Fu Hong Chinese Restaurant in Liverpool

Used this place for years , and loved it when Ming and Linda run it . Went the other night for a seafood banquet . Crabmeat soup, very weak , not enough meat in it . And the likes of the seafood rice all little prawns in it . They used to be king prawns , not what I expected . Won’t be going again . This is my second time here and I was disappointed

I have ordered from this restaurant many times and eaten in as well and food has been nice. Tonight we got take out and it was the worst Chinese I have ever had, the chicken sweet corn soup was a bowl of water with a few bits in NO taste at all. Prawn crackers no taste and some were stale. The beef black bean was also very watery. Disappointing all round.

Starters were fine, mains came out 10 mins apart despite us ordering a banquet, arrived stone cold and the staff attitude was very poor blaming us saying we should have ate what was out despite missing two meals and a rice! Argued for 30 minutes about price as we refused to have a recook due to the creepy crawly on the table lusting after the aged food. Foolishly gave in and settled for more than they deserved. What was a family regular is now a family repute.

Been here before a couple times found it OK for price . But tonight not the best starters fine main meal the rice was cold . When we approached I think it was manager she said plate hot . So I told her rice cold .her attitude was really poor took plates away replaced them still rice luke warm .won't be going back

So dissapointed with our visit last night having been there several times,booked a table but did'nt need to as apart from us 4 there were only 10 other people there,we decided on banquet A but finished up so confused by the server saying we could pick another meal off the menu too,starters were really good,however,the main meals were not so good,one was sweet & sour chicken which wasnt good tastewise,same with the beef in oyster sauce,the spicy prawns were the same & after one the rest got left,as for the chicken curry though there were pieces of chicken there was also a lot of skin attached not that pleasant,most of these meals were left,decided on banana fritters for dessert,that was a big mistake,never seen such small ones,must have been cut into three,the batter was doughy & undercooked & the syrup was awful again these were left,we felt just let down for the price paid & cant see us going back despite previous times there.

I have never noticed this place, my daughter had Googled restaurants local and seen this, she and my mum went and told me about it. So went today with my hubby and my mum and kids. Absolutely lovely, lovely polite and helpful staff. Food was gorgeous! Generous portions. Very reasonable priced. Will definitely be coming again!

Got a takeaway from here midweek , the only thing that was nice was the Sui Mai , everything used to be spot on here , not anymore . Lamb black pepper was tiny little scrappy pieces of lamb , salt & pepper squid went in the bin it was like rubber , left the ribs no meat on them & an awful fatty char Sui meal with a horrible tasting sauce . Needs to up its game charging these prices better off going the chippy . Only live local won’t go anymore

Service is good, staff are nice & friendly, Food is tasty, lovely atmosphere. I would of gave a 5* if the soup was thicker.

Paid deposit for Xmas Eve meal was not told at the time was a set menu till I got there tonight Christmas Eve was a set menu £26 per person asked could we order of menu got told no then asked for my deposit back got told no then 3 staff started arguing with me speaking rudely in Chinesse got my money back and went to China garden where we could order anything my family wanted never again cheeky and rude.

Booked and deposit paid for a birthday got there no table ready..fair play wasn't to long. Overall food wasn't to bad 3 out of 5 maybe but dear lord Rude rude staff...unhelpful and abrupt maybe a customer service course wouldn't go a miss...when Bill was ready they forgot to deduct the deposit already paid ...wouldn't go back

Not what I'd expected. Visited as a couple for evening meal- booked for 7pm got sat and drinks straight away. Then ordered and starter of soup came, then we waited and we waited and we waited. Until a waitress came over to tell us they'd dropped our order slip on the floor. We waited for the platter of starters again then waited for the main which wasn't the usual standard of this place. We have came here for years for eating in and take away so I hope it was a blip but I'm not sure. We got a free drink to ease the blow which was a nice gesture considering we'd ordered at 7.05pm and got the main at 8.15pm

Visited yesterday, had banquet B for 2 people we were able to change the meals as well outstanding service so much food we had to take our mains home! I forgot to take pictures of our starters but we had salt and pepper chicken spare ribs spring rolls and prawn roast as well of all the food pictured! All of this food plus drinks £54 this was 2 pints and four cokes, extremely cheap for drinks! So glad this is just on my door step lovely food, staff and service. Thank you

So we’re to start I know we are experience difficult times here but ordered food for takeaway to be told it would be ready at 6pm and I am still waiting now and it’s now 19:40 yet they took our money and like others who are in same position still waiting and to be told it will be another half hour why take orders why tell customers it be ready why make them wait well over an hour and a half cos by time we get it it’s 2 hours waiting time I understand what your going thru but you shouldn’t do this it’s going to make people not come back and believe me I’m going to be one of them also asked for refund to be laughed at don’t think so

Had a meal in fu hong 2nd nov food was lovely piping hot we had the special banquet set meal would highly recommend and be back again soon

Ordered crispy duck and pancakes for a starter; I was served soggy duck the texture was same as liver. Ended meal there and then. AVOID.

Love the teatime menu this restaurant provides. Food is excellent hot & sour soup particularly.. Staff are efficient and friendly too.. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone Sure you won't get the coronavirus here..

Pasamos un tiempo maravilloso con George, Rachael y mi madre en este excelente restaurante chino. El acceso para sillas de ruedas fue a través de la puerta lateral con un ligero paso, pero las camareras fueron muy complacientes incluso ofreciendo levantar la silla de ruedas. Una rampa sería útil. Nos conformamos con el banquete para 4 personas con una sopa extra y arroz. Fácilmente suficiente para los cinco. Tuvimos una variedad de entrantes de sopa seguidos de otros entrantes, luego los rollos de pato y panqueques. Las comidas principales eran geniales y cambiamos las ollas a pollo. Solo dos de nosotros conseguimos los buñuelos al final ya que estábamos tan llenos. Muchas gracias al amable personal. Lamentablemente, para cuando nos fuimos, éramos los únicos huéspedes. Ok food. Ok service. It's not the best, but there's a great value for money. This makes the meal more enjoyable I guess.

Llegué a las 5:30 con un compañero de trabajo y ordené la hora del té. El menú especial ordenó 2 bebidas y nos dieron nuestra sopa 90 minutos después, todavía no habíamos comido nuestros platos principales después de varias quejas al personal que tuvieron que irse ya que ambos trabajamos en Al salir de la comunidad, hablamos con el gerente, que fue irrespetuoso y grosero, pagamos 25 libras por 2 coca-cola y 2 sopas, pero al principio intentó cobrarnos 58 libras. El servicio horrible y los clientes habituales atendidos incluso después de que llegaron una hora más tarde nunca volverán a poner un pie aquí y aconsejarán a mis colegas de trabajo, familiares y amigos que no vayan a este lugar.

He estado aquí muchas veces cuando visité a mi familia en Liverpool y tuve una comida fantástica y un servicio amable. ¡No esta vez! ! Muy hostil bienvenida. Como he dicho, muchas, muchas veces antes y pude agregar platos y mejorar pagando la diferencia, pero en esta ocasión nos dijeron que teníamos que apegarnos al menú y cada persona tenía que comprar una comida. No compartir a pesar de 4 pensionistas de 4 años y un bebé. No daría platos adicionales, etc. y estaba parado junto a la mesa hablando y riendo detrás de las manos, una experiencia desagradable.Nunca he tenido nada más que un servicio amable y agradable antes. No volveremos

El pollo kung po era excesivamente dulce con una salsa insípida y la carne de res frita en rodajas con ajo y chile era como una olla de vinagre, era tan agrio, el pollo al curry era aguado. Tan decepcionado, no sé qué sucedió pero definitivamente lo pensaré dos veces antes de hacer un pedido para llevar. Si estás en el restaurante, puedes quejarte y enviarlo de vuelta, pero es un rigmorole completamente diferente cuando se trata de una comida para llevar. Cuando llegas a casa, desempaquetas y repartes, lo último que quieres hacer es empacar los platos, regresar y quejarte. Ordenas en un restaurante para que obtengas la misma calidad: me vendieron poco y no estoy contento

Dined here twice, and love it! Great Chinese food, salt and pepper chicken wings are amazing, lovely staff and great place love it! Recommend lots and will 100% be returning!

Hemos visitado este restaurante en varias ocasiones. La noche es de gran calidad y la comida siempre está bien preparado y delicioso. En general el servicio es genial, aunque algunos del personal puede ser un poco severo. Sin embargo, no dejes que esto te desanime a este popular restaurante.

He estado en muchos de los Fu Hong veces y nunca he tenido ningún problema. La comida es buenísima es por eso que siempre vuelven y el personal son normalmente excepcional.

I had a lovely meal here this week with work friends , we each had the earlybird special. It was delicious and excellent value for money , staff are very attentive and the restaurant is clean .would definately recommend

Visité Fu Hong con mi familia por mi 50 cumpleaños y me alegro de haberlo hecho. Disfruté de sal y pimienta, alitas de pollo y brochetas de pollo con arroz en un ambiente relajado y agradable. Otros platos ordenados eran carne de ternera chow mein, pimienta verde con salsa de alubias negras y ternera con setas. Todas eran preciosas y en porciones muy generosas. El servicio de ordenar a la mesa en la comida rápida, que era era otra ventaja. Realmente disfrutamos de la comida y la hospitalidad de Fu hong y ganas de volver pronto.

We have always had delicious food in here , we mostly go as a family for special occasions like celebrating birthday Christmas and New year , the banquet are huge and we nearly always take doggy bags home for later or even the next day the staff are all friendly and helpful specially when you have fussy eaters like kids , the atmosphere is like a family run resteraunt

Came here with family for the early bird banquet and was surprised by the choice we had, tasty food with big portions it's well worth a visit

Dined here on a number of occasions and always found the food and staff to be 1st class the variety and quality is one of the best places I have visited, we usually go on Christmas Eve or even new year.

I had Sweet and Sour chicken and noodles, Was a wonderful meal and I finished it all. Definitely recommend.

Firstly we had 21 people booked who all sat down same time orders were taken and meals were served to certain sections didsapointing that people were not all eating together i understand due to the size of the party but could of been better organized the staff seemed to have a bit of a attitude the meals were not the best and Certainly not HOT luke warm dishes sorry to say but will not be going back.

Found a skin coloured plaster in my food about 14 months ago but only just set an account on trip advisor after a holiday, not a blue plaster that chefs should wear.. a skin coloured one that was melted with the heat of the food.. and yes I'd already eaten 2/3 of the meal.. it was a take away I ordered.. I was a regular visitor beachside I live local, I rang them up and they said I. An have a free mealhaven't been back..

Food was disappointing. Duck (and pancakes) to start which was very dry, the skin should be crispy but the meat succulent and full of flavour this was so dry it was hard to eat even with the warm & limp cucumber and had little taste. We then had the chicken and peppers in black bean, which was fairly tasty but looked as though too much cornflour had been used as the sauce had quite a glutinous and lumpy quality about it which was unappealing. Singapore Vermicelli had a nice amount of chilli heat but far too much salt & flavouring. On the plus side the portion sizes are generous but as there were no food warmers used anywhere in the restaurant the food went cold quite quickly. No chopsticks either which is a little disappointing in a Chinese restaurant and all but one of the staff looked pretty miserable. The toilet area was not good as the bin was overflowing with wet toilet tissues because there was no hand dryer or paper towels so visitors had to dry their hands on toilet roll-not great from a hygiene point of view.

My family go here every couple of weeks for the early bird menu. We have tried everything on there and have now started all over again. My brother's birthday is coming up and we have invited him and his family to try the menu, can't wait. the food is great, always piping hot and fresh.

I read reviews on this place an thought we would give it a go,if you like hot and sour soup like i do,dont order,its like drinking vinegar,the main meal was just ok but i didnt think it was cheap, its nice and traditional inside but theres plenty more chinese around well better , quite dissapointed

Everything i have had from here is always nice and fresh and its on my doorstep,better than most chineses in town center and is value for money not much more expensive than the chippy

The food here was great and portion sizes just right to be full with little left over. We were given take away boxes to take what was left home with us. The Early Bird menus offer great value for money but the prices are good anyway. We had a banquet set meal for 3 but changed a couple of the dishes according to our taste and liking with no hassle.The male staff were very friendly but some of the female staff were a bit brusque and 'unapproachable'. The general atmosphere was good and the restaurant was clean and tidy. The toilet facilities were also clean. Overall I would certainly recommend and would certainly visit here again.

Went for an early bird meal with a friend. This is offered 5pm - 7pm. I cannot express highly enough what a total fabulous experience this was. The Restaurant is beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and the staff are so nice and very pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. The little extras offered in this restaurant added to the experience, like beautiful white silk napkins and finger bowls. Now on to the meal and boy I don't know where to start. I chose the early bird banquet A priced at £9.50, I have attached a copy of the menu so you can see what it offers, I have also attached the other early bird offers, but if none of these attract your attention the main menu is extensive and reasonably priced, and I was very surprised as well at the price of the drinks we had a coke and a blackcurrant and soda and these together were only £2.20. I will definitely visit this restaurant again even though I live in Runcorn, it is well worth the journey for an excellent meal and service. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant if you want good food, good service and excellent prices. For a large party you may need to reserve a table.

I have to say this place is on my door step, I never knew it was here. We stumbled across this place after a night out. The food is up there with the best Chinese restaurants I can honestly say I have ever been to. Service is outstanding and the food is perfect. Served piping hot and the place is spotless. I Would highly recommend this place.

Often go to this restaraunt food really good and exceptional value when going for the early bird menu between 5 & 6 pm although to be fair the normal menu is not expensive good choice all round drinks can be a bit expensive a bill is written in Chinese but never had a problem

This restaurant is excellent value for money and serves top quality, very tasty Chinese food. They do an early bird menu that is excellent at £9.50 each for chicken and sweet corn soup, combo of ribs, chicken wings, chicken sesame toast and see weed, followed by a meal of your choice and rice or chips. I will definitely return again.

Came across this off queens drive on my way back from a match with some mates and got the special deal which was quite decent. The food was great and reasonably priced too. In terms of decor,it's quite modern and not like the traditional Chinese restaurant feel I was expecting and service was very friendly. Would definitely recommend

We are lucky enough to live just round the corner from this place, have been here loads of times and ordered takeaways and never had a bad meal here! The decor is lovely, staff friendly, welcoming and efficient, portion sizes huge but still lovely quality food. We have had quite a few family/friend get togethers here and always had a wonderful time, my children in particular love coming here. I would say its definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in Liverpool, would highly recommend a visit!

Where do I start. I couldn't have been more disappointed in this restaurant (if you can call it that). Staff unpleasant, cutlery dirty, floor dirty, and hair in my husbands food. I have notified the council of this restaurant as they shouldn't be allowed to serve food of this low standard. No remorse from owners when I complained and dismissed like we was in the wrong. Take me advice and stay away.

I visited this place last week with my family and I didn't even know it was there until some friends pointed it out to me. First of all it's clean and the service is great. We picked the 9.95 deal which was great value for money and included a soup, appetisers and a main meal. The food was lovely and I will definitely be returning.

We recently moved nearby. We love this place. They have a brilliant meal offer. Three courses for £9.95 you cannot fault anything about this place. Caters for everyone, brilliant with children and we never book. There are always people in here, but they do big tables when you book. We always introduce new people to here

me and my family have been coming to this restraunt for some years now as its local to us and with having small children its easier than travelling.this is a hidden gem,the food is top quality and also living so close we tend to get a lot of take aways.when the children are with us we tend to go the early bird sitting which has a large choice for kids and also the staff are great with them.i could not recommend this place enough,the crispy duck is to die for!!

Eaten here so many times as its at the bottom of our road and the food matches the standards set in the finest in China Town. My particular favourite is '3kinds of quick fried seafood with mange tout' whilst OH loves the fillet steak sizzler with green pepper & blackbean' wee ones love the chow mein with crispy noodles and their particular fave crispy duck. The sea bass here is divine in fact all the seafood dishes ring that bell!!It has a 'local' feel about it, fresh clean decor even if the table decor is dated. Worth a venture out of the city

City Centre standard restaurant food in North Liverpool. I eat from and at this restaurant and take-away on an almost weekly basis. In my mind the best chinese restaurant in liverpool except for maybe the Mei Mei in the city centre.I am currently experiementing with a 100% vegetarian diet for 1 month. I ordered the Vegetable Hot and Sour soup, which I found to be better than the normal meat filled one. I also had mushroom fried rice which I found to be really tasty as welll as chips and curry sauce.My partner had siu mais and special fried rice which she really enjoyed - It made me have a yearning to try some but I stuck by my 30 day plan.I usually order the following when doing take away: salt and pepper chicken pieces, singapore fried rice or maybe char sui in BBQ sauce all ver good. When eating in the restaurant I will usually eat a banquet.They also have a good early bird deal - which is decent.Sorry if the review sounds a bit like an advert however I am a big fan of the restaurant and was happy to see it on Trip Advisor.
