We went out of curiosity because of the revues being mostly positive. However it turned out as I had suspected with nothing authentic Italian in sight. The menu is a confused mess of dishes that you would find nowhere in Italy, in homes or in restaurants. We decided to play safe and had only a Marguerita pizza, it was ok but someone ought to tell them it should not have cheddar on it. The most original and basic pizza should be simple and include fresh basil with the tomato and mozzarella to represent the colours of the Italian flag. The service was fine but when asked what was authentic the wait staff could not give an answer. Having lived in Italy for several years and travelled all over I have never felt so conned. It seems obvious that the reviewers are unaware that e.g Carbonara is not made with chicken and Halloumi and tzatziki are Greek , to be honest the menu might as well have been written in Greek.

Went here again, as always a great experience, great food, friendly staff! That’s normally! This time things have changed, change is normally good? Not here unfortunately, to have the full menu, like the starter platters you have to book a table. Last time I visited, there was no booking, no table reservations needed! It was in a Saturday, in the afternoon, like yesterday and on that occasion the full menu and the bar menu were on offer! On that occasion the food was fantastic, this time, we didn’t eat, because the bar menu just doesn’t cut it! Not sure if this menu/ table booking is a new thing, it must be, but if that’s the case I won’t be returning

Really can't fault anything. We were a party of 6 adults, 1 child and a baby, and we really couldn't have asked for a more attentive, friendly and accommodating member of staff to wait at our table. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was fabulous, and our gluten-free diner was really impressed with the range of gluten-free choices - and with their meal. I wasn't expecting everything to be so good! We will certainly be visiting again soon. Our sincere thanks for such a lovely experience!

Our first time at Giardino Italian Restaurant. This was a family visit with 6 adults, 2 children and a baby. The food was good as was the service. We were looked after by Sonny, Ellie and Chloe who were polite, friendly and efficient. We will certainly be visiting again.

Spur of the moment visit for lunch as we were in Sparrow's Nest Park. Lovely location. Impressed by structure generally and very neat, clean and tidy. Not too busy as a weekday. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food and good value for money, with large portions. Sat outside to eat, in shade. Very relaxing. Would recommend to anyone and we'll certainly go again.

We talked about how delicious the food was at moments throughout the day, and even just moment before falling asleep. Fresh and full of flavour. There is a lovely view out onto a park and friendly, helpful staff. We will certainly be returning! 5*

My wife and I visit Giardino's fairly regularly as this is our first choice restaurant in Lowestoft. We moved here in 2018 and have tried many other local restaurants but Giardino's is the most consistent for quality. The food is superb and the staff are very helpful and attentive. When friends visit, we usually take them here. None have complained, not even the grandchildren !

We had been recommended to dine here by our b&b hosts, and were not disappointed. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We would definitely eat here again.

Went with friends. Four of us were directed to sit at a table by the window. The food and service was okay. The staff were friendly enough. Then a single man came in coughing and spluttering. He was seated directly behind me, presumably to enable easy clear up. The restaurant was otherwise empty. As you can imagine, with Covid 19 still a thing and all of us vulnerable in our 60’s we will never return to this place

Average food, ordered a switch from baby potatoes to fries, apparently not an option, then realised the reason is there were only 3 baby potatoes… next the chicken and avocado salad, 3 pieces of Asda chicken that you’d pop in a sandwich .oh dear really? Oh then ordered a bottle of Shiraz, and received a Shiraz/Cabernet blend!!! Obvious signs of cost cutting, avoid, avoid.

Our visit started off fine and the mains were delicious unfortunately it went downhill rapidly from then on. Over an hour's wait for a dessert order, and then it was because one of our party had to ask the waitress to come to our table, and the desserts were like something I dish up at home "slop in a dish" for the prices charged there was no finesse whatsoever to any desserts served. Highly disappointing to say the least.

We discovered this place by accident and are so glad we did. Whenever we go there the staff are always smiling and friendly and efficient. We have been there for lunch several times and dinner a couple of times and the food is always good and the service excellent. Good ingredients used and cooked to order - highly recommend the desserts - delicious. They do some good lagers and wines too and are reasonably priced. We are definitely regulars here!

A family meal during a few days away in the area. Some of the dishes my family ordered (such as the carbonara) were tasty. A mistake with our drinks order was rectified. The service was friendly and there was no long wait for food. Portion size varied though only 2 small balls for the risotto ball starter was a little disappointing. My son’s pizza was generous in size. The chips were very good and worth paying extra for.

I love this little restaurant. The staff are always friendly and there is a great ambience. We went during Eat Out To Help Out, and it was our first restaurant experience after Covid appeared. I have to admit I was a little uneasy by being inside with closed windows. There was a table beside ours, but no one ever sat there, which was fortunate as they would have been within 6 feet. The food, however, was lovely. I opted for a chicken calzone, which was a dream. There was tasty chunks of chicken inside. None of the desserts struck my fancy, but I opted for the banana fritter special, expecting something akin to a Chinese restaurants' version. It was not. Instead it was banana with a very very fine coating of batter, cooked in oil, the end result being a hot oily tasting banana! There was a tiny amount of chocolate sauce on it (it was billed as custard). I couldn't eat it, so gave it to my partner who did eat it, but didn't like doing so (we are highly British and don't like making a fuss!)No idea if that's still on the menu, but avoid if it is. Beyond that, it was fantastic and we will be going again, though this time I'll have a starter and main instead!

First time eating here since lockdown, was really looking forward to it but was disappointed.Was seated close to 2 other groups which wasn’t expected especially as restaurant was empty. Seats were a little dirty with food crumbs. Received our food pretty quick but my steak was completely cold and couldn’t eat. Was waiting for waiter to return to check if all ok with food but he never did. Upon paying I did mention this and was told I should have told waiter, easier said than done as he never returned to out table once our food was served. Will probably still go again but won’t be ordering steak!

On arrival staff were friendly and all smiles, and looked ridiculously busy, was seated straight away, serving staff were polite, friendly and very professional, made our dining experience lovely, food was Served hot and delicious and we all had something different and had no complaints. Two massive thumbs up to the staff, they were cleaning throughly when tables were vacated and all with a smile on their face, nothing was too much trouble for them either, excellent service, would definitely recommend a meal here!!

Food was hot, tasty and fresh. Service was good, price was fair and setting was pleasant. Can’t fault our experience. Having been 5 times over the years since Giardinos opened, this was head and shoulders above previous visits, the chef has got everything absolutely spot on. The combinations of flavours, portions, presentation of food were all faultless. It really is compliments to the chef! We will be back.

Reserved table not given in the conservatory by the small 'fattish' lady who offered no apology. The Mojito had no / little alcohol even though they claimed it had a double shot. The Aubergine parmigiana they offered on the day was not proper parmigiana but merely grilled under cooked aubergine with a bit of tasteless tomato sauce.The male waiter just placed the 4 wine bottles over the course of the evening on the table without serving it to us. The waiter did not come to us frequently to see if we wanted anything but had to go to the bar to order the wine and drinks. The food was average and the service was VERY POOR. Do not recommend this restaurant and do not expect this to be a nice dine out experience. With unemployment rising the staff can be easily replaced with people who care about service to customers. We were a party of 5 and spent money on 3 course meal with pre dinner drinks, 4 bottles of wine, 3 soft drinks and were prepared to tip handsomely !

Visited restaurant yesterday. Service polite and food ok. Main issue was that we had a privilege card entitling is to 25% off meal. Was told before ordering this discount would be honoured and when we were being served main meal we were informed that they had changed their mind. This was due to the government scheme and the discount only applies on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All other companies allow discounts except this one and not happy with the way they conducted themselves.

Decided to try this place while on holiday last week. Food was excellent can highly recommend the fennel calzone. Good children's menu and very nice setting. Tables and chairs were cleaned down, no salt and pepper on table to make it safe and track and trace form on table to complete. Hand sanitizer on entry. Will be back.

We stumbled across this restaurant whilst in Lowestoft. Luckily they accommodated the 3 of us. We were extremely happy with the meal, the service was great. The kids menu had plenty options and our daughter loved the pizza! We tried to return the following day but they were fully booked! Would highly recommend.

We had an early dinner here on Saturday night. The staff were good, attentive but not irritating. The menu had a good range and the food was very good. The set up for post-Covid was well done, the staff were cleaning hands regularly and there was a one-way system. We very much enjoyed our evening.

On arrival we were shown to our table, and straight away felt well looked after.The restaurant had a excellent atmosphere, very clean, pleasant staff, excellent food, the whole restaurant has a mediterranean feel. On a cold night in Lowestoft, we didn't expect to find such a lovely place. The best thing for me was the fact they server "proper" hand cut chips.

Have eaten here a couple of times before and decided to return on a busy Bank Holiday Sunday evening. The waitress we spoke to was able to fit us in and so pleased she did. The hake main was delicious and so were our desserts. We both enjoyed our cocktails. As before an enjoyable meal in a pleasant park setting with attentive, friendly staff.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Service was a bit patchy. Had to ask twice for missing meal items and chase them for the bill. Food for four ranged from good to mediocre. The Pollo E Mozzarella was dry and the wedges burnt, not particularly enjoyable, but the pizza was enjoyable & freshly cooked and the carbonara not too bad. Toilets pretty nasty but more the fault of the customers than the staff but when you have to clean the toilet yourself before using it, that's not good. Overall it didn't seem like anyone was particularly in charge of running the place. I would go back but may leave it for a while!

Myself and two friends visited this restaurant on 18th Sept. We met up in the bar and had a reasonably priced drink, and were then shown to our table. Myself and one of my friends as a starter decided to have a seafood platter to share, whilst the other person we were with decided that this would be a good choice for a main course for one. The starter was very delicious, and a good size for two people. On the menu the rib eye steak was advertised as coming with a Gorgonzola sauce, well myself and my friend did not fancy such a strong sauce with a steak and the restaurant was very obliging in replacing this with a mushroom sauce. Also I might mention that I asked for my steak rare, and this was exactly how it came! A lot of steaks at other restaurants do not seem to know the meaning of the word rare and come out medium rare, the quality of the meat was excellent as well. The whole night went exceedingly well, and staff were very friendly and service was very good.

Perfect setting in lovely park by beach and spacious restaurant. Full bar with cocktails. Large choice of menu with specials board. Venison was very tough which was a shame as looked good and steak was tasty with sauce but rather burnt so spoilt taste. Starter if fish platter was perfect and service was excellent. Last minute booking fo my wife's birthday meal. Called ahead and got a table for 4 at 5.15. On arrival it appeared they didn't have a booking for us. No bother. They fit us in anyway. Ordered meatballs for my daughter. Which we made clear were for her. She is 2. As there was no mention of the sauce being spicy we thought this would be a safe option. Waitress never advised against either. My daughter burnt her mouth with the spice. My wife ordered venison off the specials. It was Bland and no steak knife provided. I ordered the duck. I asked if it came pink. After some hesitation I was told yes. It did not come pink. It was a little chewy so I left it. In the time it took to eat our meals we had no check back from staff. These issues probably could have been resolved. I was asked eventually by our waitress if I wanted anything else for myself and my daughter but by that time my wife and son were completely finished. No offer of a reduction or real apology for our experience was offered. Real shame.

We had our wedding reception at Giardino this weekend, and had the best time ever.We had the downstairs section of the restaurant for the night and it was perfect. We were able to decorate it how we wanted it and all of the staff were so helpful with the preparation. All of our guests complimented the food and service, both were amazing. We were well looked after and can't thank the staff enough for helping to make our wedding reception everything we wanted. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Giardino Restaurant and will be back soon! :)

Had not visited this restaurant for a couple of years, so gave it a try. It did not disappoint, as the meal (prawns, ravioli, etc.) was one of the tastiest we have had. The dessert was also very good. Although we took advantage of the 'early bird' offer, I would gladly have paid full price for this meal! Service was friendly and efficient and even the drinks were reasonably priced.

After reading the ratings on tripadvisor we thought we would book a table for 8pm at Giardino's. We were approx 10 minutes late when we arrived as had problems getting a cab. The waiting staff were very friendly, polite and courteous and showed us to our table.. My husband ordered the chicken livers from the special's board and I had the prawns with chilli dip from the main menu. My husband's chicken livers were a little 'bloody' and he ate them and said they were not very tasty where my prawns were very pleasant. We had ordered the chicken and bacon carbonara as our main courses. Bearing in mind we had arrived late, were served our starters within approx 15 mins which was not a problem but no sooner had we finished our starter the main dish turned up by 8.45 which was a little too soon for our liking. When it arrived it was very, very hot so much so we had to wait to eat it as it would have burned our mouths. Eventually we got to start on it and it was tasteless and sloppy, in actual fact we both pushed it away as couldn't eat it. When the young waiter came over and asked 'if everything was alright we told him how awful it was and he expressed he's apologies. I asked had it been microwaved as it was so hot and he said it had been cooked freshly which I find hard to believe as the pasta was stuck around the edge of the dish and was hard as if it had been microwaved. He went back to the kitchen and they sent their apologies and did not charge for the main course. Felt sorry for the waiter as he was so nice and polite and to say we were disappointed is and understatement as the reviews were so good.

This has got to be my favourite restaurant in lowestoft. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and go out of their way food is fantastic, eaten at different times of the day and always spot on. Owner is very friendly and often pops in. Josh is Mr smiley and always has time for a chat

Visited for the first time for a special date night as we had a babysitter yay! We enjoyed every thing about this restaurant, the service was wonderful and we were made to feel so welcome the moment we walked in. We shared the antipasti starter which was just beautiful so refreshing having watermelon with it too. We then shared a bbq pizza and a chorizo salad which were both delicious and all for a really reasonable price. Can't wait to come back with our children.

Family meal celebrating an 80th Birthday. Not knowing the area and only spending one night in Lowestoft, am so glad we chose the Giardino restaurant for this family celebration. Restaurant is very welcoming and spacious inside. Food was excellent and everyone enjoyed the meals that they ordered. Lovely gardens and settings too. Strongly recommend this restaurant and would definitely visit again.

Although this restaurant was out of the centre of Lowestoft it was worth a taxi ride. Good variety on the menu and everyone enjoyed their meals. Pleasant spot to visit and eat. Wish we had time to eat there again.

Visited for an off the cuff family meal, booked in advance same day as it can be quite busy. Really nice large selection of italian dishes and pizzas so something for everyone. We had the lasagna with a side of cheesey garlic bread and my daughter had a pizza - all absolutely fantastic dishes and washed down with some cracking deserts. One of the few places I find that you can get a tirumasu. We took advantage of the early bird offer of 25% off by arriving at around 5pm so was plesantly surprised by the bill. Would definately visit again.

Was visiting my in-laws who live in Lowestoft and decided to come here Saturday evening for a nice meal. The place is lovely, staff are very friendly and attentive and the menu was great and was spoilt for choice on what to order. 2 of us had a rib eye steak which were both cooked to perfection, 1 of us had a calzone which was very tasty and too big to finish and 1 of us had a chicken dish which was very tasty. Prices were good and value for money. We finished our night with cocktails which were lovely especially the porn star martinis. Would highly recommend this little gem and would definitely return when in the area again.

What an excellent find, fantastic fresh food at a great price and in a lovely setting just off the most easterly point in the UK in a park. I was blown away by the standard of food: salmon risotto was a tasty risotto with a large Salmon steak and poached egg, the Chicken and avocado salad (dressing on the side) was equal to it with delightful garlic bread and shared between two one of the best lunches for years. The price, ridiculously cheap and for once no mandatory service charge. Needless to say the tip far exceeded the usual enforced 12.5%. By the way this place has 25% off all food all day Sundays and between 4-6pm why more people are not raving about it in this part of Suffolk is beyond me!

Just returned from an Evening meal. Calzone was very good, the filling was tasty and the ingredients seemed of good quality. Rather than usual cheap catering/supermarket mushrooms, I could identify a mix of less commonly used, tasty ones. My guests steak was well trimmed and well cooked, it had virtually no inedible fat and was 99% consumed. Chips didn't appear to be frozen, and the prices pretty keen. Pudding was excellent too. Couldn't fault the meal really.

I didn't fancy anything from the starter menu so went for a side of meatballs - good choice. I had the Calzone Carne for mains which was the best I have ever had. the dough was good and filled with a lovely tom sauce, meatballs etc. Not sure if this is a chain or an independent but I would highly recommend. Team were really good too.

All four dishes we had were delicious having had a tough decision to make when choosing off the extensive menu. The portions were large, quality was high and fantastic value for money. Jamie who served us looked after us throughout the meal and I can highly recommend this restaurant for both the food and the service you will receive.

Well on Sunday you aced it. The food was faultless and we had a truly amazing dinner. So we thought we catch some friends and come back on Monday. I ordered the same meal as the day before and it was totally different. We did not get any bread and oil at all and it all felt that our party of 6 kids and 4 adults was quite stressful for Giardino. On a good note, the food all came at the same time and all in all it was very good food. So we will be back and we also will recommend Giardino to our friends, especially after a day out in Pleassure Wood Hills. It is only a short drive to the restaurant and great before a long drive home.

Popped in for a fresh pizza and sat at the bar having a drink first. Very romantic spot, as it has clean tasteful decor and a great view out of floor to ceiling windows of the beautiful park outside. Pizza was great,definitely satisfied a craving that fast food pizza like Dominos or Pizza Hut would not. Will be back for a dine-in with the boyfriend.

Went for a special Anniversary and was not disappointed. Booked a nice table with Josh who we met on entering with professonalism and showed us to our table. Waitress very pleasant when ordering and drinks came quickly with the meals to die for. Finished up with coffees on the terrace. Well worth the visit and will definately go again.

I took a party of 22 to Giardino's last night. Trying to organise a big party is a nightmare and after a couple of cancellations and adding someone to the list, the staff took it all in their stride. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were so friendly. Everyone enjoyed their food which was delivered hot. To get 22 meals out at the same time is not easy but they were brilliant. Can I say a particular thank you to Josh and Luke. They looked after us so well last night and are a real asset to your restaurant. Really lovely lads! I will be bringing my family back very soon.

Very good service, delicious food, we had the Italian sausage and bean casserole and Giant Prawn Pasta, both very tasty. All reasonably priced, wine a good price too.

I love this restaurant and often eat in here and this afternoon popped in for a leisurely drink in the sun and was served Adnams Wild Wave as was the only option for draught cider. Officially this stuff should be called Wild W@n$! Poorest cider since Merrydown propelled me into several teenage comas when I was around 9. Please get a drinks selection worthy of how great your food is please.

4 visits and all excellent. Lovey menu and food is piping hot. Staff efficient and super friendly. I've eaten in many restaurants all over the world but if you asked me tomorrow where I would like to go my answer would be here!

When customers walk in to your restaurant you should immediately stop what you are doing, acknowledge them and give them your attention. We walked in behind another group and waited for a good five minutes before a staff member spoke to us. When a waiter did finally appear, there wasn't so much as a "sorry to keep you waiting?" If any of you worked for me, you would now be out of a job. The food was okay but whoever owns this restaurant needs to spend some time observing the behaviour of the staff who seem to be totally out of their depth.

We don't come regularly but we're recognised and we're treated brilliantly. The staff are amazing!! The food is always great. Well worth the visit!!!!l definitely go. X

We ate here in a group on Bank Holiday Monday and I was very impressed with the layout of the restaurant and the decor, it is lovely. We had a drink near the bar before being seated at our table in the lower area of the restaurant and our server Jake, was very attentive and looked after us very well. The meals were all well presented and tasty, in our group of 7 there were no complaints and the price was reasonable. We shall definitely return when next in the area.

We visited for the first time tonight due to a good bunch of reviews on here. Upon arrival we were seated in a table in the conservatory that was not completely setup. We then ordered some soft drinks to start while perusing the menu. The servers were polite and friendly initially, when taking our order. I ordered the brushetta starter, whilst my partner had some spicy risotto balls, followed by the mains. For myself this was the carbonara with side order of garlic ciabatta. My partner ordered a chicken in tomato and aubergine with a side of meatballs.

Came here for a family "Get-together". We have been here before and loved it. Everyone of us enjoyed our meal, pizza and calzone was delicious!

Went to Giardino bar and restaurant for a meal with friends on Sunday evening, service was excellent and food extremely nice and well cooked. The price was very reasonable and we even got an early bird discount, will definitely be going again 😁🍾

We come here for lunch without a booking, the staff helped re arrange a couple of tables to enable us all to sit together, service was quick, and food was good.

We arrived at 7 for 7.30 pm and we didn't get our starters till 8.30 pm and mine was minus the chilli sauce. We had pre-ordered as we were a large group of people from a local photography club.. Our dessert arrived at 10.20 pm. There was no management present and i asked about this and was told by one of the young lads working there that they are advertising but so far noone had got the job. I would have thought that the owner should muck in to organise these couple of lads, not their fault but too much pressure for them obviously. I was told a girl, another member of staff had gone off sick. Apparently there are two chefs and as the menu hadn't changed from the previous year, I couldn't see why there was such a delay in service. They didn't seem to have some of the desserts which were pre-ordered either. Last year went very well but I wont be going there again and I feel sure the club won't be booking there again.Milk was spilt on the floor but not mopped up straight away which is a health and safety issue particularly since a few of us are disabled with walking sticks and frames. Come on owners, get down there and save your livelihood. I was tempted to go to the kitchen and help with the organisation, it just needs proper management, the young lads did their best but they were not equipped to deal with a large group of orders. One young lad did apologise for the service but as i said previously and to him, its not his fault.
