chips were OK fish a little soggy

The chips were horrendous. Didn’t even receive all the food I asked for.

Not happy, i ordered 2x fanta, they sent Rio tropical x2. I phoned and explained my daughter is allergic to mango and he was just like oh ok. We had no fanta (they could No option to change it nothing so ive been chargwd for drinks i didnt ask for!!

Order this normally when ever we fancy a chippy tea, every other time the food is lovely but lastnight it was just not it, chips were uneven, some soggy some hard which isn’t normally like this place! Very upset lastnight with my food especially as we got kids food and it was the same for theirs!!

Ordered Scampi; Sausage, Chips and Curry. The sausage was okay. The scampi was on the cool side. The chips were not nice. Dry, luke-warm and had visible burns on more than a few of them. Please do better

Absolutely awful food. Tasteless mush. More batter than fish. So wet it may as well have been alive and swimming. Not even worth it with the discount

First time ordered from here and the last. Ordered 2 fish n chips with peas.. When driver came to the door he said they didnt have any chips so gave fries. If i wanted fries I would have ordered from a burger joint.They could have called and gave an option then I wouldnt have continued with this order. Peas were watery with white bits in it. yukky. fish was rubbery and the batter burnt. worst fish n chips ive had in my life and thats being polite. never again.. waste of £20...

Food was late! When arrived it was stone cold and hard. Fish and chips are meant to be eaten fresh and warm. Binned and now wasted my money.

first order was cancelled, due to an issue in chippy. re ordered with another chippy. . don't think I will order from them again , sorry . the delivery was late, but that had nothing to do with the delivery driver.

we've ordered from the Old Chippy numerous times. We think it must be a busy night as the food wasn't up to their usual standard. Large portions as always and prompt delivery.

Took an hour and 20 mins to arrive. Food was barely warm. Ordered a chicken burger that was really spicy, despite it not giving any heat warning on the menu. I'm not sure if the wrong burger was given, but ordered x2 and both were spicy.

ordered the chicken box. at first I thought it seemed expensive, but let me tell you. for what you get it really isn't. beautiful big pieces of chicken and a mountain of chips and your sauce and can. it's well worth it, You get loads of chicken and it is gorgeous, it's got a hint of spice and is crispy but juicy at the same time. really impressed with the quality and portion sizes 😁👍

Absolutely disgusting food, bare in mind I ordered chips from a chippy burnt, cold and texture of cardboard, ordered a sausage for my daughter she said it tasted funny I had a little bite and it tasted off 🤮 if she's poorly tomorrow trading standards will be rung, and the gravy was tasteless.....honestly this place is the worst chippy going wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go again in fact I'd advise they just shut themselves down and burn the place 🙏

I just went here for a portion of chips and thought I'd also treat meself to some curry sauce. £6 and a very disappointing overall little portion, despite asking for large chips, and not even that nice (Salt and Vinegar seabrooks on a muffin would have been much better).

The wrong order was delivered to us Chicken nuggets ,thin fries and fruit shoots. My husband took it back to the chip shop and ordered our original order. They were very helpful unlike yourselves as when we complained to you,because we couldnt send

Ordered two portions of fish, chips and curry sauce. Fish was greasy with thick soggy batter. curry sauce weren’t bad. The chips were dry with the consistency of cardboard. The meal was luke warm at best. A Friday teatime which is generally busy for chippies, you would expect it to be better.. The chips the way they were makes it clear to me that it isn’t busy in relation to the ‘chippy’ side of the business.

Fabulous traditional fish, chips, mushy peas and curry - delicious. Huge portions, very well packaged and piping hot. Super fast delivery - would certainly recommend these guys.

Ordered on Uber Eats, food took over an hour to get here and when it got here the chips were soggy, and warm at best. Not exactly cheap for what it is either, I paid £12 for some chips and a sausage.

This evening I tried Old Road Chippy, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst chippy chips I’ve ever had. Most chips were hard and lacked basic seasoning, no salt or vinegar, which left them tasteless. As a former chippy manager, I know that putting real chips into a box, then wrapping them in paper, is a mistake. This traps steam, leaving them hard instead of pleasantly soft and slightly soggy as they should be. Chips should be wrapped in paper alone to achieve the ideal texture. With a few adjustments to seasoning and packaging, the experience could be much better. But currently avoid avoid avoid.

Ordered over an hour ago, called up and they said its being prepared and gonna be sent out. They are 5 mins drive away! I asked to cancel and refund they HUNG UP ON ME! I tried everything i could to cancel and they wouldn't let me. Then when it got here it was the fish was raw, batter was raw, all the chips are burnt and battered sausage was soggy. Absolutely disgusting both food, and the attitude of the place, not even the dog would touch this.

Absolutely delighted with the quality of my food. The chips were crispy, clearly fresh and not in the least bit soggy. The gravy was thick and tasty and the packaging made sure that everything was still fresh and crispy when it arrived. Perfect

This chip shop takes money off customers and refuses to deliver the food and consequently screams at customers down the phone. Would not advise

Think I’ve just eaten the worst chips I’ve ever had! They told me it would be a 10 minute wait as they were cooking a fresh batch… I was absolutely fine with that, I brought them home and they were inedible, soggy and seemed to taste like they were just reheated in the microwave. Awful. The staff need to cheer up as well! Never again.
