Cosy, friendly cafe in the heart of the town. Much nicer than any of the big soul-less chains splattered around every high street. Comfy armchairs and sofas intermingle with rustic wooden tables. Relaxing atmosphere. The hidden bar downstairs is perfect for parties or informal meetings. Love it.

Great place for food or just a coffee. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good place to meet friends or just sit and do the crossword and chill.

Used to be friendly, tasty and good. Th spanish omelette was bland and dry. The salad was fresh but dull. The cakes are mass manufactured. The lady behind the counter was far from welcoming or friendly. Very disappointed as this used to be a good place.

Tried this for the first time on Sunday afternoon, the coffee was good. However despite all of us wanting a cake, the Costco and Cadbury cakes are not enticing particularly as we know how much they cost to buy! The lady behind the counter was efficient but not exactly cheerful or welcoming. Such a shame as a cafe which isn't part of a chain would definitely get more of our support.

This is a great place for a meal or if you fancy a coffee and cake. It is very clean and there are some cosy corners to hang out in. Service is friendly and quick. I would rather pop in here for coffee and a bite to eat than head to those other well known coffee chains! Their cakes are amazing and they give you big slices too! :)

Visited her after reading good reviews on trip advisor and I must say I was not disappointed. Lovely breakfast choices with crepes both savory and sweet and omelettes. Went for the spinach omelette with blue cheese and toppped it off with a lemon and sugar crepe.

This coffee shop has a hidden bar downstairs that you can book for private buffet party and drinks events. The owner and staff are really lovely friendly people and the buffet supplied was really varied, plentiful and good and at a reasonable price. A speaker was supplied that you just plug your iphone or tablet into for music. It is decorated nicely and has a private bar. Drink prices were reasonable. Prior to the party we had been in for coffee and lunch upstairs and that was very good.

Great coffee, good food, lovely staff and good value !! It has a license too so its great at any time of the day/eve!!

After a high street tour, on your way to home, you just insist for one more glass of wine. Maybe two. It should be a Pinot Nero at this place. Get some olives too. It's a discreet place. Be discreet and get there. Shhh...!

We had breakfast here which we thoroughly enjoyed. Great selection of breakfast items and great coffee! This is a very cosy and welcoming cafe. We left wishing we could have returned for lunch as the food looked amazing!

Comida hermosa fresca y tal atención al detalle con gusto. No puedo recomendarlo lo suficiente. Fantastic little cafe in Central Watford. Great service and fresh home made food. Has become a bit of a regular haunt for me now. Really can't over praise on the level of service.

Very nice little coffee place, coffee's good, nice selection of teas, food's pretty good too and a nice and relaxing atmosphere I particularly like there Tuna Mayo toasted sandwich, my friend said the crepes are yummiee.Staff are cheerful not over expensive may need a little patience sometimes the language barrier can be a little lip biting - definitely worth a visit :)

Went for lunch with a friend, staff were nice, there were some communication problems when ordering and our questions about the tuna and salmon salads seemed to confuse them...we were given to understand there was smoked or tinned tuna but just tinned, not smoked, salmon. I ordered a salad with prosciutto in the end as I was told there wasn't a smoked salmon salad, my friend ordered tinned tuna...mine came as expected, hers was a smoked salmon salad! Both were nice but arrived with a slice of slightly toasted sliced white bread....not even a freshly cut slice from a good loaf, a kind of damp, cheap, pre sliced bread (we had smelt burning just before our meals arrived which could explain why it was only slightly toasted) We both left the bread, the salads were nice and fresh and large enough that the bread wasn't even needed.The coffee was ok but a bit weak, sugar sachets were dished out on request rather than put on the table. The desserts looked very nice but we didn't try any.It was a reasonably priced lunch and apart from a noisy customer speaking on his phone very loudly it was a pleasant environment, I wouldn't rush back though.

Great little coffee shop tucked away in market street ... with a continental feel, surroundings very cute & slightly quirky. Great for early evening. Lovely coffee & crepes!

Early Sunday breakfast very fresh and staff were friendly. Good free Wi Fi, nice touch with strawberry plants growing on the tables

A nice little cafe with a mood lit wine bar downstairs. The food was good quality and plentiful. Certainly a good place to stop for a bite to eat in Watford (which seems to be limiting these days).I cant comment on the wine bar part.

Loved it from I stepped in. It was absolutely amazing I'll have to say. Such a romantic spot right in the Centre of Watford and nearly felt I was sitting in a cafe in Spain or somewhere like that. Sweet helpful waitress. Had a hot chocolate and chocolate fudge cake which I enjoyed BIG time. Delicious☺ will definitely recommend this place for everyone ☺☺☺ (psst downstairs there is also a winebar☺)

Ignored by staff, sat at a table and wasn't even given a drinks menu after 10 minutes. We got us and walked out. They didn't even care!! Won't bother with trying it again.

A lovely cafe, just off the top of Watford's High Street. Serving lovely coffees and tea. Great service and a lovely ambience. Would recommend.

One of the nicest coffee shops/bars in Watford. Even has live music on a Saturday night. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere! I definitely recommend it!

This is a small but cosy cafe with plenty of easy chairs to sit comfortably while you drink coffee and chat with friends. As well as a range = of delicious cakes, there are hot snacks available such as omelette, soup and baked potato. The food is freshly cooked and presented well, but it does take time to cook, however, there are newspapers to read while you wait.

By standard small Italian feel with anti pasta..freshly made crepes savourY and sweet...delicious desserts, cakes, wines, drinks fridge all on display to entice you..found the decor added a touch of everything down to the 80's music...

absolutely brilliant bar with the greatest staff ever 'the food excellent &so was the drink. just loved it & cant wait to return .

This is just such a wonderful homely place you are made welcome as soon as you walk in the door.The food has a real personal touch to it and any changes you like to the menu dishes is always accommodated. The live music on Saturday nights is outstanding and not to be missed.There is a great variety of alcoholic and soft drinks for everyone's taste.The people working here are so lovely and make you feel so at home .Definitely give it a go .

I've been there a couple of times and on both occasions I had an excellent experience; tried both food and coffee: tasty, very good service, clean and a lovely atmosphere! What I also like is that the fresh food on display is covered by a glass window for hygiene - something that you don't normally see in other places where they serve/sell fresh products...Keep up the good work! I certainly recommend the Fresh Shop!

A new independent coffee shop, love the interior and has a downstairs too that I'm looking forward to visiting some evening. I had a spinach and cheese crepe and other half had a full breakfast crepe. Really really good! The ambience was nice and prices reasonable. Service was OK, a smile when our food was delivered wouldn't go amiss and we would have probably had cake if approached by staff but will definitely be back. Hope it does well for them.

Lovely air relaxed modern independent coffee bar. Went for music on Saturday night which I enjoyed. On the downside my cheesecake was dry and hard. Overall recommended.

This is just the sort of place Watford needs. A great independent cafe with a wine bar down stairs. The food is good, the coffee is great and the ladies running it are bonkers!

I have been into the freash coffee a few time and every time I go there the girls there are alway welcoming friendly helpfull your coffe come just the way you like it and it always pipping hot the team always have time for a chat with you. Witch make it more friendly and welcoming the freash coffee shop is a great to go to hang out with friend s and with family in like some of the bigger coffee chains in the town center. Who are more like get you in take your money and then boot you out You don't get that at freash Long may freash coffee shop watford last and the girls have all the best off luck and they get bigger and bigger and bitter and bitter the coffee get s 100/100the girls get 100/100 freash coffee shops get as gold star will be comeing time and time again and I will let al my friends and family know about them

visited on 20 07 2015 for lunch with my friends and we had wonderful time .the food was excellent and fresh ,eat creep with one glass of wine .was very good service and staff were very friendly ,warm and helpful.highly recommended !!!!!!

Great coffee, and wonderfully delicious, freshly made, mixed grain paninni. Staff were friendly and helpful, table service. lovely looking menu with sweet and savory crepes made to order, Wine bar down stairs. Really hope it can become a successful business. Lovely to find unique, individual places like this. open till late

I visited Fresh Shop for the first time today and was really pleased I did. Just off the High Street in Market Street it is Watford's hidden gem. The staff were really friendly and very helpful and the menu was brilliant. They even make crepes while you wait. Good selection of drinks hot and cold, they even have an alcohol licence. It was a late lunch and I wanted something light as it was a hot day. We decided to share the cheeseboard - and I'm so glad we did as I would never have managed it by myself. The selection of Italian cheese was amazing and came with a bowl of olives. They open early and close late and are well worth a visit.

It should be a great little place; coffee, beer, crepes, snacks, salads, wifi, occasional live music. But after 2 trips here I'm not sure I'll be back.Firstly the woman who served us was cold and unwelcoming. She refused to make eye contact and grunted instead of speaking.Secondly (a pet hate of mine) - no facility to pay on card. This is a place where you can spend money on a few beers, a salad, crepe, coffee and cake; but I've got to come prepared in advance with cash (or ask someone to hold your table while you leave and find a cashpoint halfway through your visit)Thirdly if you're going to make the place look nice with plants, then make the place look nice with plants. It's depressing to look at a wilted, dying plant that takes a number of minutes to work out it's lavender.Fourthly the bald woman's boyfriend (who had obviously been in there drinking for some time) obviously had taken against us. I don't know if was because he'd overheard conversations between myself and my boyfriend and taken exception to same sex couples, or if he was just obnoxious; but whatever the reason he disliked us. He began by interrupting our conversation to tell us our hats (it was a hot day) were hideous and we shouldn't have left the house. He then obviously was discussing us with his girlfriend; the clue was when he stopped using words and started miming and pointing in our direction. Then on leaving he called after us heckling.Overall we were made to feel uncomfortable and unwanted.

this cafe is a welcome addition to the otherwise dowdy cafe scene in Watford, which is dominated by chains and greasy spoons. Run by three charming women it serves fantastic coffee - the best espresso macchiato I've had for a long time, with great-looking salads, crepes, Pannonia, cakes and other sweet treats. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, and real service with a smile. Overall, not Normal for Watford, and it deserves to do really well.I popped in on my way back from the hospital, and will be making good use of this place in the future.
