Giannino's in West Lothian

We are so lucky to have Gianinnos in Broxburn! The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were absolutely first class as per usual! We’ve never had a bad experience here. You can always be sure you’ll have a great lunch or dinner. If you haven’t tried it, go! You won’t be disappointed!

Haven't been here for a few years, but we decided to make a return visit for my husbands birthday as the food before had always been really tasty. There was 5 in our party, we had shared garlic pizza bread for starters which was really delicious. We ordered various pasta dishes, my son had a calzone which he ate every single last crumb, and my husband opted for lamb chops which were cooked to perfection. All 5 of us agreed it was probably the best italian in West Lothian! Amazing food and the service was second to none.

First time visit to this restaurant. We were met by friendly staff. the food was beautiful with timely service. Staff extremely attentive, overall a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back. Thank you Gianninos

This is a lovely little place. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious. You would almost miss it, but keep your eyes peeled as it's well worth a visit. The pornstar martini was excellent too.

Lovely friendly local family run Italian with a great atmosphere and attentive but friendly staff. Great menu and drinks. We had a pizza and sea bass with scallops, all of which was beautiful. Highly recommend.

This is simply the best Italian in West Lothian. The food is consistently good and the fact that it's hard to get a reservation speaks volumes. The servers treat you like family and the atmosphere is brilliant. The wine choice is extensive. Just amazing !

Hands down the best Italian food I've ever eaten in Scotland or England. Great atmosphere, the staff were super friendly, and service was quick but was not made to feel rushed at all. Highly recommend if you are in the area, fantastic little place.

It was a Thursday night. Temperature was inching towards zero all afternoon. Wind chill factor high, yet cosy Gianninos was packed. Rammed in fact, and the atmosphere was terrific. It was our first visit and we were impressed with the service and the food. We were with two regulars who have not had a bad meal there. A good recommendation. And the verdict? Good meal, great surroundings and really attentive, pleasant and efficient staff. It's a extensive menu with 13 starters, you could, of course, have nibbles and there were six of them, and there were 15 pasta alternatives, 12 pizza (12in) alternatives plus four grill picks, plus sauces, three veal alternatives plus catch of the day fish and three other offers and three chicken choices.That's more than enough for even the most discerning and picky diner. Cozze Marinara, freshly cooked mussels steamed in white wine, garlic, tomato sauce, served with a slice of home made Italian bread was irresistible. It lived up to expectations and we had to use the spoon provided to scoop up the juice. Prociutto Melone was another pick and was well received and then on to mains. Two rump steaks - no sauce - were appreciated and so was the pollo surf and turf, chicken with king prawns with pancetta, garlic, wine and chilli served with potatoes and veg. The house penne also went down well. No room for desert for three but one could not resist the apple pie and, on this occasion, custard. Enjoyable? Yes, and we were one of the last to leave.

Food very enjoyable and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Our Taxis let us down so the owner gave us a lift back to the Hotel. Outstanding service. Will be back next year

It's 10.30pm, the night before the wedding. Our pizza van is in an unfortunate road accident, and unable to cater for our wedding. One quick phone call to Giannino's, they're more than happy to do us 40 pizzas for a very reasonable price - they even throw in a complimentary bottle of bubbly! We had so many guests after the wedding raving about the pizza. We popped in with some friends a few weeks later for lunch - staff could not have been more friendly and gave us a wee discount, made us feel so loved. Thank you Giannino's - you're our go to pizza place in West Lothian!

Been coming here for the last 9 years. But tonight even the carbonara was very different to the usual standards. Was like a different restaurant all together. Not creamy at all and lacking flavour completely. Before smaller portion but flavour was their. Even my partner said her pasta special of the day wasent that’s great and lacking flavour, pasta even tasting pre cooked. She also throughout the years never complained about the food as we are regulars. What’s happened??

The best Italian food served by the nicest people. Owned by the lovely Fabrizio who knows every customer and makes dining in his restaurant such a pleasure.

We moved to Broxburn recently and people kept saying we had to try this restaurant , wow we weren’t disappointed, food excellent, also service. Now a definite favourite for us.

Ate here af the weekend as we were in the area for a wedding. From the outside this place doesn't look too great but don't let that put you off!!! There is a moderate size menu of Italian dishes which includes pizzas. We had the sharing antipasti which was tasty, the brushetta was delish!! I had the lobster ravioli which was well filled and served in a light 🍅 sauce. I also had the ice cream sundae which was served with hazlenut and rum and was really good too. All four in the group had something different and all enjoyed their meals. We had 3 courses each and a bottle of red wine all for £172 which I thought was pretty good value. Service was good too. It was busy so I'd imagine better to book to avoid disappointment.

Visited as a large family group (18) for a birthday dinner. A lovely small family ran restaurant and the food was delicious. One or two drunks were in but did not cause any issues there. A very enjoyable evening.

Absolutely outstanding food and service ! Has to be up there with top Italian in Scotland . Really really enjoyed the food and the service was first class Well done on an excellent establishment that ran like clockwork ( was busy when we were in ) food was top quality ingredients even the balsamic vinegar was very good quality . You get what you pay for maybe slightly expensive but it is worth it and didn’t mind paying at all ! Excellent:)

We visited on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was busy so I would recommend booking in advance. The staff were extremely friendly and were happy to recommend wines to accompany our menu choices. I would recommend the scallops as the way they were presented with the black pudding, chorizo and sauce was amazing. I then opted for the fillet steak with balmoral sauce which was cooked to perfection. First class meal in a lovely atmosphere.

8 of us visited this restaurant. The atmosphere was festive and friendly. Drinks order taken and as if by magic the drinks promptly appeared at the table. Various starters and mains ordered we had a great opportunity to view the choices of others. Steaks had been recommended and my fillet steak with scallops and Diane sauce was exceptional. All positive comments and agreement that we would return at the earliest opportunity, I mean excuse. We will be back as a group and individually. The staff deserve a special mention, well done guys.

They took us to Giannino’s for dinner and what a dinner! I had, minestrone soup, spaghetti bolognese, and pepperoni pizza. It was ALL PERFECT! Everything was light and melt in your mouth delicious. And then… I still had room for apple pie and ice cream! The food was great, the service was excellent, and the restaurant was family friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back on my next visit.

Staying nearby having travel from Leeds to visit Edinburgh Zoo. Looked up this place on trip advisor, couldn’t have been happier. Pleasant staff, especially the ‘young man’ who served us, food all freshly made and delicious, reasonably priced. Would recommend to anyone.

Ruined my Chrustmas lunch with my work. Never ever have I had such poor food, I can prepare better italian food at home from scratch (honestly). I was sold smelly scallops, wet tagliatelle, no sauce, a garlic pizza bread that was like a plastic frizby. Aldos(chippy) in Uphall does better pasta's and Pizzas (no joke). Save your money for real Italian food, get yourself into Vittorias on the bridge in Edinburgh for some real Italian hearty food & top class hospitality.

Lovely family run restaurant with high quality food and wine. The ribeye steak was excellent. The wine accompanying the meal was also lovely. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The standard here is a lot higher than you would might be expecting with the location. A definite alternative to going into town.

We visited for my wifes birthday in September 2020, it was our first meal out since lockdown restrictions were lifted. The coronavirus instructions were clearly displayed on the door and on each table, and they were politely explained to us when we were seated. The service was friendly and attentive without being too much. The menus and specials were explained, and our drinks order taken and served quickly.The food we ordered was freshly cooked and tasty with clean plates all round - our party included our 4 kids so no mean feat!All in the bill was about £15 per head, so good value too. Had lunch with my sister at Giannino's yesterday 9/9/20.First of all, we were very reassured that up-to-date Covid measures were clearly explained & followed in very calm fashion.Staff all very attentive, courteous, kind & good humoured. Food was delicious - she had chicken & I burger with all trimmings. We shared a pudding - Eton Mess - and as well as the extra spoon we were both pretty sure we had been given an uber-portion as it was being split 2 ways!Finally, prices very reasonable. Would unhesitatingly recommend to anyone.

Third visit since reopening. Early evening 25 August.Usually very friendly, reliable food. Very slow service.. not as friendly as usual. Food not as hot. Granddaughter had risotto.. we all tried it, could only be described as Ambrosia with Mushrooms.. nobody asked if the food was ok. Complained when plates cleared... reaction just a shrug .Complained as we were paying the bill. "Sold plenty (by 7.30??), nobody's complained, I'm not allowed to reduce the bill"Had my grandkids not been with me I'd have been more aggressive and refused to pay. WARNING, about as Italian as McDonald's and pricey..

Excellent meal brilliant attentive staff nothing is problem for them it is still the best Italian Restaurant we have been to we used to come here years ago but just stopped going have been twice in the last six weeks and will hope to return again in the near future

We dined here at their Hogmanay night to celebrate New Year and so glad we did. What a fabulous meal and entertainment with attentive service. The staff could not have done any more to make it a fabulous night to remember. Well done to all. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

In the past I've been many times over the years. Recently twice in one month.The new chef is outstanding! The food and flavours are amazing. All the staff are friendly,smiling and attentive. As soon as you walk in you can feel the ambience. Its a fab restaurant that caters for everyone. Give it a visit, you wont regret it. I recomend booking in advance especially at weekends.

Family of 4 went for a birthday celebration. This is our usual goto place a couple of times a year for birthdays and it's always been great food.... Got to say though this time it was amazing. All of us were raving about how good the food was. I had the fillet steak which was perfect and the wife had the rack of lamb... I'm not normally a lamb fan but this was delicious. The chef even popped out to ask what we thought of the food, which was nice. Upon speaking to the waitress we did enquire about the chef and were told he has only been there a few months... As I said its always been good, but with the newer chef it's even better... All the staff were great and we had a great night. Well worth a visit.

Our first visit to Giannino’s did not disappoint. We had a table for 4 on a Wednesday night and the food was delicious. The staff were also amazing and very attentive, even the chef came out to talk to us and discuss the food he had just prepared. We had a couple of meals from the ‘specials’ board and they were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.

While on vacation from Ontario, we ate here twice in the last two-weeks. The food is always excellent and the wait staff are first class. A big shout out to Audrey who made our dinning experience great as always. My Moms still lives locally and this is her favourite place to eat so naturally this is where we take her out for dinner. Nicely decorated, something for everyone on the menu, nice wine selection. They don't rush you out of the door once you have finished. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

The establishment is well lit and lovely, the food is great, but I can't recommend the staff. I never bother with the place anymore since I had a party before my wedding and a man who I believe was the owner seemed a bit pushy. I mean, we were paying for drinks and a huge meal but I felt like they were quite distant and made everything a bit uncomfortable. Anyway, their food is fine enough if you're looking for something to eat. Pumpkin ravioli is my prime choice, and also the oysters.

I took my adult daughter to this lovely restaurant. I’d booked a week in advance, and I’m sure we’d never have got a table for two on a Friday night if I hadn’t!

Doesn’t look much from outside but .....

The food and staff were great. We ordered shrimp risotto (4/5), scallop tomato pasta (5/5), another pasta dish, penne picante (4/5) and two pizzas, both delicious. We also had beers and desserts and we celebrated a birthday, I mentioned it during the booking and they made sure to come out with a candle and celebrated with us. All came down to £75. I think it’s a little bit overpriced but I’d still definitely recommend. I can’t wait to go back!

Having had dinner previous evening in St Andrews,we now had dinner with friends and family.Service was excellent,waitresses very attentive towards the children.Everyone enjoyed the food apart from one who chose Fritto Misto,she had it here before but felt this time too much squid.All in all excellent evening.

This is a great restaurant. The food is very good and the service too - attentive but not intrusive. An extensive menu too and plenty my husband could have as a coeliac. We didn't see or ask for a gluten-free menu but there was plenty on the main menu that was naturally gluten-free.

I visited the Restaurant with my partner as I was working in the area, we found the service, the atmosphere and certainly the food to be First Class, plenty of choice at reasonable prices, I will return again when I am back in the area, Mr S, Yorkshire.

We visited this restaurant on a 3 day break to Scarborough having seen the good reviews. We were not disappointed. These days it takes a lot to impress me, so many restaurants generally or more like fast food outlets.

Giannino's provides excellent, friendly service and very good food. Main courses are available at a variety of prices and the dessert menu is strongly recommended. Booking is advisable as they are frequently very busy.

The food and the service we received was perfect, although the last time before this visit our waitress was Audrey, who we were really looking forward to being served by this time, that was our ONLY disappointment though.

A great little restaurant serving Italian food at a very high standard. The menu is extensive and very well priced. The staff cannot do enough for you and the owner is alway there cooking or just chatting to customers.

We had dined here in the past and it was okay, nothing special. However this visit was GREAT from the booking through service and the wait staff. The menu is not extensive but what they have is very good home cooking and presented very well. The décor is relaxing and you are not rushed to make your selections. Friendly wait staff who will make recommendations if required. The deserts are amazing and the home made ravioli to die for. Nice wine selection. Would recommend

When I visit my brother & sister in law in near by Livingston we always make a point of going.. I have been 3 times already this year ,, Giannino, Paul & the Girls are brilliant they look after us so well , can't do enough for their clientele and that's why people return time after time.. The food is superb I'm making my self hungry just thinking about it fillet steak & sauce mmmmmm would definitely recommend to anyone

Went here last night for birthday meal. Service, food, atmosphere, drink, all outstanding! Their bruschetta is the best I’ve had! Pasta and pizza flavours, awesome, as well as piping hot! Attentive staff, always there when we required them. Best restaurant in West Lothian by far.

Chanced our arm by popping into Giannino's at 17:30 on a Saturday evening. Table sorted, service, food and wine all Excellent!! The choice of the menu is terrific and the value for money is incredible. Honestly, highly recommended

A gem of a restaurant which you could pass by. Have been several times now and never disappointed with the food or service. From mixed fish plates, sea bass, pizza (and a made to order calzone). Staff are very helpful and attentive. Would recommend and will be back.

We were having a few days away in Scotland and decided to search trip advisor for an Italian restaurant near to our hotel.

Always enjoyed dining in this place and never disappointed. Highly recommend for couples, family dinners and special occasions.

We came here off the cuff and was met by a friendly chap who found us a table.

I made a point to review this restaurant, their kindness saved us! We were desperate for a place to eat and this was one of the VERY few that were open! We felt so bad because it was near their closing time and we were the only ones there, but they were still so friendly and accommodating! We Ubered there but when we were ready to leave no Ubers were out anymore! They were so nice and called a cab for us, then let us stay there to wait for our long awaiting cab. They were so, so kind and they saved us! Oh... not to mention the food is superb, and the place was beautiful!

Giannino's has been open for several years now in Broxburn and is a well established restaurant. It has a well deserved reputation for good quality Italian Fayre, we have only chosen from the a la carte menu which is extensive.

We visited this restaurant recently as my friend lives close by and highly recommended it. The food was brilliant, we had 3 courses each and ended up all sharing mains because everything was so good. The Aubergine starter and both gnocchi dishes were particularly good. Lots of veggie options too choose from which was great. The staff were really friendly and service was quick. It worked out at £23pp for 3 courses and a soft drink which is excellent value for money.

We as family go to Giannino’s relatively often. It’s family friendly, great staff good value tasty food, it does pretend to be more than that and it works well for repeat business. Will be back soon I’m sure.

Always a happy friendly place to go have a quiet meal or ideal for groups . Food is always exceptional. Wine even better. They do early evening menu as well as al la carte. Specials board a must.

Dined here as our last meal of a week-long holiday and weren't disappointed. Superb food, great menu, friendly staff. As a connoisseur of Tiramisu, including many sampled in Italy, the one here - freshly made in the afternoon, ranked among the best ever. There were five in our party; we all ate something different, and every meal was spot on. Cannot recommend it too highly. One word of caution - suggest to book well in advance. We had tried late the day before and it was full.

Giannino's is just the best, we call in at least two or three times a month to have lunch or dinner and also book for special family meals. The food and service is second to none Fabio is a fantastic host and chef and the staff are brilliant nothing is too much trouble for them. Everyone we have ever taken there cannot wait to go back again. Love it.
