dude, where's my food? it simply never arrived, still charged though

The food was good and we loved the flavours but it was cold keeping in mind the good timing for delivery.

It was disgusting ! I ordered GDK Doner Box Fries and it was not eatable. There was completly no meat but only a fat and disgusting skin instead of meat. Had to put it all to the bin. Will never order again from GDK.

Came in enquiring about a 3Plus incentive. Unable to use directly in store but Reenu was approachable and directed me on how to make use of this via the app. Bargain for a fiver with friendly service too. Have only ever visited on one occasion before. The service and standards have improved greatly

The food arrived quickly and was incredibly fresh and tasty, the guy that served us was called nitin (I think), was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making our visit even more enjoyable. All staff at York GDK deserve some praise & Thankyou! Been here couple of times now & will definitely be going back very soon.

This is my most favorite place to eat either alone or with friends/family when theyre visiting. The food is super good and its halal. The facilities are clean and you’re sure to find a place to sit. Its easy to find very central to town. The staff is always ALWAYS super friendly (shoutout to reno 🩵 she’s a sweetheart)

I literally can’t count the number of times I have eaten here, … the meals here are delicious & hygienic, the customer service is top notch and the atmosphere of the restaurant is calming and beautiful (if you want instagram worthy spots to take photos, this is the place 👍). You definitely need to visit here when you come to York - it’s right in the city centre 💯 The last time I ate there, the staff that attended to me (Reenu) was very pleasant and helpful, courteous and ever smelling 👍🏾💯

This was a great restaurant for dining, with plenty of self-service kiosks available by the entrance! The orange theme is inviting and the kebab logo is a neat touch, staff were friendly too. I enjoyed a kebab meal full of the dressing with the suitably named flaming fries and a Coke, although the spring rolls left an unpleasant aftertaste.

This is the second time in the last month that we have visited York. The second time we have been to this restaurant. The second time it was very dirty, especially the toilet. Your restaurant was not full of customers, is it really impossible to clean the toilet, clear the tables, sweep the floor from the food????? I think that 3 people are not enough staff for this restaurant. Or there should be 3 very active people working, which I did not notice. The kiosk does not issue receipts, the board with order numbers does not work, that is, in order to find out what is happening with my order, I had to stand in line for 15 minutes while some couple made theirs order. I really love quesadilla. We ordered sauces with it. Guys, spicy sauce should definitely not taste like this, I know this 100%. It was sour and disgusting. Read the recipe again, how to cook it correctly, and use the right ingredients for cooking!!!! Next time I'm in York, I'll definitely pass by this restaurant. You need to work on everything... Where is the manager looking?

We walked in and ordered a box with meat salad and fries and also a drink. The food was at our table very quickly it was tasty also nice and hot. There was a young lady clearing tables and sweeping up. Yes, it was a nice change for us. Thank you.

Great place. Have been coming here for ages. The beef doner box with fries (don’t forget flaming fries) is my frequent go to. The meat is halal and they have a certificate. They have a student discount as well. Reenu does a great job and the staff are super friendly

you order extra chicken and you get a quater of the donner box full. you don't order extra chicken you get half of the box full. also they are mixing orders a lot

I never write reviews which shows how disgusted i was with the service. Made an order, waited over an hour, never arrived. Rang the restaurant, staff denied any knowledge of my order, and were incredibly rude. Incredibly unhelpful. Worst experience ive ever had with a restaurant 🖕🏼

Order a large chicken kebab and a normal og mixed and they got the order the wrong way around. Chicken was also very chewy and substandard compared to the other times I’ve ordered from here. Cold chips on top of that

every time I order kebab I hope staff read notes ,but yet again they don't, wrong sauces and only one each for the box. not happy

staff there don't read any notes you leave for them, that's second time I got wrong sauces , also only 2 sauces for 2 boxes, for collection I got 3 for each box.

I tried it for the first time today in York , it was quiet , 5 or 6 people in...but the service was shocking , no engagement, just left to stand , and if I'd not asked where my food was , I'd have been left there to stand there for an hour. The food was bland , greasy , soggy ....it tasted processed and the cuts of chicken were the scrag ends. It made McDonald's look like a Mitchellin star restaurant.

Disappointment. Food was cold when it arrived. Very small portion of chips. Not as good as I remember. Do yourself a favour and order from local take away instead. It would be cheaper and tastier than this.

The doner meat was tasty, the salad was fresh but there was no chicken in the mix box, no free item for spending over £22 as stated and portions were on the smaller size

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this establishment. The food quality was abysmal, and to make matters worse, they gave both me and my friends the wrong orders. Even after pointing out the mistake, they still failed to correct it. This was meant to be a fun trip to York for a party, but it ended up ruining my evening and upsetting my stomach. To top it off, the toilets were in a horrifying state, with diarrhea on the seats. It's astonishing that this place is even allowed to operate under such conditions. This experience was so unpleasant that I felt compelled to write my first-ever review. I will never return to this chain again, and I advise others to steer clear as well.

The lowest part of our trip was going here for a quick meal. (For context when we visited, there was at least 4 staff members working and barley any customers) - Ordered to sit in and had to wait at table as a mistake was made and food was bundled up for delivery. They didn't realise for a good 30 minutes at which point we just took the food to eat elsewhere. - Tables and chairs covered in food and grime. Obviously no one could be bothered to clean, despite being 4 of them and only 2 seemed to be doing anything. ? Food was okay. Quality was alright, but did notice one of the donner chips and cheese was only filled to the half way point? Seems strange as partner had the same and his was filled. Has put us off the chain all together, management not taking pride in establishment and letting it all go to pot.

Nice looking place with new functional screens. Menu is quite limited but it's good that the few bits they do look and taste very good. The men's toilet was out if order and the disabled one was trashed.

Called into York branch tonight and was very disappointed. Had kebab on a few occasions and was ok. This time chips were cold and barely any meat in sandwich. Just not very nice. Called in a couple of weeks ago and the order boards weren't working properly so ended up at the kebab van in town. Will be going there in future

A complete waste of a massive space. Staff really nice and friendly but it's KFC for dinner kebabs where you don't know what you've ordered how much it is or why it even exists. Terrible use of space in York. If you want a Donner just go and get get one from a van. It's not special it's not proper and it's tedious. I should like to point out again the staff there were lovely friendly and top notch. The fact I feel I need to point that out should tell you everything about this big corporate monstrosity. AVOID

I've seen GDK around but never given it a go - took on the chicken classic, I won't be going again. Its overly sweet, not particularly tasty and very sterile feeling inside - go to Middle Feast instead for a start.

This spot is fantastic place for a few nibbles and bites .i had the spicy chips and oh well they were spicy but great at the same time . The only downside is that there was a if not eating then you can’t stay in. So my annareccic son was left on the street for half an hour . 😁
