Friendlies Kirkcaldy in Fife

This used to be a tasty takeaway we used most Sundays but last 2 times not good , chef must have changed as standard and taste has gone , Don’t go defo not good anymore !!!!

Food was piping hot and delicious and my dietary preferences were followed to the letter. Extremely fast delivery and a lovely, friendly driver. Highly recommend.

Have finally given up with this lot , give u an estimated time on just eat and if you lucky turns up 30 mins late

Ordered online and it said it would be 30-50 mins 2 hours later and still nothing and can’t get through on the phone. Disappointed

Kicked up hell about price of delivery. Been a regular for last few years to be told it was £3.50 for delivery in KIRKCALDY cause i live at top end. Ive never been charged that from any delivery. I usually give great tips as ive done that job but no more meals from here. Also just eat charge extra on each item and a service charge at end as well. SHOCKING wat to treat regular customers. Id see the point if i lived in cardenden but the same town. Disgrace.

Have been a massive fan for past year with top notch food, don't know what's happened but food was half cold on last order and just wasn't the same quality, I always tweak a set meal for two but was abruptly told I couldn't do this any more, obviously the customer isn't right in these COVID times any longer. Probs would change to another restaurant after the last two experiences. 😐

We enjoyed our first Friendlies takeaway meal during our recent stay in Kirkcaldy. Food was hot when it arrived and full of flavour. Our youngest son usually only eats dad's homemade salt and pepper chicken but he said Friendlies was 'as good as' lol. Will use again next time we are in Kirkcaldy.

Despite using this take away many times and always mentioning a severe allergy, now twice it has sent a meal with the allergin, as well as an incorrect order. We will not use again.

Ordered through just eat, was told at time of placing order it would be 35-50mins, this jumped up to 1hr20 once order placed, 2 phone calls later and nearly 3 hours after placing the order it arrived, food mediocre at best, i think someone had stood on the prawn crackers as not one was whole. Would not recommend.

The most disappointing singapore fried rice ever. Tasted of uncooked dried ground pepper or curry powder. Run out of chillies? It was dreadful and brown not like any chinese rice ive ever eaten. Had flu (hence delivery) and not eaten a proper meal for over a week and really looking forward to the meal ive eaten time and again. Paid over £12 with some springrolls to get delivery option.Springrolls were on the blandside but at least as expected. Waste of money; waste of food.

Lovely food and good prices even my wee fussy boy was enjoying his chicken balls. Ordered lots of times and definitely will do more.

Ordered Salt & Pepper Chicken Appetiser and very dry with little chicken. Very chewy Egg Foo Young was well cooked and looked good but taste was bland. Felt jo real flavour. Felt lacked soy suace during cooking. Chips also crispy and overdone. Curry sauce just isnt that great. Disappointed

Please don't waste your money here! I couldn't even eat it and I am not that fussy about food. I have no idea where the chicken comes from or how old it is but it was really stringy and tasted off. Will never use again!!!

We found the staff warm and welcoming while service was prompt.We enjoyed the Fried Rice meals and a Chicken Chow Mein.Prices were reasonable.

Muy buen precio para el volumen de alimentos que pedimos (ha pasado un tiempo desde que tuvimos una buena comida china y nuestros ojos pudiera haber sido un poco más grande de lo que panza al timbre), hubiera sido una buena idea pedir un menú cuando pedimos nuestra comida, ya que sólo teníamos la opción en línea. Cheap and great taste. Ordered a cheeky chips with egg fried rice & BBQ sauce. Chips are as everywhere nowadays & frozen, however it does what it needs to be. Long gone are the days of freshh chips made by the Chinese. 10/10

After using Friendlies in Burntisland for years the Kirkcaldy version of our favourite dishes were very disappointing. The batter on the King prawns was floury and soft. The chilli Thai sauce was glutinous and horrible. I don't think I'll be in a hurry to try their food again. Hugely disappointed.

chicken was more like chicken nuggets - so think they are buying in ready made chicken pieces rather than dicing chicken themselves. good delivery time as always.

I had specifically asked for the food to be delivered at 8.45/8.50 and it came at 8.10. Luckily we were back home early but if we were back at our usual time we would have missed the delivery.

After a couple of bad experiences we thought we would try again. There was no need for the excess salt used in the meal. Will be looking for another takeaway from now on

Terrible waited over an hour for half cooked chips and stodgy curry

ordered takeaway at 7.30pm. its now 9.10pm and no delivery but the order states it was. Still starving and will not use this carry out shambles of a place again.

Good food but delivery took almost double the time they said it would.

If you are after curry sauce and chips, this is your place to come! I always go to a chinese for their salt and pepper chicken and wings and this place is truly awful, couldn't eat anything. Genuinely had to put the lot in the bin. Crispy chicken was really soggy and not even sure it was actually chicken, wings were soaking in grease and really soggy as well. Will never use again!

Quality and service are always great - crispy seaweed was a bit off/burnt on this occasion but salt and pepper shredded chicken and satay were ace x

Absolutely no reason for the amount of salt used in the meals rendering them inedible!! Last 2 orders have been a really bad experience

Placed order at 19.20, phoned at 20.46 to be told order on its way, phoned again at 21.09 to be told definitely on its way. Explained the food would probably be cold due to the time it was taking for delivery, was asked to accept it this time & would receive 10% discount next time. So I have to pay for cold food?!?! We order at least 2/3 times a week but won't be using them anymore

I love eating out this place but after my last order a really think I should receive a free meal due to the time I had to wait on it getting delivered....two bloody hours a think that is a disgrace

Chicken with garlic sauce were awful. With skin, too spicy. But the rice was excellent, big portion and tasty.

Usually my go to for Chinese but the quality of the food was not as good as usual, also found some plastic in one of the meals.

1st delivery was great but 2nd was shocking, we paid delivery then got phone call to say we'd have to pay more (even though Just Eat stated £1.70 delivery charge) so £3.00 delivery from Kdy to East Wemyss! Never had that trouble the 1st time. Food was ok but spring rolls had nothing in them, basically just folded pastry with no filling. Won't use again.

Best chicken curry in the town!

Love this place. Beef and onion with boiled rice is amazing. My daughter loves the chicken chow mein and my mum the chicken curry. Quite quick for delivery time also

Ordered a duck curry, was real nice. Big pieces of duck, cooked well and a good amount. Salt & pepper chips could have been a bit better though. Would defo use again as I love duck, which I couldn't fault from here, so that will more than likely bring me back...

I love the food from friendlies. Chicken noodle soup, chicken breast curry and rice are family favourites. Always accommodating whether sitting in, taking away or having a delivery.

Very good food and great value for money. I WOULD recommend the chicken satay as its my favourite dish along with bbq ribs.

Received deep fried chicken swimming in what could loosely be described as garlic water. Rest was ok and delivery time was very good.

Food cold and reheated clearly leftovers reheated from day before. Chips pale and soggy. Curry sauce freezing cold. Delivery was forty mins late despite ordering two hours before time I wanted meal and them accepting order for that time. Delivery driver appaling atrocius manners.

Food is always piping hot and delicious. No complaints at all. Always listen to your specific requirements such as "no prawns". I wish they offered half portions though.

After receiving the wrong order it was quickly rectified but wish I stick with what they sent me in the first place. First time I've had a disappointing meal from here. Stick to what I know in future.

Regular customer as food is consistently good, and portion size is generous.

Delivery charge was 1.50 to Thornton then I was charged a further 1.50 for delivery. Was advised delivery time 45 mins to an hour but it was a 1 hour 50 to 2 hours before it came.

The meal wasn't great. Chips were really really greasy and soggy. Inedible. Wouldn't order from here again unfortunately.

Delicious as per. The Chinese lady was lovely in the shop. Her wee boy was very helpful too trying to get me my bottle of coke... That took a while but hey he was like 3 years old lol. Ordered food from friendlies since the shop opened and love the food and shop very much. Paul :) xx
