Tonight I visited family in ipswich and we decided to get a Chinese takeaway delivered. Fusion oriental is meant to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area and we placed an advance delivery order at 1730 for delivery at 1945. No one turned up by 2000 so we called to see where the order was. We were told there had been an issue with the delivery and we’re told it would be another 30 minutes. The order never turned up until 2040 and then a number of items were missed off the order, the food was cold and soggy and two in the group required gluten free and only one gluten free dish was delivered. It was a very disappointing experience one we will not repeat in the future. There are 20+ Chinese restaurants in the area and next time we will not use fusion again. Food was late, order incomplete and food was cold and soggy. Never again 😔

Had high hopes of this place but...... The green Thai curry was very wet, white, lacking flavour and spice. Couldn't detect any hint of coconut! The King Prawn curry seemed to be made from a jar of curry sauce you'd put on your chips with a few veg and prawns thrown in. I won't go back here. I can make both much better myself blindfolded.

We normally drive elsewhere but it was late and as they are only 200 yards away, wish we hadn’t bothered. Ordered a weekday special, what a waste of time, it’s gone up in price but now no longer comes with chicken balls or prawn toast, the chicken in black bean sauce was watery, definitely will not return.

Always use delivery service due to covid but food always delicious and hot when delivered. Time of delivery before rather than late.

I ordered via Just Eat and reordered a previous order. The order aarived 50 min late and was stone cold. I the saw that the order was wrong. I rang Fusion who told me it was NOT THEIR PROBLEM. I then contacted Just Eat who advised me that in order to help I needed to call Fusion and ask them to mark delivery as delivered. I did, they recognised my voice and refused to mark it delivered as they knew I was complaining. He was so rude it left me in tears and my children hungry with food that was cold, dry and wrong and when I reheated tasteless and watery. Awful waste of £27 and what was meant to be a back to school treat! Awful food and even worse customer service-I could hear them laughing and talking about me with their staff!

Ordered from here as everywhere else was closed/not taking orders. NEVER AGAIN! Fried rice burnt and stuck together. Crispy lamb fatty and chewy NOT crispy! Awful chinese and funny enough didn't see a chinese person cooking all english! Next time will order Pizza if my usual chinese is closed! Give this chinese a miss.

This was only the 2nd time we have used Fusion on good recommendation. The 1st time great, 2nd time terrible. We waited an hour and called to be told our order would be here in 5 mins. 25 minutes later I called back and cancelled the order and just as I hung up my food turned up. Although it was kind of hot and we were hungry I accepted the order. It had obviously been in the gag for a while as the paper bag was soaking wet and the food was soggy. Looks like we may go elsewhere in future

Myself and my partner noticed their was no oriental staff at all, and that should of rang alarm bells, this was the most disgusting take away we have ever had, on opening the cartons for our house special chow mien, it could only be described as sheep guts and it didn’t taste any better, was very greasy and had far too much water content as if it was pre frozen and microwaved. But would recommend with 5 stars if you need a good clear out as we spent most of the next day on the toilet 💩💩

Ordered a Chinese, the food was on time, very nice, polite driver, definitely using Fusion again, highlighy recommend Fusion to everyone

Usually I couldn’t fault fusion but decided to try the delivery option this time. Won’t bother in the future. Said the food would be with us in 45mibs. After an hour and 10mins no sign, so we phoned who said it would be there in 10mins. Eventually turned up 1hr 40mins after order. Fully expect would have gotten our food in a reasonable time if we had collected. Food however looked and tasted fantastic!

Use Fusion on a fairly regular basis. Always quality food and very generous portions given. Would recommend to anyone who loves Chinese food. Very good service either pick up or delivery.

Ordered Thai dishes as limited choice for Thai takeaway in this area. Sauces were so gloopy and tasteless, worst Thai ever experienced and disgusting to sell it as that. Certainly won't be sampling anything else from here

We phoned the day before to order our Chinese as we had a big order for a party. Despite this we did haven a short wait when we picked it up but otherwise another tasty Chinese from fusion!!

Ordered a Chinese and very disappointed. The last three we have ordered have been very poor with the last one the worst. Soggy cold and flavourless. Also very very greasy. Been a customer here for a few years hence we gave it a couple of chances but done with it now, such a shame as it used to be very good.

Although I have lived locally for a number of years I have never used Fusion before.On the recommendation of a friend I popped in last night at opening time.My mother had beef teriyaki and I had sweet and sour prawn balls,we shared a special fried rice and pancake rolls.Thhe staff were friendly and it was nice to see the chefs working in a large open plan kitchen.The food was cooked very quickly.My mum really enjoyed her meal as did I,the portions were very generous and of a very good standard.I will definitely be going back.

Had a really good takeaway- it was really busy but the food was prepared quickly and was very good . The chow mein wasn't greasy and it didn't make you thirsty!! Generous portion of duck with plenty of pancakes . Overall very good

Love the food from fusion. Such an amazing choice on the menu. Ordered the food to be delivered. Arrived when they said it would. Food looked and tasted fantastic!!! Will def use again!!!

The food arrived exactly on time perfect. The food was warm which was bad considering we live 3 minutes down the road. When we heated the food up it was very tasty.

Having just moved to the east side of Ipswich I needed to find somewhere local to replace my usual go-to town centre Chinese. There's a few over this side of town that have been mentioned but no one has wholeheartedly recommended one. Apparently they're all "ok but nothing special" and going from this experience I can understand why. Included in our order were 2 noodle dishes which were so bland and tasteless that even the resident noodle aficionado in our house couldn't finish a portion. The curry didn't have much of a kick and the prawn crackers were greasy. All in all not a great first impression though I doubt I'll give it a chance to make a second one. At the moment the long journey to my previous Chinese eatery will be all the more bearable knowing that the result will be better than this.

firstly I should mention how fast the food arrived. 20 minutes after ordering it was at my door, that could maybe make me question the freshness of the food.

Once again had a Chinese from here. Tasted great, got everything we ordered and was reasonably priced too. Would recommend!!

Not only was our order late, despite phoning 2 hrs prior to wanting it, it was bland, pasty looking and very un-appetising . Tom yum soup was watery, Thai green chicken curry was extremely bland and pasty looking and noodles were not tasty. The only nice thing was the special fried rice. When phoning to complain I was offered a 20% discount on next order ! I will not be ordering from here again. Very disappointing to say the least.

Noodles were so over cooked or poor quality. So soft. Nasty. Odd flavour too, bit like bisto. Fried stuff had horrid aftertaste. Think the oil needed changing. Cheap, but nasty. Avoid.

Ordered a takeaway from here. Always go here for our Chinese. Food is fantastic, tastes amazing!!! Would highly recommend!

Out of all the local Chinese takeaway this is by far the best. The food is fresh and always tasty. I admit their delivery service normally takes around 40 minutes. But I have found driving and waiting is much faster. This place is always busy, and if you go wait for the order you hear the phone non stop which is why delivers take so long. Duck in black bean and the Kung Po are especially tasty. If you plan ahead and want a delivery allow around 40 minutes. But well worth a try!

I have used Fusion for several years and usually order about 5 or 6 times a year. I've never had a problem ordering food, the orders have always been delivered on time and the food has always been excellent. My recent home delivery order on 4th April was for Shanghai Chicken, Thai Curry and a seaweed starter. As always, the meal was excellent.

The food is fine but they keep getting telephone orders wrong. A liturgy of errors, had to re order 3 times tonight. Felt sorry for the delivery guy, not his fault. Such a shame but if you get telephone orders wrong when you are a takeaway you are in trouble.

Just ordered a takeaway tonight at 7.25 and it has still not been delivered and it's now 9.20!What's going on? The food from Fusion is always really good but not sure what is happening re delivery. Has it just changed hands or have they just got different people on the phone with really bad attitudes. Have just phoned to say I want to cancel my order and the guy who answered the phone couldn't have cared less. Shame on you fusion. You have just lost another loyal customer

Unfortunately our recent experience of Fusion has meant they have now lost a customer in us. The service has been going downhill for a while in terms of sulky rude teenagers taking your order on the phone, but recently we waited TWO HOURS for a takeaway to be delivered, only to then be given the completely wrong order! I am a vegetarian and everything was meat.. Rang and told Fusion this, no apology at all, just offered a 20% discount on next order. I said this was not good enough as basically there is nothing in this takeaway we can eat and eventually got a refund. However no apology... We will never use fusion again.

I've sat and read the reviews for this place and I'm a little confused. Last night we had our sixth delivery in the last year. And despite all that's been written my food was exactly what I had ordered plus It was hot and fresh. Don't get me wrong, this takeaway is no Trongs. But then it doesn't carry the Trongs price tag! So in short my order was accurate fresh and delivered within the 45 minutes like they said. We had Kung Po Chicken which was spicy and fresh lots of chicken. Sweet and sour king prawns- cleaned and cooked with chunks of pineapple for that sweet kick Crispy Duck is always tasty. You can get crispy lamb if you prefer. Wish they would shred it tho. If you want perfection go to Trongs or some high class Chinese restaurant. If you want s reasonably priced takeaway try this place.

Over cooked shredded beef tasted so bad most of it couldn't be eaten. Chow mien tasteless and dry. Rice over cooked. Will not recommend to anybody.

We have used this takeaway regularly but lately have had problems with the accuracy of orders. For the third time running we have had, either a missing dish or incorrect dish. By the time we have checked the contents of the delivery (and realised its wrong) the driver had left, we then make a call and have to wait 20-30 minutes for the remainder of our order to be delivered... Which means that one person is missing their main..... Fusion really need to sort this out; it's not a one off, this is happening more and more, to the point where we simply won't use them again. Also the amount of MSG used is ridiculous, raging thirst invariably follows ... I'm off to bed now with my gallon of water.

Ordered take away for four people as previously found the food really tasty. The crispy duck was burned and the rest of the meal was just very badly cooked, never went there again.

This place used to be a gem. Their weekday specials were tasty and unbeatable value. However, our family feels the quality has gone down... There seems less care in the preparation of the food, and everything is either over crispy, over greasy, or over sweetened. Twice we have thrown away the menu, then after a few months decided to give it another try.... On the most recent occasion, we have vowed to never visit again. Talking to colleagues at work, they hold a similar opinon, and interestingly have also started to use the same Chinese takeaway as us - Mandarin on Heath road roundabout. Also "ready in ten minutes" was at least 25 mins on the occasion (collection).
