Gerrad's Corner Restaurant in City of London, Westminster

Great dim sum in the heart of Chinatown. If you like dumplings and shumai look no further. Made to order it’s totally worth the wait. Chinese dishes are good too. Been here a few time and have never been disappointed.

My wife and I ate here 28 years ago, and many times since. We came back this week for our last visit together. The food is still absolutely delicious, a large selection and all freshly cooked and hot when they arrived at the table. Staff are friendly and efficient. I tried other Chinese restaurants with friends, but never found one as good as Gerard’s Corner.

Cibo tremendo, posto lercio, personale disonesto e scortese. Ci hanno fatto pagare prima che arrivassero i piatti al tavolo, senza dare subito la ricevuta e aggiungendo una tassa di servizio superiore a quella voluta, nonché un’acqua non richiesta. Quando ho fatto notare che non volevamo due acque, la cameriera ha portato via sia una bottiglia che il bicchiere della persona con cui ero. Lo scontrino, quando è arrivato, era letteralmente nel piatto dei ravioli, coperto di sugo. La cameriera, cortesemente, ha pensato bene di toglierlo da lì e di mettercelo su un piattino, anch’esso unto di suo. No comment sul cibo, che probabilmente veniva da qualche razione K dell’esercito cinese (maoista). Veramente deplorevole.

This place sucks. It really does. They tried multiple times to make us pay things we didnt order. The service was also rude. The location is dirty and the food wasnt good, we paid a 60£ for three dishes and all of them were terrible. Trust me, dont come here

Unbedingt diesen Laden meiden . Der Gast ist hier nicht willkommen. So einen unfreundlichen Service habe ich noch nie erlebt . Beim Essen werden einem die Teller weggenommen damit man schnell das Restaurant wieder verlassen muss . Das Essen selbst lässt zu wünschen übrig . Für Chinatown hätten wir mehr erwartet .

We were waiting for over 1 hour and despite asking and being told it was on its way. It never arrived. It was only the set menu so the easiest thing on the menu! There was no apology no food and a very empty stomach!

Food ok. Staff were extremely rude. Wine spilt while pouring so waitress just rubbed it into the glass. Whilst taking the order for our food another waitress shouted across the restaurant at another staff member. Food was dumped on the table. Dishes taken away aggressively. We are not all tourists to be treated badly. Staff at this place need to learn to be polite to customers. This place wants you in , take your money and get you out. Far better places in Soho than this

Terrible service and they are cheating with the prices. Clarify the price before you order the food. e.g.: The meal is minimum for 2 and price is per person so really the price is double!!! Avoid this place! You can eat better food for better price around and you must pay for service 12.5% upfront!!! Toilets are disgusting. Swerve. HOT (not very) APPETISER Seafood Dim Sum Platter (8pcs) £14.80 - average Steamed Pork Dumplings (8pcs) £10.80 - well below average. Including small bottle of Tsingtao and bottle of still water (nice bottle) total £41.40 so as read above compulsory service charge must apply and yet machine requesting ‘gratuity’ Failed to ask for itemised bill. Schoolboy. The place busy with Caucasians. No Chinese. Tells you all one needs to know. Whingeing but should’ve known better (as the song says). Service perfunctory. Maybe expecting too much for two plates of dumplings.

Been a few times now. It’s always quite tricky working out where to go in Chinatown but this place has been consistently excellent. Today we went for the dim sum menu and it was absolutely faultless and really good value. One of the tastiest meals of the year. Love the place

The food was reasonable and the price seemed reasonable...but beware if you order water and a desert. £5 for a bottle of water £27 for 2 banana fritters. Outrageous!!!

I didn't see a sign saying 12.5% service charge, also anywhere else in the UK the Jasmin tea is complementary, not here, £12 !!!! For hot water and a few leaves. They ask you if you want it when you come in but don't tell you it costs. Rip of merchants. Stay away.

This place is a rip-off. £7 for Chinese tea, 12.5% service charge which is unavoidable. Avoid and the food is terrible.

Thieves! Plain and simple. For 6 dim sum dishes and a pot of tea they charged £52!!! I got the menu which brought the food price to £36. How can you make £52 out of that, even with a pot of tea and service charge? I always went there because they have good dim sum, but I will not let anyone steal my money. The staff argued with me that the price was correct, despite me clearly showing them the menu prices. What an utter disgrace. Avoid at all cost if you don’t want to be robbed.

Myself and a few work friends visited this restaurant recently, upon being seated we were immediately extorted for a service charge before we even placed our order.
