German Doner Kebab in Barnet - Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews

This is one of a chain of German Doner Kebab outlets and its the equivalent to saying McDonald's are burgers. It's well presented and it looks good but the taste is just not there. Not enough spices and the taste is very bland. Everything says it should be good. Clean, looks good, smells good but then its just, nothing.

I tried this Kebab shop as it looked so new and smart. Decided on a takeaway and ordered their mixed Doner Kebab. The quantity was fine, it was hot enough but I was disappointed that the content was so bland. Of the three meats there was no change in taste nor consistency. I might as well have just ordered one meat. The taste that it had was bland, nothing stood out, used the 3 supplied sauces and they failed to enliven the mush within the bread. The local non chain Turkish Kebab shops have nothing to worry about as this offering cannot challenge them a tall. The premises are fine and clean, the staff were lovely, it is all shiny and new but I found the product plain and lacking any taste.

I normally do not write up reviews but on this occasion I would for these guys. (Manish and his team) Entered at 10:40pm and been told they’ll shut at 11pm so I’ll have to have it as take away. Asked them nicely if I could eat in quickly and promised them Ill keep the table clean. Not only did they say its okay, they put in extra sauce of all sauces and allowed me to eat peacefully till 11:20pm. Nice people definitely recommend this place.. Just dont forget to be nice yourself.

I had been through a stressful couple of hours and wanted something quick to eat in a restaurant. I passed the restaurant, newly opened, on a bus and decided to try it out. Ordering was not particularly easy – I don’t like the computer screen ordering system – so went to the counter. I said I had never been in the restaurant or the others in the chain before, so tried to order, overwhelmed by the items on offer. My order was a simple doner, a pancake roll, cheesy fries and frozen drink. When I asked for the doner and pancake roll, I was asked what meat option I wanted in an extremely rushed way and made my choices, similarly with the frozen drink, which was pink or blue. I ordered to eat in, paid by credit card and went to sit down where the order would be delivered. The shop was very busy, but the order arrived quite quickly. The “waiter” asked again whether I wanted the pink or blue frozen drink, and I repeated pink. One look at the doner kebab told me I had made a mistake. Instead of meat and salad in a pitta bread, it was meat and crushed salad in what was essentially a folded waffle. The waffle at least was warm, unlike the meat, which was cold. At least the pancake roll was hot but it was far too spiced for my liking. Before I could make a complaint, the waitress returned to ask me again what colour drink I wanted. I repeated pink and rejected the waffle saying it was cold. The meat was taken away with a brief apology, but no one from management thought it necessary to come over and speak with me. Waiting for a fresh doner, I was harassed by a “customer” who told me I was wrong to wear to face covering in the restaurant. I sent her away and advised her never to approach me again. At this point, I should have walked out after cancelling the order, and demanded a refund (there was a McDonalds two or three doors away). I didn’t and a couple minutes later, the same tray arrived, same pancake roll and same cheesy fries, now not as hot. I finished the meal, which filled a hole, but throughout the night the kebab kept repeating on me. I shall not return to the restaurant. They serve substandard food and offered poor, uncaring service.
