Personally, its over priced, not worth it and staff are not generous with the ingredients. £9 baseline for a burrito, then an extra £1 for beef (not extra meat but just extra charge for beef over chicken) and then extra £1 for Guac (it was barely a teaspoonful) plus an extra £1 for some watery cheese sauce (literally so watery it was dripping out of the 5 layers of tinfoil it was wrapped in). Overall price and quantity does not add up and then you throw in the fact its just average tasting, 2nd time trying it and wont be going back again.

Really good quality food at a reasonable price

I popped in on Saturday 27th on my lunch hour. The girls at the counter were being verbally abused and harassed by a man of about 60! He was completely out of order very loud and aggressive. the poor staff we keeping calm but were visibly upset, there were also some children in the queue who were understandably very upset by the abusive behaviour of the man. I just want to praise the staff, they were amazing, very calm, polite and kept there composure. No one should have to put up with that. The St James security took an age to attend the incident and missed the whole event.

Love the burrito! The salsa roja was so spicy but so delicious! The chicken is halal.

Very friendly service , but the food is really poor. For example: you can break a tooth on a dried-out, very hard rice. Plus the price is way too high, in my opinion. I do not recommend.

Came in with my date and were greeted with extremely friendly staff who helped us decide what to get. Eimear stood out with her smile and made sure to let us know of any allergies in the churros and Kirsty provided us with all the options of sauces to flavour our burritos and gave us a good joke that made us smile and giggle. Over all great experience thanks to the helpful and friendly staff

Incredible food and amazing service

I believe the best Mexican fast food place in the Burgh. Prices are good, service is fast and a nice place to hang. Could do without all the little extra ditties. But such is the food world now. Next they'll be charging for the air you breath. Anyhoo. Recommended.

Charge £1.30 for a tiny spoonful of quac and basically anything you want in your burrito you pay extra for. Basically only rice and wrap are included 😂

Came to tortilla for a bite to eat after shopping all day, the food was amazing and the service was even better!! Lucy was fantastic, she provided explanations to allergens for all ingredients (I have a gluten allergy) and had a smile whilst doing so! If in Edinburgh I would definitely recommend!!

Went there for a lunch out with some friends and there was nothing to complain about, food was great and affordable and Lucy, one of the workers there, was very kind and helpful, 10/10 would definitely go again.

Came in for my lunch during my break, was served by Sami, she needs to listen to what the customer actually asks for. I specified for a medium beef bowl and she kept getting the order wrong, and then put a medium wrap in to get heated then I stopped and said medium beef bowl again and she gave me a bad attitude and a rude look. Throughout answering questioning relating to my order I never rushed her, her attitude and service was appalling and disgusting. If you aren’t happy with your job, leave!

We got a burrito combo with corn ribs & naked burrito combo with queso fundido & tortilla chips. Both medium & was a lot of food. Tasted great & friendly service.

The food is delicious, the employees are really polite. My only issue is that some of the seats are too high with tables that are too low.

Seriously delish! I’ve been to other Tortilla locations and this one is the best in my opinion. They are generous with servings and the food is so fresh and tasty. Lovely area to sit in and eat as well, staff are super friendly and helpful. Also the vegan chilli is so good, I come back anytime I’m in the area

It has a very rich flavor. I'm Mexican and the flavor is very similar to what I'm used to: beans, rice and the sauce (if it's spicy). Vincent's attention was very good, he helped us explain the menu step by step. I will return on my next visit to Edinburgh

Came in for food after a day of shopping with a friend in st James and had a GREAT time!! My burrito was amazing and I was surprised by the amount of ingredients to choose from! The service working was really kind with us as well, specially Rita, who served us with such positive energy :)

The Tortilla is located relatively far back on the 1st floor of the huge St.James Quarter shopping center and is one of many restaurants in this mall. As the name suggests, a small selection of Mexican cuisine is offered here. There are tacos, boritos and much more. As I said, the selection is modest. You order directly at the counter and can then choose the topping yourself. At the end of the counter you can still have drinks and then pay directly before you can sit down at a table with the trays. The waitress was nice and had a lot of patience with us (we had never been there before and didn't know the system). The food was tasty, if not entirely authentic, but that's not surprising. The portions, especially the nachos and the borito, were huge. My son (15) and I were more than full. For the nachos with toppings, the Borito, 3 tacos, some corn and extra cheese sauce, 1 beer and 1 cola we paid 37 pounds, or 44 euros. Not exactly cheap for fast food, but rather in the lower price segment for Edinburgh. If you're in a hurry or, like us, spending several days in Edinburgh, Tortilla is definitely worth a visit.

Omg this place is so slay. Everyone is lovely. From eimear asking me for a combo to Vincent giving me some silverware, Lucy bringing the freshest food from kitchen and rowane wrapping Perf burritos. AMAZING! I am so glad I got to experience eating such good food it honestly made my day and let me tell you why... First off, Edinburgh is very expensive generally but this place had good prices so I was able to order two mains for under £15. I also did not want to go over budget and thankfully there were stickers to explain exactly what was extra and the staff themselves were very patient with me asking to double check with everything. On top of this, most delicious toppings such as cheese, sour cream, salsa are not extras making my tacos and burritos very juicy and yummy! The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was very relaxed, including the music. I inhaled my food so quick I forgot to take a picture of my burrito but all around it was a perfect experience for me! Oh also there are NO unexpected service/tip fees :))

Food was tasty although quite messy. The staff were very rude and inconsiderate. Seemed to be fairly racist towards brown people, they offered my white friend options me and my other brown friends weren’t offered although we all ordered the same thing.

Staff were very attentive and explained the ordering process well as it has been a while since I've been. Good food and the vibe from the music and lighting was great.

Very soggy burrito. Would avoid at busy periods as staff don't look like they care for your custom (or like they enjoy their job). Food tastes good at least.

Order through just eat for a delivery for 1500. Phoned restaurant to see where it was and was told it was done and had gone out..she said she couldn't contact the driver I would have to speak to just eat..this Order was placed at 1130 and money taken for it..no delivery...shocking customer service

Ordered though Uber eats and the food delivered was delicious! I'm a bit of a spice addict so having the hot salsa actually pack some heat was a pleasant surprise! We both had burritos and they were fresh tasting and full of flavour. Would definitely order again and feel the price paid was worth the food.

Food was okay at the St James Quarter Tortilla but the service was poor. There was a problem with our order but the manager was unhelpful and couldn't be bothered to make much effort to resolve it. Won't be returning.

Lovely place to stop for a bite to eat. Only small issue we found is that there were no napkins to wash my son's hands and face he was a tad of a messy eater and the staff didn't have any to hand out

Overall this is a nice place but the chicken or beef is very bland in terms of taste and when you think Mexican then you take it as more spiced food.

Been eating local favorites for a few weeks and went looking for the familiar. It was ok. The spices were mild and the portions adequate.

Food was sad. Tastless and wet ( i ordered nachos and they were bland and wet. Little to no taste from the chease sauce. My friend ordered the burito and it was extremley bland aswell

I had tacos and nachos. The food was alright, but tacos could've been better. The soft shell tacos were too small, so I had to order 2 portions. I had been craving some Mexican for a while but never had it properly before. I'm not Mexican, and this was my first experience, so I was looking at my options. I needed some time to figure out what I wanted. Two ladies were quite patient, but there was one lady (pale white with specs) who was very rude. I was pointing at what I wanted because while I was trying to figure it out, one of the nice ladies was trying to tell me what those toppings were but my ADHD mind was finding it slightly difficult to make up my mind. My hand went a bit over the glass barrier, and that rude lady told me to move my hand back. Although it is fair but there's a way of saying it, and then at the end, while I was busy with the other lady, she again yelled at me the 2nd time when I couldn't hear her when she asked if I wanted any drinks. That ruined mine and my girlfriend's mood, and I couldn't focus on enjoying my food. We just tried to finish the food as soon as possible. My girlfriend suggested getting coke, but I didn't want to even go to the counter, and then we decided we'll get it from somewhere else.

came for quick dinner with my friend and had a really nice time. Jessica was very nice and served us quickly but didn't rush us c: we had two large burritos and churros with chocolate (churros were very nice but chocolate wasn't the best, ate most of them just plain). Btw. really cool mood, chill music and candles! (electric ones [good cause i would play with wax all the time lol]). It was my 3rd here and I will definitely come back :)

The staff was lovely and we felt very welcomed. My friend is gluten intolerant and the staff made sure to clean the surfaces and change their gloves to make sure her food hadn’t any trace of gluten.
