Frogmoon Café in Aberdeen City

The Frogmoon is a stand out cafe in Aberdeen, don't be put off by the small walk from Union Street. There is a great atmosphere with wonderful staff. We both had the pesto sandwich along with some desserts all of which was delicious. We will be back soon.

This is a brilliant café with a lovely owner. The atmosphere is really special -- it reminds me of low-key piano cafés I remember going to a couple of decades ago in Japan. It's in a great location as there aren't really that many cafés in the area. The prices are very reasonable and the selection of food, drinks, and cakes is brilliant. Definitely worth a visit!

I love the cheesecake and the vibe

A lovely wee cafe tucked away on the Gallowgate. It’s very cosy and friendly. I had a lovely lunch and only wished I had had time to enjoy a coffee and cake too.

I can’t recommend this place enough! It has a lot of vegan options, from very healthy salads to typical Scottish dessert. All vegan! The atmosphere was perfect and the service outstanding 😍 It is probably my new favourite restaurant

This has become our regular "go-to" place to eat whenever we're in Aberdeen - food is excellent - great choice of vege/vegan food - friendly service - calm atmosphere - location isn't great but still worth a visit!

A hidden gem. I was not aware of this cafe until someone told me to try it out. Excellent coffees and cakes, I had a smoothie to take away, which was excellent. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful time in this welcoming cafe. Both food and drinks were of a great quality. It was the biggest plate of salad I've ever had.

What a find! Don't be put off by the location; this place is 100% worth finding! Adam is a great host, the coffee's good, my caramelized banana porridge was to die for, the decor and music and vibe are amazing. GO HERE!

Very cozy! Has great vegetarian food

You might not even notice the place, hidden away in an unassuming location. However, if you are looking for one absolutely scrumptious bowl of oatmeal, I strongly recommend a visit to the Frogmoon Cafe.

I went there for the first time today and it was honestly a gem to find! The desserts are top quality all home made, the latte was also delicious and the cafe manager was the sweetest, most welcoming gentleman! The atmosphere was so calming and before we knew it, it was closing time! Lost track of time! Thank you for welcoming us to your most humble cafe! Can’t wait to come back again for more tasty treats!!

Wow! What a great place. Kicking myself for not visiting sooner. We were late but there was no issue changing to a later time, plus you can just walk in. Cheap prices, delicious food and friendly service in a lovely atmosphere. A real hidden gem and totally vegan! The deserts are AMAZING! We were lucky enough to be there at the same time as an art exhibition opening (in photos) and were invited to stay later and offered wine and food. Definitely visit this place it's a 5 minute walk from Aberdeens main street.

A hidden gem if you're looking for vegan options. A choice of delicious homemade vegan cakes, and a lovely cup of coffee. Cosy atmosphere, friendly and helpful service. Would definitely recommend.

One of my favourite places in Aberdeen. The food is good, massive vegan selection, good ambiance and interior design - and the owner is the best. I’m always sad it’s not more busy! Stop thinking about it and go to Frogmoon!!

Delicious, healthy, homemade vegan food with a friendly owner. (Do not park in the paid parking in the council estate near the cafe, I had all of my tyres vandalised. Park in the actual car park close by)

Such an incredible cosy cafe. It has a lovely atmosphere, it feels very welcoming. The food and coffees are very good. I had a smoothie, which was freshly made and very tasty. The man behind the counter was so friendly and eager to chat to us. He is definitely a big part of why we would return to this cafe. A winner of a cafe, I strongly recommend Frogmoon Cafe if you're in the area.

Great food, went for the chicken pesto sandwich and a tomato and mozzarella panini, with bottled drinks from the cabinet. The owner was lovely and very helpful and the atmosphere was very inviting and homely. We took cakes home which are homemade by the owner and they were delicious. Looking forward to visiting again.

I can not emphasize enough how pleasant the experience was here . Me and my lady were looking for coffe shops around the area. I had to throw away 3 coffees . They all sucked. I won’t bash their names here but frogmoon was off the beaten path so me and my lady decided why not just try one more.. This place couldn’t be any more of a hidden gem. Adam is engaging and welcoming. He’s a brilliant baker , chef, carpenter, man of many languages and stories. He’s fluent in Arabic , Russian , polish and English. But most importantly fluent in the art of telling stories. He’s my favorite person that I’ve met while over here in Scotland and I want to keep going back . The coffee here is fantastic. He takes his time , simultaneously being quick and precise. His shop is adorned with all sorts of frog moon images-even the saucers and cups. His story about the origin of the name is heartwarming only second to his warm personality. If you haven’t tried this place , do yourself a favor and try it out. You can’t say you love coffe or cake without coming to this place. The cakes are out of this world … I have never had a better cake in my life . I didn’t even want cake until I had his now I’ve gone back multiple times to gorge myself. Try the forest moss cake…

Really enjoyed my first visit here. Owner was really friendly. Enjoyed the art work and music as well as the impromptu harpist that arrived. Definitely a hidden gem.

Amazing food and a nice ambiance.

Such a lovely place to be. The owner is simply the kindest, food is delicious. He even bakes the cakes himself and honestly I couldn't speak enough about the passion and heart he put into this place. I personally fell in love with a coffee that tasted great especially in such a cozy space. I'm definitely going to be a regular guest of the Frogmoon Café because of their exceptional, home-like atmosphere. In a picture the owner is teaching my friend how to play a melody on his local piano. The whole interaction was simply amazing and extra friendly.

Amazing!! My partner and I went for our anniversary as we are new to town and wanted to explore cafes. The atmosphere was immediately inviting and the owner is very friendly and was wonderful to us. We sat and had a massive breakfast and coffee, and as we were sitting with our drinks a girl came in to play the harp for us!!! We could not believe it, and ended up staying for hours. What a lovely place, we will definitely be back often.

The place is lovely it's a nice calming cafe and really relaxed. The cheese cake is amazing and hot drinks are the best I've ever had much better then places like star bucks and Costa you can really tell the difference, the price is reasonable as well. The service is amazing with great customer service skills and kind personality

Lovely vegetarian cafe in an unexpected almost hidden place

My two kids, wife and I had breakfast there last week. We all had different drinks and various foods. Everything was excellent! The gentleman who waited on us and prepared the food was very gracious. We loved the whole experience! Highly recommend.

Beautiful and relaxed little place just outside the city centre and well worth a short walk up Gallowgate. The vegetarian and vegan options are incredible and the owner is very welcoming - welcome change to other places in town where you come in at 12pm and feel like an inconvenience. The hand made desserts are phenomenal. The menus are in a very nice laminated picture book so you can see what everything looks like too. I'd recommend it for a family visit (they have board games for young ones!) or a date.

As others have said, this place is a hidden gem. It may not be in the most upmarket area but it is a first class venue. The owner is super friendly with amazing home made refreshing and not overly sweet cakes. Coffee and the breakfast tea were served to perfection. A great place to visit and highly recommend. For any Bristow guys and girls, this is the different place you need to visit to have a proper change of scene.

I visited the Frogmoon Cafe today for a cup of coffee and a cake and I had a really lovely experience. The man working at the counter who served my friends and I was as friendly as could be and I will definitely be returning. Would recommend to anyone looking to try somewhere new in the city centre!

Lovely vegetarian food, the tea is nice too. Don't be put off by the outside as the atmosphere inside is great and the food is delicious. Friendly staff also some board games available if you want while you wait.

Great cakes and coffee but the cooked breakfast was disappointing, as the food ranged from warm to room temperature to actually cold. I think the problem is that they don't really have a big enough kitchen to cook everything at once, so it's understandable in that regard, but I'd advise them to remove the cooked breakfast from the menu if that's the case, as (from reading the other reviews here) their other savoury dishes seem to have left a much better impression on other reviewers.

Frogmoon has such a nice atmosphere, great food and drinks for good price. They also change the scenery every month. I don't write many reviews, but this place is just amazing.

Delicious food and drink just a hop outside the city centre. A real hidden gem! The forest moss and mole mound cakes were scrumptious and unique, and the coffee was lovely. We had heard about the cakes in an online vegan group and had to come try them while we were visiting the city. The interior was tasteful, cozy and inviting. Seemed very welcoming to students, as there were outlets by the tables and lots of space. Will visit again if in the area!

Cute little place! I went to this café during Spectra Festival and they had an amazing mini 3D exhibition as well as some very good “Glow Juice.” 🙂 Definitely recommend and will be back.

A real hidden gem! The caramelised banana porridge I had was absolutely amazing. The cafe is beautiful and has a lovely vibe. The owners were nice to talk to I wish them all the best. Will definitely come back soon!

I'm not a fan of courgette soup, and the guy at the counter (owner, I think) said he's managed to convert everyone to it but one person. Now, he can add another person to this list. Also had a coconut milk mocha, which was beautiful.

I am so glad that apart from having healthy food, Frogmoon is also showcasing paintings of local artists and gathering creative people together!

Found this hidden gem via a Google search for cafes as fairly new to Aberdeen. I'm not vegan myself but definitely enjoyed my brunch and coffee and will be back to try some more. Nice relaxed atmosphere inside, friendly staff and affordable too, go and give them a visit!

Randomly found this place while walking around the city. Originally didn't realize it was a Vegan restaurant, but didn't matter. The soup was delicious and the pastries were definitely worth getting. We were a group of about 6 people and everyone finished everything on their plates. The owner is absolutely adorable! We loved his vibe and he had a great sense of humor. Definitely check this place out!

A little hidden gem a bit off the beaten track - absolutely worth the short walk! Great decor with local art on display, good coffee and amazing selection of vegan treats - do try the Forrest Moss cake! We had a great veggie full breakfast, caramelised banana porridge and mango smoothie - all definitely recommended. Frogmoon is now firmly on our list of places to go to when in Aberdeen!

Frogmoon café is a pleasant café with a nice atmosphere and good selection various cakes and food options. The majority of the menu is vegan and it appears the entirety is vegetarian. The cake I chose was delicious, and well worth the price. I also enjoyed the filter coffee, which was a generous amount and tasted lovely. The music playlist was extremely atmospheric. I would recommend this café for a chill place to work or read, whilst enjoying a nice coffee.

A lovely find yesterday and hidden away in a most unlikely place under the skyscraper opposite College on Gallowgate. I had their homemade soup which was delicious and I'll definitely go back as their unusual cakes looked amazing and apparently their porridge is top of it's class! Well worth a visit.

Went in for lunch and it excellent. Had an interesting chat with the chef about his vegan ingredients! Love the decor and furniture and we’ll be back for sure. Thoroughly recommend this gem of a place.

Happened to stumble upon this place today and I’m so glad I did. It’s currently cash only (for now) so I got the apple spinach smoothie and it was delicious. The owner was lovely and the current menu looks great. I’m really excited to see this place in full swing
