I called in here recently and it is now under different ownership. I had a full breakfast and a cappuccino at £9.50. And very nice it was too. Note that the breakfasts are now served only until 12 noon. This is a lovely little cafe in a delightful (and listed) building in Trowbridge. Recommended.

You know those signs you see where someone lays ridiculous claims to something being the best in town/country/world? There was one outside this place today, claiming to have the best pasties. Today it caught my attention enough that I popped in to try the goods. The Free Range Cafe won a best in category last year at the pie awards. The place smelled very inviting when I arrived as they had just baked a batch. So I went for a hot from the oven, traditional pasty. Tender chunks of chuck steak. Lashings of pepper. Packed full of root veg. It really did stand up to the claim and was just the thing to warm me back up on this damp autumn morning. I'll be back! Friends will be told too! Thank you.

Home made soup I’ve had twice, is lovely, gluten free, vegan, lots of vegan options, heartwarming foods, I believe all home made! Nice atmosphere, I did t think Trowbridge needed another cafè, this one is I hope a keeper, not the usual run of the mill, not mass produced, I like it.

Such fresh and delicious food... The quiche is the best I've ever tasted! Perfection! Plus cozy atmosphere within a stunning building, and friendly staff. Would highly recommend for a unique and high quality lunch.

Really interesting location inside this old building. (We took a look at the art exhibition upstairs before we left too.) The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We had a light lunch - my husband rated as excellent his cheese and onion pasty, which was stuffed with filling. I had some lip-smacking gravadlax with dill sauce, served with really tasty sourdough bread, cream cheese, and sliced tomato. Our coffees were good too. The other menu options sounded good so we're planning to go back again.

A real asset to Trowbridge! Great for food, and interesting range of food and drink (they stock the wonderful Kettlesmith's beer from down the road in Bradford on Avon). They do vegan stuff as well. I really liked the vegan sausage roll. It's also a really interesting building, so a good place to be.

They bake sourdough bread daily here. And serve it with sandwiches and soups. Best of all you can buy it to take out!

Rather tucked away, but well worth seeking out, not just for the amazing fresh healthy food but also the stunning location and architecture. Fabulous place for informal business meetings too. Highly recommended

This is a wonderful and unexpected cafe. It's within the grand foyer of the old Town Hall and yet manages to be both intimate and welcoming. The food is of a very high quality, reasonably priced and served with efficiency and warmth. I highly recommend it.

Delightful cafe in the new community space in Trowbridge town hall. Try the freshly hand-made pies - the veggie is to die for. The coffee is deliciously chocolatey organically-grown and fair-traded.

As we’d planned a visit to Highgrove we decided to stay in Whatley Manor as they had this restaurant, which we hadn’t previously visited. We both went for the a la carte option. It was a good choice. What made in more special was that my wife asked if they could offer a fish main course and the chef kindly offered to cook her turbot. Which is one of her absolute favourites. Big tick! As you’d expect the food was superbly cooked as well as beautifully presented. My wife said her turbot was sublime. I opted for the lobster mains. It was lobster three ways. It was just quite delightful. I’d say the best I’ve EVER had in all the Michelin starred restaurants we’ve been lucky enough to visit around the world (including in Maine). On top of that the sommelier also kindly went the extra mile with her advice, help and service. Overall it was a lovey, lovely experience.
