German Doner Kebab - Walsall in Walsall

Our family's recent visit to This GDK Wallsall Branch was a major disappointment. We ordered donner boxes with fries, expecting a balanced meal, but were shocked to find the boxes containers mostly filled with fries and a meagre portion of meat. We ordered 5 Boxes and the £10 price tag per box felt like highway robbery for what was essentially just a box of Fries. I have seen other reviews as well with similar complaints so it looks like this branch has a habbit of being stingy & ripping customers off. When I approached the staff to address this issue, I was met with unprofessional behavior. Instead of acknowledging their mistake or offering a solution, one employee responded with sarcasm, saying, "If you're still hungry, I can give you more meat." This dismissive attitude only added insult to injury. While I've had positive experiences at other GDK locations, this particular branch in Walsall was by far the worst. The combination of subpar food quality, overpricing, and poor customer service has left a lasting negative impression. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this branch and would caution others against visiting as well.

The customer service even before we got the food was amazing!! All staff had a warming smile on their faces and helped us with our order. The food was served warm and they even checked on us to see if we were having a good time. Honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had.

I came here with my boyfriend for a birthday meal and it was great, it was my first time here and immediately I was made comfortable with the warm welcome from staff, once seated our food came quickly and was of a great quality, a member of the team was even kind enough to come and check our food was alright and if there was anything else we needed, will definitely come again!!

Really bad, from just eat and GDK are in denial...Walsall town centre one. I will not use neither of these places and will leave reviews on Google and tik tok where I have a high followings and left many previous reviews. I want this solving full refund! And now blocked.....by just eat.. Basically do not order online as no care is taken with your order mine was all wrong items and small portions, no one takes responsibility and the delivery drivers have a couple of phones so do multiple drops before you get your food, I waited over an hr for my food which was not even kept warm and whole order was wrong. I wanted a refund and just eat blocked me instead of resolving, quick to take money, store won't refund says money is with just eat and goes straight to head off. Absolutely disgraceful.

Disgraceful portion sizes for the price. German Doner Kebabs business taglines are "Kebabs Done Right". If this "done right" I certainly don't want Kebabs done wrong. Their other tagine is "Kebabs of the future". The future must relate to the rest of the order that I surely must be receiving in the future, to make my order seem any way value for money. This is labelled as a premium kebab shop (as high end as kebabs can get, at least), yet the quality and quality isn't a patch on most standard chip shops, who aren't supposed to be kebab specialists, like this lot. Order wrong. Another item missing. Doner meat was shriveled up and crispy, and the chicken meat was pretty much non existent on two of the dishes ordered. Staff weren't interested in resolving. I'll stick to the real quality, elsewhere - for half of the price.

Great chilled atmosphere and Waleed was very attentive and quick to serve me. I always enjoy my food here, especially a gym box on the go!

So annoyed kebab came with no sauces. Normally get 3. I paid extra for feta.. No feta cheese.. The kebab was so dry

Perfect restaurant for food. The services are amazing and the food is just like a WOw. I go there every week because I love the food and the staff who are best 10/10.

Don’t look after customers!! Clearly can’t prepare the food that’s requested hardly any meat came with the meals. Ordered from here regularly will no longer be a returning customer. Service at this branch is bang out of order staff have no concept of customer care or satisfaction.

Less doner kebab are more salad

Ordered through Just Eat, the donner meat and pitta bread was cold as end up chucking it in bin.

Make it make sense ! This place has seriously gone downhill Not sure what kitchen staff they are hiring nowadays but they either can’t read or are stingy when it comes to their meat, I could get if you were skinning it off your own flesh but when you okay for extra mix you expect extra ?! I literally got the flattest quasedillas and this has happened even when ordering wraps/og kebabs too. Are we going to have a super extra mix feature soon where you will get 10g of more meat ? I will be bringing this up when I come to the store in person myself and questioning the chef who promised it was extra meat as per charged- because right now I’m eating bread and cheese P*SS take doesn’t work on everyone remember that, you will be confronted

I come here every day after I finish work & the team here is fantastic! They are always so nice & welcoming! Naveen is always a job to talk to! Food is always done fast & tastes brilliantly! Highly recommended establishment!

This GDK restaurant is the best I have ever been to, the atmosphere is very good and cozy, the Staff are very friendly and the food is the best I have ever tried, I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is some kind of mistake that has been made in this place. Last time the food was quite tasteless and not fresh. We had stomach aches and diarrhoea. We often ordered from your place. Today my husband went for a Meal for 4 deal and the lady refused to order it. Why? Disgusting behaviour. You have a deal on the menu so why don't you want to serve it to your customers? OG Kebab itself is dry, you can suffocate, you don't add sauces only gently to the bottom because you can't taste them. Disgusting price change on the spot more expensive than on the GDK website OG Kebab £ 8.99 in the restaurant, and on the website itself £ 7.99 literally a scam. I pay less on the GDK website than in the restaurant itself. I will not order there again, nor will I come to eat there.

Ordered 3 chips and cheese boxes with flaming fries and a doner wrap meal also with flaming fries for collection. Once we got home opened the boxes and there was only a sprinkle of flaming powder on the fries in the boxes, called up as we wasn’t happy they were basically plain fries and we paid extra for what? Employee had me on the phone for around 5 mins just reading my order out to me, spoke to the manager and he did not know how to handle this complaint. Terrible service, staff need to stop rushing to get orders out and need to focus on the quality of the food. Losing customers is not the priority.

Order on Uber inside very less doner the rest fill with salad only

I went this place with one of my colleague, we had a very nice meal ( Doner box with fries and salad) Everything was very nice and fresh. We loved it, well done

I have ordered a couple of Doner Boxes from Walsall Branch today. Both yogurt and garlic sauces were spoilt. Also I ordered one regular box and two with extra meat for additional £2.99 and all had same amount of meat. Really disappointed & hoping the sauce will not give me food poisoning. I used to order a lot from you but not any more

Good service and staff was polite and friendly and food was excellent and atmosphere was quiet when I went in but would recommend going and trying the food out.

One of the bad wrap i ever had , I ordered a mix wrap with chicken and beef but it only came with burnt and dry beef impossible to eat i had to bin it. the food quality is not the same as before.

Doner mix box kebab was very oily (( and be careful with jalapeno they now smell terrible and bad tasty feeling like sour fermented spoiled

Ordered a payday treat for myself. Which we can all ill afford these days Always had good food from here however, do not order delivery!! The food comes cold and needs heating up. I'd say something to do with putting an ice cold can of pop in the same bag, cooling the food down even further. Coupled with an half hour journey (should only take 10 minutes) I ordered an OG kebab and upgraded to the large curry fries, Large it was not. So for £18 I'll not be doing that again. Give me the local Chinese anyday!

Always grab the boss box from here, very worth it as u get a full meal with 2 extra spring rolls and a drink. It's halal too which is always good to know. Good Food at this branch however some items have a questionable price 🤣

So.... The food is what GDK wants to be. The place can be improved for the customers side of things. The staff are not very friendly, but they're good at preparing the food. I love food and for that I'll rate this place 4 out of 5 stars ✅😊👍

I placed an order for a doner box that included fries and cheese, with an extra serving of cheese, as well as a can of Coke. I frequently notice the shop while driving by and regret my choice to stop and make a purchase. The meat was quite bland; I had both doner and chicken. The portion sizes were relatively small in relation to the price, which I found to be quite high. I have had better doner and chicken from a standard fish and chip shop, which does not rely on extravagant lighting, logos, or similar payment systems to McDonald's. Furthermore, the person who added cheese to my fries had wet hands, resulting in water dripping onto the food. Is this considered hygienic? This was my initial visit, and it will certainly be my last.

Normally would give GDK a 5 star. Just got an extra large mix box, took it home. It’s barely a small portion. Feeling very disappointed, especially when I’ve been used to such high standards at GDK usually.

Disappointed with the food and level of customer service! We ordered 2 donner box and fries and a Jr donner kids meal. The burger was drenched and soggy with ketchup and the donner in the boxes was cold! Sent the boxes back to change. The guy in the back named "ADIL" Had an issue with changing it and continued to argue with the lady on the counter! We could hear the conversation. I would suggest if he doesn't like his job then to leave! Cusromer service for this guy is Zero!Others complained whilst we We there too. Won't be eating here again

Asked for a Kebab portion without sides. They gave me about 200 gms of the meat and charged me £6.99. The kebab was over salted as well. Will never be buying again from GDK

I just love the donner, by the best donner i've had, much better than the other regular donner in fast food places. Also absolutely love the bread, very unique to everything else i usually have and they have a very nice and big place to eat inside, very spacious.

Awesome food. Clean eatery. Free WiFi. Toilet facilities. Friendly staff. I had to wait an agonising 13 minutes for my food but check this out. Ok so I’ve eaten this food. Was it tasty? It was ok. Was there good value for money? Not really. Were the chips good? No. Will you return? Maybe but I won’t break my kneck. DO NOT USE WISEMORE CARPARK WITHOUT PAYING FOR A CAR PARK TICKET. decent kebabs as with all branches always consistent. Very spacious inside with touchscreen ordering system. theres a mcdonalds car park at the back and you can park for free if you input your reg number on the screen in gdk

Just ordered food for delivery. What came was appalling for the price. Tiniest portions of fries, quesadilla was half empty with the smallest amount of beef in it, the kebab was slightly better but majority salad and the food was barely warm. We visit this location often and after today's delivery, we definitely won't be returning. You used to get alot for your money and we would struggle to finish the food. You also used to get 3 x sauces for each meal. Now they are 69p each?? We have both finished our meals and are now looking for something to cook which defeats the objective of ordering a takeaway.

I came in on Tuesday for an evening snack, very helpful staff who helped me with the kiosk Hafsah and Sumayyah they both helped me with the kiosk and got me seated my time in gdk was very exceptional and my food was served on my table I really enjoyed the customer service aswell as the food thanks will come back again

I have been a long standing advocate for GDK amongst my peers. Unfortunately, I've had several bad experiences at this location, from hair in my food to bad attitudes from staff. Today's staff was lacking in several areas, communication skills and customer service skills to say the least. Very disappointing, I don't think I'll be attempting to eat from there again.

App wouldn't work, website wouldn't work. Staff were no use. Completely unhelpful. Left after trying to order for nearly 30mins.

Very tasty food, I had mixed meat with fries and found the portion size a bit small compared to my families kebab wraps.

I'm German I love Türkisch Döner. The meat is good on 2 occasions it was a miss meat being too dry but every other amazing. Remove all the Salad that way you will get more meat in your OG Doner. Order in Tuesdays via app to get the 2 for Tuesday offer.

Beautiful kebabs, lovely service. You can park on the carpark and then type your reg in for free parking.

A chain kebab outlet that's uniform throughout, a bit like McDonald's but with nicer food. Other than the bread you will get far better in any town who have plenty of independent Kebab shops run by those from the regions the food originates from. Prices are higher too, for smaller portions the foods fine.

Nice little spot in Walsall for a quick munch does what it says in the tin so to speak. There is a nice selection to choose from and the menu is very clear and easy to understand. The selection of sauces are a nice touch to your meal and the prices are fair. Would recommend if you want a change from the usual kebab spots

Horrible service, came in when the store was empty, then had to wait 20 minutes for cold food while 14 people were served and fed before me whilst the blonde server was extremely rude

We had a takeaway delivery from here, it was our first time ordering and definitely not the last, the food here is amazing. We’ve tried kebabs, quesadillas chicken spring rolls and the fries. No complaints whatsoever. The kebab meat is thinly sliced which is a huge plus for me, so juicy and tasty.

Service was a little delayed but it was busy, other than that all was good

First GDK I had ever eaten was amazing 10/10 the bread was not over grilled. Second 8/10 bread slightly over grilled. Third 6/10 I think I just got bored on the flavour. Never had eaten one until December 2023 I think I just over done it. Can’t fault them he Staff and restaurant everything looked clean and tidy. Just think I’m not a big kebab person. It was Just the fact they were on offer for £5.99 in January and I enjoyed my first ever one so much.

Had the standard mixed meal with spicy fries. Was very good. The only issue was no paper menus and the sauce was at the bottom of the kebab and distributed evenly.

Unfortunately this was not the best for us. Having paid just shy of £26 for 2 veggie kebabs and cheesy chips, we received THE poorest serving! Photo below shows cheesy fries - this single portion of approximately 17 fries was £3.25!! I am shocked. The kebab was somewhat stodgy and dry. No sauce. Very disappointed .

Delivered cold, had to reheat. Expensive for what you get £25 for 2 og kebabs and a side of chips. Not a lot of meat on the kebabs. More meat and more heat it would be 5 stars. Shame.

There was hardly any kebab in the mix meat I had !! I had an order for’ £24 and it wasn’t worth it at all !!! My local chippy would have been better. 4th Time it’s happened to me and the last time . I will never be going there again ! waste of money and nothing special … Only if I took a pic before I eat it … It’s happening a lot at the Walsall branch either they need to get more training how to serve a portion or get new staff !! Wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone.. I know this review won’t get anywhere as they used to getting complaints . I heard customers complaining inside few times with staff ..!!!!!!! German donner should compensate me for the service I have had for the last 4 times . Not recommending GDK !!!!!

I had a terrible experience at Derman Doner Kebeba. Ordered at 22:29, called twice after waiting for an hour and ten minutes, only to be told the driver had already left. Drove to the restaurant, informed Minhas, but got no help—just an empty suggestion to contact Deliveroo, their delivery partner. Not only did I endure the frustration of the delayed delivery, but despite the status changing to "delivered," I never received my order. That's why I had to drive to the restaurant. The overall experience was incredibly disappointing and lacked any resolution or accountability from the staff.

Worst customer experience. Was asked to order from the kiost after having waited in the queue. When I said I wanted to order in person, the staff directed me to kiosk again. Terrible customer service. Will never go here again.

The food taste okay not as it used to be. Just had a gym box and the chicken is not even warm. The portion sizes are relatively small now compare to few months back. Food never turned up! Driver said he has delivered it when hadn't, checked outside, checked the buzzer, intercom and security camera. Wouldn't let me call zed driver funnily enough wouldn't connect. Called the restaurant who were rude, didn't even check the order and said their not willing to do anything. Had to re order somewhere else and already nearly £25 down. Complaint being made. Terrible service and will never order from here again and make sure no family or friends make the same mistake. Shamble. Customer service is dreadful. Stay clear of these!

Wow and not in a good way, not in the tiniest bit. I ordered my food and nothing was delivered. Apparently was left on my door step but can't have done as I have a security camera. Spent around £25.00 and received absolutely nothing. Spoke to two members of staff over the phone and kept telling me to call the delivery driver but the delivery driver had his phone switched off. The staff were so unhelpful and wouldn't even let me come and collect my order. So disappointed in this takeaway joint. Order from here if you dare, use to be a good takeaway as I've ordered plenty from here in the past but the last three times has really, really disappointed me 👎🏾🤦🏾‍♂️

Best Donner burger I have ever had .... Highly recommend

Did not like the food. The döner is nothing like what you get in the worst places in Berlin. The bread is decent but the döner itself is rubbery and does not taste good. The sauces and salads are all wrong and again don't taste good. It's a real disaster.
