Geisha Asia Restaurant in North Tyneside

We have ordered takeaway twice from here and the taste was incredible. I have not stopped telling people about it. The food was so flavoursome and a great variety of options to order. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be ordering again and are planning our visit to the restaurant!

Really good first visit. Only downside they add a discretionary tip and then it's not really discretionary. Just allow people to add it if they want.

Excellent service and ambience. Lovely traditional japanesse vibe all along. Food was really good. Sushi platters are great. Cocktails are the star of the day. You will get some great recommendations from the staff as well. Obi was the person on duty today ans she was friendly and lovely to be with. Thank you for amazing experience. Will recommend a second time every time. PS: parking is free inside the arena and payperhour outside on the road. Youre welcome ;)

I booked a table for Geisha Asia but as one person was unable to manage the stairs, we were seated downstairs in Geisha Fusion without a problem. Staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The restaurant decoration is stunning with all the flickering ceiling lanterns, the fireplace and ornaments. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. What we were unable to finish was boxed up so we could take it away. We will be back!

Had lunch from restaurant week menu, starter and main for £20. Food was tasty the portions were huge, lovely decor and friendly staff . No complaints from me!

Seriously spectacular food, Katsu unreal, bao buns bang on and the rice perfect. Love it.

The venue is wonderfully decorated with illuminated lanterns, blossom trees, and all the stylistic designs of the East. The staff are swift, attentive and friendly. The food choices are extensive, good for vegetarians and vegans, and they arrive swiftly, piping hot and generous proportioned! There's a great drink selection, including some well prepared cocktails of their own design that are reasonably priced. All round, superb.

Visited last night for the Restaurant week offer. The atmosphere was really nice. Amy was really attentive and friendly. She took the food and drink order and made sure everything was spot on. The food was delicious and the portions very filling. The chilly salt calamari well seasoned . The honey BBQ ribs were soft and coming off the bones. Main course we ordered the Red Thai curry and rice was well flavoured and spicy at the right point. We also had chilli beef noodle the brith was well flavoured with plenty of mushrooms, beef and veg. The deal we could also get the dessert, but we were too full.

Restaurant week did not dissapoint but they never do beaut

The matcha latte and bubble tea are great drinks, the charcoal platters, gyozas and BBQ ribs taste very nice too

Fantastic place to go for special occasions, excellent customer service and food was tasty. There are many cocktails that looks appealing, food well presented and the sushis are delicious. It is an expensive restaurant but I personally think it’s worth it for the service and atmosphere.

Tried this place twice, give it the benefit of the doubt after a bad 1st experience because I liked the food but never again. 2nd time was exactly the same. No parking unless you park illegally or walk a mile. No lift, out of order 1st and 2nd time (6 months between visits) nobody welcomes you when you walk in to the restaurant after the climb up the many many stairs. Staff walk past you. Ignore you when you try to get their attention. Totally ignored on both arrivals. EVENTUALLY someone greets you and seats you. Very long wait and staff clearly don't like being asked to check on your order, after a half hour wait both times. Food is nice tho but spoilt because of wait and whole experience from beginning. Deffo wont be back (not getting burnt a 3rd time) and do NOT recommend. Go somewhere else.

Had the most amazing food here! The themeing of this restaurant was beautiful. The staff were lovely and helpful. I will 1000% be back here at some point!

Amazing food and cool decor. I've had a few dished here and The Malaysian Rendang is my favourite. Really good portion with rice and flatbread. The Pad Thai and Massaman are also great dishes

Fantastic food as always! This is the 4th I've been and with a party for 4this time it was still just as good, the menu has chnaged a bit but the quality of the food never disappoints. Service was good, server was polite and allowed us ample time to select food/drinks. The atmosphere with all the lanterns and music is really nice. Would definitely recommend it for a nice meal out! Parking is still a pain at peak times but don't let that put you off.

What can I say a mixed experience at Geisha Asia We’ve been to the Italian many times and absolutely loved it but this was a different outcome The venue and staff as always are great but the food was such a let down! Starters - Salt and Pepper Squid. The S&P was sooo salty you couldn’t even taste anything else except salt. Even trying use a lime to balance it didn’t work. Main - Geisha Sushi £32 - Asked for ours to be grilled properly and came back almost raw and just scored and flipped on the grill. The main item was the Prawn Sushi roll and this was caked and I mean buried in Wasabi. Couldn’t even eat it, think we left almost all of our platter. Not sure if new chef or not but don’t think we will be back to either restaurant soon.

I first visited Geisha at its old location and was floored by everything. From the decor, music, staff and amazing food I couldn't wait to return! When you think it couldn't get any better, this place has proved me wrong. The new site is in a better location and is stunning, just like before. However with the new Fusion restaurant you literally are spoiled for choice under one roof. Again a wonderful warm welcome, great vibe and delicious fresh food. This is a place that caters for everyone from families to celebrations or a perfect date!! For me it was with friends and I can't recommend it enough. Thank you all

Very nice place to have a quiet meal

Lunch - no meals suitable for anyone on a diabetic diet. No wholemeal/granary bread or buns, no brown rice, no wholemeal noodles, no sweet potato fries. Also did not reply to my email querying availability of diabetic options sent a week ago. Staff were great but food terrible. Wagu Burger overcooked - asked them to leave off the bun and they left off all the other burger accompaniments. Side of stir fry veg also poor as it included RAW broccoli, overcooked mushrooms and overcooked peppers.

Went for a birthday and it was amazing! Food was delicious with good portions and the staff were lovely! Thank you for making the night so special

Great experience! There are soo many options to choose from and the happy hour is great, 2 for £13.50. Amazing service and nice atmosphere for a Thursday evening. Would definitely come here again!

Fantastic food and great service. Staff were very polite and everything about the place we enjoyed. Only thing I would say is maybe turn the background music down slightly. Though at times we had gone to a rave 🤣. All in all 9.5 / 10 for me and we will certainly be visiting more.

Had lunch here with some colleagues. Great place and fantastic food served by friendly and attentive staff. The portion sizes are very generous and I think for what you get, reasonably prices. Pictured - pork and prawn dim sum, salt and chilli chicken and salt and chilli fries.

I was unsure if I'd enjoy the food as I normally go for the safe bets of Chinese or Italian, but we decided to try Geisha as somewhere different. How surprised was I? All I can say is you have to try this place. The food is so filling and full of flavour. The service is spot on. Nothing was a bother to them. They were all so friendly. Food came fast to the table. A lot quicker than anywhere I'd been to before. The car park is not the biggest so you may end up parking on the street or in a nearby pubs car park. Definately worth booking ahead. We went on Friday evening and it was really busy.

Waitress needs a lesson in the customer comes first when in need of something, a smile go's along way. Food I should of had what I payed for and on the menue. i.e green beans !!

Beautiful atmosphere, Insta-worthy decor, and good staff. We came here on Sunday, and they offered Sunday specials with a two-course meal for £18 and one-course meal for £11.50 per person . The food was delicious, and we had a lovely time.

Nice food and good atmosphere, the service was very friendly. Only thing for me if I had to pick something was at times the music was a bit loud but we could still talk and enjoy ourselves. The car park was a bit awkward so we parked on a side street. We visited the Italian section, the pizza breads were very good, we all enjoyed the food. Taste first though, the food is very well seasoned. We went to the Asian side this time and the food was good. The wings were nice and crispy in like a sesame seed with a slightly spicy sauce. Then the spicy beef Malayan dish. Can't fault the food however the music was not to my taste, to dancey for having a meal with family too

Such a beautiful restaurant. The cocktails and the music were spot on, funniest soundtrack ever! The food is just stunning. Had a lovely midweek lunch with my two teenage daughters and we could have stayed all day! When we left we read a banner outside that gave 20pc off for blue light cards. We hadnt seen this. So dobt forget to go wed for lunch and use your blue light. We could have saved £15! Will deffo be bad. Our new fav foodie place xxx

Excellent food , beautiful restaurant with lovely atmosphere. Only thing I could fault was the length of time in between courses. Also our server literally took our order and I never saw them again, had to keep attracting other staff as they went by to order more drinks or anything else we wanted

The burger was very nice. Dim sum was ok but definitely Chinese restaurants can do better than this. Geisha chicken wings were too salty and we had to ask the manager to change it to something else. The service and atmosphere were wonderful. Price wise, I'd say it's a bit high with the food quality.

First time visiting and had a nice experience. The place was SO busy. We went with 4 dishes between the 2 of us. Our server was new but she done a great job and the food was served within 5/10 minutes of ordering! Extremely efficient kitchen. I had a large & small glass of wine, my husband a pint and a shandy, with 4 dishes, the total was £90+. We enjoyed ourselves and the food was nice but we both said we wouldn’t return. Be mindful - the parking is a bit of a nightmare.

First time I’ve been, but it will not be the last! Incredible food, lovely staff and a relaxed atmosphere! I had geisha KFC with sticky rice. Hot!! 🥵 but tasty! Also tried prawn dim sum, soft noodles and salt and pepper chicken! All to die for! Highly recommend!

The Asia part of the Geisha restaurant is definitely the better half. The food was divine with all in the party complimenting their dishes. We were a party of 6

Really nice food with big portions. We booked a table 4 hours prior without a problem. My friends all got crazy over the piña collada!

Service was excellent, Sean made everything perfect. Great menu and food was done to a great standard. The only thing I would change is to use wood/bamboo chopsticks as the grip is better especially for the sashimi.

Food was great, loved the noodles and the virgin Pina colada was 10/10.Server name on receipt was Ella. Service from her was amazing, so helpful and polite. Throughly enjoyed the whole experience!!

So excited to go here with friends decor was great. That was the only positive music was too loud couldn't hear anyone speaking (we're not old 30-50s) Starters were ok but nothing special I asked if my choice of dish could be served with noodles or chips (I don't like rice) waitress said no I said I don't eat rice (never had a problem before in any restaurants) she got manager who I explained I don't like rice . His response was no if you want noodles or chips you have to pay extra!!!! Main courses were very underwhelming. Definitely won't be back. 1person summed up it perfectly "my Chinese takeaway does better food"

My number one choice of restaurant for a special occasion. A little expensive but the food is always amazing, lovely cocktails too! - I recommend booking in advance as I’ve been turned away before because they were fully booked (Saturday evening). Last time I was at Geisha Asia I was impressed at how quick the food arrived to the table, servers were very friendly. Looking forward to the next visit! I’ve also been to the Italian downstairs… I’d recommend upstairs.

Worth trying. Beautifully done out building. Waiting staff were attentive and helpful. Pan Asian cuisine. Prices vary in a bizarre fashion with some side dishes of veggies being priced around £8, not far off some main course prices. Food was pleasant but compared to other Asian restaurants, flavours were a little muted. Really quite busy and very Instagramable if you are into that sort of thing.

Went here for my birthday with 9 other guests. Amazing service & food! Would definitely recommend - Atmosphere was great! Everyone had a lovely time perfect for celebrating!

Had the Asian spare rib with salt and chilli for starters and the Tom Yum Raman both were delicious. The only downside is the parking is a bit of a nightmare.

Fantatic service as always, beautiful ambience and delicious food. First time here since the change in location, very pleased with the ample parking spaces. Staff were very attentive with prompt service. Chicken satay starters are always a hit. Tried the chicken katsu burger and szechuan chicken, pretty good but the star of the show is always the thai green curry! Mocktails were delicious too.

First time visiting the new location and didn't know what to expect, but I was over moon that they didn't lose any of the magic and it's just as special as the day it started, the food was once again, absolutely amazing in a great relaxed atmosphere and the staff were fantastic and helpful, we may have ordered a few too many sides but I'll never regret trying as much as I can whenever I visit here

Went during restaurant week for first time. My partner ordered from that menu but I went for the rendang Malaysian curry from the main menu. The flavour of the curry and the spice was delicious but I didn't enjoy the chicken, don't think that was well cooked and got a grizzly piece so I put the chicken to one side and ate the rest. The drop in mark was purely for this. The salt n chilli chicken starter my partner had was lovely and the chicken was well cooked however. I'd go again if there was offers on but would try other restaurants first. Service was great and fast and the venue was lovely

Ordered a takeaway for collection and it was amazing! I think a lot of these reviews are for a different Geisha (this Geisha only opened 9 months ago and at the time of writing this the other reviews were from a year ago) but I'm writing my review based on the Geisha in Benton. I ordered the sharing box for 2 and got absolutely loads! Great value for money and the quality was top notch, so much flavour. The photo doesn't do it justice but trust me, was LUSH HEW!

Tried this local Asia restaurant as it was part of restaurant week which was great ! Let’s talk decor, stunning ! Inside is like a magical journey to Asia ! Lightning, music, atmosphere gets a 12 out of 10. Menu choices were great. Got a fab starter and main for 20 pounds - great value ! Food arrived and was nice. I wanted to give full marks but sadly I have experienced better food at other places. Nothing wrong with the food but wouldn’t be my first choice to go back to. Service and staff were top notch ! I would not hesitate to go back, but I’d still keep trying new places first.

I normally do not leave reviews but I decided to put an effort this time to hopefully reach this review to the establishment and help them improve ultimately. this is our second time to dine in Geisha Asia after a really good experience on our first visit. But our second visit is probably the worst I had encounter on visiting to restaurants. WHY? it boils down to the food served. WE DIDNOT like the food at all. and Definitely NOT WORTH the price we pay. What is wrong with the food? dumpling duck - the taste is odd. and it has a weird smell. We reported this to our Server and she did apologize though. rice - its really dry.... you add £1.5 for a coconut sprinkle on top. not worth at all. not same quality rice served to us first time went there. 3 meat rice menu - would not recommend this. 3 meats were really dry. we did not finish it at all. Salt and Chilli Squid - definitely not the same we order first time we went there. their squid this time is round like and really salty. looks and taste like a ready made frozen squid you just buy in the market. Beef Schezuan - again will not recommend. it was really too sweet. salt and chili tofu - the tofu itself is not that good quality. again looks and taste like a ready made cheap frozen tofu that we usually bought in the market. EX Rice Bowl - did not like this at all. meats in there were really dry. again it taste and feels like a meat left overs and cook it to make a fried rice. Prawn though was okay but the rest of the meat - you know what i mean. NET - we decided that this last visit will indeed be our our last visit to this restauarant. Really good food, lovely atmosphere, Sophie was our server this evening and she was amazing, on the ball, lovely and chatty, really made our evening. Can’t wait to come back

My first experience at Geisha's was good. The ambience is good with decorations. The menu is reasonable but a bit expensive. Food is tasty. The only issue is it is on the first floor. I am not sure if they have a lift. Toilets are clean. They have ample parking space.

Lovely decorations and staff but the food is just huge let down of this location. Even though it charges fairly high prices the cuts of meat are very poor and taste is very average.

They have nice Asian cuisine and aesthetics. Pity they play loud modern radio music for the contrast. It takes the atmosphere away. But it's good overall. Bit costly.

Always great food, lovely staff and a fun setting. It's a family favourite as we love all types of Asian cuisine.

Absolutely gorgeous food the staff where Brilliant.... the only down fall was my wife walks with a crutch and there some steep stairs to climb.. excellent place though
