I ordered a sweet lassi, and found a small hair ,like hair of eyelashes I called the waiters to show them , but they pretended to don’t see and told me that it was just the bubble !!!

A Delightful Sri Lankan Culinary Experience. When a friend recommended Gana, a cozy Sri Lankan restaurant, we were eager to give it a try. Located in a not-so charming part of town, Gana promised a culinary journey through the flavors of Sri Lanka, and for the most part, it delivered on that promise. Although the decor left a little to be desired, the food and service more than made up for it. From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who greeted us promptly and offered us a choice of seating. The restaurant, though modest in size, exuded a sense of warmth and comfort. The seating arrangement allowed for a relaxed and intimate dining experience, making it perfect for both small groups and couples. The menu at Gana offers a wide range of traditional Sri Lankan dishes, but after some deliberation, we decided to go with the Mutton Fry Kothu, accompanied by a refreshing Mango Lassi. Both dishes came highly recommended by our server, and they did not disappoint. The Mutton Fry Kothu was a revelation. This dish, a Sri Lankan specialty, consists of finely chopped flatbread stir-fried with tender pieces of mutton, vegetables, eggs, and a blend of spices that was both aromatic and flavorful. The portion size was generous, easily enough for two people—especially for those of us in our mid-forties who no longer indulge in overly large portions. The mutton was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, and the spices were balanced beautifully, creating a dish that was both hearty and satisfying. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, and it was evident that the chef took great care in preparing this dish. While the food and service at Gana were impeccable, the decor left a bit to be desired. The restaurant's interior, though clean and well-maintained, lacked the vibrancy and cultural touches that one might expect from a Sri Lankan establishment. Speaking of hospitality, the service at Gana was nothing short of excellent. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring we had a great dining experience. The warmth and friendliness of the staff added a personal touch that is often missing in larger, more impersonal establishments. In conclusion, Gana is a hidden gem for those looking to explore the rich and diverse flavors of Sri Lanka. Despite the somewhat understated decor, the restaurant excels in delivering delicious, authentic food and top-notch service. We left Gana feeling satisfied and eager to return. Whether you're a fan of Sri Lankan cuisine or just looking to try something new, Gana is well worth a visit. We will definitely be coming back soon to explore more of what this delightful restaurant has to offer.

Very good service got my food on time the food was amazing.Very polite waiter and very generous and helpful.

Staff were friendly and service was fairly quick but food was very bad. The puttu was rock-hard. The vege kothu had an odd smell and was made with very cheap vegetables like broccoli. Couldn’t finish our food.

Lovely little place in the heart of wembley. I went there in need of a biryani and tried the chef's special. Mutton in the biryani was okay, chicken was one drumstick that was dry but well cooked in, seafood was also okay, but the rice itself was amazing. If you're in the mood for sweet then try the Jaggery Hopper, it's coconutty, condensed milky and sugary crispy tasty. Portions here are reasonable for the price, not cheap at £11 for chef's biryani, but reasonable.

We had vegetable noodles, rolls and omelette and all the dishes were done well.

Biriyani are the best there is no parking but the parking is in the road side we can order and pickup late in the night we can ask to adjust the food like hot or not vegetables things. They are the best biriyani sellers in the town because of the quality and the quantity of the food most of restaurants won’t give much for money but gana is much worth for money

This is a humble immigrant run family enterprise. The Wembley location is about 2 years, but the original location elsewhere in the London metro area has existed for approx 18 years. We were in search for idlis, filter kaapi, but were missing from the menu. Looking at the menu, tiffin is not their strength, nonveg seafood seems to be their ace card. Even tho we seemed to have arrived just as the eatery was opening up to eaters around 1030 am, a few take out orders were ready to go. Kudos to the immigrant spirit.

Really disappointed, my wife ordered food for collection and ask for fried mutton kothu which was repeated twice over the phone call as I was told it will be ready within 10 mins. Once arrived, I've mention about mutton fried kothu and paid for it as the person in charge nodded his head. Than ask for confirmation a 2nd time and was told that it was a normal mutton kothu. It was silly that I already paid and was told in the end that they don't make it. If they busy with customer on Friday night, the staff members in charge needs to write down the order on paper or on screen as they can't be saying one thing over the phone and something else face to face.

We went in to the restaurant with high expectations but the food is below average nothing special all the foods was cold , it has been disappointment after disappointments .Want be back again totally disappointed , would not recommend even for trial. Hope this comment is helpful to the owners .👎

The restaurant is a typical Srilankan style with a few options of south Indian dishes.. The place is very crowded on weekends... The portions are quite large so be quotious while ordering.. The last time I visited tried to order mutton sukha and ended up getting mutton vindalo which burned my pallet... Food is spicy

As usual, never disappointed by Wembley Gana Restaurant. Food as always delicious. That's why we don't mind drive from Luton for yummy foods. Totally worth it and most importantly my children got nuts allergies and some of us can't eat too spicy. Like always, never disappointing our food is catered according to our needs. 💯 recommended 👌

Went to Gana yesterday and I have never had such tasty food. We had set menu string hopper with mutton curry and 3 veggies, Mutton roll, Fish cutlet and Lumprais... Will recommend all of these.. Best Sri Lankan food I have had in London.

First time dining in at Gana, don’t be fooled by the small floor space, they have more seating downstairs. The service was good and very promptly, although one or two items were forgotten to be served it wasn’t added on the bill so am happy.

The workers were very sympathic and i feeled like a very worthful customers. The foods were very fresh and tasty. They served a lot portions, that we have to take some foods back to hotel. The foods werent bad on the next day although we dont habe a fridge. I was three times and i was happy every time. They have unfortunately not so much tables, but waiting was no problem.

Super service 👌 value to money and flavour. Ask for shinu for the best advise what to order and how much to order as she can advise the best. Must Try the dish of the day but get finished so would recommend to book and visit 😊 for the best experience.

Food is decent. Service is excellent, thanks to a dedicated waitress named Sini who always gets our orders right and on time. Atmosphere can be better though. The "family space" downstairs (where the toilets are also located) needs to be avoided, if you are looking for a pleasant dine-in experience

Today We had Sri Lankan flavour Mix Koththu and Mix Sea Food Fried Rice. That was really good. Super spicy taste. We had best Sri Lankan foods for affordable prices. Super Customer service. Highly Recommended!

One of the best Sri Lankan food. No compromise on taste and authenticity of flavour. Fresh, healthy and hearty. A must try - Puttu (Mutton) and Gana Special Biriyani with some nice beers or local drinks.

Good place with authentic Sri Lankan food, mutton curry was really good. Food is spicy but in a good way. A negative is that it's cash only, there is no signs anywhere that tell you that.

*SEVERE FOOD POISONING ALERT* This is the first time we have been to Gana in Wembley, we normally go saravanna Bhavan but we decided to try something new. Upon entering, we were not greeted and just told from far to go find a seat. Didn’t know this was a fast food restaurant so upstairs was packed and we went downstairs. I found it very untidy and eaten dishes we’re still there and no new sheets have been put on the table. We had to ask to get it cleaned so after cleaning, we sat down next to the toilets which I found quite nasty, and there was no toilet paper, again had to ask on behalf of my family members. The surroundings made me feel uneasy as it didn’t feel like I was sat in a restaurant. Low lighting with dirty floors and bare walls. Most of us were vegetarian except me and my other family member. I decided to get snacks instead of full course as I felt uneasy eating here. The guy who served us, who seemed to be doing it all and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was cooking too, he had excellent memory and didn’t take any notes down of our order and instead remembered. Food was ok, nothing special and the cost was again ok for what we ordered. Main reason for one star is one of my family members is severely ill as a result to food poisoning the same night we ate, and it’s been over a week now, he still hasn’t recovered and has been off work to recover. Absolutely shocked as he did say one of the chicken was a bit weird tasting on the day. My experience with Gana has been not a great one and we won’t be eating here again under no circumstances. Hope they never have this major issue for anyone else who eats here.

Authentic Sri Lankan/Tamil restaurant. Wide variety of dishes, especially those who like spicy fare. I had their special biriyani and mutton kothu poratta (recommended!), and they were very tasty and felt authentic. The portions are very generous, it is great value for money. The service was prompt as well.

Worst experience to date! I called on the phone to order food, however the person on the call did not take my order. They said they were busy and simply just cut the call. We called two more times and the same thing happened. I understand that a restaurant may be busy but to simply deny a customer service is beyond unacceptable, especially on Mothers' day.

Really good prices! Good portions, great food and nice and hot.

The good: food was spicy, tasted good and was piping hot. Very cheap - £30 for two with beer. Busy, buzzing atmosphere. The bad: cafe was full and food took some time to arrive. Two of our dishes were being delivered to the wrong table when the waiter realised, took them back to the kitchen and brought them out to us two minutes later. I watched him in the mirror! Our sides dishes arrived half way through us finishing our mains. Bread we ordered arrived as we were finishing. Slightly chaotic and, frankly, it’s a minimum expectation that dishes that go together pretty much should be delivered together. This was at a Sunday lunchtime, before a big match, so things may be different at quieter times.

My girlfriend is Tamil, so she wanted to bring me to a proper authentic Sri Lanka Tamil restaurant and Gana did not disappoint. I had a selection of foods I've never had before and I can't wait to have them again! Three veg currys and one chicken curry, I can't pick a favourite, they were all so good and different to anything I've ever had. Then instead of rice we had string hoppers which worked so well with the curry. The Sri Lankan beer was great too. The value at the end was amazing, had to check the bill twice, so so cheap.

One of the best Sri Lankan and South Indian restaurants in London. Has a very nice atmosphere with great music. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is perfectly priced and arrives fast. They have lots of seating with child friendly seating options too. Would highly recommend.

Took a friend to Gana and it was our first time but the food was very tasty and quality. One of the best asian foods we've eaten. The restaurant was very neat and tidy. The customer service was exceptional as well. Get's busy usually due to the demand. Very well kept.

We ordered takeaway on 19 dec 2020, Mutton curry and Rabbit fry. Pros. 1. Good staff. 2. Food is colourful. Cons. 1. Mutton curry was ok but not up to the mark. 2.Rabbit fry tasted like very very old and full oily. 3. Me and my wife were experienced very bad stomach pain and diarrhoea for two days. She even took a leave from her duty today. As she is an NHS staff, a short noticed leave in this corona virus pandemic will affect the performance of her A&E department.

Wanted to have quick snacks due to covid 19 most of the restaurants accept card only but to in this restaurant take away you need order minimum of 5£ For take way if paying by card. Wanted chicken rolls in a 1 portion (£ 1.75) so had to order more I won’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Big portion this is just one good point of the food thats why i gave one extra star. We ordered rice with chicken, veg and mix of the meat with noodles. Everything was without taste. And the worst thing service charge 4.20£.

I have been eating since 1999, almost 20 years, today I visited after almost 5 years. It was good to see the same Head chef and most of the team are still same. The food was amazingly still the best Authentic Sri Lankan food. I tried Chicken Liver and Mutton Kothu. Price hasn’t changed much, I don’t know they survive with similar prices for so long and still retain high quality food. Would love to visit again soon, hats off to Head chef , team and Management.
