I have stayed here several times over the years with dogs. I stayed recently and was a bit disappointed. Breakfast used to be brilliant - very poor quality now. Reception staff - some good - some not very friendly. It is dog friendly but to be honest the hotel is very run down since the last time I stayed - at the price they charge they need to update. I suppose it's since COVID and staff are hard to get these days. The dog enjoyed her stay 😊

My family and I stayed for 2 nights last week. Room/bed was clean but the room was very run down. Do not eat in the restaurant I ordered a burger which cost me £19 just for the burger and it was like a McDonald's burger, very overpriced menu and not nice food. The breakfast is awful and the breakfast staff are not very pleasant seemed like they don't want to be there and not very helpful. Our room had a constant humming noise like the sound of a generator on all day and night which kept us awake both nights plus the outside lighting coming through the window made the room light up quite badly. The hotel is very run down and I know it's dog friendly, but you can smell dog everywhere. I would not recommend this place to anyone. No option to give no stars cause it is not worth any.

Very good experience. The food was excellent and the beer on tap was cold. My partner and I both had steak and Guinness pie that was really tasty and well-prepared, and our son had prawn linguine that the Chef kindly prepared with less chilli than advertised on the menu, at our request. The prices were average for the hotels and restaurants in the area. We benefitted from a reduced price for a 2 course meal by taking an early sitting between 4 and 6pm.

We ordered a few starters to share between the kids. Everything was lukewarm and I sent some of it back. After complaining to the manager, he came over and apologised and said it's because they only had two chefs on. Not really my problem, and not an excuse for food that awful. The prices are a rip off too and certainly above the average for the area. In my opinion, this place is a bit of a tourist trap: go have a drink, enjoy the views, but don't order any food. You'll regret it.

We did not stay at the hotel but booked a table for an evening meal in the restaurant, our second meal there this week. We were a party of seven in total. All of us ordered different dishes and all meals were perfect. The service was excellent - really friendly staff making everyone feel special. I didn’t catch the names of all those that served us but Leon and Imogen did stand out as being particularly attentive and good at their jobs. With food and staff this good, we will be back again.

This is a great wee place to grab pub grub type of food. Service is really friendly and the location is great to campsites along the road which is how we found the place. Dogs are very welcome and can sit with you while you eat in the pet area which is separate from the other restaurant seated area. This is a real bonus for pet lovers. The outside area at the front or back of the hotel is a nice place to sit and have a drink too during the day. A friendly and very nice place to go. Prices are reasonable and we always enjoy our visits here when up in Portrush camping.

While the inside area is very delightful and inviting, the gem is being able to sit on the outside patio, if the weather is cooperating, of course! I visited the Inn on the Coast on Saturday with a friend and out two dogs. The hotel is in a great location for dog walks. We walked into the Portrush harbor and back and it was a beautiful walk by the promenade. The rooms in the hotel are very spacious, we were in the back of the hotel which was ideal with having the dogs as its beside the entrance and handy for nipping in and out. My only judgement is that there was only one radiator in this huge room and so it wasn't the warmest. The staff and food in the dog friendly bar was excellent and I would like to mention Fiona who was an absolute Gem and a credit to the hotel. We will definitely be back again. After we finally got to see the Giant's Causeway, we returned to our hotel for a late (for us) dinner. We weren't very hungry so Hubby ordered nachos and I got the Caesar salad. The nachos were different than what we get in the US, but still good. Not as spicy, but ingredients were fresh. The Caesar, unfortunately, was saturated with dressing. It was tough to eat. I ate what I could. I was in a good mood because it was my birthday and I enlisted the help of our server, Niall, to suggest a dessert to celebrate. We decided on a sticky toffee pudding (my first) with both cream and ice cream. It was delicious and I can't wait to try another one. Niall was instrumental in making the birthday meal a success. His performance raised the rating one star.

Called into Inn on the Coast for a meal at the weekend. First impressions it was ok needed a bit of an update in decor table needed a good clean. Our order was taken but found it a bit strange to be asked what side order with the beer battered fish assumed it would be chips my husband ordered the southern fried chicken burger and chips. The food came even after two tables which came in after us had got their food. It was just ok not much taste from the fish and the excuse for garnish would have been better left in the bin. My husband got the burger which was overcooked. When the bill arrived we noticed the chips were charged as extra so the fish with a few mashed peas was £11 and the burger was £12.50 a bit excessive when we added on £5.50 for the side orders. Won't be in a hurry back. Staff were very nice.

I'm writing this from the point of view of a dog owner.Other places will allow dogs, or welcome them. The Inn on the Coast positively encourages them. The hotel has been divided up in such a way that there are specific rooms for folk with dogs, and a separate bar/restaurant where dogs are welcomed. The rooms are as well appointed and presented as those reserved for non-dog owners. The two bars serve the same menu, are similarly set up, and adjoin one another. There is no sense here that dog owners are second class citizens. Staff on reception, in the bar, and at breakfast were charming, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and evening meals were delicious. Room was comfy and cosy. Really couldn't find fault with anything. We loved it and it's No.1 on our list of places to revisit.

I had sausage and mash, best I've had and wife had tempura cod and chips, also beautiful.. staff were very attentive and helpful, our first time here but not the last for sure..

Stayed here with my partner for a nights break. Bar and restaurant onsite so we didnt have to venture out in the bad weather. Room was very spacious, warm and clean. Food was delicious and service was second to none, both within the restaurant and at reception. We had a full breakfast included for a smashing price which again included great food and great service. We will definitely be back!

Don't be fooled by the grey exterior to the building - inside it is warm and welcoming with good sized rooms, pleasant staff and a brilliant breakfast. Really good value too. Some traffic noise from the road outside is the only real negative.

We arrived at the Inn somewhat late in the evening and were relieved to find that the pub was still open. We had a delicious meal with great service!

The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. We used the back restaurant as we had our dog with us and she was allowed into this area. The restaurant was very comfortable and the staff were very pleasant, helpful and nice to the dog, bringing her a bowl of water.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean and tidy. Mattress (room 207) would benefit from "refreshing" as would the pillows. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Nice meals in the bar. Plenty of things to see and do around the area.

Called in to the Inn on the Coast for tea and saw their new menu for the first time and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see that the chefs pasta dish was on it I used to order it all the time on a previous menu and was disappointed to see it taken off Anyway it's now with tagliatelle instead of penne pasta but still as delicious The sweet chilli sauce is gorgeous My husband had the rump steak and it was cooked to perfection All this and lovely friendly staff as well Great

I visited the Inn with my mother and at our arrival the receptionist was very friendly and got a porter to bring our luggage to the room. The room was very spacious, actually surprisingly big and facilities were good too. The room was clean and breakfast were also amazing. All staffs were very pleasant and smiled a lot, which now days is not always seen in hotels. The location is absolutely amazing, I could see the coast from the room. The Inn is also a pet friendly hotel so I will be back as I do have pets.

We booked the hotel as we were following the northern coastal rout of Northern Ireland. Check in was quick our allocated twin room was on the first floor with views out to sea. The room was large clean and tidy, however the decor was tired. The en-suite was a similar state and unfortunately had mould down the corner of the shower and along the bath. The mould was reported to reception who informed us that all en-suites where due a deep clean in October. We ate in the restaurant which had a varied menu to suite most tastes. Restaurant staff were friendly, service was a little slow. Bar prices seemed a little high for this type of establishment. Breakfast was held in a smallish room. We ordered a cooked breakfast when it arrived the portions were of a reasonable size.

Just back from a two night stay at Inn on the Coast. If you're looking for fairies to feed you grapes in the morning or pixies to rub your belly with almond oil that it ain't. It's a decent tidy inn with a few gripes here and there. The rooms - at least the one we stayed in 106 - are big plus clean with the usual mod cons. The telly is a teeny little thing that is not compatible with the size of the room though, to be fair if you're going to Portrush to watch telly you seriously need to get out more. Another annoyance was the soap dispenser in the bathroom. It's not 'shweng fui' or some such. It's one of those pump thingys at about head height riveted to the wall. Dispensing soap is a bit of a herculean task which it really ought not to be. One ought to be standing in the shower trying to dispense soap to really appreciate the origins of this particular gripe. The soap in the handwash dispenser - much as I'm convinced it's probably good for you having been hand prepared by elves and fairies with juniper, potpourri, Martian oils etc etc etc - just doesn't look lush. It just looks like some grimy greenish/brownish stuff. Yup. Stuff.Else....we dined there on our first night. Good well made steaks plus decent portions. Fairly priced. Decent friendly staff. The breakfast was decent as well though we both thought there was an odd taste to the soda bread yesterday. Probably a one off as all else was decent.Overall...a decent inn. Don't go there expecting grapes fairies oil etc
