Papa Johns in Nottingham

I ordered food from this papa johns, and they had trouble finding the house on the estate, instead of taking my help to verbally direct them and walk to them if they stayed in one place, instead the shop put the phone down on me, refused initially to connect me to the driver to direct them, and when i finally was put through to the driver 15 mins after they originally marked it as delivered, and when i was, and telling him the direction, he then put the phone down. Finally got the pizza, stone cold, after we had to go find the driver by foot and grab them ourselves. Absolutely awful service this time, we don't usually have a problem directing the drivers, but this time the customer service was truly awful.

Absolutely discussing dry as ote and burnt couldn't eat it and all we got was sorry we will do better next time

OK. I had issues with the driver getting lost as they had gone to postcode and not as per my instructions, so got lost on my estate. A ridiculous amount of time, on phone to both driver and store manager. Food wasn't hot by time it arrived. Driver was so apologetic. Bless him. Store manager said he would make me a fresh order, but still left me with the original order. I heated up the starters while awaiting the 2nd order. Then when 2nd order came I had fresh hot pizza. It was obviously too much food for me to eat all in 1 go. So I had it the next 2 days. I am just very grateful both the driver and the store manager understood my predicament (immobile) that I cant currently get to my local place. I was grateful they left me my original order cos at least I could heat it up and have something to eat while waiting for the fresh food. He also sent the same driver back (a different driver would maybe have same issue) and the lovely driver was so sorry and I felt bad I didn't have any cash to tip him Thank you papa johns. I was having a really hard time in my personal life and your kindness and understanding was very much appreciated. See you again soon. Food was delicious by the way 😘

Best horse i have had in a while!! The owner of KFC sat me down and said I’m going to give you the recipe to how the chickens made. I said back with happy exhilarating grin on my face, “at least it’s not papa Jonathans recipe” OH BOY WAS I WRONG! THIS PLACE IS THE BEST WITH ITS PIZZA!! The pizza articulacy took out the oven with precision, gently placed on the pizza tray. And then the pizza was bought out and then they threw it. Thats right (Gulp) THEY threw it at the celling and let it drop on my plate and then they moonwalked back into their kitchen on their hands. Best atmosphere and performance i have ever had in my experience as a pizza critique 5 star to you my good oľ chum bucket

Didn't actually go in to the shop ordered online and what I got for an XXL pizza was so not satisfactory. Quality of food was POOR. The topping was POORER THAN POOR especially for a pizza the size I ordered. Intact what they described as 2 cups of chicken topping. Clearly was not the case when it arrived plus COLD food. And as for their customer services when I complained it was just pathetic no compromise at all. So if Papa John's was expecting a good review from me they can forget it because I would not recommend them to any of my friends and family simplu becaus their pizza is rubbish and highly over priced. NEVER AGAIN.

I only gave it 5 stars (on the food) cause Im a vegan by heart but they game me a meat feast pizza!!! I proceeded to eat the fat, juicy , scrumptious pizza and it made me realise . . . That I LOVE juicy meat ;) in my mouth! so thank you papa Johnathan pizza... you've made me realize I should kill the juicy, cute lambs and eat then instead. . . thank you Papi Johnathan <3

Driver was running late so manager locked up the shop and delivered to me. 5star service, pizzas were piping hot and tasty!

Placed an order and it got cancelled due to quickest route not being open… Ordered pizzas at 8:00pm and order was cancelled at 8:45, the quickest road to us has been closed for 2 weeks and the alternative route is 4 miles further (8mins) and they refused to deliver. Waited 45mins for them to decide this and refund will take several days. The points used haven’t been returned yet either so I’ve lost out on my rewards! Now having to sort alternative food

Ordered a meat pizza, vegetarian pizza and 2 vegetarian sides. Everything appeared fine again first, all the labels were correct. However my wife (vegetarian) bit into the Jalapeno Papa Bites to find out they were actually the chicken ones! Phoned up, didn't get any apology and was told they'd send us new ones that night. Nothing arrived at all Went to make a complaint and all there is online is a form which you fill out and then you just have to wait. Absolutely atrocious behaviour from the staff, when dealing with anything vegetarian they should be double checking, raises concerns of cross contamination

Terrible. As a one of the expensive chains you use for a treat this was shocking. Firstly the tracker was saying it had been delivered but I hadn’t it took another 30 mins. The pizza was cold. The cheese burnt. Minimal toppings and the small amount that was there was burnt. Very chewy dough. Barely any base sauce. Payed extra for cheesy crust which was just grim rock hard cheese. Take your money elsewhere absolute rip off.

We ordered "The Greek" and "The Hawaiian". Both absolutely gorgeous pizzas and wonderfully fresh - so fresh it was too hot to eat when we got it home. Loved them, would highly recommend! Good price too, only £8.99 for any large pizza.

Never been let down by them from having a super late delivery, most I’ve waited was around 15mins after scheduled time but the food was still piping hot. Best pizza takeaway in the area by far!

Had to wait 90 minutes for food to be delivered. When it did finally show up, it was cold and had toppings on that I didn’t ask for. Delivery driver barely spoke English. Rang the store to speak to the manger and he was very rude and was refusing to rectify their mistakes. Absolutely appalling services so will not be going there in future. Might give dominoes a try! At least they’ve got better reviews!

Used to work here until new management laid off the 2 English drivers and kept the rest on. Oh and they kept our tips aswell the rip offs nearly 300quid

Always enjoy the food from here. However the main reason for the review is the delivery driver Ijaz, he goes above and beyond and is an absolute credit to the store!

If I could give 0 stars I would !! First time I’ve ever complained on google as a local guide….The colleagues / managers are unable to communicate with a member of the public / customer in a way that is respectful and professional. I raised a complaint as a friend who answered the door said they took money for the order that was already paid for online (he was a little worse for wear). I called up and spoke to the manager and said if this is true I want the money returning and an apology to my friend as it’s his house. I then got a phone call 20 minutes later from the delivery driver directly ??? and the way I was spoken was just well WOW… disrespectful and unprofessional, phases used like “you’ve accused me of steeling” and “I never took nothing as we don’t take cash ?” The phone was then put down when I asked how I complain about the interaction. I called back to the so called manager and then proceeded to tell me he had a go at her ? And I pointed out that a manager that not right and as the manager he should of called me back. Never again will I use this store again. I would surgery so training courses on dealing with complaints, investigations and people management so you can be treating your colleague fairly so they don’t feel attacked and on the defensive and then have it out with a customer on the phone ?? JUST SHOCKING

omg I am done with this place now they always take over an hour to deliver, alot of times give me the wrong dips i order which i have to bin and tonight they did it yet again and the pizza was cold no more chances never again. I would avoid this place at all costs.

I was going to get a pizza from here with their student promotion of a 'free' medium pizza (as well as some of my flatmates). This did not happen because although they said that it could be collected from store this was quickly changed to delivery only due to 'crowding outside shop' Guess it was only coincidence that delivery minimum order is an extortionate price of £13.99 and we would have had to get a whole other pizza or 14 quid worth of sides each. THIS IS NOT A FREE PIZZA. I would have been happy paying a couple of quid for delivery but not this price.

I love papa johns, this is my number one takeaway. Its a little pricey compared to your average takeaway, however your paying for quality! The food tastes like quality and always comes hot and well prepared. With this paticular branch the staff are very polite and helpfull and the food is super quick to arrive. In all the years ive been a customer i have never been dissapointed.

So far, they have not let me down. I'm very quick to ditch a business that upsets me, after-all, if they want my money, they have to offer a good service. So far, this Papa Johns have done a good service. Sure, they have ran out of dips and sent a substitute once but nothing so far to destroy my confidence in them.

Apparently it takes 3 hours and counting to deliver a pizza!! When you call to find out what’s going on you get told it’ll be with you in 10 minutes, you wait another hour and it’s still not here, you then call again 4 times in a row as no one answers the phone after that!!

Really poor quality (not sure if it was left over ingredients from the weekend). Also the chicken was under cooked and had very little sauce. Totally bland and threw two thirds of it in the bin.

Nunca usar esto de nuevo. Tuve el mismo problema antes, pero me dieron una pizza gratis para la próxima vez. Decidí intentarlo de nuevo esta noche y, por decir lo menos, es aún peor. Excelente comida. El personal muy amable y servicial deffo recomendar. la entrega fue muy rápida menos de 30 minutos en un viernes por la noche, que también fue el día de pago para la mayoría de los conductores de entrega jajaja muy amable y educado

Well what can I say ? I'm just absolutely discussed in the sevice and attitude regarding staff and the pizza, when the pizza came I opened it and I seriously thought thay had made a genuine mistake and forgotten to put any topping on the pizza to the point I felt I needed to phone the shop as I did so the rude staff member basically called me a lier and dismissed the whole thing followed by a sarcastic laugh 😡 I've just got to say this DO NOT VISIT THIS PIZZA SHOP!!!!!I REALLY DO ADVISE OTHERWISE, well at least until thay employ someone with an ounce of respect,so after all said and done I'm left here still starving with a lot less money in my purse,so for that you get a 👎👎👎👎👎 thumbs down rating for the pizza and a 🖕 from me,byy the way you only got one star because I wouldn't have been able to submit this review otherwise

Sent the wrong pizza twice. When we called to try and rectify they told me it wasn't wrong even though they added an ingredient that was not listed (sliced hot peppers). The delivery driver wasn't at all apologetic saying "it's not my problem", tried to get it right for over 2 hours, very slow delivery, staff got very rude and even hung up on me at one point. In the end I had to go to bed without eating because of them. Whoever owns this branch needs to do some serious re-training of their staff in all areas, especially conduct and customer service.

My partner is picky and cancelled the order, the refund was processed within 3 working days 3.) my property does not appear on the satnav and the delivery guy tried his best to locate me, the pizza turned lukewarm when it arrived. 4.) The Greek pizza ingredients online doesn’t include jalapeños, but the pizza arrived came with it. I was looking forward to trying the new vegan "sheese" pizza. A friend and I made use of an offer (two medium pizzas and two sides for £19). I ordered the vegan pizza and my friend ordered a meat pizza and we were planning on sharing the sides. My pizza was lovely and the vegan "sheese" was great! However, I was disappointed that the two sides both came covered in dairy cheese. It wasn't clear that the sides came covered in cheese when we ordered. I feel like this shows a lack of common sense from Papa Johns.

Worst Papa Johns in the city, delivery well over an hour every time. When ordered online “delivered” status given before its even left the shop and we’ve had to ring and question this several times. Staff rude and unapologetic, go to the Radford or Arnold branch where is is 100000x better

I've only ordered from here twice and both times the delivery time was over an hour and I had to ring to ask what was going on. They gave me an extra dip as an apology, which is just ridiculous. I'll be going back to Domino's, food always comes within half hour with them.

Ordered online and was delighted too see the 'remove cheese button' as can be difficult as someone who is lactose intollerant to communicate this online. Pizza was delicious and hot!and chicken poppers were lovely!! Only critisicm is that it is quite pricey,howver makes a lovely treat every once in a while!

Ordered a cookie online was told to collect in 20 mins, we arrived to collect about 25 mins later collected the food and then went home. Got home and the cookie was rock hard. Phoned the store and the person I spoke to was so rude didn't even listen to what I had to say. He said the cookie took 5 minuets to make and it had been sat going cold as if that was my fault!!! He just started shouting down the phone at me which really took me aback, I was so shocked! Never received such poor customer service, the whole experience has ruined my day.

According to the delivery tracker I received my Pizza 20 minutes ago. Not true. If it is to be trusted, my Pizza has been on the road for 40 minutes. If it ever arrives it can't possibly be fresh. I don't mind things taking time, I do mind being blatantly lied to

After a recent bad experience with Dominos I finally tried Papa Johns in Bulwel and was really impressed.Food delivered on time,friendly delivery,hot food and very good.Can safely say I will not be going back to Dominos!.

worst customer service I've ever experienced!

Pizza took a lot longer to deliver than they said.. was over an hour! I ordered the “Big match deal” pizza was meant to be an XXL with 12 slices and was only a L with 10 slices.. was meant to have a desert but they just sent a bottle of Pepsi instead.. food was luke warm.. when I rang and mentioned all of this they didn’t seem interested at all. Not impressed!!

I ordered a large pizza, with wedges and a "cookie". The pizza was virtually plain, hardly any toppings on it at all, the wedges were revolting, being soft and soggy, and the "cookie" was so old and dry I could crush it into dust. The whole meal was inedible and I threw the lot away. Absolutely disgusting.

Poor customer service. Pizza burnt on the edges. I ate and have an after taste and feel sick. Probably the the pan has not been washed properly. Also delivery man arrived knocking on the door so hard that scared me. I did not even take long to come to the door. They dont give you an estimate time to come..so are they expecting me to sit by the door waiting for them 1.5 hrs? Also order pepsi max but they sent me a normal pepsi. I said I dont want a sugar pepsi. They said..we dont have pepsi max. I said..why didnt you call me? He did not apologise..did not refund my money and thinksI shall keep something I dont drink. Rubbish customer service..Food below average..wont use again

Second time iv ordered both times been awful waited a hour for food to be cold extremely dry rang and asked for replacement tried to argue it with me and said it's going to take a while! when it should be done straight away it's a complaint and a new order, customer service is shocking! Arnold are great but Bulwell never again only one that will deliver to my address. disgusting!

dear john why did my food take almost 2 hours to come to my door and cold i understand new years is a busy time but 2 hours is just long.

So we ordered the feed 4 for £5 deal from the bulwell branch. We got the spicy cheesy things instead of potato wedges. I rung to inform them and requested my wedges the man on the phone states they had no wedges so replaced them with that and dont know what the problem is because they should cost more. I said that thats not the point, my husband has acid reflux issues and cannot eat spicey food and i dont like them i should have been given the choice of what i wanted to swap with. He Then said he tried ringing my phone number but it didnt work. I informed him there are 2 numbers provided and he said they both didnt work, when i asked which number he rang he said 'this what your ringing off now'. He was deff lying! He then said he will send the delivery guy back to give us a part refund but we had to return the cheese bite things - i agreed to this, but still waiting on the delivery guy turning up 2 hours later The pizza itself was like cardboard and not even hot! Will not be ordering from there again!

love these pizza's great toppings and plenty of it and if you have room to spare the desserts are nice as well

Ordered a pizza at 7:30PM and it didn’t arrive till 8:45PM. Furthermore after calling three times it finally arrived and one of the pizzas was missing. So after the guy left we waited another hour until all our last pizza arrived...

Just received our order we placed 45 mins ago and the pizza is cold and the wedges are soggy and under cooked. Really disappointed and won't be ordering from them again.

I have had Papa Johns, a lot of times and it was not bad but not up to the same standard. That you come to expect from other chains around England. And the cinnamon knots where a massive let down compared to the ones had previously.

Shocking service waited over an hour and a half for them to deliver cold food and the wrong pizza

I paid extra for sweetcorn as a topping the pizza sent had one grain of sweetcorn on it. Contacted store and was told they had run out of sweetcorn. I asked them why they did not get in touch to offer an alternative topping, the manager had no response to this. He then offered to refund £1.24 for the missing sweetcorn. An obvious joke. No apology was offered at this point. I have taken pictures of the pizza slices to show no topping was included. The pizza was very dry as well with hardly any tomato base. Staff dont care about providing good customer service. The driver was sent back to refund the £1.24 nearly two hours later. There are too many negative complaints about this franchise store. They are ruining the Papa Johns brand.

The pizza looked disgusting & rubbery, & it made my gums sore when eating it. My daughter had to call papa john's as I thought they had forgotten my order it took soo bloody long to arrive, & when it did, there was no appolgy from the delivery driver. Wished I had just gone to Asda strelley & ordered the pizza from there. Much better texture, & quality as well as being much cheaper, just a pity they dont deliver. Will never eat from papa john's again!! 😠

Ordered a 24.99 deal at 7.55pm on my debit card by phone. Order hadn't come by 9.40. I rang them and spoke to the franchise manager who apologised and said it would be 2 minutes and he would refund 5pound. Order came at 9.50 freezing cold chicken wings and lukewarm pizzas and garlic bread.The delivery driver said hed been given the wrong address and had been driving round with the order.I rang back and the manager said he had already given us 5pound off but agreed that still at 19pound it wasn't good enough so offered a completely new order which would be here in 15 minutes. At 11.10pm I rang again as nothing had arrived. I was told by a young lady that she had made the order straight away and didn't know what happened to it. I asked to speak to the manager but was told he had gone home so was put on to a guy who said the order must not have been labelled so the delivery driver must have offered them a couple of pounds to "buy it off them" as it was going spare??? They kept putting the phone on hold then said they had spoken to the manager by phone and he said the order had been delivered but no one answered the door. Now I know that no one has been to the house after the 1st delivery so this wasn't true. I asked for a refund but they said they can't refund card payments. They offered a 30pound order for free next time but I said I would never order with them again. The attitude of the staff is atrocious, it's a couldn't care less, "whatever" attitude. All the order went in the bin. Do not order from here, food is substandard and staff are terrible. Who wants to pay 24pound for cold food??? Never again!!!

Rubbish. Delivery took nearly 2 hours, pizzas were all cold and one was missing toppings! Sat here now waiting for delivery driver to bring our refund which we had to argue over. Won't use here again. *Edit. Give them slight credit, or at least one member of staff. Guy who came out to give our refund was pleasant and apologetic.

Pizza Treat for tea after a long day moving furniture around! Took ages to come and then they forgot part of our order - There was no voucher or extras to say sorry , so in my opinion it was bad service - this would of helped - if i get something wrong i always make it up to my customers - its called 'good service'.The kids were over it by the time it came , and the part that came later was cold (corn on the cobs for the kids).What a shame it was our 1st try at this delivery pizza place not sure that we will use again.

Food nice twice I've had the wrong food sent out wrong so I've never actually gotten to try the garlic knots but the cinnamon knots are so so yummy only problem is the food you ask for isn't what you get so we stopped ordering.

Ordered take out pizza on a friday night. Waited 50 mins in the shop and got a bottle of tango as compensation. Pizza was ok. A bit short on the toppings and too much crust. Next time it'll be Dominos, 20 seconds walk around the corner.

Very poor. Ordered 2 pizza s and only 1 came. When i rang to ask where the second one was i was told that i only enquired about it. Why i would only enquire about a veg pizza i do not know. The manager was happy to send me the other one at full price but i did not want to have one cold and one hot pizza. Poor service

Very disappointed with Bulwell papa johns. After getting my order wrong and waiting 1.5 hours for it- I accepted their apology and the offer of a free large pizza on our next order. This evening I wanted to place an order (it's my sons birthday) rang them up and they would honour the offer of the free pizza. My husband rang to complain and they still wouldn't relent. I will no longer be using them in the future. We will use the Arnold one instead or pizzahut!!

The food was ordered on a Saturday evening, which I understand is a busy time, but the delivery driver didn't arrive until about 1 hour 20 minutes after our order was placed. She apologised for being late and I would have been quite happy to let it go until I realised the order was wrong and, even if it had been right, something heavy had been on top of the pizza box so the entirety of the topping was stuck to the top of the box. In fairness to the delivery driver, she was very pleasant and apologetic and quite happy to drive back and correct it.

I ordered a cheese and tomato pizza, it arrived late. The delivery man apologised which was something I suppose. It had to be the worst pizza I have ordered! It was cold and hard and overcooked. I ordered garlic knots they sent me a garlic pizza. I would not recommend and will not be ordering again!

The food was ordered at 19.15 arrived at 20.45 with a completely different order, which looked like it had been sat on had to return with correct order 20 minutes later.

Absolutely abysmal service. Food took quite a while to deliver and was almost cold on arrival. The toppings on the pizza were incorrect, the garlic pizza sticks were just cheese, no garlic in them at all and to top it off, they didn't even deliver our dessert cookie. We called the shop and it felt almost impossible to get through to them. We had to leave the phone ringing while we continued watching TV and it timed out in about 5 minutes. We had to do this 3 times before we actually got through to them (they REALLY don't like answering the phones). Once we got through to someone, they said that the cookie wasn't in stock and asked us whether we were called and informed that they didn't have it in stock. They didn't even attempt to call us about this, they didn't tell us at the door either. They offered to send out a different desert so we chose the cinnapie. It actually arrived and I was quite surprised and grateful, however it wasn't very nice anyway... Oh well. Overall, very poor performance, worst takeaway I've ever had an experience with, I would give it 0 stars if possible and I will never order from there again. I would advise others to do the same and not order from here. Choose another Papa Johns if possible because the others in Nottingham are amazing, like Beeston. If your only option is Bulwell, just get Dominos, they actually know what they're doing and they're just as good as Papa Johns (usually) is. Bulwell Papa Johns is just pure trash.

PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE PLEASE. seriously if you go instore then fair enough but honestly if you order , just go that extra mile to go online and hope its not from the bulwell branch. Dominos is way easier in the fact that your pizza wownt be cold and they wownt forget your dips and they know how to actually cut a bloody pizza! I asked for the bosses name one time and he replied with a horrible "What" it really did shock me , really bad service and terrible manners from both workers and the boss . save yourself the decency and order a bloody chinese these people are selfish , no-good scammers at the least. They only care about getting through the day with minimal effort , you would think the manager would have a certain self respect for both his shop and his staff but its disgusting how much their lack of work attitude shows. DO NOT GO HERE.

Made a large order and which got delivered incorrectly. Food was cold and would not recommend this place to any one

The company we work for treated everyone to pizza for lunch. Delivery was quick considering the amount of pizzas ordered. Can't fault the pizzas very nice and tasty.

Pizza is always full of toppings, hot, and delivered quickly by a nice polite delivery guy (>1hr). Now they do a good garlic and herb dip it beats dominos hands down.
