Galloways Bakers in Wigan

Acabo de comprar una baguette de jamón y queso. La chica joven tenía un acento muy fuerte y no podía entender bien. £ 4 por una baguette pequeña, cuando puedo comprar un pan de mejor calidad y más fresco del mercado. Quería intentarlo, nunca más. No para mí.

Gran Sándwich pero la experiencia fue decepcionada por el personal desencantado miserable haciéndole un favor al servirle. Tristemente, demasiado común en estos días

Sugar rush or what.too much sugar goes in very unhealthy and can't even taste chocolate .don't recommend going here for desert

This is for Ashton in Makerfield shop.Could not find Ashton on Tripadvisor so did Wigan… Senior person not very friendly- last 3 weeks said dont do chunky steak on mondays, then 2nd week said we only get 35 on mondays, then this week only got deep filled. Website says daily! Dont like to be lied to.Got 3 tuesday but not given bag to carry them back- woman after me got given two bags for similar order. Poor weather too…. Not very good at looking after customers.Young staff generally much better.

Came for footie, but the main reason really was to try the famous Wigan Kebab. Worth the visit!! Cracking food!!

Love all their pies and sausage rolls I live in aintree but always pop in if I'm in Wigan or passing by billinge

Don’t go anywhere else! more fillings in all of their products compared to other pie retailers, other retailers are mostly pastry and are rather too hot or too cold. Galloways have got it right in all departments. Baked the traditional way, fantastic if it’s not broke don’t try to fix it.

In reality, Wigan isn't short of pastry options but Galloway's gives a decent deal of quality against being one of the slightly cheaper bakery's. You want a 2 for £1 pasty...head across the road 30 yards...you want to pay more....50 yards and down the hill...you want food that wont give you heartburn and costs under £2 and you're in the right place.

If you fancy a pasty, pie or sandwich this place is great. The pasties contain more filling than pastry and are delicious.

Really, really good pies. I bought some fresh to put in the freezer, and some hot to eat on the street. I think it's the pastry that does it - it's kind of half way between shortcrust and flaky so is slightly crunchy with a satisfyingly high fat content.

Hi, has a regular customer of your shops I went into market place wigan to buy a pie on Friday lunchtime. One of your staff members was calling a previous customer so I wasn't impressed with that. I asked for a meat pie and got my £10 out to pay and was met with " have you not got any less than that? I can tell you now I can't change that, I have no pound coins, can't do it" I said " a busy pie shop on a Friday and you've no change? There's several banks across the road" it was said in very ignorant manner to me has well. So, off I went to nearby greenhalghs and got a lovely meat pie and was served with respect. Hence i think you may have lost my custom for the future. Regards, Susan Wiggins 😕

I sometimes pop in here while in town, because the pasties are delicious and they are always friendly.

Wigan is famous for pies and these are among the best. Try their butter pie, a local delicacy, meat pie or a pasty. Or they will put your pie in buttered soft roll, or barm! Different...

Staff pretty friendly, food is always hot sometimes the bacon is dry and over cooked, pretty busy at times leading to a wait to be served, very handy to get a takeaway for the train.

Always call in here if in Wigan. Love both the meat and meat and potatoe pies. Although if i had to choose would pick meat,

I would say that Galloway's are the best bakery shop in wigan, every thing they make and sell is delicious, you have to visit this shop when you come to wigan ,after all were not called pie eaters for nothing .

Sadly I can't praise this bakery too highly as the food I got from it was not that good. I appreciate that I ordered my bacon roll at 10:30 in the morning but I would still expect it to be slightly warm. I got the impression that this particular batch of bacon had been sitting on the hot tray for some time. This wouldn't have been a problem if I'd been provided with some tomato sauce. But I wasn't. Perhaps I should've asked for some, but I didn't. Some bakeries would have offered me some but this one did not. The end result was that my bacon roll was dry and required a lot of chewing. Come on Galloways, you can do better than this.

Best pies I have tasted in a long time, (nearly as good as my mum's home made meat pies). Worth a trip to Wigan just to buy the pies.

Galloways is a true local fantastic bakery, their Pork Pies and Cakes all home made style are fabulous. Their chunky steak pie is exceptional. A little bit dearer than other local confectioners but well worth it.

I do not use this pie shop, nothing looks appetising, the look of the product to me does not look good

Recommended by friends who have sampled food from here at buffets. Decided to see what the fuss is about. Mmmm scrummy, try it yourself.

Bought some bread to take home, very nice, couldn't resist buying some cakes as well . Large selection of products to choose, difficult to decide.

A lot of other pie and cake shops around which are cheaper but not as good, you can taste the better quality ingredients in both the pies and cakes.

Great choice of pies, savouries and made sandwiches. Good value for money . Lunch specials including soups and pie & peas
