We were walking along the harbor in Portrush and had lunch at The Galley Cafe. There is a terrace overlooking the harbor, but it seemed to be a place where people smoked. We decided to eat inside beside a large window. We had a quiche and a ham toastie. They came with French fries and coleslaw and a small green salad. It was very good. The restaurant is inside the Portrush Yacht Club. At first we were not sure if it was open to the public, but it is...

Normally the standard of service at the harbour area is excellent. As a regular at the ramore complex, I was maybe expecting too much. We ordered our food, we were grunted at by the server and sighed at, even though there was nothing irregular about our order, two full frys and a tea and coffee, pretty standard I thot. We were instructed to sit down and our food would be brought to us, and it was, slammed down at the end of the table and the waitress stormed away.......really!!! Food was ok but the standard of service was absolutely dire

Don’t even think about it. Pub food is not difficult to do well, so it’s genuinely worrying when a pub gets it so wrong. A few tips for the management: 1. A teaspoon of cheese and one slice of ham does not a toastie make. 2. When someone finds hair in their food, it is customary to offer them a refund. 3. Please do not microwave pastry. A quiche should be crisp, not rubbery. 4. Asking people a table number when they order will stop the teenage waitresses from wandering round for ten minutes asking ‘is this yours?’ It might also help the food arrive hot. Save yourself time and money and go up the Main Street to Kiwi’s, who know how to do pub food. That’s exactly what we should have done, lesson learned.

Have ate here several times last year and always been excellent. Unfortunately there seems to have been a few changes. Orders are now placed at the counter rather than waiter/waitress. Menu is reduced. Varied versions of fried breakfast, salmon etc has now gone. Toast with breakfast no longer included in price. Top ups of tea/coffee with breakfast were previously free, now costing £1. Quality is still good but as I walk past several establishments offering the same and more choice to get here means I will spend less time here. I'm sure this will be the case with many more regulars.

My daughter and I have been waiting to try here for ages. Stood for 5 mins at counter nobody acknowledged we were there and then when we went to be served they took the man before me. We walked out and went to a nice wee cafe up the road where we were made welcome. Won't be back!!!!

I generally do not like the eateries at the bottom end of Portrush - BUT - today i found the Galley Kitchen at Portrush Yacht Club - and had a very acceptable mid morning snack - brill breakfasts and coffee !! We will defo be back - - this is a superior alternative! They also do lunches but nothing after 3.00pm ? Unfortunate but maybe that will change.

Had the mini grill this morning which was excellent. You would need a very big appetite to eat the bigger Galley Grill if this is what they call "mini". Free coffee top ups and all for less than a fiver. Service was super even though the place was packed, very friendly and quick. Such a lovely setting as well with the option to sit on the balcony if it's sunny. Will definitely be heading there for breakfast again.

I reviewed the Galley Kitchen in March and was a little disappointed. Not this time. We went for breakfast on Saturday morning, the food was superb, service excellent and with the sun shinning we were able to eat outside on the balcony overlooking the harbour. One of the best venues in Portrush.

Visited yesterday 18/4/15 for lunch with friends.Location is superb situated on the harbour & the renovation of the building has created a bright modern feel.Lunch order of 3 fish pies & 1 chicken & mushroom pie quickly served pipping hot in ceramic pots which were well filled. However the fish pies whilst very tasty contained little or no fish, it had a potato topping & had been padded out with chunks of potato. However the the chicken pie had plenty of chicken & mushroom filling & was declared very tasty.Coffees & lovely small tray bakes to follow were excellent.Service was prompt & friendly. In good weather sitting on the balcony with the view over the harbour will be the place to be.I can see this spot becoming very very popular & rightly so. But please put some fish in the fish pie!!!!!

I have eaten in the Galley at Portrush Yacht Club several times since it opened (I live nearby) and have tried most of the items on the menu. The restaurant is located within Portrush Yacht Club in a light airy room with panoramicviews over Portrush Harbour. The food is prepared fresh using many local ingredients and is excellent, the portions generous and the service is fabulous.

The newly refurbished yacht club looks super and is an ideal spot for a cafe, there is plenty of space between the tables, the staff are friendly and there is generally a very nice atmosphere. I found the food terribly disappointing, I had the fish pie and my partner had the chowder, both dishes were at best average and essentially the same, one was served with baby potatoes (the chowder) and one with mashed potato (the fish pie). I would rate the fish pie below Sainsbury's Taste the difference fish pie and well below the standard of the fish pie that used to be on the Wine Bar menu. Initially I tried to order the All Day Breakfast but I was told it was no longer available. Overall disappointing, but the staff seemed terribly nice and I hope it works out well for them.

Came here for first time on Friday for the 'all day' breakfast [kitchen closes at 3 pm] - I'm local and can't believe it's taken me this long. Was it good? - I went back on Saturday with my husband so that would be a yes! Had the filled bap Friday [2 sausages, bacon, egg] and the pancakes and bacon Saturday, with tea refilled at my pleasure and toast - £4.95!!!!!! A table of ladies beside us were having the lunch options - one lady recommended the chowder because it was her second visit that week but they went for the fish pie - they got a casserole dish each, with wheaten bread. The room has a glass wall which looks out over the balcony right into the harbour and along the East Strand - great unobstructed views. took the weekend newspapers and whiled away the morning. Lovely helpful staff, very clean, nice atmosphere with no pressure to move. Pity it closes for food at 3pm because its more than able to compete with other more well known establishments nearby - though I suspect it would lose the comfort aspect if it became more well known and had longer opening hours - maybe I should rethink this review lol!

Came here this morning for breakfast with two friends. My first thought on arrival was wow. I loved it instantly. Great seating, very clean and cheery atmosphere. We ordered quickly got our drinks straight away and before we knew it, our food was at the table.I had the all day breakfast, beautiful isn't the word. I was very surprised that it all wasn't deep fat fried like everywhere else in Portrush. The staff were going round with a tray offering out free fresh heart shaped shortbread as it was valentines day. In a nutshell, great food, staff, service and scenery. Will most definitely be back. Keep up the great work.

Didn't like the fact that I couldn't use my Costa Club Card here. Spent a lot on drinks but never got any beans because my Card was Costa UK and not Costa Ireland. Is Nothern Ireland not UK ?

Their menu highlights locally sourced, fresh ingredients, offering a great variety of brunch options. The coffee is top-notch, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Service is friendly and efficient, making it a lovely place to unwind. Perfect for a brunch while enjoying the stunning coastal scenery.

We stopped here after driving some of the Causeway Coastal Route and the ice cream was delicious! There were plenty of flavours to choose from (making it very hard to pick!) and they were really reasonably priced. The view out of the window was of the sea too so that was an added, beautiful bonus. Would definitely recommend a stop here, especially if you are doing the Coastal Road.
