Called In on our way to the aqueduct. We were given a warm welcome by the ladies, and the cakes were fantastic! Only £4 for 2 hot drinks and 2 cakes. What a lovely thing they do for the community - and for a further donation, they gave us doggy bags for later!!

Sunday 3 November 2019, my husband and I found this place by accident on our way home from North Wales. This lovely community centre was open, and is run by lovely volunteer ladies with friendly faces and bright personalities. The Community café offers sandwiches, homemade cakes and various items including tea or coffee. All the cakes are made local by the ladies of the community and there is a impressive choice on offer. My husband and I had tea and coffee served in a vintage pretty cup and mug. Bara Birth and Irish Whisky Cake were served on vintage pretty places, and was totally scrummy, all for the bargain price of £ 3.00 - where can you get all that at that price. Proceeds from this are put back into the community and church, so do go to visit here and help keep up the wonderful work being done by Marjorie and the team of wonderful ladies. Please Note: The Pontcysyllte Aquaduct, is only a short walk away and well worth a visit if you are in the area.

New Year's Day in Froncysllte sees the annual Tug of war over the canal. All the locals take part in raising money for a chosen charity. Afterwards the centre was open, run by volunteers, offering sandwiches, homemade cakes and various items including tea or coffee. Wow, so reasonably priced and very tasty. If you are ever at the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct, please pop in and support these ladies

£3 for two gorgeous homemade cakes, lemon drizzle and coffee walnut, and two hot drinks - can’t recommend highly enough. So happy a couple of walkers told us about this place when we were cycling the tow path from Llangollen to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Parking for car users. Picnic tables and kids climbing frame too

Home made bake off, all home made by the local ladies and any profit goes to charity so what can be better? Lemon drizzle cake is absolutely the best. A Must visit.

This is an afternoon "Tea and cakes" in a local community centre put on by local ladies, the proceeds going to local charities. The cakes and sandwiches are all made by the ladies and just try the lemon drizzle,,oooh! Only open in season, but blinkin' good value and ideal when visiting Telford Viaduct or just walking the canal.

This marvellous little community centre, just over the Poncysyllte aqueduct, is run by and on behalf of the local community and church. Kitchen and public areas are spotlessly clean and the loos are great. You can choose from an assortment of fresh white/brown sandwiches or baps, various beautiful home made cakes, and, although I did not see it on the menu, I'm sure I saw someone with a beefburger. Tea, coffee and cold drinks are also available. Ample parking for travellers. Everything is beautifully fresh and the prices are more than reasonable.

This is a place we frequent before or after going for a walk. Friendly volunteer staff who provide tasty sandwiches and cakes/scones. Sadly, it only open from March to September.

We arrived in the area on the Saturday for a weeks holiday and were looking to find Jones the boat ready for the following days trip, we parked up and went in to get directions, but then stopped for coffee and cake, which were really good value for money and cake was home made. There was a gentleman there selling jams and relishes ect. bought two jars of jam. I had the jams while on holiday, did call back later in week hoping to buy some more but gentleman only there on weekends. Going back to area next year and will definitely try to get some more lovely home made jam....

We stopped at Froncysyllte (try saying *that* when you've had a glass of wine) on a bank holiday Monday to let the dog out along the world-famous aqueduct on our way back from deepest darkest Anglesey to London. We only parked in the community centre because the canal-side park was full, and thought the least we could do was support the local community centre which, a small sign boasted, was open from 12-4 for hot drinks and sandwiches. The four local ladies who were fussing benignly in the kitchen looked a little startled to see us - or anyone, for that matter - enter. They bravely stepped up to the task of preparing five sandwiches, two cups of tea and a couple of slices of cake all the same. It was quite the military operation. Looking beneficently on was a gentleman standing by "Ted's Preserves", a handsomely stocked stall of chutnies, conserves and pickles, whom one must assume was Ted. He didn't see fit to intervene even when, as it did for a time, the sandwich-compiling exercise looked touch and go: the prepared tuna mayonnaise ran out and the ladies couldn't find a tin-opener; there was only one can of coke left (they may have sold out, but I suspect they only ever had the one), and no-one was quite sure how much the coffee and walnut cake should be sold for. I fear these lovely ladies rather lost their collective nerve and undercharged for it (£1 per slice) for it was surely excellent: in an upmarket London eaterie you'd pay ten times for something half as good. As were the sandwiches, for which they charged £1.50 a piece. They disappeared without a trace. So good was the cake that we ordered more, and filmed the speed at which our three children devoured it: the plate was empty in about eighteen seconds.

Beautifully run family pub. Made to feel very welcome any day of the week. With a stunning beer garden and family staff it’s a must go to in North Wales. Surrounded by history it’s located right on the WELSH border. Highly recommend Be careful on the pool table though Very competitive and there can only be one champ 🏆
