, all remarkable, even the simple salad. The berries surrounding the ice cream are from the croft up the hill. You would have paid more.

Went for a drive to visit a friends house at Rechullin. On the way back to our hotel we were hungry and wondered about going to Kinlochewe but if we turned left the dead end road went to Diabaig. A quick look on line suggested there was food available. What a great find and great scenery on route. The Gille Brighde is run by Art and Amanda. They are very friendly and have a great choice of food and drinks. We love scallops so we both had scallops with salad and bread or chips. Delicious. Followed by sticky toffee pudding. Would definitely recommend. Hard to find and no signage on the road which is a shame

Reservations are a must for this fabulous wee gem of a restaurant. On this visit, there were 7 of us and we ordered a range of starters to include scallops, prawn cocktail, chicken paté and smoked mackerel. Mains varied from fish to chicken and a beautifully cooked piece of Highland venison. For dessert, we had one of the best affogatos I've ever ordered with a cheeky nip of amaretto on the side. Finished off with a gorgeous sunset on the cruise home. All-round wonderful!

Well, after two years of waiting to come back for dinner, Aart and Amanda's little gem didn't disappoint. We started with scallops and a sea food platter, followed by monkfish, which was the most amazing piece of monkfish we've ever eaten. We couldn't resist sharing Aart's infamous sticky toffee pudding for afters and this was so worth it. The atmosphere here is great, and our table looked out over the sea. Diabaig is a very special place and the Gille Brighde is a must visit. Book first though otherwise you won't get in. Can't wait to come back!

Cut to the chase and save you a long read. Everything was flawless - from the hearty and jovial welcome, the enticing menu, well-timed service, comfortable ambience and of course excellent food. This is not the first time we have eaten here but we coaxed some discerning friends from very far away to make the journey down from Gairloch with us and I'm very happy to say that we could not have enjoyed the experience more.

Off the main beaten track, or North Coast 500 as it’s better known, head out past the village of Torridon to the end of a beautiful coastal road until you reach the small harbour community of Diabaig. The road offers astounding scenery along the way, but must be driven with care, using suitable lay-bys for photo opportunities.

I’ll start of with saying this has to be one of the best meals I have ever had ! Me and two friends came from a local hotel and were all amazed at the hospitality we received and how genuine and nice the owner really was. All three courses were aced. Was a pleasure to dine here and we were made so welcome. We will be back throughout the summer and I would 100% recommend this place !

I was so looking forward to a meal here, having enjoyed tea and great homemade cake previously. I also don't like writing a poor review of a small place but I really don't think the food I had was up to standard at all.

By far the best meal we had on our trip to the area. We were lucky enough to be able to sit outside and enjoy the last of the sun whilst having our meal. The choice of starters, mains and desserts was fantastic, so much so it was difficult to settle on only one thing for each course! The food was so fresh, flavoursome and filling. The owner was so friendly and made us feel totally at home as well. Would happily make the journey back north just to have another meal here, as it could never disappoint!

As the road to Diabaig twists and turns through glorious mountain scenery you begin to wonder if there really can be a restaurant ahead. But there it most definitely is, in the beautiful little village of Diabaig set around a sheltered bay, and it has been worth every inch of the journey. Excellent food in a most congenial setting; unpretentious and honest cooking at its best.

We managed to get the last table and booked for dinner after a tough walk around the area. It is a really cosy restaurant with stove fire and nice selection of beers. The food was excellent and covered our vegan needs. The hosts are wonderful. Just check opening times and call ahead as there are limited tables.

On our holiday in Glenelg we popped into this cafe, which is popular with both locals and visitors. We only had coffee, but the food on offer looked very tasty. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There is ample parking nearby. Overall a nice place for a snack. Highly recommend.

This place is a hidden gem! We were driving by and found it by chance. The crispy chicken burger was really tasty. My kids loved the nachos and loaded fries. The food quality and taste were amazing, and the prices were very affordable. If you’re in the area, it's a must-try, and the view from the place is breathtaking.

The hotel is in a very priviliged situation overlooking the bay of Loch Duart. The hospitality service is great and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Some of the decoration misses the final touch, i.e the wintergarden, the reception area. But it is still a very recommendable address.
