Not quite worth the hype and price point. Over priced cake.

Ordered a Bertha to be delivered on my fiancé’s birthday, in advance on the website. It turned up at 10am on the special day in perfect condition, over the moon. Pricey, but worth it.

Pre ordered 3 slices for delivery on 3rd December. Only 2 slices delivered.

Travelled 2 hours for a slab of the bruce/Bertha cake... It was OK, I expected to be in love with it but unfortunately not, not massively different from a supermarket cake but I'm glad I went still

Bored after the first bite (Bertha) Seriously, this cake is all about the looks. Don't waste your money! Get the ingredients and bake it yourself, it will definitely taste better!!

Faye was great at helping me choose, the armadillo pie was fantastic. The Bertha though is over priced. To me it tastes the same as any supermarket box mix cake, so disappointed with that.

Def be going back amd trying the brownies ..that cake is sooo good ..i behaved amd ate in 2 days lol

Finally got a big old slice of Bertha/Bruce after years of following the Get Baked journey since being a student in Leeds, way back in 2011. It did not disappoint. 10/10 would recommend. Unless you're diabetic. Microwaving is a game changer 🤤 probably going to take me a week to finish

Went in and was stuck for choice due to the very large number of options to get! Eventually (with help) narrowed it down to two, and a very kind lady did a 2for1 deal for me and my girlfriend. We were given a large movie night and chocolate fudge brownie pie slice for just £7! Just tried the movie night special edition pudding, and it was AMAZING, thank you very much for your kindness and most importantly good recommendation

It was my son’s birthday and requested for unmatched “Bertha”, the dark chocolate cake by Get Baked. We travelled all the way from Doncaster to Leeds for the treat. We are amazed with the customer service at the first impression leveraged by the super tasty Bertha. Ms. Courtney at the customer services presented a complimentary cookie for my son as a birthday gift from Get Baked which is an extremely nice gesture from her. No surprise that they are one of the busiest bakery in town. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Can't rate service/atmosphere as we ordered online. Tried the bruce cake - probably the worst chocolate cake I've ever eaten. No flavour in the sponge or the ganache and it tasted horribly plastic. The texture is nothing like sponge cake, I don't know what they used but the texture was more akin to playdough than cake. We paid £27 and my partner agrees with the above - absolute rip off and not worth the hype at all.

My boyfriend got me the sticky toffee pudding to try as it is my fav dessert. I’m not a huge sweet tooth but I’ve had many sticky toffee puddings over the years and this was without a doubt the best I’ve ever had. Tasted amazing and the texture was bang on, i probably could’ve ate the whole tray. 10/10

Ordered from here mid August, decided to get a slice of Bruce for me and my girlfriend before his retirement (happy retirement Bruce). Not sure why so many people complained about never being able to get a slice, I simply went on the website at 10am, checked out and went about my day. Bruce arrived on the Tuesday and what a delight he was, lovely stuff. Looking forward to trying Bertha sometime.

I ordered online and within 1 minutes the single cake slice had sold out! BUT I was lucky enough to snatch a bundle offer of the bertha cake slice and huge bombs!! The Bertha cake slice is absolutely delicious! Either have it cold or a little warm! Either way it's just so moist and tasty! The fudge bombs unfortunately were not great, didn't like the taste and the outside coating.

We are so lucky to have had Bruce as our wedding cake - he really was loved by all! We can’t wait try Bertha next. The service is always wonderful at Get Baked, the amount of choice is so good - I don’t think you could make a bad choice. Believe the hype! Cheers for helping make our big day extra special!

The hype is worth it! Bertha is absolutely amazing. You can tell the quality of the ingredients is really high, and that it’s been made with such skill and attention to detail. Was still amazing the next day, but didn’t last any longer than that as everyone loved it. Would 10/10 recommend.

This is one of the best shops in Leeds for cakes and desserts. Very friendly staff with a variety of sweet delicious choices. As a delivery driver, I can honestly say it's one of the cleanest, friendliest and fastest-serving establishments based in Headingley Leeds

Got some cookies and the birthday pudding a couple of weeks ago. The food was nice but honestly had way better for the price and they got our order wrong. Very slow service.

Managed to get an order of the Bertha cake. It arrived well packaged. Honestly I was disappointed, basic but nice chocolate cake, which we enjoyed. A Lot smaller than it looks on their website. Not worth the money paid. Overhyped product.

This is the best place! The staff are fantastic and the selection is better than anywhere else!

The baked goods speak for themselves really, cracking cakes, amazing pies and the cookies are SO underrated. But the fantastic customer service from the team, both in store and online, is just another reason to keep coming back.

I managed to get a slice of Bertha Cake before they sold out the other day. It arranged in perfect condition. Me and the kids polished it off pretty quickly. It was a pretty nice chocolate cake, I have to say it wasn’t as amazing as I had thought it would be. It was pleasant, but an M&S chocolate cake is nicer .

Not great service, went in and the guy just stared at me, I said it's my first time here, what would you recommend, the chap reluctantly went through a few things, I made my choice, got a pie, not great tasting and for the price it was over rated, I don't mind paying good money for good food, this wasn't it, very sticky and the biscuit on top was unbreakable so ate around it, probably my only time visiting

Was able to snag a ticket to the launch of Bertha at Fortnum & Mason this week and let me tell you standing in line waiting in the rain was completely worth it!! We shared this slice over several days and it was just as moist and delicious on day 3 as it was on day 1!! The texture and flavor were superb and perfect for anyone who loves chocolate!

Went to the fortnums pop up and bought everything + the book. The Bertha / Bruce cake was insane. Everything I wanted it to be and more.

I had the luck to go to the pop up at Fortnum & Mason, and the Bertha cake has some serious staying power! Moist for DAYSSS, just delicious as the day I got it and it’s crazy. Ate it with my family and one slice is more than enough for 4-6 people. (The photo is us demolishing it.) The Knickerbocker Pie is my favourite, I wish I had bought more than one slice to be honest!

I’ve tried the original Bruce and also BERTHA!!! We can confirm we prefer Bertha and we were lucky enough to go to the launch of Bertha at Fortnum & masons. We had the privilege of actually meeting Rich, and I can’t praise his patience with my autistic daughter enough!! It was a busy morning but he still took the time to speak to her and gave her time to talk ( which doesn’t always come easy to her) and even though she might not have made an awful lot of sense he didn’t try to rush away he took the time to actually try to understand & gave her a signed book. Honestly he seems like a really genuine guy and makes delicious cakes. Highly recommend everyone try Bertha as soon as they can.

Bruce cake was nice (velvety rich and chocolatey) but bit expensive for what it is. Comes as one slice for £16! But i'd say can get 3 smaller portions/slices from it as pictured. Worth a try but i'd say overpriced, probably worth £12.

Makes me want to move to Leeds to make this my family weekly treat

Lemon meringue pie is lovely BUT to my taste there's wayyy too much meringue. The beauty of a lemon meringue pie is that the sharpeness of the lemon counteracts the overwhelming sweetness of the meringue. Sadly there's too much meringue/not enough lemon filling to achieve this effect so you're left with said overwhelming sweetness. Still a beautiful pie tho the meringue is perfect.

The Bruce and the pies are absolutely unreal and the customer service is incredible! I’ve had delivery and been to the store. Both amazing!

Just little ol’ me thinking “how good could it be!?” and then it goes and smashes every other chocolate cake to smithereens. I generally am more of a tea cake kind of girl and do not like overly fudgey cakes, but Bruce, despite his 24 layers, is not dense and the cake layers perfectly light, moist and deliciously chocolatey. The ganache is the best ganache I have ever eaten. Velvety smooth, not a hint of acidity. My partner had been wanting to try this for about 2 years and one morning the fates aligned and I secured a slice. I must’ve been quite lucky or perhaps it was just meant to be.

Whilst visiting family up North,my wife surprised me & got me a slice of Bruce delivery to the in laws via Deliveroo - I've been craving a slice since first seeing it on Tiktok the other year. The long wait was deffo worth it,I'm currently drip feeding myself 1 layer of Bruce every other night until it's gone.

Absolute joke get a bigger kitchen kicked off by your system had cake in basket came 10.02 gone ? Waited 4 months for this date and was on 10min b4 hand Take it off sale if your supply is that poor very Mature and professional comment from the owner when it's not the first time you've heard how poor your system is as very one can see on your tic tok and trust pilot

Got a milk bundle, you have to be quick but it’s worth it. Also tried Bruce pudding which is 10/10

Absolutely can’t fault Get Baked. I’ve ordered from them multiple times for delivery and each one is packaged perfectly. The quality of the ingredients used in the Bruce cakes and puddings are perfection. Highly recommend!

Excellent packaging. One of the best chocolate cakes I’ve had in the UK.

Believe the hype. We couldn’t have asked for a better addition to our wedding than a Bruce and a butt load of cookies. The customer service was impeccable. Due to unforeseen circumstances, there had to be a rush put on this order. Rich was in constant contact with my friend, and between them worked out a way to get Bruce + cookies up from Leeds to Scotland in plenty of time for the wedding. Rich also called me, making sure I knew not to worry, telling me he’d ‘drive them to Scotland himself’ if he had to. Plenty of guests called the cookies ‘superior’ to all others, and I have been told one guest woke up with a cookie still in hand. There were literal gasps when Bruce appeared. I cannot thank them enough for their dedication to cake, and for adding such a special touch to our day.

Chocolate fudge cake is my go to dessert. I have searched high and low for the best chocolate fudge cake and some have hit the spot but there always seems to be something missing. I went to get baked whilst in Leeds completely expecting to be let down and continue the hunt. Bruce is THE BEST chocolate fudge cake I have ever had. I ate him driving the way home. I then returned for another. I warmed this up. 20s in the microwave (big slice ofc) - beautiful. I immediately set an alarm on my phone to get the Bruce delivered from Leeds as I was not returning that week. 3 weeks on the bounce I have now had Bruce. The only downside is I now cannot have any other chocolate fudge cake without being wholly disappointed and longing for Bruce. I miss Bruce. I hope Bruce misses me. I worry that Bruce may bankrupt me

We bought a piece of bruce and a few slices of pie. There is no cake quite like it. I'm telling myself I can totally make it, but in reality, I know I absolutely can't, haha. Excellent products overall. Love it.

We were in the area so absolutely HAD to try a slice of Bruce. We ordered our slice and popped back a little later when it was ready. Service was great, it’s well packaged and most importantly, it tasted delicious! There was enough to comfortably serve 4 adults. We will definitely be back

Want to get a chocolate slice cake as I saw a photo from my friends. Unfortunately it was sold out and I bought the bottle of cake scarp instead. Chocolate good, but better with ice cream or yoghurt. The shop is not big and is just opposite to the park. By Google map you will find out. Support independent talented people shop anyway.

I’ve been searching for a good banoffee pie for years but none ever quite hit the spot. The banoffee pie from Get Baked is just amazing, it’s the best I’ve ever tried and it’s become my favourite dessert!

Probably the best chocolate cake I have tasted! Managed to get two different orders recently after taking about four months for me to get the first. It only took the wife one attempt to get the second one. Great to see such a small business grow and go from strength to strength. It disappoints me to see all the negative comments and feed back just because they have been unsuccessful in placing an order. If they want it that bad they should drive up to the actual store.

So much choice in one cosy shop! Went for the Cereal Killa, absolutely delicious, sweet but not overly so, husband had the lemon meringue pie & thoroughly enjoyed it, we've ordered from here on a previous visit, was also delicious then, luckily I don't live locally or I'd be in here all the time...Highly recommended 🙂

Believe the Hype. We made a 2 hour trip from the toon yesterday and there was a queue bang on 12 when get baked opened. The staff on site Phil, and behind the scenes Paul, displayed the best customer service. The cakes and pies have been some of the best things I have ever eaten. I will 💯 return in the future but only after I've been on a serious diet. Bruce can only be described as a life changing experience, along with the cereal killa pie. The cookie, brownies, Bruce balls. I literally have eaten nothing that isn't unreal. Can't wait to see where Get Baked go next!

Unreal bakery got 2 slices of Bruce a slice of mud pie and lemon meringue pie every so good but I'll be having to make the hour and a half drive every month to get something

Got the wrong order sent to me which included name and address of someone else. Poor customer service and no response to whether my name and address has been sent to someone else. It was a wedding anniversary gift for my wife so very disappointed the wrong order turned up. Won’t be purchasing from here again. Save your money and purchase from a company who cares about their customers.

This may be the best chocolate cake on EARTH. I managed to place an order three months ago and since then I continuously order it. Where do I start, the packaging is incredible and they’ve clearly put a lot of money into it. My delivery guy throws my package over my gate and the cake remains in immaculate condition. The cake is heavy and dense but when you eat it, it’s actually light and you can keep going on and on. It has the perfect amount of sweetness. The ganache and sponge are 50/50 - a perfect balance. Moist. Tasty, MOREISH. Rich, yes but some damn good cake. Their Bruce balls are also a 5/5. I think these are slept on but they could possibly be better than the cake!! Cookies are also 5/5. Buttery and sweet. Lovely Also, the owner is an absolute joker. So funny on social media. I have tried the OG Bruce cake and balls, Milk Bruce and balls, Bruce Jar and cinnamon cookies and raspberry icing ones. All incredible Cannot wait to order again very soon PS: all that have tried this cake from me LOVE IT

Just Baked has just opened on North Lane Headingley. Good choice of desserts available from alternative Lemon Merigue and a variety of cookies. There is also a good choice of hot drinks. I bought a sllce of the Drunken Tailor with a salted caramel layer and 1 slice of the Blackened Cheesecake with raisins in a yummy syrp. Cost £5 each. It's definitely worth it and just so scrumptious. 100%recommended. Excellent cakes, well cooked, fantastic flavour, varied choice........so much to choose 😋

Like others I've tried for weeks to order a Bruce, the website isn't designed for handling multiple requests for a limited amount of stock. I've had an item in my basket 3 times, only to be put in a queue to check out and eventually be told my order is out of stock. If I have something in my basket, it should be allocated to me and removed from saleable stock. DM'd on Insta only to receive a childish response. Clearly this guy doesn't care about his reputation, only clicks on social media. *Update* just been called a c*nt by the owner, seems like a nice chap who definitely deserves your business Avoid and buy local

Ordered a cookie selection online. They were delivered in good condition great packaging but unfortunately did not enjoy them at all. Sickly sweet and not great texture. There are much better options out there for home delivery.

Best cake shop ever! Is worth traveling far and wide for! Banoffe Pie and Milk Bruce are my faves

All the different items we bought were tasty and unique! It was the first time going there for us but we definitely enjoyed how many options of bakes they had. Maybe I could say the prices are a little on the over priced side but we paid regardless, I think the packaging is probably where the costs are coming from but the packaging was very high quality and branding seemed top tier!

Purchased a Bruce bundle and found a hair in the jar of Bruce. The cake also tasted quite stale and dry. This was disappointing, saw the hype on social media and was excited for it to arrive. It is difficult to purchase as they sell out quick. However, it didn’t live up to the hype. The entire order just tasted stale and dry, I spent £35 in total including delivery. But, I would not return to purchase any time soon. Hopefully, the company can take some measures to prevent hair falling into food.

A Disgrace, found a hair in one of the slices of frankenpie (£60), emailed in and got no reply for over a week, rang the shop they promised the owner rich would ring me, got an email for my number from him then nothing, the owner loves sitting on Instagram commenting and posting daily but doesn't even care about replying to hair in his cakes (im not the first to leave a review for hairs in cakes), doesnt care obviously his ego is taking over, we're local and have been supporting get baked and this is how you're treat.

Just had my second delivery from Get Baked. The first was Bruce and WOW, the best. Today I had the mixed selection of cookies and a packet of sprinkles. The packaging is incredible, everything arrives perfectly and very fresh. The cookies are insane. My favourite was the birthday cookie and cinnamon roll, my daughter loved RGDC and the other half loved the triple chocolate!!!

Had my first Bruce delivery this week and OMG it’s definitely lived up to the hype! I have had the biggest smile on my face eating my slice today x

On my last trip to Leeds in October decided that I needed to try Bruce whilst nearby, arrived just before opening time, so no queue. Ordered Bruce, birthday cookie and as it was chilly a s’mores mocha, I was then persuaded to get the Cereal Killer pie slice. Was a speedy and pleasant experience. The mocha was to die for the marshmallow worked perfectly with the mocha, the pie and cookie was delicious. As the cake was just for me took a couple days to eat, following the instructions. Will happily try again when next in Leeds or even when they open in Manchester!

For all those who gave 1 star for not being able to get ur hands on the cake slice … I am trying as well for last 2 months ..but still giving 5 star ⭐️ because m sure it’s good if it sells so quick … I will still keep trying 😍

Spent bloody months trying to get a Bruce… it’s in demand so completely expected. Was very excited to get one and it’s very impressive, an enormous piece of cake! Those who complain and deliberately put a one star review because they can’t get a slice should get a life. Really want the lemon meringue.

I got a Bruce bundle a few months ago with a milk and an original slice in after trying a few times to get a single slice It was amazing and 10000% worth the money . All these reviews of people trying for months ect and not getting anywhere clearly aren’t listening to the company when they say you’ve got a better shot at getting Bruce with the bundles rather than spending your time solely on getting single slices . If you really want Bruce that bad you’d just listen or go to the bakery it’s self (which I’ll be doing at some point soon ) Me and my partner have also said Bruce will definitely be our wedding cake it’s that good !!

Leaving a 1 star review because you weren't able to get Bruce in the post is really scummy behaviour. The food here is exceptional and they're clearly doing everything they can to make more product to send out as postal orders. Don't forget, they are a shop, if you want Bruce so bad, go get one.

After seeing him all over my IG feed, I managed to nab myself a big ol’ slice of Bruce on my 2nd try ordering online and he did not disappoint! He’s a big dirty boy, so mouth-wateringly chocolatey and rich! I don’t know what wizardry they came up with to create him but he’s bloody gorg! Can’t wait to try more flavour combos GB come up with too!

When I first arrived in Leeds for Uni in 2011, Get Baked was one of the first things I was told about by mates that were already there Over the 3 years we went from late night cake/drinks/snacks/t-shirt delivery, to an almost weekly "Mr Nice Guys" and towards the end of my time there, regular trips to "The Joint" Fast forward a few years, i've ordered nationwide delivery multiple times and also driven from Manchester to Leeds on a few occasions just to visit the shop Everything these guys do is 10/10. The cookies are without doubt the best i've tasted in my life, the pies are out of this world, Bruce & Bruce Balls have changed the game completely You deserve every bit of success that you get, and i'm not surprised nationwide delivery sells out as fast as it does. Long live GB!

I ordered the ‘Expensive Bundle’ and OH. MY. GOD. it was worth every penny and more. Jam packed with all things Bruce, we were literally eating Bruce for a week.

Tried twice to get a bundle Bruce... Got one in the bag today, coming next Tuesday. No complaints here. I suggest people get better internet connection or try harder next time. 🤣
