Gail’s products are good as always however toilet not working and waiters are reckless and constantly throwing cups and trays making unnecessary loud noises disturbing people having a coffee break and scaring children.

Over priced sandwiches and very small overpriced coffees. Make Staff are rude, unhelpful, they were passing notes to each other and not listening to our order. They refused to warm the sandwiches despite having the facilities to do so and they don’t cater for many allergies. So I left.

Service was slightly delayed, but love their feta & spinach pastry & the cinnamon bun 😍.

Two pastries were over £8 and were dryer than the Sahara desert in July. Honestly go down a few doors down to Greggs and have a better experience with change to spare

Overpriced, tables rarely cleared, intrusive music. Staff brusque and unhelpful.

The focaccia was amazingly fresh and coffee was excellent. Service was surprisingly good-they offer to bring your food to your table, too. Though the place is busy and tends to be noisy, you can opt for the inner seating for more privacy and quiet. Overall it’s a place I would definitely come back to.

They don’t warm up the food but at least the sausage roll should be tasty 🥲 No atmosphere…

What a disappointment. I have visited this branch this morning for the first time . the barista has no idea how to make a coffee! I asked for my usual latter and what I was served was not that ! I am a regular to Gails ( Muswell hill and crouch end branch ) and I know what to expect from their coffees. I have asked the barista nicely to change my coffee as it was too wet and make it properly and he made one which was even worse! I would have returned and get a refund as there is no way I’m paying nearly £4 for Starbucks style coffee but I was in a rush. I also noticed the customer before me returned her coffee too!!

Gail’s in Barnet has the most amazing, positive and friendly team. Almost every day I go there to get my coffee and have a little chat with the staff - it sets me up for a day! Great coffee and food too!

Today, I tried a tuna sandwich and a carrot cake at Gail’s Bakery. Unfortunately, the bread for the sandwich was extremely hard, making it difficult to eat. The carrot cake was dry and lacked the expected moist texture. Overall, a disappointing experience.

The staff were arguing between themselves and cut me off twice while taking an order...very rude. No cooked breakfast items were available at 10.30. Service is poor and the tables are not cleaned regularly. I visited the branch in High Barnet before and was not impressed with the service then, but thought this may have been a one off...not the case.

The food and looks very good (if you like high-carb) and the tea choices are better than most chains. But I won't be back to this branch because of the music. These days it's impossible to get away from it in any public place - honestly, who wants loud disco music at 8.30am?! I think it's often for the entertainment of the staff not the customers - I got disbelieving looks when I asked nicely for it to be turned down.

Why are charging extra for a butter and jam when buying a scone and not even asking if we want one it’s a tradition it should be serve with it and everywhere I go it’s always go together your prices not really on the cheap side either

Cosy place for afternoon tea, great selection of cakes and sandwiches. Raha will make your visit memorable - whenever you need someone to talk to - she is there for you 🤩

I usually go to a bakery closer to my house, but I was in Barnet and dropped in. Ended up chatting with Katalina who was charming and I ended up getting enough to stock the freezer. The baguettes are particularly good, but everything I have tried so far has been great.

I love Gails. I have been here many times. Staffs are lovely specially Raha who always smile and she is so friendly. Love the coffee so much.

My favourite Cafe in Barnet. The cinnamon buns are the best. Staffs always friendly and kind and always doing their best. The lady with a red lipstick I think her name is Roha is very polite and helpful. And she always knows my order 🙂🙂

Our whole family’s favourite place in High Barnet. The food and coffee is always on point, the staff (especially Raha) are wonderful, and in the summer there is aircon…..! Don’t hesitate.

Our regular spot for coffee and pastries, and pre nursery dates with my 2 year old. Wonderful and consistent!

I enjoy going to Gail's because it's so cozy. It's a great place to get a coffee and a snack, or even more of a meal if you're hungry. The staff are always friendly and the food and drinks are delicious.

Extremely disappointing and really concerning experience. Although the place wasn't busy, all the empty tables were dirty and some had empty plates, etc. on for the entire time we were there. The staff was inattentive and got all our orders wrong. Most shocking was when one of the members of staff took a cake off my plate, having given me the wrong one, and put it back on the shelf to be sold to another customer. This was after I had already eaten from that plate!! It was already weird that she decided to put both my orders (one savoury and one sweet) on the same plate, but I was truly shocked to witness that level of disrespect and lack of hygiene - why put back a cake that was on a plate someone ate from? I can't recommend this place and unfortunately I'd warn anyone to stay away as there is a clear lack of hygiene at this Gail's branch. Today's experience left me wholly disappointed with Gail's.

Have been coming here for a few months and the team is always bright and willing to go the extra mile. Super clean and comfortable. Great relaxed vibe!

Unique interior combined with more than wonderful customer service from a smiling and very professional staff, fresh and very tasty food and no less tempting desserts. The best coffee in Barnet served with a smile and attention.

They used to have oatly barista for the oat milk, but not anymore. Which is a shame I was just going there for the barista that they use 😅

What a lovely young lady in a full covering garb that served us! Both staff on Sunday evening were prompt and courteous with their service. The rolls were delicious, as were the drinks. I look forward to visiting again.

Terrible service, went to get some coffee and pastry but was told that they won't give me a plate to have the pastry on because they will be closing in 20 minutes and don't want to be washing up anymore? Threw the pastry into a paper bag and flung it at me, which I politely returned. We then continued to have our coffee and there were several other customers in the shop but were asked to leave before we could finish our coffees. Felt like they were more keen on closing the store than looking after their customers. Wont be returning.

Lovely reverse chocolate chunk cookie

Its ok food. I paid £10-11 just for a focaccia sandwich and regular cappuccino. Wasn't worth the money to be honest. Focaccia too oily. And the barista hygiene was questionable. She coughed in her hand and then made my coffee. Didn't even wash her hands afterwards.

Disappointed to find that when you eat in your quiche can’t be heated up! Paid extra to eat in (already very expensive for what it is) and then given a cold quiche. Won’t be returning.

I had my first coffee from Gail’s today and it will be my last … I can’t understand all the hype about this coffee shop. The coffee was like hot milk and overpriced absolutely tasteless, you get a stronger cup for half less than half the price in Greggs and they only have to press a button. I was so disappointed.

Been meaning to write a review for a while to highlight Eva. She always has a smile on her face, is so helpful and a pleasure to see. She really goes the extra mile to get to know you and your family and genuinely cares. Thanks for brightening my day!

I frequent many Gail’s spots throughout London on a regular basis and I am always blown away by the manager and the team in Barnet. They go above and beyond to make sure I always receive a first class experience when visiting the store. They know me by my first name and it always feels like home when I come in and order my oat flat white. The best Gail’s in London! Thank you team

Gail’s in High Barnet is an absolute gem. The customer service is exceptional - Sadia’s attention to detail, friendliness and warmth make it an absolute joy. She always goes the extra mile, and her coffee is delicious. Brilliant to have found my perfect morning spot!

Since the day Gail’s opened in High Barnet, we are regular customers. We love our coffee and the warm welcome of all the staff, especially Eva, she always welcome us, ask us how we are and makes the best coffee for us! We also love the food, our favourites are the cheese straws, the pain au raisin and the pistachio rose cake.

We visit Gail's bakery in Barnet, and every time we go there, we have a good experience. Food is well presented , and the drinks are made with love . Members of staff are lovely and professional. The environment feels spacious but yet cosy. I will definitely be visiting soon again. ☺️

GAIL's architecture is always very beautiful and simple. The coffee is also relaxing.

Popped in for a quick bite but sadly disappointed the tea was not very good quality the colour and taste was like a supermarket cheap economy tea very watery the spinach and feta sausage roll was dry tasteless and stale sorry Gail's but £8 for a small sausage roll and horrible poor quality tea is not a good first impression think will go Greggs next time

I enjoy having a cup of coffee here. I really like the food and coffee. Also, you must try the pistachio rose cake, it's just perfect. Although its more expensive than other popular coffee chains in London, the taste and the quality reflects that. The facilities (restroom, seating areas etc) are cleaner than most other places. Only thing I would criticize is that they don't warm the savory food. I would prefer to have my food warmed before I eat as I already pay for it a good amount.

My cinnamon bun was to die for. My friend had an almond croissant, never tasted anything like that before. Both things were filling and delicious.

A member of the staff made me feel like a villain when simply asked about contents of the product. Some customers, due to allergies / GI diet, etc may require information on the ingredients if the name of the product isn't elaborating. Shame as the shop has a lovely cozy feel on its look. Would suggest re-training on customer service to improve.

Very, very expensive. Service is great. Seating area indoors like outdoor is less than ideal. It's just another high priced fancy coffee chain in London.

The counter items should be covered . I went today to have coffee and a salmon roll. Unfortunately I had to turn myself around and leave the shop because 3 bluebottles were happily having a great time flying from one roll to another . This is not the first time I’ve seen this in Gail’s bakeries . Please get covers for the open counters . Sorry but I’ve been put off for life now . In my opinion that’s a health hazard .

I'm regular at this wonderful place, always welcome by the helpful staff, mustn't forget Eva, who's so adorable and professional. Coffee is superb, the bread mulitseed is the winner of all sourdough I've tried. Soup of the day, I've tried 2 and the kale and parmesan is simply delicious. My always favourite is the almond crossaint and my son loves the cheese string and the home made granola Greek yoghurt with blueberries. Spinach and ricotta pastry is also amazing along with other treats. Recently tried the salad bowls in the fridge, the broccoli one with black rice very yummy 😋. Just can't stay away from this place...🫣

Worst service I’ve ever received from all Gail’s stores I’ve been so far from red hair lady and the other blonde hair/glasses lady, very rude customer service

Eva in the High Barnet branch always gives me a warm welcome as I am almost a daily customer. She also always remembers exactly how I like my coffee. All the staff are pleasant as well and the standard of food and coffee is excellent. My only criticism is that after only a short while this branch being my local branch stopped doing the broccoli cheese slice which was the best ever. I hope it will be re introduced.

Popped in very late in the day to get a seeded sourdough loaf (our favourite) and was given a challah for free. Goodness me - what a lovely loaf - this will definitely be a repeat purchase! Thank you 😊

Quality food and good coffee served by professional and friendly staff.

Had a sausage roll from here. It used to be good but today it was awful. Tasteless and was dry like eating a piece of overcooked pork mince rather than sausage meat. Awful..,

Do enjoy it in here. Don't use to often but when up top if town. Nice smooth coffee unlike a few of the competitors.

Have visited a number of times for morning snack of coffee, cheese and chive scone (yummy) and chocolate tahini cake. Worth visiting. Have not tried any other foods though.

A fabulous place for eat-in or takeaway. It's often busy, but it's worth joining the queue as the food and drink taste fabulous. Our favourite has to be the cinnamon buns.

Another branch of Gail's to recommend. As the shops are all very different inside, this one is very light with a particularly high ceiling as it was a bank before. Not at all dark or rustic like some of the shops. The standard is the same although I was left waiting for ages while the young male server served some porridge for a diner. The only other person, a woman then came out to the counter and proceded to serve a man who had just walked in with his young daughter. I let it go as I was in no real hurry. I expect the cakes and pastries are made to what the customers ask for as there seemed to be less on display than I've seen in other shops but it may have been an illusion. Overall, very nice.

So happy Gail's has come to Barnet. Best breads, best croissants, great cakes, muesli and salads, and if you have time you can eat in. Not to be missed

I really loved how friendly and welcoming the staff were, very smiley and always ready to give a recommendation. They also knew about the surrounding area which was helpful as I was lost. The food was delicious and the latte I had was made to perfection (I’m picky about my coffee, sorry). Will definitely return!!!

Not very relaxing if you come with a baby or child and sit in the back. They do not bring your drink to you so you have to either abandon your child while you come back to the front to get your drink or wheel them back and forth in a Pram while trying to carry your hot drink back. Surely staff can just bring your drink to you if you’re there with a baby or child and have to sit at the back if the front is full? Rather visit a cafe elsewhere so I can actually sit and relax and not fret about having to leave my baby alone in a high chair which is dangerous to do. Why is it self serve here? Every other coffee shop or cafe will bring your drink to you if you’re dining in.

Oh wow, now I said we didn't need another eaterie in Barnet and it's sad to see the bank go BUT times change and we all have to move on and this place is really relaxed, beautiful food, beautiful cakes, pastries, coffee. Not a lot of tables which is a shame. But overall really nice. But my indulgence was a whole cake which cost an extortionate £14 😳 way too much.
