Delivery was on time but the pizza was cold when it arrived .have been ordering from raja for years but have been disappointed with my last 2 orders unfortunately

Food was good and the young lass that delivers it is always super polite. Only problem I have with it is the last 2 time we ordered from here the poppadoms were badly burnt. I let it slide the 1st time but twice in a row isn't great. They also seemed to have given me twice as many poppadoms. Not sure if this is supposed to count as an apology but I think I'd rather the right amount I asked for cooked the proper way.

Gala Tandoori is not in the liveliest section of High Street but do not pass this by. Exceptional Indian food here. One of their specialties is Balti cooking (NE India, Hindu origin), which we’d never had. The Balti Garlic Masala was fresh and delicious - a wonderfully balanced dish. Very clean restaurant, btw. And friendly, welcoming service. Great break from a string of Scottish/English fare.

First time at this lovely family restaurant. It will not be the last. The food was excellent. All freshly prepared and great variety. The nan bread was sublime. The tarka dahl was also amazing. We were delighted with everything. Dad was cooking and mum was front of house with the teenage kids helping with service. We chatted with them and it was so nice to be in a family restaurant. I asked for a sweet lassi to drink and although it was not on the menu they were happy to make me one and it was excellent. To top it all, it was very reasonable priced. Highly recommended.

Great Istanbulian pizza's and kebabs. Great hardworking staff as well, always a smile on there faces.

The food was excellent. It was a great experience for a family meal. Audrey was such a lovely host and made us feel extremely welcome. We will definitely come back when we’re back in Scotland. Thanks again, highly recommend!!

Food defo not as good as used to be chips wer like reheats

We had relatives down from Aberdeen for the weekend and they were keen to go for a curry. We had picked up a carry out a couple of weeks before which we really enjoyed so we thought we would give it a try as a restaurant . We booked a couple of days before as we were going on a Saturday. Everything was first class - from staff to food. We always find that the portions are too big and there’s too much waste. This time the portions were perfect and the only things returned to the kitchen were empty plates and one poppadom! Excellent visit to a great restaurant. We all agreed it was the best curry we have had for a very long time.

My curry (chicken bhoona was great) good portion size, however the Veg pakora and chips were quite soggy and not crispy, the donner meat was average aswell, will order again but hope they improve on the points I made, otherwise I'd be going elsewhere.

Did not deliver my separate salad and sauce ! Did not call the restaurant as by time they delivered it food would have been cold !

Fantastic food, customer service, ambiance and value for money! Been there a dozen times now and never been let down by the family or staff. Will doubtless be there again in the coming weeks.

Best Indian takeaway we've ever had by far

Chicken was well overcooked and very salty. Naan was super dry. Not sure when this was made but it wasn't fresh.

Lovely staff offering great service. The food was exceptional and we eat curry two to three times every week so we think we are fit to judge. Sauces were excellent, we had Jalfrezi and it was so good we bought two on take away to take home with us. Onion bhajees also excellent. Only down is that the place needs a good paint but that is nothing to do with the staff or the food quality. Only sorry we do not live in Galashiels but we will be back as soon as possible for a day trip and a visit to Gala Tandoori.

Our party of six had a splendid Sunday supper at the Gala Tandoori and it was perfect from start to finish. Our booking was made via their own website a few days ahead of the visit and I received a swift email confirmation followed by a personal phone call too; this was the first example of the professional and excellent customer service provided by the Gala. Good points: The establishment was spotlessly clean and tidy and our hostess Audrey (?) gave us a warm welcome and was prepared for our booked visit. Menus were provided swiftly and we were given time to settle before our order was taken. At no time did we have trouble in getting attention which was always polite and helpful. Throughout the meal Audrey checked that we were happy with our food and drinks. The food and drinks were very reasonably priced and the quality was excellent and thoughtfully cooked and presented. The stand out dish was the Tandoori King Prawns that were huge and perfectly cooked on a bed of soft roasted onions served with a side dish of vegetable curry to provide the moisture. This was good honest regional cooking without trying to be fancy or clever for the sake of it, and truly delivered in providing a delicious Indian banquet. Bad points: None! Thank you Gala Tandoori for providing such a perfect meal which was a "ThankYou" treat for our friends who had had us to stay. We wish we could take you away to be our local London curry house.

Business trip with colleagues although it was our first time visit at this restaurant, had a lovely meal infact all the dishes very absolutely delicious. If you want recommendations about curries please take advice from a lovely lady (Audrey) absolutely amazing person we have ever met. All our dishes were recommended by her. Food absolutely delicious no fault never in my experience. Ordered a chicken kebab and chips. The chicken was very very dry. The chips were the best part of the meal. Happy with the complimentary can of irn bru. Overall not happy with my meal.

Had a couple of recent visits to Gala Tandoori, and both were great. Sizzling platters are excellent, curries really tasty, with breads and rice perfect to match. Staff are great too. Will be back!

Second time here and not disappointed. We travelled for 70 miles and stayed overnight. The Borders of Scotland are amazing and to have found this restaurant is great. Lovely food, good wine at £16 a bottle. Far above our local restaurants.

Wonderful meal, our waitress Lana was very patience with us and knowledgeable about the curry, giving us lots of vegan recommendations. The flavoring of food was superb and portions were very generous.

Raja’s food is always super tasty with vegetables in curries that never taste over- cooked and delicious spices and herbs. Their garlic and peshwari naans are awesome and their curries just delicious. Portion sizes are generous and they almost always deliver just a little earlier than they say. They also do one of the nicest pizzas in the town! Would definitely recommend

Order was late and missing two cans of juice which was supposed to come with order ??

Pizza was very very burned, and the dough was rock hard cause it was so over over cooked, chips were warm but soggy. Worst order I’ve had from raja, so disappointed with it even my dog struggled to chew pizza as she got most of the order! Would have posted a picture but doesn’t allow me to on this. After waiting over an hour and half for the delivery of order was furious opening up the pizza

I have a lot of Indians around my area and I was surprised considering how cheap this is, it’s the tastiest I have had by far! Highly recommend

Good food at reasonable prices

Catered for our family festive party. Every dish was of high quality and hot on delivery. The staff I delt with on arranging delivery were very friendly and professional. Will definately continue to use their services

The pizza did not have the extra mushrooms which we paid for and the amount of chicken was poor to the poor I thought I had only ordered a cheese pizza. I am disappointed as the pizza from Raja are usually great quality

We used to always order from here. Party foods as well when having big get together but over the past few years it seems that things have went down hill. The people are great don’t get me wrong. But it’s sadly not enough to make me want to come back. All our food was either bitter or bland and no one enjoyed what they had. Hope things get better soon.
