German Doner Kebab in Watford

Place is clean and appears well kept. Unfortunately its like a childs light lunch version of a proper kebab and meat lacked flavour as well as quantity! Im not a greedy git by any standard but i expect a reasonable portion from any outlet so i was surprised the Germans think this is acceptable. This was just a let down on all fronts from our sausage eating chums. Do yourself a favour and opt for a local “proper” kabab shop. At least you wont go hungry.

We ordered with them through uber eats and one of our items was missing, we tried to contact them and they tried telling us that the uber driver stole it saying they guarantee they didn’t make a mistake when packing the order

GDK is one of our family favourites. This particular one in Watford is part of the once a month day out. Doner Box is my favourite and has never disappointed this meat-eater 😀 Thank you Rida, one of the staff members, who not only served us but came to check up on us. Respect. Loved the upstairs seating area, very chilled

The food was very fresh and delicious. I ordered a meat doner panini and a meat doner box with salad and chips. Meat was very tasty and nice. Portion is small for the price. Chips were not fresh. But the doner itself was very nice. It wasn't fatty and made it taste better than elsewhere. Totally I enjoyed. Thank you.

Paid £2.50 for extra doner meat and when the food arrived it is honestly the smallest portion you could imagine. God knows that a normal portion would look like. Tried to call the restaurant multiple times to complain but they wont answer the phone. I would love to speak to the person who prepped the meal and confirm whether the doner meat comes out of their wages or whether with every order they are just pocketing half the doner meat for themselves. Rubbish food, rubbish service.

Portion size is an absolute joke. Ordered OG kebab with extra meat, the meat that came in the wrap was not even worth the cost of a standard kebab. Tried to call the restaurant but no answer. Will not be ordering from here again

Ordered the food at half 11, took exactly two hours to arrive, and when it eventually did, it felt like the chips were made yesterday, cold, tasteless, and old. It's a shame I used to like ordering from you guys, not anymore, hence the bad review. (Side note) Not the first time this has happened, I let it slide the first time not the second especially when you spend 60 quid on food and they murder it.

Excellent customer service, The manager went out of his way to look after us after Uber messed-up our order.

Ordered the OG Kebab and Diner box with cheese. The wrap was very dry. The Box was mostly chips. The staff stare at you when you ask something rather than answering you.

Extremely disgusted. This is the second time my order is missing an item and they are not bothered to pick up the phone. This happened over a year ago, and thought I gave them another chance, I think it's time to stop ordering from here again.

It's cheap, clean, has a lot of food, and the atmosphere is neat.

The food is usually great, but this evening was not so good. The chips were recooked and hard and the spring rolls over cooked. Every thing seemed 'tired'. It's probably just an off day, but it was disappointing.

portions too small. paid £2.50 extra to have a larger portion. Didn’t make any difference. waste of extra money. Taste is ok but doesn’t compare with Turkish and they shave the kebab off before properly grilled. Just a handful of chips compare to the big chunk you get at fish n chips. It’s pathetic really. I’m hungry.

Beyond amazing experience. Food was wonderful, staff were so lovely, they were very welcoming. One staff member in particular, Ajab Gull, was checking up on us to make sure we were alright throughout our time there. He was really kind and very professional. We arrived 10 minutes before they opened and he offered we sit inside until they could serve us. Never experienced such great customer service. True respect and many thanks to the staff at Watford’s GDK, you were brilliant!

Ordered at 6:20 with delivery expected for 7. No calls answered and now an update of a 2 hour wait. This is the second time we had to wait a long while... should have learnt my lesson the first time and not ordered from GDK.

When I received my food it was cold. Rida was very pleasant and took my food back, bringing me a fresh hot plate. Amazing customer service I have to say :) In terms of how Donner Kebabs go, it's decent but lacks the authentic DK flavour imo. Def worth trying if you haven't been yet. The gym box is reasonable and loaded with protein. Thanks again Rida for a great experience 👍🏼

Not enough donor meat for the price

GDK Watford, THESE GUYS ARE A BIG CHEAT!!! They have two for one offer on Tuesdays, don't fall for it, it's just a big scam, just one kebab they split the filling into two, all you get one extra is a bread, that's it, with extra filling of lettuce. Bought the OG kebab today and I was very disappointed to see how measly they looked. I have bought from them a few times before too and I can see the difference now, cutting corners with their pathetic "Two for one Tuesday offer", quality is not what it used to be. Portion size is not what it used to be either, no longer has the value for money!!

Disappointed to say we used to go there every Sunday little after 8 pm. We had to argue about being allowed to go upstairs even though we were over 10 people and the available tables downstairs could not accommodate us. Although they say is open until 11 pm... they clean up and close upstairs at 8pm and they don't allow customers to use the space. Downstairs is full of delivery staff and only 4 tables available for customers. Once we were even showed the stool by the window to use( not really a place to socialize with our friends). On another occasion we heard the staff swear on us because the manager had to let us upstairs being 20 people... FOR THE RUDE STAFF- WE PAY YOUR SALARY! No customer means no job..you should know that! Orders were mistaken many times ...I didn't leave a review for this...but for advertising more than you offer .... Why is still open until 11 if customers can not use the facilities ? This only happens in Watford though.... In order to keep up downstairs we were split in 2 separate table they actually asked another 2 customer to move from the 6 person table. This is not a good customer service! Safe to say that this Sunday was the last time to go there!

Really sad that all the reviews saying portion sizes have shrunk are true. The OG kebab used to be chock full of meat, but there’s shockingly little meat now.

I am a Turk living in Germany who visited London and have to state, that this is one, if not the, best Döner I have ever eaten in my whole life. The bread is crispy, the chicken meat tastes great, the yogurt sauce tastes great and even the Slush tastes great, even though it is sugar-free. This Halal restaurant is a clear ten out of ten.

Clean inside and service by staff was good! I’ve unfortunately had to remove 2 stars based on the quality of the meat! It just lacks taste. It used to be tender and had something about it! Overall it’s a good concept but no longer executed to perfection! Somewhere either they have changed their seasoning or recipe! Usually down to saving costs but I won’t be returning In a Rush.
