This restaurant just gets better and better, the food is outstanding as are the staff as well. There are choices of Bangladesh and Goan food plus all the old favourites. Recommend this restaurant 100% Terry and Jackie

Walked in hoping for a table. We were met by a very friendly waiter (Abdul). We decided to be adventurous and try something new, after discussing our usual curry habits we left it in the hands of Abdul to surprise us. Not sure what either of the dishes were.. one had dried beans & the other had green beans! Absolutely delicious food & I would definitely eat them both again! Lovely friendly restaurant. Look forward to going back again.

We booked late and were fitted in even though we only ate at 7pm! The menu is intriguing, mix and match of sauces with various meta etc. the food was a little slow but it was all home cooked, so fresh idcfiirc

Tuesday night and I was by myself as working away from home. I tried 2 of my favourite dishes, prawn puri followed by chicken jalfrezi. I enjoyed both of them.

I ordered a takeaway for 16 people on Saturday evening. We'd had an extremely busy day running the Teas at our village fete and wanted a relaxing evening with food and drink. I'd emailed the restaurant a few days before for advice on menu choices and always received a prompt reply. The food was almost ready when I arrived for collection and the staff were extremely polite and helped me carry the food to my car. It was still hot when I got home and my guests thoroughly enjoyed it; one even said it was the best she'd tasted in years! I can thoroughly recommend The Royal Bengal and thank the hardworking team.

The most delicious and authentic Bengali and Goan food, friendly and knowledgeable staff providing a great service. We usually go for the recommendations and are never disappointed.

Dinner was fine, however, I bit into a small bulldog clip that was in my sag aloo. The restaurant did apologise but took advantage of the fact that I didn't make a massive fuss about it. They took away my sag aloo and nan bread (I had put the bulldog clip on the plate with my nan). All they did when it came to the bill was remove the cost of the sag aloo. In my mind they should've removed the cost of either one or two of the four meals.

Oh my God it has to be one of the nicest Indian meals I have ever experienced. We started with the poppadoms and they were so fresh n crispy accompanied by the four dips and of course the obligatory bottle of red wine. I loved that they gave us a nice break until our main course. I have the Spicy Tikka mix including chicken prawns lamb and beef kebab. It was absolutely delicious. I had the fluffy pilau rice and bombay aloo. I can't wait to return. Pity they don't have a restaurant in Ireland.

Honestly, and I’m fussy, one of the best curries I’ve ever had. If you think that’s a cliché it’s your loss. Better than any Lindon curry by a long way. Really friendly staff too. Well done guys.

I relocated to Woodbridge from America and I Love the food here. Have never had a bad experience and it's the best Indian food I have had in years. It's cooked well, kept at a good temperature and the staff are beyong helpful and friendly. My 4 year old loves to come and pick up our orders from here because they always give him attention, compliment his outfit/hair/shoes and always offer him a small treat. Highly recommend a try if you havent. the tikka is on point, the naan is perfect and the prices are reasonable for the the sizes of the portions. I will keep coming here whenever I can!

A wide range of Bengal and Goan dishes as well as the usual curry dishes, but the food is brilliant - best curry we've had for years. Perfectly cooked chicken breast pieces (none of the dubious off-white/grey 'chicken' some curry-houses dish up). We will definately be back and would recommend.

Went at a busy time. Food was ok although not amazing. Two poppadoms cost over a fiver as they add £3,25 just for the chutney dips. Mango lassi tasted ok but was served in a tiny beaker with a huge straw (bit weird and very mean for nearly £4). Asked for an onion salad and got a small green salad with peas and no onion. All a bit underwhelming.

My wife and I visited here on a Thursday evening & were pleased to find it bustling with atmosphere & still providing a great spot for a date night. After delaying our mains at our request following our poppadoms we had a chicken Dansak and Makhani. The Dansak is a particular favourite of mine and this may have been the best version of it I have eaten - the sauce was delicious and the chicken on both dishes was cooked perfectly. The Makhani was new to both of us and we agreed that it could become a new favourite. A great balance between a hot and flavorful curry. We accompanied these with vegetable rice, garlic naan & a bhindi masala - all again were beautifully made. One of the best curries we’ve eaten

main dishes could have been better - the lamb cubes were hard in one dish and the chicken tandooris had more onions than was required However the samosas and chat were vg

Wow what a fantastic meal! The staff are super friendly, and very attentive! We had a really good conversation about our tastes and preferences and were recommended dishes we wouldn’t usually try & the dishes were amazing! Really felt they cater to you as individuals and cook accordingly! Definitely recommend, we booked ahead! It was busy with both restaurant orders and customers collecting!

First class Indian restaurant in Woodbridge. So much more than a traditional Indian with really varied and interesting items on the menu. Not cheap but great quality

We order takeaway from this place. Absolutely the best place to get Indian in Woodbridge. Each dish is delicious and there are a variety of different specialities, of which we struggle to choose from each time as they all look really tasty and are always happy with what we previously ordered! I haven't dined in the restaurant, however whenever speaking to the staff on the phone and when delivering, they're extremely pleasant and polite. Went to the Royal Bengal on an impromptu work meal. The decor and setting is nothing to write home about but the food was excellent, good value and the staff very attentive. My only criticism was that the choice of alcohol wasn’t as wide ranging as other restaurants we go to. We will however definitely be going back though - four stars.

Having enjoyed my last visit to this restaurant, I vowed that I would return. So, fast-forward 20-odd years , here I am again for the return visit! To be fair, I moved away from East Anglia not long after my first visit, so I have an excuse for not returning sooner. The food is just as good as I remember it all those years ago, although the prices have increased markedly over the years. I feel that, perhaps, The Royal Bengal no longer represents the value it once did, especially when taking into account the competition in the surrounding areas of Woodbridge. The addition of a 12% service charge and the high price of drinks do not help the cause either. Having said that, good food is worth paying for and that is what is provided at this restaurant. I will happily return here the next time that I am in the area ... l hope that it will not be so long this time until my next visit!

Very tasty, lots of meals I didn’t recognise (very authentic) the waiter explained the different food for regions in India and recommended what spice would suit us was very impressed with the service. They still have the old favourites I usually go for as well madras, chicken masala etc.. but tried something new.

It is a real treat to find an Indian restaurant with real Indian food from other parts of India (Goa). The food was simply stunning and the service was very attentive. Being a Friday, the restaurant was busy and therefore quite noisy, but otherwise a very enjoyable experience. This was our second visit and will no doubt visit again when we're in the area.

We are still dreaming about the food we had at this fantastic place a couple of weeks ago! We live in a large Northern city where excellent and authentic curries are very easy to find however the food we had at the Royal Bengal was up there with the best we have had. The menu is very interesting with the usuals as well as some delicious sounding Goan dishes. As well as excellent food, our waiter Abdul was so friendly and helpful. He really helped make our evening there a great one. This will be on our list for any future trips to this lovely part of the world.

Once again a top-notch meal. A little noisy as it is a little cramped and there was a table of 12 or so in. We enjoyed a first class meal prior to watching a splendid live transmission of Turandot in the nearby Riverside Theatre, easily timed to coincide with the performance. Will definitely do this again.

Cannot speak more highly of this wonderful PROPER Indian restaurant. Always top quality food and service. Every dish is unique, and none of this one base sauce for all dishes here. I just wish it was my local back home in W2. I look at the menu but always end up just telling the waiter what I fancy and I get a great meal, thank you. Keep up the good work we will be back whenever we visit mh parents / sister :0))

Delicious dinner. Had a Goan lamb dish and a side of aubergine goan style. Lamb birianni and goan sides were super tasty too. A couple of steps above the standard Indian restaurant. I just wish we lived locally so we could eat here regularly

We had booked an early reservation at 5pm. We were guided through the dishes from their menu , when our food arrived it looked amazing and tasted amazing, full of bold flavours and fresh spices, probably the best curry we have had in a long time. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Wow, I’ve lived in Suffolk for three years and the food we have just eaten is amazing. Although the restaurant is 12 miles from where I live this is now our number 1 Indian restaurant. Great food and friendly staff.

Very good food and excellent service. Nice atmosphere. The only negative is that the premises are a little cramped, and the decor is a little tired. It could do with a refresh - but the magnificent tigers on the walls make up for it, they are very vibrant and bright. I love them.

Very disappointed! Fish curry had 2 tiny pieces of fish. Tandoori Chicken was full of tiny bones and gristle.

Absolutely amazing Indian cuisine! tried from virtually all the Indian takeaway local to me and traveled far and wide moving from Essex to Suffolk, i can honestly say it’s one of the best tasting i have ever experienced. P.S the wife hates Indian for takeout but she sure didn’t complain either so that’s saying something. :)
