Funky's Bar & Grill in Conwy

Bar service was garbage. Whilst waiting for barrel to be changed I was looking at the menu. When drink was brought over girl sloshed a load over menu I was reading and then over the table , she never said a word or even cleaned up, just looked at us and walked off. The beer itself was flat and nothing like it should of tasted like. Good knows why but we still ordered food. Pizza was ok. Jacket potato’s ok but burger was tasteless full of gristle and grease. Horrible.

We called in for a meal as it looked really nice, the order went in for two lasagna and chips , one sausage chips and beans, when the meal arrived the lasagna was rock hard and dry, the beans looked like they had been on the hot plate a week. The only saving grace was the did not charge for the food . Never go again

Went for before dinner drink young girl at bar got drinks ok then spent ages trying to operate till then overcharged us by double was getting up to complain but decided to give there place a miss for dinner and avoided for rest of holiday not recommended lots of nicer places nearby

The service was terrible no Organization at all, we were out with friends. It took 25 minutes to actually get a drink, we had three different members of staff come to our table to ask about food and drink orders ! We asked for WiFi as it clearly stated on the posters that there was free WiFi available, asked for a cocktail menu put there was a mixology Poster that we were mean’t to look at but apparently that wasn’t the correct one, we were told to look on Facebook with there none existent WiFi !! Then got given a handwritten one with no prices WHAT IS THIS PLACE

Really enjoyed the burger. The service from the girls working in there and then the young chap is really friendly and attentive. You could tell the burger was homemade which makes such a difference. Thank you

Went here yesterday using a groupon voucher thinking it’s pizza so how bad can it be, even my kid can make one of those...wrong Food arrived extra thin and extra greasy and you could count the number of toppings Worst food I’ve ever eaten and now it’s ruined our stay in Llandudno as I now have food poisoning which I know is from the meal, though they’ll deny it!! DISGUSTING FOOD DISGUSTING BATHROOM AVOID AT ALL COSTS

We visited Funkys Bar on a saturday afternoon as we had a groupon voucher.The voucher entitled us to a pizza or a Burger meal and a drink all for just over £10,we ordered our meals and the food arrived 20 minutes later,my girlfriend thought the pizza was first class and my burger was just as good,very good service to match.We will come back in the future.

Met by a lovely lady who explained our groupon options. Gorgeous homemade burgers made with locally sourced meat. Kids had pizzas which again were homemade and delicious. Great pint of Coors too!! Great place, great staff. We will be back next season!

Can’t fault the young lad who greeted us on arrival, very friendly and helpful and accommodating to offer an alternative hot drink to the one on the voucher. Cheerful and informative with menu. Think our mistake was not choosing the burger as the pizza (ham, cheese & pineapple) was not very nice. Flaky thin base, a bit burnt and mostly a mush of cheese as topping. Decor I think needs a refresh too. Unfortunately it was a disappointing meal, although House Pinot grigio lovely & hot drink served in a pretty cup and saucer.

We went with a Groupon voucher. We were greeted by a very pleasant and friendly barman who told us how the build a burger and build a pizza worked. We made our choices, a burger for me and a pizza for my wife. We both agreed that the burger and the pizza were delicious and amongst the best we have ever had. Have the gourmet chips, they're brilliant. A truly enjoyable meal with great service. We'll be back.

We popped in with our groupon voucher for our pizza or burger. The bar was almost empty which didn’t fill us with confidence. My husband ordered a chicken burger and I had a pizza. My husbands burger was over cooked and tough and although the pizza base was lovely and thin, it was let down by the toppings. The lady who served us was great and the only positive part of our visit. The bar is also missing any signs for the funkys bar and grill. Overall not a good experience.

When I booked this meal whilst we were on holiday in Wales, my wife was not too pleased, she doesn't like Pizza and she is not too fond of Burgers. We went with our daughter and her partner and our grandson. We ordered four burgers and two Pizza's of our own choice. Well my wife was delighted as were we all, the Pizza bases were Stone Baked, thin and crispy with tasty toppings and the Burgers were exquisite. The quality of service matched the food and if we lived there it would be a regular favourite eating venue!

Me and my partner were working in the Llandudno area and wanted to grab a late breakfast... As we were looking for a cafe we noticed a sign on the doors for the Alexandra Hotel saying cooked breakfast served until 11.00am (ideal as it was 10.30). Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by a lovely Irishman (presumably the owner) who allowed us to take a seat in the window. Cath, the lovely, bubbly waitress came over to take our drinks order soon after. The drinks were served quickly - the coffee was really nice. We were given ample time to make a decision on our breakfast. Within 10 minutes of placing our order our food was placed in front of us boiling hot and cooked to order. The sausages and bacon were gorgeous and I made a comment openly about them to be told they are supplied by a local butcher (I really like it when businesses support other local businesses). After breakfast (which was fantastic), we decided to stick around for another drink of which was served promptly. During our visit we were greeted by two cooks, the owner and the waitress. They were all having a laugh and a joke with one another and customers. It made for a very relaxed, friendly, family atmosphere. Before paying our bill and leaving we were talking to Cath. She is a truly lovely lady who loves her job and likes making a positive impact on her customers. We discussed other options on the menu and vowed to definitely to return but next time with our family. 5* food hygiene rating on the door which is always warming to see. Inside was clean and tidy with an open kitchen. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning. X

Could not find the bar as its called The Alexandra not Funkys bar n grill. A staff member had to come out to wave us down.

After reading some great reviews decided to try Funky’s for the first time. Menu has a good selection and is reasonably priced. Food however is mediocre at best, frozen chips, luke warm, sort of slapped on a plate food. Reminded me of school canteen food. Staff very friendly. Sadly wouldn’t return or recommend based on food.

Went here this evening on a groupon deal with my husband and twin daughters. We were welcomed by a super friendly Irish lady who didn't treat us any differently when we said that we had a groupon booking & we all know that we would normally get a tut, eye roll and an "ok then"! Our drink order was taken & delivered quickly. We ordered food and did not have long to wait. The food was delicious! We all had burgers. Best bits? Fresh onion rings, beautiful fresh fried mushrooms on our burgers, fresh baps, well cooked burger, fast & friendly service, welcoming atmosphere! Whoever the lovely lady was tonight.. Thank you! We WILL be visiting again soon!

Popped in today on my own for a quick breakfast before work. Very impressed! Excellent value and tasty ingredients for the small amount of money i paid. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommended. will definitely be back.

Called in here for a quick lunch which turned into a fun filled couple of hours involving several large vodkas and a black sambuca shot before 1pm!!! Cath, you are a star, quick witted and hard working. You made our afternoon. Cant wait to call in again over this bank holiday period. This is a must visit venue when in llandudno. Came in after finishing work with my daughter and partner. Been meaning to come for a while, and was not disappointed. Place was cosy, the lady that served us was lovely. The food was delicious. I had the pizza, same as my daughter. Partner had fish and chips which looked and tasted great. And great value for money. Can’t fault the place. Excited to go again and try something else!

As a couple we ate breakfast here a few times and had an evening meal just once. The breakfast offered was multi-choice from a wide selection with various sizes of breakfast available. Everything we had was prepared and served our satisfaction and the service was very attentive. The venue is quite basic, considering that this is part of a residential hotel, and the facilities are at the 2/3 star level at best. Nevertheless, we returned for breakfast on a number of occasions and had a very nice evening meal that provided exceptional value for money. There also seems to be quite a lot of special deals available on different days and at various times of the day. Drinks from the bar were very reasonably priced, particularly double spirit measures with mixers. I would not recommend the linked New Alexandra Hotel as a place to stay but Funky's is a great place to grab a quick meal at a bargain price.

We went to funkys Bar&Grill; as we had a groupon voucher.To be honest the bar does not look that appealing from the outside but when you get in it is very clean with a nice decor.As part of the deal we both had the chicken burgers with bacon and two pints of lager not a bad deal for a tenner,and we also had a portion of chips each as an extra,special mention to the Irish lady waiting on she was a pleasure to talk to and her service was just as good.

Went here with a groupon voucher. It looked a bit run down from the outside but we were wrong, pmeasantly surprised.It was decorated quite nicely inside and the staff were friendly..We shared a mushroom starter, pizza and chips followed by Apple pie.The food was Excellent and great value and we would definitely recommend and next time we are in llandudno we would return and try the burgers which looked really good as well.

Food was amazing, good vibes and lovely service. Couldn't recommend it any more! Well priced and would stay here next time we visit.

went to funkys on the weekend with my friends, wanted to try something different to the usual Johnny doughs and the pizzas were out of this world! will defiantly be going back for a pizza again. The lady ( I think her name was Jane) was very friendly and looked after us well. would highly recommend, don't let the outside put you off.

Was a little taken aback when we saw premises but was very early 6.00pm we had a Groupon voucher but was pleasantly suprised the waitress was lovely.... and the pizzas were the best!!!

Funk'y Bar was great for having our breakfast, the food is all freshly cooked to order and it is delicious. It is also really good value.

My family and I went here for a Christmas Eve meal. The decor is lovely and the staff are very helpful and pleasant. The food was freshly cooked and was delicious. I had garlic mushrooms as a starter and they were the nicest I have had anywhere.

The Sunday roast was great and the staff were really friendly. Definitely recommend to eat there! 5 star!

I visited this bar and grill on two occasions and the food was fantastic, on one evening I had the hand stretched garlic bread and hand stretched pizza. I have not had a pizza this good since I visited Malta.

The staff here are amazing so friendly and so attentive, you can’t fault the food for the price you pay, we ate here for dinner once and twice for breakfast. The service is near perfect friendly, attentive and very pleasant. The dinner was standard pub grub and for the price was great!! The breakfast was something else! £8 it cost for both of us to have a full English (one was vegi) coffees and toast! What a bargain and it tasted great! I really can’t remember the chef/ waiter/ owner of the hotel but the guy deserves a medal! He made our trip to wales! I will be recommending the hotel and pub/bar to friends!

Me and my partner went with our two children and used our groupon voucher I had the pizza and partner had the burger both were delicious best pizza around thin and crispy and you can choose your own sauce and toppings.kids meal was great value for money,drink and meal £3.95 daughter said the chicken nuggets were the best she ever had.the decor of the bar has been done to a high standard very modern, only met one member of staff (didn't catch her name) Irish lady was so helpful and chatty.would recommend this bar to friends and family

Superb food and the cocktails are a treat!! Me and my girlfriend had a groupon voucher for a large pizza and cocktails!! I would highly recommend this bar a grill to anyone visiting the area! Visited Llandudno with my boyfriend for a little break, and had a Groupon voucher as a gift for a burger or large pizza with cocktail (or soft drink) for 2 at Funkys. We both chose a pizza each, we both demolished our pizzas and they were cooked brilliantly and tasted great! I don’t usually like cocktails but thought I’d try one, ‘Funk in the Sun’ was very nice! Jenny our server was very good and checked that we were enjoying out meals and was very friendly. She was on her own yet provided great service. Thank you for the lovely meal and evening Jenny!

We have just visited and had a pizza each. They were both delicious with plenty of toppings. Washed down with an excellent pint of Grolsh. Sat outside in the evening sun. Were made very welcome. Thank you.

Had a homemade Pizza, really good washed down with a couple of pints of Cold Grosch. All at a good price, will be going here again. Not tried the breakfast here yet but will!!

We have visited here for last 2 days for our evening meal. Grandson has had the pizza each night its that good. Made from fresh & comes with fries. He didnt need the fries. We have had Chicken & broccoli tagliatelle with garlic butter sauce. Braised Lamb Liver & mash. Steak, Ale & Mushroom pie with mash & veg. Chicken curry with rice. Garlic bread. Cannot fault & the food was served Hot. Excellent service both days from Jane. Ale great. Prices reasonable. The place is Very clean. Very friendly welcome. A must try if you in the area. Well done guys.
