First time visit here after meaning to try it out. We went for a soup and chilli 'pasty' each with a coffee. The soup was thick, dahl style and nice tasting. Chilli pasty could have upped the flavours and spice, a little bland. I'd also name it a calzone as it was like thin pizza dough than pastry. The coffee was superb, easily the best in darwen. Certainly recommended from me.

Called in for some lunch midday to take away, the place was empty which wasn’t reassuring. Ordered a wrap, chickpeas salad and chilli. It was bland, slop with a bit of salad chucked in! Overpriced too and quite disappointing

I’ve only just started going here for sit-in/take-away lunch. Loved the soup and bread, I really enjoy the root vegetable pasta salad (favourite so far) and more recently a veg mayo salad. It’s not the cheapest lunch but you get what you pay for - the quality and taste are amazing!

Lovely place and really friendly staff. Very tasty food at a good price. We had the veg broth with bread and tofu wrap, both excellent, also apple and ginger smoothie. The choc slices were so yummy, particularly the peanut butter one! Would highly recommend. We sat in at some window seats which was lovely, small seated area available. Deli with items to take away, also bread and veg sold. Toilet could be updated. More seating would be great.

What a great find and worth the journey on the train. Had the Thai Coconut Soup with homemade sourdough bread. So fresh and warming on a cold day. Limited seats to eat in but they were very accommodating. I heard they are in the process of planning a move to larger premises soon. Follow them on facebook. Range of organic fruit & veg for sale too. Vegan cakes were awesome.

Yet another fabulous filling lunch. Love the fact I’m not polluting the planet or my body and I crave the lentil broths - they are sooo tasty. I go there often on a work day with my husband and the staff are always friendly, the service is good and the food is excellent.

Recommended by my vegetarian friend. Though I’m not a vegetarian myself, I have enjoyed Great food and the owner is lovely Very reasonable prices for the quality of food sold. You would pay double if you were in Manchester.

I have been visiting Freedom Organics on a regular basis since Vicky stated out on Darwen Market. Vicky provides excellent food at a great price. The food is top class and always fresh and tasty. There is a good choice each day and something different and new to try. There are plenty of fresh and dried foods to buy to take home. Vicky enjoys sharing her vegan knowledge and is never too busy to say hello and have a quick chat.

Enjoyed a hearty tasty Thai veg broth for my dinner £3.50, optional extras brown rice £0.50 and/or bread £0.50, plus an almond, vanilla and banana slice £1.80, and a chocolate cashew slice £1.80! I also bought some bits from the shop. The shop had lots to choose from including fresh organic fruit and veg, chutneys, nutritional yeast, spices. The broth was very tasty and warming. The atmosphere was lovely and the chilled music playing contributed to the relaxed atmosphere. Vicky and staff were very friendly, welcoming, chatty and happy to recommend ideas. There was a bar to sit at facing the window with 4 bar stools plus a small table with 2 chairs. The menus are posted on the Facebook page early every day. It was quite difficult to find parking available but it was worth it. Would definitely recommend it and I’ll be back!

I lived in Blackburn for 2 years and loved Sultans. My favorite is the chicken on the bone curry with 2 rottis. Love it miss it. Is Billi boy still working there? I don't think alot of people understand that iys not the aesthetics, it's the food and it's back home banging finger licking tiffin!

wonderful restaurant - imaginative food at a good price, lovely staff and classy venue - the food is modern, well prepared and inventive - a cut above the local competition - so sad it is now closed
