horrendous. the member of staff operating the cloakroom would not give my jacket back to me after losing my ticket following a casualty where an ambulance had to be called for my boyfriend. Very insensitive to the situation - the jacket also had my wallet in it which would have verified my identity. The member of staff even stated she remembered me paying for the cloakroom service and remembered which jacket i handed over. Totally uneccessary that i now no longer have my personal belongings - including all of my id cards and banking cards. shocking

Great drinks, great atmosphere, good music. Managed to meet some nice people and had overall had a quality time here!

Basically a bad night club with rude and unprofessional staff. The bar and music is also woeful. Why would anyone want to go here.

Bouncers couldn’t give a s**t in this place, law onto themselves in this place, bouncers write the whole place off

I went with 2 friends, we are all fully vaccinated. The system that they used to prove vaccines was faulty and so refused entry to a friend despite the fact she had TWO alternative forms of vaccination proof. Bouncer had a KNIFE and pointed it at us telling us to f*** off. We felt intimidated and vulnerable. After trying again politely to prove vaccination he then told us he was calling the police, we told him to do so as we had done no wrong and he once again used profane language to insult us. After this, we didn’t want to give them our business and so walked away whilst he continued to hurl abuse at us. If garis doesn’t fire this under 6ft, clapped bouncer with a god complex you can expect nobody from Edinburgh uni to return to this establishment.

really good the atmosphere is good and would recommend 100 percent the music is great the drinks are amazing and the bouncers are super friendly

After the glass wash through a glass at me, he had me kicked out before I could complain. When I asked the security to review the CCTV, they told me it wasn't up to them. I entirely blame the incompident staff, rather then the bouncers. DONT GO.

This was my second time at Garry's and was very dissapointung. I am 18 years of age and was refused entry after seeing many UNDERAGE people entering the club. All security guards were very rude and insisted I was ‘drunk’ when in fact I had one glass of wine and was very sober. My ID was not even looked at and I was denied entry after being told I was ‘chucked’ out of a bar across the road I visited four hours prior to the visit. My visit to this club was humiliating and frankly very disappointing and the company should be ashamed. Even after asking to speak to the manager I was lied to my face, with one security guard insisting he spoke to the manager however he had been standing outside the whole time alone. I think the fact that every single guard was a MAN was sexist and frankly unfair that they assumed I was intoxicated however how would they know? I hope that the owner/manager sees this review and understands the utter embarrassment they have made themselves into and should really inform their guards on what a ‘drunk women’ looks like.

What a dump! NEVER GO. For some reason this place is open every night until 4am, serves very strong drinks to under age drinkers and as a result there are pissheads on the street all night long.

We requested Caroline three times. THREE TIMES. there is a line of disrespect, and the dj crossed it.

The interior could be mistaken for a squat while the dj found the playlist from my primary school disco. Definitely room for improvement.

Este club no es un lugar para ir si estás buscando un club en Edimburgo. Yo celebrar mis manos hasta el hecho de que soy un ordinario en garibaldis, todo el mundo tiene, hasta ahora, ha sido abrumadora agradable y servicial, ya me conocen y tenemos una charla cuando me vaya. Sin embargo, anoche me horroricé en la forma en que me trataron. Mientras yo estaba allí, alguien me robó mi bolsa de mi hombro, me pareció 20 minutos más tarde en el suelo pero le faltaba mi pasaporte, mi teléfono y 45 libras. Después de haber subido y hablado con el bouncer por un tiempo, me dijeron que era "demasiado borracho y demasiado 'para que se les vuelva en el club (sólo tenía una copa de vino). Sinceramente estoy desconcertada por la forma en que me trataron en la última noche y sospecho que usted puede perder un cliente muy fiel una vez.

Vine aquí el miércoles por la noche y fue sorprendentemente muy ocupado. Definitivamente dejaron entrar a mucha gente al mismo tiempo, ya que la gente estaba abarrotada y apenas había espacio para moverse. Aparte de eso, es un lugar agradable. El ambiente es bueno y hay una buena selección de música.

Fui a Garibaldi esperando un grupo normal de gorilas, pero descubrí que escogieron a ciertas personas de nuestro grupo para que no lo permitieran por razones cuantificables, eligiendo el genérico "Creo que también han bebido demasiado". Cuando se les pidió que dieran una razón real por la cual habían elegido a estas personas de entre la multitud que ingresaba, no pudieron dar una razón cuantificable.

Me fui con unos amigos después de una noche relativamente tranquila. Sólo tuvimos anteriormente a una cena de borrachera, beber, pocos bares y otro club. Primero nos dejaron entrar directamente con el alcohol, que era genial.

Jajaja estoy sorprendido por una baja puntuación para este lugar. . Mi primera impresión no estaba mal con éste. Buen baile. Buenas opciones para bebidas. Pero sí, no creo que merezca un 4 o un 5. Pero creo que fue una buena noche para nosotros este mes.

I was at Garibaldi's (briefly) two nights ago. The door-staff appeared to let in far more people than the venue could safely hold. After a few minutes downstairs, I wanted to get out of the venue because I did not feel safe so decided to walked immediately behind a bouncer who was trying to get through the heaving mass of people. However, despite much shouting, he could not move forward and eventually had to climb over a sofa because the crowd was too thick. My impression from the comments further down this chain is that Garibaldi's are consistently taking risks at their patrons' expense. If something bad does happen then there is a clear trail here showing that they have, over some time, wilfully neglected to be safe. Garibaldi's is a classic case of greed over welfare and safety.

Fuimos allí para bebidas - es un bar/club de última opción en Edimburgo. Un bar en el sótano, que no sea el más elegante establecimiento u he visitado. Aunque las bebidas son baratas, y el ambiente es agradable, el lugar era totalmente abarrotado. No se podía mover, bailar y respirar! Estoy seguro que había más gente allí que legalmente permitidos. Si un incendio ocurrido la gente habría muerto! Pasa de este sitio y vaya a Shanghai (club) o bourbon en vez

No vayas aquí. caro para una bebida, la gente es grosera y cobran una consumición mínima, incluso si no hay nadie en el bar. Probablemente la peor noche que he tenido en todos mis viajes por Europa. Sé que puede parecer muy particular y psico pero estoy diciendo - no vale la pena la molestia y decepción. Casco antiguo... Mucho mejor!!

La noche decepcionante en Año Nuevo 2016 como yo y otro chico negro se negaron entrada mientras otros entraron. El director dijo el propietario decidió ningún cliente negros en el club. estamos en 2016 o 1916 pueden estar en otra época? Went here after our graduation, small dance floor, over priced, bad music, over crowded and a genuinely bad club. If you wanna have a good night go to cab vol.

I was in Garibaldis last night and came outside to smoke. I was then told I was not allowed back in to the venue as I'd had too much to drink. When trying to explain in a reasonable manner that all of my stuff was inside such as my handbag/coat/flat keys and could one of them accompany me in to collect them or to ask a friend to bring them out the answer was no with no explanation or reasonableness given and actually very aggressive behavior. How they expected me to leave without my belongings is anyone's guess but I will be complaining to the management... and expecting no sensible response. Will not go here again. But that isn't any loss as it's a dive anyway.

As I said nothing to write home about, reasonable priced, good waiting staff, ordered steak, didn't look very appitazing when it came out, over done, thrown on plate with a few chips, piece of lettuce an a cherry tomatoe, had to ask for coleslaw to make a meal of it.

I had the unfortunate experience of attending "Garibaldi's", Hannover St, Edinburgh. Inside a young friend of mine, shy by nature, was assaulted by two men who can only be described as bordering on psychopathic. I tried to call the "security" doorstaff to have the men removed, only to find they were very good friends with the men who attacked my friend, and it was in fact my friend and I who were to be removed. The security staff then arranged for the aggressive men in question to wait for us outside. I saw that this was happening and immediately called the police. The police came and difused the situation. The security staff then abused their position to lie to the police about what had happened, leading to them to believe that my young, shy friend and I were to blame. The whole experience left me feeling very vulnerable. It appears that a culture of aggression and violence is not only supported by, but also organised by the "security" staff in Garibaldi's. Going to this establishment carries with it the inherent threat of violence from a group of men who frequent the bar, as well as the "security" staff who are their friends. A full police report has been made. I would advise extreme caution for anyone considering entering Garibaldi's. It is not safe, especially for the young and vulnerable.

I have been to Garry's a few times now. However, the reason I have to give a less than 5 star review is the door staff. The gent with the long blonde hair is brilliant. Very professional and can defuse a situation in a moment. I was told I couldn't not enter for no reason after finishing work 30 minutes prior down to the fact that I was wearing a cap. I suggest that the door staff (the very professional man i referee to earlier being exempt) should pay less attention to the pretty girls and more attention to those working in the industry that sustains them. Shall be back, but hopefully not when this bouncer is on.

Visited Garibaldi's for the first time last night - great music and setting - however the place was severely let down by the behaviour of the staff. One bouncer was very rude to me; I was pushed to the ground and dragged about by the wrist, the grip was so tight I am left with bruising today. Upon making a complaint to the manager on duty, I was told that the bouncer did nothing wrong. He had no time time to listen to me and was wholly unprofessional. Will not be coming back for a long time to come.

Best night out in Edinburgh, cocktails are amazing especially garibs special and the service is superb.Friday and Saturday night are always rammed and I have never had a bad night. Great crowd as well never had a problem and everyone is constantly mingling.

Coming from Malta, it was important that my first Scottish experience started off with a class night and garibaldis team made sure that happened. A vibe unparalleled in other venues with super service and a fantastic product. Love their menu and the garibaldis special should be a world renown beverage. 2 thumbs up!!

Don't go to Garibaldi's if you value your personal possessions + self respect. Went there a couple of weeks ago and was pick pocketed + had clothes taken. Average clientele clearly goes there to get sti + steal from others more fortunate than them. MAKE A GOOD LIFE CHOICE AND DO NOT GO HERE!!

Cocktails are brilliant in here, possibly the best I have had.Unfortunately their staff are like most bar staff in the city - guys who will only serve pretty girls and ignore you if you've been standing waiting for 10 minutes and they have been there for 10 seconds. The bouncers are absolute clowns also.

It's the only late venue place, that is close to where we are after finishing work. The door staff a belligerent, and rude, the staff are pretty much the same. The customers are always too drunk, and the bartenders free pour single and double shots, which is illegal. Having finished work yesterday we were told that no one was allowed in, and while standing at the door, two girls were allowed in, followed by 5 of their freinds. When we asked the doorstaff he blatantly lied to us and told us they were staff.Very dissapointed, considering that I also work in the industry.I would not recommend this establishment to drink in.

Great night, food & laughs with friends, but after going outside to meet my husband we were told by "bouncer in charge" that we were looking tired & should go for some food to sober up! Having told him that we r both teachers, working with irate children, we would never look refreshed & that I had eaten in the place only half an hour earlier was not enough for this "bouncer in charge" (also on a power trip) we decided enough was enough. I will be contacting the establishment tomorrow to speak to "someone who was REALLy in charge!" well done to u!!

Was strolling along hanover street looking for food one evening, and the mexican dude encouraged us over so we looked at the menu and went in. And it was the best mexican, absolutely beautiful! Heard some dodgy stories about the nightlife in their but its good for a meal and a cocktail! Very impressed, need to go back again.

The best place to party much better than el barrio. Can't wait till November when this place is open till 3 again! Great mix of people, good music, fab drinks and not 2 mention the most handsome bar tender in edinburgh! Garriebaldies I love you!

Another 'Favourite Haunt' of my associates - I have been to this establishment on at least a dozen occasions, pretty much on a monthly basis.Until my recent visit, I would have rated this as a 'Very Good', but had to give it a 'Poor' rating for the following reasons:1. My friend asked for a dish, on the menu that he almost always orders, and it was not available - okay - so he picks another one at a price of £7.95, at which point the Waiter spent 5 minutes trying to persuade my friend, why not to order this dish, and go for a more expensive, more inteersting one. That seems very unusual, given that if it was such a bad choice, why would they have it on the menu.2. The Waiter -and for the purpose of the management I will describe him, as the blonde surfer looking guy, perhaps the only one who does not look mexican - This waiter, asked on 3 occasions whilst sipping a drink, whilst eating, if we were finished yet. Certainly felt hurried by this waiter.3. At the end of dinner, since we turned down the offer of coffee's (but we did plan on having a margarita) - The waiter, turned up with bill, and told us to go to till and pay, as they had a booking due (seemed strange as only 3 of the 8 central tables were being used)These 3 reasons, are good enough to rate it very low... However, what I will say, is the 'usual' staff on every other occasion have been helpful and friendly on every occasion. Also, the pitchers of Margarita, are probably the best you will taste in Edinburgh. We have debated whether to return here for food, and as yet have not been back, but perhaps just for a Margarita we might return.

I went here for dinner on a sunday evening with a friend and was pleasently surprised! It wasn't very busy when we were there but from my student days i know to avoid this place on Friday or Saturday nights! We shared some veggie nachos to start and these were lovely, not loaded with sour cream and bland salsa you find in some places but lots of yummy refried beans :) I then had spicy chicken chimchangas, these were amazing!! The tortilla was nice and crisp but not at all greasy which ive had before. Portions were massive and I couldn't finish. Best thing was definitely the mojitos made with dark rum, they were amazing, quite strong and very minty not too sweet the way I love em! service was fine, nothing to fault or praise really.Definitely will go back for a boozy dinner!

Hardly surprised there aren't any reviews as most customers don't remember leaving! It can hardly be described as a culinary experience unless you like eating face! Enjoyed numerous evenings. The pole is a treat and the "Garibaldi Special" is just that. It does get completely rammed and surely they'd make more money if there was enough room to get to the bar
