The food was warm and very tasty. Very friendly staff and the place was clean. 10/10

First and last time . We really thought it was a georges like georges. But no . The real georges should take a look . Beans cold .has a small bay Marie above a household cooker keeping them warm . The woman multi tasked with her blue gloves on Cleaning work tops . Filling the air fryer with the pie. Food contamination and the risk of food poisoning is a huge risk . Why doesn't food places get checked properly nowadays. 😒

Hard chips, seemed frozen as some were cold, dry beans, the only decent thing were the sausage. Sorry very disappointed.

Some nice sausage the lime adds a flavour into it, the pita bread is nice seasoned, the sausage has lots of flavor into it and I recommend this for 2.50£

Really bad fish and chips. Thing that was most disappointing was I thought it was a George’s traditional. It’s shocking that they can get away with posing as a decent fish and chip shop, charge the same sort of prices and be possibly the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. If I were George’s traditional I’d sue them.

The worst chips I’ve ever had. He said he would cook some fresh. I think he meant he will warm some leftovers. They looked terrible and tasted worse. The sausages in batter was rockhard and in edible it all went in the bin. I couldn’t see what he has wrapped up for me as I’m in a wheelchair I paid for a large chips but received a child’s portion. Waste of money would never recommend the place was dusty and the food was stale reheated

Awful. No chips were ready so had to wait 10.mins for them to be cooked. They were oily and tasted horrible and the portion size was shocking, couldn't even feed my 3 kids with 2 large chips. Had to go Andys for more chips and got more with a medium size to.their large put together and so nicer and cheaper. Will never go again !!!!

First time at georges and I wasn't disappointed. The chips were bloody beautiful couldn't ask for better amd I got 2 decent meals for just over a tenner. Will definitely be returning regularly after work :).

Had chips and curry sauce at lunch time, chips were luke warm and curry was very watered down. Given me a bad stomach for 24 hours so far. The food seems to be stood going cold, and the selection suggests they’re barely staying open. Avoid!

Just nipped in for a quick bite to eat, my partners chips were rubbery and tasteless, and my battered sausage was beyond battered, it was more murdered. Unfortunately this isn’t the first time we’ve been disappointed here. Shan’t be using again.

Ordered chips and a chicken and mushroom pie. Bit into the pie (which was already deflated) and it smelt off, completely dry inside. When I broke the pie up it was stringy like cheese off a pizza. He also stated the pie was fresh today, bull.sh1t. Will never return, worse chip shop I’ve ever visited!!! Hope the health inspectors visit, and trading standards get involved!

Went this evening. Fish was cooked fresh but still tasted awful. Peas and curry like water. Chips some like rubber some rock hard, clearly warmed up. sausage was so hard couldn’t even snap it let alone cut it. Worst ever chip shop I’ve ever been to. Definitely won’t be going back

Went this evening just after opening and waited for everything to be cooked which was nice and done fresh. Unfortunately all the condiments were very watery and flavourless and the chips were dry and rubbery. The only decent item was the kebab meat which was ok at best. Would not recommend.

Prefer to get my chips from the Chinese takeaway a couple of doors up. Kebabs too not bad. Friendly staff,no long queue.

Chips very dry. Like chewing thru a horse’s hoove. Even my dog had trouble chewing that. Sausage and curry sauce were nice.

Just had pie chips curry sauce and the pie was still frozen in the middle had already driven a couple of miles back to work by the time I tucked into it ,and in this day and age what chip shop doesn't take card for payment beware cash only

Cash payments only now. Irregular opening hours, often shutters down when you would expect it to be open. Chips were warm , not very appetising despite it was not long open when I went. Staff member not too friendly, didn’t seem to understand when I asked what the opening hours were she just said 8 o’clock , if I heard her correctly. Lucky I had some cash , first time I used it for over a year. Everywhere takes cards. Something must have gone on as they used to take cards. Don’t think I will go there again.

The experience was unreal I went on the 3rd of July 2021 the food was horrible to say the least ,got home the chips dry the naan was cold the chickens and donna the naan had alot of liquid was just horriable, tried to call the number on web site to complain but out of service .wouldn't recommend this chip shop really disappointed, never used to be like this standards have dropped . Put everything in the bin .

Vile is an understatement. The brown chicken meat that tasted like cat meat was disguised sneekily underneath a layer of red descent looking chicken. Asked if i wanted salad but there was no salad just the scrapes of the barrel. Chips were enimic and warm. Kebab meat was mysteriously grey coloured with hard bits of gristle. The battered sausage well... AVOID....GO WITHOUT !

There's an old saying that you get what you pay for. This chippy is not the cheapest however it's the best I've come upon so far. I ordered cod & chips, chicken nuggets and chips and a donner kebab this evening. The fish was amazing and the salad with the kebab was very fresh. I like coming here because the food is not greasy and the fish is fried on the spot. It's well worth popping in here.

Mouldy cheese and luke warm chips. I should have known. The shop was empty. They don't answer the phone either 😒 Avoid.!!!

I order a cheese and chip cob and the cheese was mouldy and green/blue. The chips were practically stale and extremely oily and the whole meal was inedible! Meal rating -17/10 I would 100% not recommend going to dodgy unhygienic chip shops and definitely do not go to George’s.

We live in the Area and have tried George's several times. The food is Luke warm and greasy .People in the area don't use it and is usually empty. Avoid!

No había comido pescado y papas fritas durante más de un año y, como quería ayudar a mi chippy local, decidí visitar a Georges. El pescado estaba bien, pero la masa estaba poco cocida y empalagosa, lo que hizo que comer el pescado fuera bastante desagradable y terminé descartando la mayor parte de la masa. Las patatas fritas eran anémicas y anodinas. Tal vez los había pillado en un día malo, no lo sé, pero no me impresionó. Realmente no disfruto dando críticas negativas y no es el peor pescado y papas fritas que he probado, pero seguramente el establecimiento puede hacerlo mejor que esto.

Prices seem to be going up every few months, but it's still worth it currently. Chips are lovely from here and aren't full of grease like most chippy's

First time I've ordered from hear .Had a large kabab with nan bread .the bread was wet and not alot of meat .wet salad on the kabab.so very disappointed.the chips were warm .so that's the best bit .first time hàveing food from them .And I won't be ordering from them again.Thay don't have warm bags .and bring your food in a carry a bag so it's cold when you receive it .very disappointed .also called the manager to explain .my kabab was horrible.wet bread and salad no meat and source was bad .the manager wasn't bothered .all he said was you don't have to come back to eat hear .he didn't even say well we send you some more food .I'll never go back here again.first and last time for me and my husband .And the food came in a carrier bag .and not a warm bag .very disappointed.

Great fish and chip shop. The prices are good and the food is always delicious. There is a great choice food ranging from standard chips to kebabs to pizzas. If you just want a snack you can get a cone of chips for just £1.80 but if you want a proper meal you can get kebab and chips for £5. This chip shop is amazing

By far the worst kebab I have ever had from a chippy, all veg and hardly no meat,,,and somebody needs to let these people know that a Donna kebab comes in pitta bread and not nan bread (which I discovered when I arrived home)idiots

Tried this place for the first time and its hands down the worst food I have ate. The Chicken & mushroom actually tasted sour, was off (they must be reheating these pies numerous times), the chips were stale, the Kebab meat was only half cooked and still cold. The only thing that was ok was the fish which was cooked to order but very oily as the the oil wasn't hot when cooked. This place is an absolute hazard to your health, I strongly advise fining another chippy.

Ordered a kebab on naan bread. The naan bread was cold hard and uncooked. The kebab had watery mayonaise all over it with a bit of tomato and cucumber. Very poor quality, I'm extremely disappointed.

Chips were lukewarm as was the All Steak pie which also smelled disgusting and was obviously off. They clearly haven't got a clue. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Chips can be hit and miss! Sometimes ok. But more often old and soggy. I was once sold a savaloy that when I got home I discovered had no skin on! Kababs are average, passable when drunk. Wouldn't recommend

They have no idea of makin fish and chips or peas for that matter that was good hell on a tray never would I eat there again ever it wants closing down the batter was like the fish had been slid inside an envelope go to college learn how to cook before you take hard working people's money for crap food

It has to be one of the best takeaways in Nottingham the owner is well involved with customer service and the food tastes delicious and always is fresh.

My god! Just ordered from here for the first and last time yuk... The pasty looked like a flip flop and was microwaved to the point I would end up with radiation burns if I Consumed it..... The peas! I thought peas were meant to be green!!!!! Why the hell were they Brown.. Chips were obviously reheated and looked like something you would find on the floor of Notts on a Fri night........... Please tell me why a mixed kebab was in a burger box hahaha N looked like scraps from a cats food bowl 😷 not even fit for a dogs dinner avoid avoid avoid
