Fratelli Cicchetti in Central Bedfordshire

This is the second time I have been here. It's a lovely place for a celebration. Personally I wouldn't go if you want a romantic dinner especially when there is a singer or DJ. My husband and I couldn't have a conversation as it was too loud. The acoustics are awful. Recently I attended a birthday celebration. The food was fantastic and was very well organised. However the service for the bottomless brunch for the non alcoholic package was dreadful. We waited 1/2 hr for our second drink and they didn't get the order right which was highly frustrating. The group that had the alcohol package were well looked after and had several drinks lined up. Just because I don't drink alcohol doesn't mean I want to wait a very long time for my drinks. And there was a lovely selection of non alcoholic mocktails that I wanted to try. All be it it was a lovely afternoon and a good time was had by all.

Live singer was far too loud for such a small space. We couldn’t talk to each other as we couldn’t hear a thing! If you have any food intolerances then don’t bother coming here, there’s no substituting the food, just giving you the same meal without the ‘offending item’! It’s lazy!

I’m not quite sure how I haven’t done Chiccetti’s bottomless brunch before, but now I’ve experienced it, I WILL be back!! It’s fun and frolicks all the way with free flowing music and Prosecco. You feel like you’re in a night club at 2 in the afternoon!! I would like to especially mention our waitress, who name I should’ve got, but black glasses, black and white Converse (which must be worn through with the amount of running around with her Prosecco bottles she does!!). She was brilliant!! As well as never letting our glasses never get below half full and super attentive, she was such a laugh too! That perfect combo of doing her job really well as well as encouraging us all to dance and sing and have a good time!! We had a blast, thanks 🤩

We’ve been to Cicchetti a few times in the last couple of months and have been looked after by the same two young members of staff, they have been wonderful and are a great asset to your Resturant!

Pariece (apologies if i have butchered the spelling) and the manager on shift today for the brunch shift were absolutely incredible! Service with more than a smile you can tell they really love their job and care about the customers! Fab food and great drinks very quick at replenishing drinks too! Best bottomless brunch around ! 100 percent recommended

Simply fantastic food, great ambience & lovely staff, an enjoyable evening was had by all!

We have just got home from a wonderful Sunday afternoon family meal at Chichetti’s. Everything was perfect! 3 of us had a Sunday roast which was amazing! Our daughter had pizza which was spot on…as you would expect from an Italian restaurant and it didn’t disappoint! The red wine was superb (Argentinian Malbec), the roasties and gravy were lush and the beef was cooked to perfection. Service and atmosphere were great! We haven’t been out as a family for ages and today’s meal made us realise just how lovely it is to make the effort and head out. Thank you x x

Great bottomless brunch at Ciccheti’s - food and drink were brilliant. Fantastic DJ had everyone up dancing. Great staff as well who were so attentive - all in all, a really good experience. Was just a shame when it came to an end. We will be back

Visited Cicchetti for a friends Birthday Brunch. Fantastic food, service and the drinks were flowing. Also had a DJ playing great music. We will be returning.

Myself and wife booked last night on spec and got in at 9.30pm. WOW! If I could give 7 stars I would. It has been a very long time since I have visited a restaurant and they have every single aspect of the whole experience spot on, but this was achieved. Venue- As you climb stairs all sounded very quiet, however as you reach the top and open the door, we were hit with an amazing atmosphere of what was a mix of friends and families enjoying their own experience. It was a Saturday night but even so it was busy and a nice vibe. Drinks- I love a whiskey Cocktail and enjoyed one on the specials that smoked and created a beautiful aroma, also later an Old Fashioned was ordered. Both were prepared perfectly and skillfully. My wife loved both of her cocktails too. Food- Ordered meatball starter and scallop special starter followed by the two special main courses, turkey and Hake. The taste was absolutely amazing, the combinations of tastes were again put together very skillfully with great thought and presentation was also spot on. Scallops often leave me disappointed but these starters were amazing. Service- Attentive all night, friendly but professional who work well as a team to cover each other. They are a credit to the management where sadly post COVID, poor service is now often expected and sadly accepted. We both came away and reflected again this morning at what a fantastic night it was. I was just taken aback when I went to write this review that it only had a star rating of 3.5 which if we had of checked beforehand might have meant we missed out on such a great experience. I can see some reviews mention price and one mentioned atmosphere too noisy. The menu is online so think unfair to moan about expensive afterwards. If one does not want to pay high prices for high quality food in a vibrant venue, then the restaurant is probably not suitable for you. As for atmosphere many people want a modern buzzing atmosphere, it is quieter downstairs so if someone wants quiet why not book downstairs on a week night? Message is do not base your decision on current review score. Usually I find they are accurate but in this case, as the restaurant is now, it will not give you an accurate reflection. Fantastic! We just had our staff Christmas party here and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Best Christmas meal we have ever had as a company, loved it. Special mention to Sara for her helpful whiskey cocktail advice! :-D

This was our first time visiting the restaurant after it had been recommended to us by friends. We went for my birthday and had the best time! The staff were really attentive and friendly. The food was served within perfect timing, no waiting around. The food was extremely tasty and well presented. I believe the restaurant is reasonably priced for the quality of the food and overall experience. I would not hesitate to revisit this restaurant, thank you for a great meal!😊

From the moment we arrived to the end of the night, this was an elite experience. Mario and the team were terrific hosts, the food was exceptional, and the venue has a wonderful buzz. After our meal the team found a space for us in the bar which meant we could continue enjoying the great wine selection! This place definitely passes the vibe check as they say, and we’ll be back for one of the live music nights. Thank you again to the whole team!

We have been to the downstairs restaurant which was really good so we decided to try the upstairs one as somebody told me it was similar but different, more lively vibe. I assumed music when I was told lively but there was no music that I remember. It had a great atmosphere though and we had a great night. Cocktails were good and service was good. But the food was honestly out of this world and I wouldnt say that lightly. I had the mussels to start and the steak for my main. The mussel sauce tasted like heaven and the steak was perfectly cooked medium rare as I had asked for. It was melting in my mouth, tasted great and the chips were nicely seasoned (not sure what it was). Definitely cant wait to come back here! It wasnt cheap but why would it be when they are putting out flavours like that!

If I could give this less stars I would. If you plan on going for a brunch, and wish to actually talk to the people you are going with, don’t bother, you won’t be able to. I went with 4 of my friends on Saturday and unfortunately had the worst experience. I have never once complained about a restaurant before but I feel I need to. Im 31 so young and love a good time but the whole experience was ridiculous. We had a bottomless Prosecco brunch that really wasn’t bottomless, our glasses got topped up 2 times each in an hour and a half. You also could not even hold a conversation due to how ridiculously and unbelievably loud the DJ music was. If you wish to talk then don’t even bother going you will need to shout!! We asked for it to be turned down along with another table and they explained they didn’t think they would be able to. The DJ turned it down but the slightest bit still meaning we had to continue to shout….it was like being in a night club!! I complained to the restaurant and asked for a refund as they charge £36 for the Prosecco “”bottomless”” brunch (it isn’t bottomless!!!) and they added on the service charge without asking us! The restaurant refused to give me a refund and were extremely unhelpful. The manager claimed that my glass was filled up 20 times which is laughable and that they have receive fantastic feedback for their DJ which is just unbelievable- that is why I wasn’t given a refund ha!!! If you want to go to a lovely part of their chain go to fratellis but I wouldn’t bother with their brunch, overpriced, for rubbish food and leaving with a sore throat from having to shout!!

We were recommended to go here. We dressed up, drove 30 minutes to get there (and obviously 30 minutes to get home). I mention this to let you know that this wasn't just a pop out for a quick bite to eat. We made an effort. First impressions were good, the decor was nice and the waitress who greeted us was friendly. Unfortunately this is where it went downhill. From the brusqueness when we asked to change tables (who wants to sit in a corridor?) to the waiter wanting our drinks orders before we'd even picked up a menu. From the chairs that weren't wide enough to actually sit in to the complete inattention by the staff. It all went downhill pretty fast. But all of this was overshadowed by two things. First, food came out suspiciously quickly. Starters arrived within a minute or two of ordering. Our main courses came out on the return trip of the waiter clearing our starters. When I go out to dinner I want it to be an experience. I want to be able to savour the flavours that I am presented with. If I want fast food I'll go to McDonalds. And for McDonald's I wouldn't get dressed up and drive for an hour. Secondly, the acoustics in this place are terrible, to the point of painful. I don't know who decided that all restaurants needed to be hard edged but bring back curtains, acoustic ceiling tiles. anything to kill the echo. The conversations in the restaurant kept getting louder and louder until it actually hurt. To sum up, we were there for 45 minutes. To one course in 45 minutes would be fast, to have two is really unacceptable. However, with the way the noise hurt 45 minutes was too long. We didn't take any pictures of the food (which we do everywhere) and when we noticed that the service charge was on the bill automatically we didn't ask for it to be removed, so desperate were we to get out into the relative quiet of the night. I can't stress this enough, do something about the noise.

Went here for our anniversary dinner. Was served by Amelia. Absolutely amazing food and very attentive service. Will definitely be recommending and coming back here again.

Really high quality Italian restaurant. The wild mushroom starter and arancini are particularly good. Favourite main is the sumptuous Mafaldine cicchetti- a creamy chicken pasta with truffle. We love to take friends here. The evenings which feature a live singer are fantastic- what a great atmosphere and crowd every time. Joe Corrigan and Kirsty are our favourites!

Great food, great atmosphere, great decor, great staff. Been to Fratelli's downstairs several times, and the food has always been top draw. This time tried their upstairs restaurant for a work outing. Fabulous.

A stylish Italian restaurant, with delicious authentic Italian food. Fresh and well prepared, you can chose among many menu options, I had the zucchini fritti, calamari and sea bass, all where cooked to perfection. The restaurant is stylish with an open bar, service is also exceptional, staff are so friendly with the guests and always take care to offer the best! Great attention to detail throughout, from the cutlery to very comfortable seating. I highly recommend Fratelli Cicchetti.

Lovely food overall (although my lamb cutlets were extremely small and quite fatty which was a shame as everything else was delicious). Great service and good atmosphere in the restaurant. Wide choice of food. The main problem was the very loud live singer and guitar player about 15 feet away from us - we literally couldn’t hear ourselves speak. A shame as I would hesitate to return if there was live music. The acoustics are not great anyway in Cicchettis or Fratellis and the addition of very loud music made it practically impossible to hear each other.

It was all a bit of nightmare to start with I had thought I had booked Cicchetti but on arrival it turns out I had booked downstairs (Fratellis) and so thats the trouble doing it on your phone using internet browser. Anyway they were happy to move a few bookings around to accommodate us as long as we were only 2 hours. There were 4 of us dining. The young waiter and waitress were very polite and helpful. The choice of starters were limited with only 1 being gluten free however they were beautifully presented and very tasty. We opted for the traditional sunday roast beef which was cooked to perfection. The flavour of the savoy cabbage was to die for as well as the crispy roasts and carrots, the parnsip was a little undercooked, now I prefer parsnips to potatoes and I like them crispy and chewy but it was a delicious roast dinner and one where I would choose to eat again. This bit may be my age at a a young 51, the place was quite empy when we first arrived but come 215 it was so noisy, just like downstairs which I thought was down to the acoustics within an industrial building but it was kind of like being in Pizza express with the noise level, it was hard to hear my friends conversation. BUT it wont put me off I just make book earlier than 115 next time hoping that its less noisy but the food is good very good

Woken up today still wondering how a restaurant serving a main course for £35 can serve you a Bailey's without ice. Truly awful service - drinks were forgotten multiple times, our waitress was rude and spent the whole evening acting like she'd rather be at home watching Strictly.

We went along to cicchetti on the Thursday evening 50% discount. The eat to help scheme which was the £10 off per person. You know when you pay your bill but feel something is wrong. I later looked on line at the menu and added up the prices and found I had been over charged by £10. Unfortunately I didn’t pick up the receipt and paid cash. I have no proof. But I thought nice family restaurant I’ll contact them by email and after a few days I received a copy of the receipt which showed less than I paid. I’ve not heard anything back from them. I know restaurants have had a hard year but I live by the policy honesty is the best policy. This is not the way to win back customers and they have now lost us a customer.

Went for a catch up with friends. The food and service are both good. However having paid just shy of £60 for a starter, main and two drinks I feel it’s over priced for the experience.

We were told that the place to eat a Sunday Carvery was Cicchetti, so we booked. Their Covid measures were top notch, unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the food. We were a party of 4, three of us ordered the carver and one...

First visit Sunday Lunch. Nice modern contemporary surroundings. Very pleasant staff. Restaurant spotlessly clean as were the restroom. Lovely starter and the chicken roast well cooked and very tasty, not your normal bland roast. Presented very well. Highly recommend.
