Busiest tesco I have ever seen, very overcrowded, strange layout and weird carpark.

Easy parking and large space. The staff is lovely.

Never been in a more rude Tesco. Staff have no space awareness, I have been hit with trolleys, pushed out of the way on multiple occasions. On a most recent visit, early in the morning when staff were packing online orders I was waiting patiently for a lady to grab an item from the rice section. Once she moved I went to grab a bag and was blocked in by another member of staff with a packing trolley. I turned, had to squeeze through a small gap, as I walked away they mumbled “I don’t know what you are getting so angry about”. When I turned to him , he quickly went red and tried to call over another staff member to cover what he just said. I then went to multiple different isles and the guy followed me going out of his way to cut me up with his trolley. I tried to get the name of the employee but he covered his name tag, bold man about 6ft 2. Every time I have to entire this shop it brings me anxiety as to what interaction I might receive from staff. It always seems that I am an inconvenience to them and I shouldn’t be there. This is a common opinion of this store as many who I have spoken to have also been pushed out the way with trolleys.

Food was really good vegan breakfast were enjoyable ,kids macaroni with hidden veg scoffed .Guy serving full if enthusiasm...

Huge supermarket, lots available - we found most things we needed, only a few items unavailable (suspect due to driver shortage). Clean and bright, we went during a quiet Monday evening but majority of the self-service tills were available.

There was the breaking bad movie which I have BEEN searching for years to come until today also good doner really good

The staff are great,very helpful, and kind, sadly the shelves are not as full as normal,the cafe doesn't seem to have enough staff , whether this is because of staff shortage or illness ?ones not sure Tesco management isn't on the ball

Was busyish but got everything I wanted including the kfc crisps I wanted but everyone had given up on social distancing or any kind of politeness a child whose parents were ignoring her kept leaning on the scales while I was trying to buy my stuff and they ignored me when I politely asked if they could stop her from doing it but even after they left the machine kept malfunctioning which was annoying. I also saw two different kind of cooler box type things but when I asked what they did nobody seemed to know exactly how they worked which was disappointing considering there own brand is £60 and the coke version £95 you would think someone would know what they are photos below not exactly impressed

Its a tescos with a bit extra. Supermarket with slightly more selection, so the same as most other tescos

was the only person at self serve checkouts doing my thing next thing i know im been handed my card by a member of staff. A polite your card is there would of done no need to touch it with your grubby hands!! If the machines were faster to process i could of taken my card before putting my shopping in a bag. No hand gel on way out to even clean or wash my card 2 meter rule is non existent in store.

Was asked by a member off staff why I wasn't wearing a mask even though my exemption lanyard was visible 😠

Kudos to a Pharmacy member of staff, Lisa who knowing my circumstances actively searched for me within the store to set up a date and time for a flu vaccine.Extremely pleasing given these times. Colin Seggie

Just back from worst shop in Tesco. 2 members of staff singing at the top of their voices in the wine aisle and swearing. At first I thought they were drunk customers. They may have been wearing masks but even so that did not seem appropriate or safe. Shopping is stressful as it it is without this behaviour from staff.

My favourite tesco store - lots of products, easy to find and quick to get in and out. The delivery service was fast, efficient and seamless (despite everything going on). 100% recommend.

The fresh fruit selection today was really bad but the oranges were between rock hard old dry skin to mouldy and slimy .. this is no exaggeration I complained to two separate people about this who were new but did say they would let the manager know Also the bread buns I bought today we have just had and are dry and stale .. if we are prepared To pay extra to shop in Tesco at least the produce should be fresh ..

Cafe.... what a joke. No cold drinks for children. Staff unaware of dietary requirements at till. Manageress very rude and clearly not capable of coping with busy day. Tables not cleared. Floor covered in food and filth. Toilets also unsanitary. Blood all over one toilet seat. (Not noticed until after I had ordered) Ridiculous wait on food. Not even that busy. There are spare tables. All depends on the quality of the food now whether I give theme the benefit of the doubt for another visit.

Really community minded store, especially the team on the fruit and veg section who are excellent and very helpful.

Friendly and helpful staff. Feels more personal than other supermarkets too, they must have good memories to remember customers names.

I enjoy going for a tea or a coffee to the cafe whilst my family shop (good varied selection). The cafe is very well laid out, nice friendly, attentive staff who are well organised and seem to run a tight ship indeed, always very clean -staff are constantly out clearing tables, you will often see the cleaner lady going round with her broom and shovel sweeping the floor. The cafe also has an excellent wifi signal, unlike other places you can sit anywhere you want and still get a signal. Easily 5 stars from me!!!

Pharmacy staff are superb, very helpful and knowledgeable, used self service check out on this occasion so cannot comment on any other department.

Prices on the shelves are not correct, when you get to the till you are charged more. We saw an offer of Dates and Nuts, two for £5.00, purchased two and the next day when checking my till receipt I have been overcharged, they charged £5.00 for the nuts and £3.00 for the dates. When I rang Tesco store I was told that the labels had all disappeared off the shelves so the could not confirm this offer. Very convenient, if you have bought nuts and dates etc expecting them to be on this offer, check your receipt. It is not good at this store, another customer was struggling to find a price on the chocolate isle, a pile of chocolates on display, but no price. They would sell more if they could be bothered to price goods correctly. Very disappointing service.

This is one of our local supermarkets,the cafe was terrible,tables left uncleaned,food though basic was unedable. Even the coffee was not good.My wife did complain to a manger and we received a full refund. This is not the staffs issue it is that they were very understaffed and no one seemed to be in control.People were having to wait 30 mins for basic hot,or not so hot food. Tesco we were very disappointed in the dirty cafe! We won't return!

Store has a good range of produce, and staff were friendly and helpful. The car park and conveyer belt entrance were awful to navigate however.

Lots of stock but not a lot of choice . I used to do all my shop at Tesco's but now it's split between Tesco and 2 other supermarkets .

Rude and intimidating store manager. Accusing mindful, good folk of "improper shopping". Very unprofessional and with suffering with anxiety made my first good day very uncomfortable. Will never set foot nor refer any friends or family to shop at that store.

Quieter on a Sunday. Lots of vacant parking spaces. Friendly staff. Large selection of vegetarian foods. Alot cheaper than the Co-op!

Shopped in tesco all over the country for years but Galashiels is by far, the, worst for every reason. Very poor customer care. The mobile phone manager is arrogant and ignorant. Your own security ie, John is a joke all he does, is, intimidate and make you just want to put back your shopping and go to Asda which most people do now .very poor. Stuff are not interested shopping is not an ce experience in Tesco. Go else where.

I have shopped in Tesco for many years and I always find the staff extremely helpful. Last week I left, some photos that I had printed off at the Galashiels store, in the shopping trolley in the car park. I did not realise this until I got home. I phoned the store and spoke with Duncan who very kindly told me that my photos had been handed in by a member of staff and he would keep them for me until the next time I was in the store. I collected them today and I am very grateful to your wonderful staff.

Would have been a perfectly fine shopping experience were it not for the 'security guard' come self service assistant who seems to have the attitude that youre about to steal his bags! Rude and unfriendly if not impersonal and unpleasant man!! Twice now the same attitude to customers..myself and others in the queue.Not like Asda!!

Cafe.... waited 10 minutes in queue to be served. Girl on till, apologised for my wait. One boy making coffee serving table and taking order to kitchen. Not clearing tables on return. Placed order and told cashier that tables needed cleared As there was no where to sit. Was told she would be out asap. 20 mins after arrival, girl started clearing empty tables. Boy served table next to me. My table still had last persons meal remains. A minute later a man came to my tabLe to ask if I'd finished. Is English was poor and he didnt understand reply of Its not mine. I called him back to clear table saying was waiting for my food. My order arrived seconds later with a hasty mumbled " sorry". Disappointing experience. Won't return.

Useful store Friendly staff But I thought it was open 24/7 It's not It's closed between midnight and 6am No big deal But 24 hour opening is more clear At least for me Now I'll go to Asda at night As that really is Open 24/7

Got most if what I needed but not happy with bananas and some satsumas. With satsumas within each pack one felt really soft too soft as for bananas speckled green everytime I go for some or brown or broken stalks.

Great store, friendly staff and you can't be the hours. I've had some late night necessities and Tesco was the perfect place to get them taken care of.

The shop is fine, like most other Tesco stores. The delivery service is also very good, with great drivers, can't fault it. :) Unfortunately, I've spent the last 6 days trying to speak to pharmacy on the phone - they don't answer - worse, they don't reply to messages, and then you get put through to general customer service advisers whose best advice is to call back later. Come on guys, if the pharmacy can't answer the phone or reply to messages, assign a customer service adviser who can answer questions, etc (or even an email address). My enquiry was not urgent, thankfully... I'd be really upset if it was. If I was awarding stars just for the pharmacy service it would be 0... The pharmacy service is something that many people rely on, it needs to be fit for purpose. Many people, like me, live miles out of Gala, we can't just 'pop in'. Really simple solution, answer the phone or provide an alternative means of getting in touch, and actually reply to people.

Today,16/06/2015 I Visited Tesco's in Galashiels, just like any normal day, I presented my prescription at the pharmacy and knowing that it would be about 10/15 minutes to be processed I decided to have a bite to eat in the Restaurant.. All well and good,. Stood in line , a queue of three, the previous couple and myself, The "gentleman"(later discovered he was the manager) preparing a previous customers meal was engrossed in his work to pay me any attention, An Elder lady asked me if she could step in front of me just to purchase a drink, to which I readily agreed, The girl operating the Drinks maker and till said she would attend me in a few minutes. Meanwhile The manager delivered the prepared meal meal to the customer and went onto to serve the Elder lady, This caused a congestion at the till and took five minutes. Meanwhile another "gentleman" stepped straight ahead on me in the line , without a word, STILL I said nothing, It was only when the Manager went to serve the second gentleman did I say "Excuse me But I was next to be served", to which the manager said that I was being rude, and muttered something under his breath which I failed to catch. At that point I decided to leave the restaurant, and went to pick up my prescription, But by this time I was fairly seething, so thought I would complain to the store manager, only to be shown back upstairs where I was forced to present my complaint, to the Restaurant Manager and in Public too. Things that disgusted me the most, were the inability for me to complain in private as I requested, the Flat DENIAL by the restaurant manager that he had muttered something under his breath and the complete inability of him to compromise with me. Needless to say TESCO'S restaurants will NEVER receive my custom again.

great store with very friendly staff

Terrible store with terrible staff! Unfortunately the attitude of the store manager (Paul Gallagher) is not much better and he clearly doesn't care about the customers who shop within this store, only the money which they bring! Rubbish offers with rude and arrogant employees who would rather have a laugh with their mates than do any work and help the customers. Only good thing about this store is its splendid location (across the road from a far superior supermarket where the staff actually care) Save yourself the bother of shopping here and take your custom elsewhere! Trust me you will be better off for it
