Not nicel like it used to be, curry is horrible burns your mouth off and definitely not English curry, would not recommend

Used to live in the area and it was decent at the time. Stopped whilst passing through and hungry. Have haven't written a review on a chippy before - but I have today. On placing my order - there was a clear discussion between the 2 x lady's about not having enough for a full portion. "You might said the other''. On filling the tray, she again looked anther colleague and shook her head. Her colleague dismissed it. All the time I was appearing to be more focussed on my phone. I would have been happy to wait for a fresh (full) portion. It wasn't offered and I got home to find a measly portion of stale scrag ends, a goodness knows how many times re-heated sausage (Dog enjoyed it, though) and gravy that had been emptied from a fat-filled catheter bag. Well and truly zero ***** given.

Great chippy staff are really friendly they have a great selection of meals and the fish are amazing as they are freshly cooked on arrival

Do not eat from this chippy!!! Chips are never cooked properly and are always raw. Waste of money as it will all go in the bin i can assure you. Staff are very rude and the owner is very arrogant. When i made a complaint i only got a partial refund when all my food was raw, and the owner was very unprofessional and arrogant while deailing with my complaint. The prices are atrocious for the raw food you will get. The worst chippy in the north west.

Good old fashioned English Chippy. Very Friendly staff. Fish cooked on arrival. Well worth a visit. Telephone orders welcomed too.

Not been here for a few years, however tonight I purchased 2 meat and potato pies, large chips, small peas and a large gravy. When dishing this out at home I found the pies to have been microwaved to death and were soggy as hell, the peas were cold, the gravy congealed and the chips absolutely disgusting, they were mainly ends which were blackened, slightly warm and looked like they had been sat there for hours, definitely not at all fresh! I was so disappointed as I had looked forward to this. I messaged them directly straight away and can see they have read it but have not bothered to respond. Not at all happy, complete waste of money

I telephoned this morning politely just to tell the manager that a product he sold me on the 21st of December may have been responsible for causing me to have diagnosed food poisoning. The young lady was non caring , just stating not possible not here , she was rude and non caring

Great chippy I’ve had chippy meals from here and also full English breakfast can’t fault and very reasonable prices highly recommend to anyone 😉

It’s a good chippy, it has a nice little eat in section, cafe type, with free newspaper to read, portions are good, but, more than once, I’ve had to send a pie back, this, if you look in the warmer is a problem, If I am having take out, I have a good look and don’t choose the pies that look like they have been warmed up a dozen times! My problem is just the pies, the rest is superb, can’t fault it, the family work the counter, and just a word to them, I do NOT like being addressed by a young lad as PAL, call me old fashioned, but I prefer better communication, overall, it’s the best in the area, the opening for breakfast is going to be useful, and the chilli is awsome, but, couple of things need improvement,

Massive crispy freshly cooked fish. Just like the chips. Crisp and fresh. Not greasy. Delicious pudding. Helpful friendly staff.

Best chippy for miles. You just can't go wrong with this one. I've had a few different meal combinations and every one a success. I LOVE it <3

Yes can't fault this tonight. Went a few months back and reported it as throughly average but seems that they have upped their game and this was lovely tonight. Will be back soon! 👍

Delicious as always. The fish & chips are fantastic. Well worth waiting for. Good portion sizes. Well worth a visit.

We have been a couple of times now it's changed hands and found the food good but you do have to wait a while for some items like fish. You order on entry and it's cooked fresh so worth the wait. Menus have good choice price reasonable but maybe have a couple of potions cooked for them who have no patients 😊 Overall well worth a try.

This place has been taken over by a real nice family, they have really sorted the place out apart from one thing! They must get a better fish batter or it will end in tears! all three of use agreed. so please get a good beer batter and we'll keep coming back!

Neither bad not good pretty much fair to middling. Decent size portions but chips a bit overdone and fish a bit soggy and underdone. New owners I believe so new start with room for improvement. Try it again though.

The restaurant has new owners and has been refurbished in April/May. The place is welcoming, clean and tidy. The fish and chips are fantastic. The fish is cooked fresh and must be ordered on arrival. You can sit in and eat, or take away. Best fish and chips in the local vicinity. Haven't tried anything else on the menu yet, but will be doing so in the future. Service with a chat and a smile. You can't beat it.

Popped in for a fish and chip supper. The service was friendly and welcoming. The place was clean and tidy and has an indoor seating area too. The fish and chips were fantastic and the fish was made to order (you have to order it when you walk in). Best fish and chips I've tasted in a long time.
