Geisha Asia Restaurant in North Tyneside

The food was fabulous, everyone enjoyed their meals. I thought the car parking was not good and the loud background music was OTT as it was difficult to hear each other. If they sort out the music I would visit again

Great service and a nice atmosphere, but the prices are shockingly high for what are, frankly, sub-par and inauthentic dishes. I won’t be rushing back — I was genuinely gobsmacked at the bill, especially considering the food just wasn’t that impressive. The waiting staff were very attentive, though it seemed there were too many of them, with several standing around chatting due to the place not being very busy. Perhaps scaling back the staff numbers could help reduce the prices? Overall, we had an okay time, but I doubt we’ll return.

We visited Tuesday 22nd, the girl who served us was lovely , we ordered salt and chilli chicken, wings, thai green curry and the geisha noodles! Food was absolutely delicious! Aww ordered far to much and we couldn’t finish it all we asked for some boxes to take some home the food was too nice to leave.

Firstly parking around 19:00 was difficult as the restaurant was very busy however we were lucky and managed to get a space as someone was leaving.On arrival in the restaurant you have to register your car reg so you don’t get charged. We were greeted and informed our table would be a few minutes and we took a seat at the bar. My first impression was the ambiance of this restaurant was spoilt with the thumping selection of music playing. We were shown to our table and Kenny who was going to look after us was very polite and patient. We ordered some starters to share crispy beef Bao buns, Vietnamese spring rolls and jumbo spring rolls. To be honest they were average and nothing I could rave or criticise about. We then ordered our mains a Singapore Vermicelli with mixed meats and prawns which had very little meats but plenty prawns but overall a let down. Our son Ordered prawn Massam curry which he thoroughly enjoyed to be fare and my wife ordered the crispy beef Szechuan and left majority of the meal as was Luke warm and wasn’t impressed with the sauce. The service was good but shame about the food.

Three of us went and all three of us got awful food poisoning. Threw up 5 times the next day along with diarrhoea, ruining the Easter weekend. Despite contracting the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had, the food was enjoyable to eat.

Excellent food and superb service. However we booked a table in advance and was sited around the corner where no atmosphere and very cramped with only the wall to look. I recommend Geisha only sit walk-ins in this areas as we really missed out on ambience and restaurant atmosphere which was disappointing.

Seruously that is one of the best restaurants I ve ever been. Food & vibe were top ! For sushi lovers - this is heaven ! Staff absolutely amazing and friendly ! My only regret is, I was driving as it's one of those places where you just want to relax and have a drink. Will be returning very soon !

Visited the Geisha today. not for the first time. Very disappointed with the food. We ordered a mixture of different dishes. Thinking that the starters would come first then the main meal afterwards. unfortunately everything we ordered was placed on the table at the same time. I started on the main meal and discovered that the main meal they brought was barley warm. but the starters were nice and hot. So it wasn't the best meal especially for the price

Katsu not seasoned at all, also seems to be glued meat instead of chicken breast, as parts of it taste like white meat, some like thigh. Stinky rice is not sticky, it’s glued! Fried rice doesn’t even know what fried means. Fried season vegetables are cooked with no seasoning. Don’t get me started on their sauces and curry - just the smell alone can put you off. Food is horrible, our entire order went to the bin.

The chef even came to our table to check on us—such a personal and thoughtful touch!

The food was out of this world could not fault it ... the waitress was very rude no manners and had her backside in my face...

Disappointed. The steamer was broke so steamed dishes not available also the coffee machine broke. The waitress said it was due to a power cut 2 weeks prior. So 2 weeks and they still hadn't resolved the problem. Also the lift has been blocked off and no alternative to access upstairs.

Fined £100 for parking, which refused to pay, no signs to advise. Be careful not to get stitched. Food is reasonable.

I attended geisha fusion restaurant today there was three of us, we were shown to our table by a lovely helpful member of staff. We were then served and looked after by another member of staff all of whom were extremely pleasant, helpful, with excellent customer service at all times, the food we all ordered was amazing well enjoyed. The deco was stunning and beautiful to look at. I would definitely attend here again.

Beautiful atmosphere, Insta-worthy decor, and good staff. We came here on Sunday, and they offered Sunday specials with a two-course meal for £18 and one-course meal for £11.50 per person . The food was delicious, and we had a lovely time.

When geisha was based at Sandyford it was,fantastic ,now this new one just can't compare I had booked a table walked in saw what it was like & walked straight out would not recommend it

Cool restaurant with wide and interesting menu of Asian cuisine. Music good but too loud as some waiting staff could not hear our order ! Very helpful rookie looked after us but with quite an unfriendly colleague overseeing him unfortunately! Not too long to wait for food and the drinks were great too ! Marvellous food !

Absolutely amazing experience. The decor and atmosphere is incredible. Service was rapid and attentive. We were blown away by the quality of the food. We had the Geisha sharing platter and all of it was delicious. So much flavour. The cocktails were fantastic too. Love the unique glasses and creativity. Highly recommend going and we can't wait to go back. Many thanks to the staff.

First time here but won’t be the last. The ambiance is amazing, it’s like being in some magical wonderland. The food and service was really good as well. The belly pork was possibly the best I have ever had.

The only reason I can't give this place a 5* review is down to its disabled access. Stupidly, I didn't check the Access. I am an ambulatory wheelchair user and I was very lucky my husband had taken me and my friend to the door with my crutches. There is no ramp and about 4/5 steps to the entrance. When you go in there are about 15/20 stairs up to the Asia restaurant and then a few steps in the actual restaurant. There is space for a lift and someone said it has just been boarded up but there was once a lift. I didn't see the toilet. The food was lovely, cocktails were amazing and the atmosphere great...but the pain caused wasn't worth it. Unfortunately I won't be going back. It is a shame as the food was excellent and I would have loved to take my husband there. :-(

Such a beautiful restaurant. The cocktails and the music were spot on, funniest soundtrack ever! The food is just stunning. Had a lovely midweek lunch with my two teenage daughters and we could have stayed all day! When we left we read a banner outside that gave 20pc off for blue light cards. We hadnt seen this. So dont forget to go wed for lunch and use your blue light. We could have saved £15! Will deffo be back!. Our new fav foodie place. Just fab xxx

We went for breakfast today, which they currently do Friday to Sunday. It was not busy so service was fast and the breakfast food was nice (everything we tried was nice and we had no complaints, but we also didn't feel there were any standout dishes, but breakfast food is breakfast food, right?) I had fusion eggs, which were very tasty. The full English was 12 pounds and a reasonable portion for that price. As there aren't many other breakfast places immediately nearby I definitely see myself going back. The breakfast market down in Heaton is obviously very strong, but if you're looking for sit in breakfast up near four lane ends, definitely bear Geisha Fusion in mind. I saw lots of delivery drivers stop by for take away breakfast too.

Really tasty food with a unique atmosphere. Ordered the 3-roast-meat special which was a generous portion with lots of nice flavours. I must say I have had better but it was still delicious. Overall experience was let down when my friend found lots of hairs in her noodles! Also the prices could be a bit more student-friendly.

We have ordered takeaway twice from here and the taste was incredible. I have not stopped telling people about it. The food was so flavoursome and a great variety of options to order. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be ordering again and are planning our visit to the restaurant!

Excellent service and ambience. Lovely traditional japanesse vibe all along. Food was really good. Sushi platters are great. Cocktails are the star of the day. You will get some great recommendations from the staff as well. Obi was the person on duty today ans she was friendly and lovely to be with. Thank you for amazing experience. Will recommend a second time every time. PS: parking is free inside the arena and payperhour outside on the road. Youre welcome ;)

Really good first visit. Only downside they add a discretionary tip and then it's not really discretionary. Just allow people to add it if they want.

I booked a table for Geisha Asia but as one person was unable to manage the stairs, we were seated downstairs in Geisha Fusion without a problem. Staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The restaurant decoration is stunning with all the flickering ceiling lanterns, the fireplace and ornaments. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. What we were unable to finish was boxed up so we could take it away. We will be back!

Had lunch from restaurant week menu, starter and main for £20. Food was tasty the portions were huge, lovely decor and friendly staff . No complaints from me!

The venue is wonderfully decorated with illuminated lanterns, blossom trees, and all the stylistic designs of the East. The staff are swift, attentive and friendly. The food choices are extensive, good for vegetarians and vegans, and they arrive swiftly, piping hot and generous proportioned! There's a great drink selection, including some well prepared cocktails of their own design that are reasonably priced. All round, superb.

Seriously spectacular food, Katsu unreal, bao buns bang on and the rice perfect. Love it.

Visited last night for the Restaurant week offer. The atmosphere was really nice. Amy was really attentive and friendly. She took the food and drink order and made sure everything was spot on. The food was delicious and the portions very filling. The chilly salt calamari well seasoned . The honey BBQ ribs were soft and coming off the bones. Main course we ordered the Red Thai curry and rice was well flavoured and spicy at the right point. We also had chilli beef noodle the brith was well flavoured with plenty of mushrooms, beef and veg. The deal we could also get the dessert, but we were too full.

The matcha latte and bubble tea are great drinks, the charcoal platters, gyozas and BBQ ribs taste very nice too

Fantastic place to go for special occasions, excellent customer service and food was tasty. There are many cocktails that looks appealing, food well presented and the sushis are delicious. It is an expensive restaurant but I personally think it’s worth it for the service and atmosphere.

Tried this place twice, give it the benefit of the doubt after a bad 1st experience because I liked the food but never again. 2nd time was exactly the same. No parking unless you park illegally or walk a mile. No lift, out of order 1st and 2nd time (6 months between visits) nobody welcomes you when you walk in to the restaurant after the climb up the many many stairs. Staff walk past you. Ignore you when you try to get their attention. Totally ignored on both arrivals. EVENTUALLY someone greets you and seats you. Very long wait and staff clearly don't like being asked to check on your order, after a half hour wait both times. Food is nice tho but spoilt because of wait and whole experience from beginning. Deffo wont be back (not getting burnt a 3rd time) and do NOT recommend. Go somewhere else.

Amazing food and cool decor. I've had a few dished here and The Malaysian Rendang is my favourite. Really good portion with rice and flatbread. The Pad Thai and Massaman are also great dishes

Fantastic food as always! This is the 4th I've been and with a party for 4this time it was still just as good, the menu has chnaged a bit but the quality of the food never disappoints. Service was good, server was polite and allowed us ample time to select food/drinks. The atmosphere with all the lanterns and music is really nice. Would definitely recommend it for a nice meal out! Parking is still a pain at peak times but don't let that put you off.

What can I say a mixed experience at Geisha Asia We’ve been to the Italian many times and absolutely loved it but this was a different outcome The venue and staff as always are great but the food was such a let down! Starters - Salt and Pepper Squid. The S&P was sooo salty you couldn’t even taste anything else except salt. Even trying use a lime to balance it didn’t work. Main - Geisha Sushi £32 - Asked for ours to be grilled properly and came back almost raw and just scored and flipped on the grill. The main item was the Prawn Sushi roll and this was caked and I mean buried in Wasabi. Couldn’t even eat it, think we left almost all of our platter. Not sure if new chef or not but don’t think we will be back to either restaurant soon.

I first visited Geisha at its old location and was floored by everything. From the decor, music, staff and amazing food I couldn't wait to return! When you think it couldn't get any better, this place has proved me wrong. The new site is in a better location and is stunning, just like before. However with the new Fusion restaurant you literally are spoiled for choice under one roof. Again a wonderful warm welcome, great vibe and delicious fresh food. This is a place that caters for everyone from families to celebrations or a perfect date!! For me it was with friends and I can't recommend it enough. Thank you all

Lunch - no meals suitable for anyone on a diabetic diet. No wholemeal/granary bread or buns, no brown rice, no wholemeal noodles, no sweet potato fries. Also did not reply to my email querying availability of diabetic options sent a week ago. Staff were great but food terrible. Wagu Burger overcooked - asked them to leave off the bun and they left off all the other burger accompaniments. Side of stir fry veg also poor as it included RAW broccoli, overcooked mushrooms and overcooked peppers.

Fantastic food and great service. Staff were very polite and everything about the place we enjoyed. Only thing I would say is maybe turn the background music down slightly. Though at times we had gone to a rave 🤣. All in all 9.5 / 10 for me and we will certainly be visiting more.

Had lunch here with some colleagues. Great place and fantastic food served by friendly and attentive staff. The portion sizes are very generous and I think for what you get, reasonably prices. Pictured - pork and prawn dim sum, salt and chilli chicken and salt and chilli fries.

I was unsure if I'd enjoy the food as I normally go for the safe bets of Chinese or Italian, but we decided to try Geisha as somewhere different. How surprised was I? All I can say is you have to try this place. The food is so filling and full of flavour. The service is spot on. Nothing was a bother to them. They were all so friendly. Food came fast to the table. A lot quicker than anywhere I'd been to before. The car park is not the biggest so you may end up parking on the street or in a nearby pubs car park. Definately worth booking ahead. We went on Friday evening and it was really busy.

Waitress needs a lesson in the customer comes first when in need of something, a smile go's along way. Food I should of had what I payed for and on the menue. i.e green beans !!

Nice food and good atmosphere, the service was very friendly. Only thing for me if I had to pick something was at times the music was a bit loud but we could still talk and enjoy ourselves. The car park was a bit awkward so we parked on a side street. We visited the Italian section, the pizza breads were very good, we all enjoyed the food. Taste first though, the food is very well seasoned. We went to the Asian side this time and the food was good. The wings were nice and crispy in like a sesame seed with a slightly spicy sauce. Then the spicy beef Malayan dish. Can't fault the food however the music was not to my taste, to dancey for having a meal with family too

The burger was very nice. Dim sum was ok but definitely Chinese restaurants can do better than this. Geisha chicken wings were too salty and we had to ask the manager to change it to something else. The service and atmosphere were wonderful. Price wise, I'd say it's a bit high with the food quality.

Excellent food , beautiful restaurant with lovely atmosphere. Only thing I could fault was the length of time in between courses. Also our server literally took our order and I never saw them again, had to keep attracting other staff as they went by to order more drinks or anything else we wanted

First time visiting and had a nice experience. The place was SO busy. We went with 4 dishes between the 2 of us. Our server was new but she done a great job and the food was served within 5/10 minutes of ordering! Extremely efficient kitchen. I had a large & small glass of wine, my husband a pint and a shandy, with 4 dishes, the total was £90+. We enjoyed ourselves and the food was nice but we both said we wouldn’t return. Be mindful - the parking is a bit of a nightmare.
