As usual good food at very reasonable price. Great service as food came within 10 mins of ordering. Downside is the toilets. As with many wetherspoons they are upstairs not good if you are disabled or like me, have painful knee joints.

We visited here on a Sunday morning, I ordered a hot drink ,after queuing for at least 10 minutes to get to the drink machine, the drinks were awful, the hot chocolate tasted like water, when I complained, the gentleman, literally just shook the machine 🙄. Tables were dirty and personally I felt like the place needed a good clean .

We went for a meal on a weekday during the half-term. We had just arrived in the area. The pub was very busy as it was dinner time, but we were able to find a couple of tables close together as there were 7 of us. The food didn't take long, and everyone enjoyed what they had ordered. One of the children in our group ordered the fish and chips, and I was envious it looked lovely with a nice big bit of fish. I didn't get a chance to get a photo of the food as we were all starving, and everyone tucked in straight away. The pub has loads of character. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely go back.

Very family friendly pub, affordable and well cooked food . Lots of variety to suit everyone ! Nice conservatory area to sit in and a nice stop off in Bewdley before looking around the shops !

Your typical spoons. Food was on our table within minutes of ordering on the app and reasonable quality, hot and fresh. Beer was served in a warm glass and toilets were grim, with cubicles missing locks, wet floors and paper not replenished. You get what you pay for!

Love a wetherspoons and this is one of our favourites we are regular. Situated in beautiful bewdley great place to stop for lunch after a day in the shops or down by the river

Boxing day breakfast. Staff rushed off their feet but were absolutely polite and efficient.

Went for a meal and 3 out of 4 was dreadful. Large mixed grill was anything but Large. Asked for southern fried chicken salad, got something totally different and as for the burger, it was hard and very thin. Only decent meal was scampi and salad.

The George is located in the town centre and has a few access points to for entry. There is a small car park but it is paid and expensive. The pub is pretty large, and there is ample seating and standing. Tables are clean, and everything is always in order. I ordered from the app, and it took a few minutes to receive my beverage (Pepsi Cherry) and about 8-10 for my meal. I had a BBQ Chicken & Bacon Panini with some Whitby scampi. The food was hot and tasted good. This place is always reliable when it comes down to it, and I can't really knock it. Top marks.

Went for a spoons breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Great welcome from the bar staff. The scrambled egg on toast was lovely and the unlimited hot chocolate from the machine was really nice. Definitely will go again! Added 22/12/24: Spoons breakfast is still the best. Great value, nicely cooked, and the unlimited refills make it an absolute steal.

Came here with my daughter. Food is exactly as expected at Wetherspoons, and the service was great....and the toilets...OH THE TOILETS! They deserve a review of their own. I may move in!

You know what to expect and this is no exception. Clean and tidy.

Hotel staff were excellent and very friendly. Callum gave us all the information we needed for our stay in Bewdley when booking in. We stay in room 104 which was lovely and clean. The heating wasn't on, but the room temperature was just right for sleeping in and would of been too hot if heating had been on. There was a bit of noise at closing which I expected for a Saturday night. The food is lovely and everything you expected for a wetherspoons. Hoping to go back next year.

I went to the George for a drink with a group of friends. Despite it being busy and a Saturday evening, I was astounded at how helpful all the staff were! I had a problem with my drink and the staff happily swapped it AND refunded the difference! It was lovely to be believed and spoken to with respect. Thank you to the Saturday evening team (and your excellent trainers!)

The open fire takes this to the next level. The food and wet was nice, arrived promptly and tasted nice. Unlimited coffee and hot chocolate was good value.

Always great value for money. The food is always consistently good, we have never had a bad meal here. Tried the new Korean Chicken Bowl with Chips and it was a taste sensation. It's definitely become my new favourite. My partner had his favourite, Spicy Meat Feast Pizza and it didn't disappoint either. Well worth a visit if you are in Bewdley.

Excellent food as always , me and my partner pop in every week for a meal and a drink and have never been disappointed.

Beautiful old building with a more recent addition which is in keeping with the rest of the building Good large menu with classic pub meals but also many more modern and indeed 'healthy' alternatives Quick service from friendly helpful staff, meals came quickly and were well cooked and presented. No pressure to leave when we had finished our meals. Prices seemed very reasonable, we were visiting from Surrey so know how those prices compare to other local hostels but for a very enjoyable stop off.

A busy Spoons. I usually like the food, but on this occasion my friend and I both ordered fish & chips and we both agreed that it was the worst fish we'd ever tasted. Ate the next evening and meal was fine

Excellent choice of beers and wine, prices are very reasonable didn't have food just popped in for a quick drink.

From where I sat on my first ever visit, just for a drink whilst visiting the area, in a very busy pub on a Sunday.....(in the 'covered walkway ' / conservatory type area'), everything seems good. Beer is obviously good value ( as is in all Wetherspoon pubs)........ The ladies' toilets are immaculate.!!!! Was told that 'gents' are good too!!! No problem here, as staff were very quick to clear up previous guests plates /glasses, etc.etc. Will visit again if in area. 👍

Our room was spotless.no telly but that was a different issue.

Instead of an insta I am reviewing all the spoons I have went to on google. This one rates in the medium of all the spoons. The bar is at the middle of the house in a thin corridor so if busy like the time I went it makes for a really difficult way to get through. The toilets has a disgusting smell because there isn’t any ventilation which it needs as a toilet. I tried to sit outside and order but as the service in the area is bad and the router must be in the middle of the pub it meant I couldn’t and had to go inside to order on a nice sunny day. The seats in the booth style seats were nice and comfy and the food was nice and pleasant as the other spoons I’ve went to the ciabatta bread has been cardboard but this one it was actually ciabatta bread. The staff were pleasant and I was able to charge my phone in my booth as I also got a low battery although I don’t think that plugs were anywhere else so I may have been in luck. Parking is abysmal for a village area that people flock to but the walk from where I parked was pleasant and the area was also nice to have a walkabout. All things considered I rate this in the medium tier of Wetherspoons.

Had a great lunch at realistic price

We had an awesome time during the carnival in Bewdley. Sian was serving us and she was very lovely and super professional. We will definitely be back and hopefully be served by her again! :)

The drinks were amazing and the staff were super helpful, one member in particular went above and beyond to make our experience extra special. Sian was so helpful and cheerful, you could tell she was more than happy to help and was a little ray of sunshine. It was super busy, as it was the day of bewdley carnival. She worked tirelessly and upheld such an amazing standard. It's staff like her that make coming here so lovely.

Absolute lovely hotel and pub. Staff are really friendly and helpful. The accessibility room is lovely and spacious with a large enough lift for a mobility scooter. Good price also. Well recommended.

Hmmm. Well, I paid a little price for the room, so I guess I can’t say too much. The carpets, the rooms are in need of renovation. The restaurant is flat out stressful, with all the young people serving Who are connected to headsets and other technology, very unrestful. I chose to eat at an Indian restaurant close by.

They do a lovely breakfast all the staff are polite and friendly this place is a must if you're ever in bewdley 👌

Standard fare for its type , Set in a Georgian Riverside historic setting , poor onsite parking

Handily located opposite the Stanley Baldwin statue to catch the ☀️ if you’re lucky enough for it to be shining on your visit. The usual excellent Spoons service of well kept cask ales - the Spring Meadow Session IPA was a delight to drink.

Wetherspoons cheap for drinks near River

Stay over on a Saturday night. Single room was a little bit tight but everything you needed was in the room.

One of the cleanest pubs we’ve been to. Food was very good and served very quickly.

Only went for afternoon lunch. Very nice period decor. good location and I think parking for customers but we used the main car park anyway.

The young bar staff seemed more interested in chatting to one another or their friends who were at the bar than paying attention to customer in front of them. You might have to wait to get a seat & there are lots of doors which make it draughty in cold weather, but it's one of the nicest Witherspoons. Lovely old building in a great little town & lots of outdoor seating for when the weather is good.
