Gifford Lea in Cheshire West and Chester

Breakfast was lovely really enjoyed it also service was excellent.Everyone was so friendly the place is gorgeous what a beautiful place for breakfast.

Myself and my partner visited today with a friend (Jen) who is a resident of Gifford Lee. I must start by saying that I don't usually write reviews but on this occasion I thought I had to because I don't want others to miss out on such a lovely meal in such a nice restaurant. We had a 3 course meal which started with soup that was really nice and for the main we had roast beef with all the trimmings which was amazing. We finished off which a warm chocolate brownie and ice-cream and Jen had lemon posset. The puds were nice and light and a perfect end to our meal.The presentation throughout was superb and all of the staff were attentive and very polite. All in all a lovely experience and can't wait for another visit.

Lovely building, great food and really attentive servers. Set in a beautiful retirement village, the restaurant sits in a main building next to a coffee shop and open plan design. The food was tremendous, a good selection of wines and a real hidden gem.

I had heard good things about the dining room at Gifford Lea, so we thought we would give it a go! The restaurant is within the new "retirement village" in Tattenhall, which doesn't sound very sexy, but is nothing like what one would imaging a retirement village restaurant to be. The Decor, layout and furnishings would be at home in a top London Hotel! The restaurant is open to the public, and booking is advised. it was a Sunday, so only the Sunday menu was available. Excellent choices of roasts, and deals for 2 or 3 courses. I had 2 courses, as did my wife. Both roasts were exceptional, with all the trimmings. I had a superb starter, and my wife had a delicious strawberry cheesecake desert. The wine we chose was good and reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. Overall we have a lovely meal, and look forward to returning.

We have become regular diners at this exceptional restaurant since its opening six months ago where the smart decor provides a welcoming, relaxing ambience. The beautifully presented food is invariably excellent and we enjoy selecting wines by the glass from the impressive wine list. Staff are knowledgable and their professional service has made us feel very special.

Although the restaurant is in a 'new' retirement village, it is open to the public by reservation; the residents have first call on seats. However, it is well worth trying to book because the food is magnificent. It has a relatively modest seasonal menu (small staff numbers) with 'specials' but all dishes are scrumptious. Front-of-house staff are polite and helpful with just the right amount of attentiveness. My compliments to the chef and his staff.
