Food absolutely spot on again only issue was i got sent the wrong drinks apart from that amazing

although there were specific notes to say come to the flat door, the driver refused this is not the first time this has happened.

Fabulous traditional fish, chips, mushy peas and curry - delicious. Huge portions, very well packaged and piping hot. Super fast delivery - would certainly recommend these guys.

Ordered on Uber Eats, food took over an hour to get here and when it got here the chips were soggy, and warm at best. Not exactly cheap for what it is either, I paid £12 for some chips and a sausage.

This evening I tried Old Road Chippy, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst chippy chips I’ve ever had. Most chips were hard and lacked basic seasoning, no salt or vinegar, which left them tasteless. As a former chippy manager, I know that putting real chips into a box, then wrapping them in paper, is a mistake. This traps steam, leaving them hard instead of pleasantly soft and slightly soggy as they should be. Chips should be wrapped in paper alone to achieve the ideal texture. With a few adjustments to seasoning and packaging, the experience could be much better. But currently avoid avoid avoid.

very poor. the chips where not fresh - very stale with lots of burnt pieces. fish soggy. will not order again from this place.

Ordered over an hour ago, called up and they said its being prepared and gonna be sent out. They are 5 mins drive away! I asked to cancel and refund they HUNG UP ON ME! I tried everything i could to cancel and they wouldn't let me. Then when it got here it was the fish was raw, batter was raw, all the chips are burnt and battered sausage was soggy. Absolutely disgusting both food, and the attitude of the place, not even the dog would touch this.

Absolutely delighted with the quality of my food. The chips were crispy, clearly fresh and not in the least bit soggy. The gravy was thick and tasty and the packaging made sure that everything was still fresh and crispy when it arrived. Perfect

fish and chips were good but I ordered Chinese curry and got something else so it spoiled my dinner ended up throwing most of my order in the bin not happy

got absolutely no updates, called the restaurant numerous times but nobody picked up, app showed delivered for 20+ minutes when i didn’t actually have my food yet

Think I’ve just eaten the worst chips I’ve ever had! They told me it would be a 10 minute wait as they were cooking a fresh batch… I was absolutely fine with that, I brought them home and they were inedible, soggy and seemed to taste like they were just reheated in the microwave. Awful. The staff need to cheer up as well! Never again.

Shocking, wouldn’t order again. Ordered a pie meal. Pie, chips, gravy and a drink. Was due to be delivered between 19.10-19.30, app said food had been delivered at 19.30, it arrived at 19.55. Paid cash on delivery. For close to £15 I received chips and gravy. No pie, no drink. I rang up again after questioning where my order was initially, I was told that I would get a call back and the order would be redelivered, it’s 21.05 I don’t think that it’s coming. Most expensive chips and gravy ever!

Food was piping hot and plentiful

Food was good quality, definitely got my moneys worth. However the communication from the just eat app was off and I only got confirmation my order was confirmed an hour after I ordered it and the driver was already on his way. Apart from that food quality was great

The scampi was excellent. That sausage was fine, enough, but the chips tasted a bit off - iunno how to describe it. Some were okay, others were like, earthy - maybe they were old patatoes or something? As for the drink that was missing entirely.

Food was excellent the Fish from here is delicious pies are nice and fresh chips are lovely beans curry and gravy are delicious too this chippy needs to be on the Best Manchester chippy list it’s way better than any of my local chippys excellent service too thank you for the great service and food keep the good work up ❤️😋👍

Once again, the food was fantastic. As somebody who owns a café bar in Bury, also on Just Eat, you'll find that some of the negative reviews that you read are sadly set up by competitors who clearly can't compete. Trust me when I say, this is the best chippy in the area by far.
