Eight years in London, and Gallipoli has been a constant. Longer for some—decades of regulars walking through the same doors, greeted with the same warmth. You don’t get that in a city obsessed with the new. Yes, the Zeytinyağlı Bakla is soft, rich with olive oil, and exactly what it should be. Yes, the Çöp Şiş is charred just right, tender inside, never disappointing. But if you’ve been here long enough, you know that’s not the whole story. What makes Gallipoli matter isn’t just the food—it’s the way you’re treated. The kind of place where you’re a guest, not just a customer. And in London, that’s rarer than it should be.

What a vibe! Went for dinner on a Saturday and there was at least 4 different birthday celebrations for which staff put on a happy birthday song and come out singing and clapping! And there was a belly dancer for those who enjoy that sort of thing lol food was great too. Service was quick and friendly. Always a good shout.

I believe that they will receive 1 point as a return, not as a punishment. I think it is right to give this star rating due to the small portions, the charging of money for the tea served as a treat, and the high pricing. Thank you for making my evening worse.

Everything was amazing. The food, the atmosphere, the service. Our food was cooked stunningly and melted in our mouths on the first bite, especially the ‘cop shish’! I had booked for my birthday and they took care of us really well and we had a lovely night out.

We attended Gallipoli Restaurant for a family birthday. The restaurant offers a range of Turkish food with mezze and grilled meats. The service was very friendly and attentive. The portions were also generous. Unfortunately we were sat towards the front of the restaurant close to the door which was a bit draft. Still the food, atmosphere and service made for a good atmosphere.

A Fantastic Birthday Destination! I recently celebrated my birthday at Gallipoli restaurant, and I couldn't have chosen a better venue! The food was absolutely delicious – consistently good across the board. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. Beyond the tasty food, Gallipoli provided the perfect atmosphere for a birthday celebration. The ambiance was lively and fun, creating a memorable experience for me and my guests. I highly recommend Gallipoli for anyone looking for a great place to celebrate a special occasion. It truly made my birthday party a success!

I have visited Gallipoli restaurant more than 20 times for the last two years, a great place to fill your stomach with delicious Mediterranean food and traditional desserts. It has never disappointed me. Staff always friendly and the service appropriate. Only thing I would change is the pricing which is relatively high. Other than that Gallipoli restaurant is a must go either for lunch or dinner.

I checked out the restaurant at the beginning of November 2024, and honestly, the most memorable thing was a tiny mouse scurrying around on the floor. My table and the one next to us were shocked! I get that in London, the buildings are old and it's not uncommon to see a rodent or two, even with pest control. But when we told the waitress, she couldn't have cared less—no embarrassment at all, which bothered me even more than the mouse incident. As for the food, it was pretty mediocre for what we paid; I could whip up something better in my own kitchen. On the bright side, the ambiance & decoration was nice!

This is our absolute favourite Turkish restaurant in London. Their dinners are beautiful but actually the hidden gem is their breakfast. Going here on a Sunday is a staple in my family! The cheeses and the breads are exactly like you’d find in Istanbul. We’ve had many a great meal here so this review is long overdue.

Beautiful decor and the food was unbelievable as well. Not only did it taste great but they could easily be charging more than they are The staff were also truly lovely people - I've forgotten their names unfortunately but we were served by the guy with the mullet and another girl, both were fantastic. We will definitely be returning.

The best place to enjoy a lovely and authentic Turkish food. The mixed meze, chicken shish and mixed kebab were our choices together with a couple of Efes beer. Friendly staff and homemade baklava make it a top notch restaurant for a full experience🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I came across this restaurant while walking in angel Islington with my friend. The service was amazing, the waiter Mr Mert was very attentive and helpful. I ordered the chicken Gallipoli and it was bursting with flavour, do remember to ask for chilli sauce on the side. My friend ordered slow cooked lambed and it tasted perfect. The environment is very good. I came on a Saturday evening and it wasn’t loud at all rather it was cosy and comfortable. Sitting next to the fireplace made the experience even better.

Such a nice breakfast, It would have been better if tea was served in a thermos for breakfast, because Turkish tea is served in very small glasses.

Lovely Turkish restaurant in an area with some competition. This restaurant has interesting decor and a pleasant ambience. Their table lamps and wall coverings lead to a cosy atmosphere. This is a great Turkish restaurant. Attentive and friendly staff, good varied menu, lovely place. The prices are maybe slightly on the high side for the quality, however the atmosphere inside is wonderful so you certainly won’t feel ripped off. £30-40 a head for a good meal

Well, it's a normal Turkish restaurant, they said there was music and entertainment, so we made a reservation, there was very low music playing, and a Venezuelan belly dancer came and we sang a few jokes, the food was good, I mean, there's no one coming to the classical table and asking if everything is okay, how is the food, are you comfortable, if you're hungry, eat your food and go. If you're into it, come.. I am commenting again because Ms. GÜLER. After asking for the bill, we wanted to issue a service charge and Ms. GÜLER came to our table with the receipt and asked who Ms. Gulay was and she read my comment and started criticizing me. We were a group of 7 people, we went for our friend's birthday, she spoke like a child scolding everyone, and it ruined the night we had enjoyed, so to speak. did. I gave 2 waiters to you, so I came and went. He talked about what you were not happy with. We don't have a license, so we can't play music, etc. Anyway, my wife made the necessary explanation to her. I hope Ms. GÜLER had a good or bad experience. We asked her about being open to criticism while making the reservation, and the phone was on speakerphone. Everyone heard it while making the rez. Anyway, no one came to us and asked about our satisfaction. There are cameras in the restaurant, they can turn them on and look. Even if we have a chance to go again, this is a place I will NEVER go to. This is a place I will NEVER recommend to anyone. (By the way, we paid the service charge after this action.)

Not been here for years (don’t know why) but that will no longer be the case. Delicious lunch, lovely flavours, generous portions, delightful service & a very nice cosy interior - comfortable, relaxing & not loud. We’ll certainly be back very soon. Suits meat eaters & vegetarians perfectly.

Terrible Experience The service at Galipoli on Upper Street was awful.the waiters were rude and inattentive. The bartender seemed more interested in chatting than making drinks, which took forever to arrive. The food was bland, overpriced, and the whole place felt chaotic. Definitely not going back.

One of the nicest and oldest Turkish restaurants in the Upper Street hub of eateries, great selection of drinks mezes and mains. What could be a lovely ambience was spoilt by miserable looking staff who just looked unhappy, lost and unsure of what to do and even as I walked in I felt guilty of trespassing. One would greet their customers with a fake smile, but unfortunately the staff spoilt it for me. Not very attentive or alert or concerned on how our table is going with a regular 20 min check in, I feel the rating is very generous considering we spent £500.

Service, once we were seated was non-existent which is appalling considering we were there from 4:30pm and it was not busy. Tables were not cleared, even after other diners around us had paid and left. We were not attended to after initial orders were placed and food arriving. Grilled meats were over cooked, cold mezze straight out of the fridge cold. Really disappointed and spoiled what should have been a lovely family meal to celebrate a birthday. There are far better places to eat in and around Upper Street.

The food is high quality, never disappoints.

This is hands down the *best* Turkish restaurant on Upper Street, and it’s easy to see why they’ve been a staple here for so long. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years, and the quality of food and service has never faltered. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The menu is packed with authentic Turkish dishes and the service is always spot-on. Whether it’s a casual weeknight dinner or a special occasion, this place never disappoints. A true gem on Upper Street!

Unfortunately a disappointing evening. Reservation was for 6:30 and we had ordered in advance. There was some miscommunication as starters didn’t come out until 1.5 hours later with the waiter saying they were waiting as we ordered drinks. They were very busy and a table arriving after us was served before us. They had to check our names a couple times and generally a couple of them had a poor attitude. Starters were tasty but the main took a further hour to arrive so 2.5 hours after reservation time. Some of our group had to leave as soon as the food arrived. Mine was stone cold and when I complained they reheated on the grill which dried it out. The salad was very sour. For £40 (£35 plus service charge) it was not worth it. No discount was offered for my cold food and we were charged a service charge when we had to complain several times. One waiter said ‘what do you expect it’s the busiest night of the year!’ Does that mean serve a table arriving after us before us? Whats the point asking for an order in advance then. Several people had cold food which is unsafe. No apologies given and they forgot to remove the reservation charge from our bill. Overall unprofessional and cannot manage several large group bookings at once.

Got an appointment for 6:30pm, got our starters at 8pm which was completely ridiculous because the people we came before was already having their mains and when our mains came around 9:15pm it was so cold and the salad was super zesty. I would never recommend here to anyone because the staffs were giving us the attitude. Honestly disappointed. Good was completely disgusting because it was bland.

I organised a work Christmas dinner here and it was a big hit with the team. They cater for all dietary requirements inc vegan, gluten free, dairy free, halal, pescatarian, vegetarian and meat eaters. The food was tasty and generous! The restaurant is beautiful! The staff are very friendly and efficient. I also want to say that they were very flexible when I can had to made to make multiple changes due to members of the team not being to make it. I will def be coming back. Thank you!

Just ordered a take out normally lovely with salad and chilli sauce Nothing just four kofte with plain rice so bloody boring £29 what an absolute waste of money ! Tried phoning to let them know no answer just such a shame so disappointed, phoned got through lady on phone was rude but said she’d refund that was the 30th nov now 3rd Dec nothing totally unacceptable order at least 2x a week for this restaurant, won’t be from now on ! I don’t expect rubbish food for £29 quality was poor for a Turkish flavourless not a bit of salad and no sauce!

Really enjoyed the food from here. The salad was crisp and the meat tender and flavoursome. The rice could have been more buttery but still tasty!

First time there, chef special meze for two was tasty and really good value. Cocktail, Efes from a bottle, Ice cream and Turkish coffee all excellent. Belly dancer bonus! (Toilets are down steep stairs) Overall great atmosphere on Saturday night, will try the lunch menu soon.

Service was on point, and the atmosphere is great. Mocktail was even quite good. Food is pretty bad though. The hummus had the consistency of mashed potatoes, it was so dry and lumpy. We ordered skewers of chicken and lamb, and these must’ve been the smallest meat skewers I’ve ever seen. Ordered a lamb pastry and it was all bread and no lamb. One of the few Mediterranean restaurants where you can spend £30+ per person ordering several meat dishes and come out having eaten 5 grams of protein.

Reservé el restaurante para el cumpleaños de mi novio. La comida era agradable, uno de los platos de meze era particularmente bueno, nos gustó los cócteles y el servicio era bueno. Me sorprendió que no había pan o chapuzones en la mesa teniendo en cuenta la mayoría de los restaurantes turcos que he estado para tener que como estándar. Cuando reservé el restaurante mencioné que era el cumpleaños de mi novio y que me gustaría una buena mesa. Cuando llegamos allí el camarero dijo que podíamos sentarnos donde quisiéramos, lo que no parecía particularmente especial. Vi otra mesa con música de cumpleaños y pasteles. Mi novio no consiguió nada que fuera muy decepcionante, me pareció extraño tener que decir que tenemos un cumpleaños aquí también. Era una comida normal, nada muy especial.

No me gusta dar malas críticas, pero hay que hacerlo. Estaba muy decepcionado con la comida. Comí el guiso de pollo cocido a fuego lento, no estaba cocido a fuego lento, era pechuga seca y bastante dura, mi mamá tenía el kofte, que era como una hamburguesa de ternera sosa, el hummus picado de cordero era agradable, pero no volvería. Vergüenza.

The whole team at Gallipoli are a delight. We had a big birthday dinner for my friend on a busy Saturday night and it was the perfect evening. The set menu is fantastic value for money & the food and cocktails were delicious. The cherry on top was the belly dancer - she was brilliant and had us all up dancing with her. We went as a family and the space was very comfortable, had high chairs for our 2 year old, brought him a colouring page and were so kind to him. The service was lovely and the food was delicious. We would definitely come again and recommend.

Would recommend the 120 Upper Street special, really nice meal but worth asking for extra chilli sauce as without that we all felt it would be quite dry. The starters are great - would recommend ordering the baba ganoush, hummus and breads - all very high quality and freshly made. Felt a little bit expensive, we had a Diet Coke and a starter / main each and it came to £41 per person. Not too bad but for what we got it felt a bit steep. Great place to come for a pre cinema meal (this is what we did) as the Odeon Luxe is literally a 2 minute walk from here as well as the Everyman on the green. The staff were great, restaurant has really nice interiors and if you can get a table in the back area I’d recommend.

Always great service and excellent food. One of my favourite places in the area and never lets me down. I always bring here friends who visit from different countries and everyone always comment on how great this place is. Unique interior is something that really attracts at first, but you will definitely come back if you try the food and experience the service here.

This is a wonderful restaurant with very friendly, hospitable staff and appetising food that I can't recommend enough. It's one of the best Turkish restaurants that I've been to. Don't miss out!
