Fratelli Cicchetti in Central Bedfordshire

We have just got home from a wonderful Sunday afternoon family meal at Chichetti’s. Everything was perfect! 3 of us had a Sunday roast which was amazing! Our daughter had pizza which was spot on…as you would expect from an Italian restaurant and it didn’t disappoint! The red wine was superb (Argentinian Malbec), the roasties and gravy were lush and the beef was cooked to perfection. Service and atmosphere were great! We haven’t been out as a family for ages and today’s meal made us realise just how lovely it is to make the effort and head out. Thank you x x

Great bottomless brunch at Ciccheti’s - food and drink were brilliant. Fantastic DJ had everyone up dancing. Great staff as well who were so attentive - all in all, a really good experience. Was just a shame when it came to an end. We will be back

Thankyou Fratelli Cicchetti for such an amazing night last night celebrating my best friends 50th birthday.The singer Cameo was absolutely fantastic.Such a great atmosphere in there and the food was absolutely amazing.A big thanks to the waiters Jayden and Owen who looked after us last night an absolute credit to you.👏👏👏❤️

Visited Cicchetti for a friends Birthday Brunch. Fantastic food, service and the drinks were flowing. Also had a DJ playing great music. We will be returning.

Myself and wife booked last night on spec and got in at 9.30pm. WOW! If I could give 7 stars I would. It has been a very long time since I have visited a restaurant and they have every single aspect of the whole experience spot on, but this was achieved. Venue- As you climb stairs all sounded very quiet, however as you reach the top and open the door, we were hit with an amazing atmosphere of what was a mix of friends and families enjoying their own experience. It was a Saturday night but even so it was busy and a nice vibe. Drinks- I love a whiskey Cocktail and enjoyed one on the specials that smoked and created a beautiful aroma, also later an Old Fashioned was ordered. Both were prepared perfectly and skillfully. My wife loved both of her cocktails too. Food- Ordered meatball starter and scallop special starter followed by the two special main courses, turkey and Hake. The taste was absolutely amazing, the combinations of tastes were again put together very skillfully with great thought and presentation was also spot on. Scallops often leave me disappointed but these starters were amazing. Service- Attentive all night, friendly but professional who work well as a team to cover each other. They are a credit to the management where sadly post COVID, poor service is now often expected and sadly accepted. We both came away and reflected again this morning at what a fantastic night it was. I was just taken aback when I went to write this review that it only had a star rating of 3.5 which if we had of checked beforehand might have meant we missed out on such a great experience. I can see some reviews mention price and one mentioned atmosphere too noisy. The menu is online so think unfair to moan about expensive afterwards. If one does not want to pay high prices for high quality food in a vibrant venue, then the restaurant is probably not suitable for you. As for atmosphere many people want a modern buzzing atmosphere, it is quieter downstairs so if someone wants quiet why not book downstairs on a week night? Message is do not base your decision on current review score. Usually I find they are accurate but in this case, as the restaurant is now, it will not give you an accurate reflection. This was our first time visiting the restaurant after it had been recommended to us by friends. We went for my birthday and had the best time! The staff were really attentive and friendly. The food was served within perfect timing, no waiting around. The food was extremely tasty and well presented. I believe the restaurant is reasonably priced for the quality of the food and overall experience. I would not hesitate to revisit this restaurant, thank you for a great meal!😊

We have been to the downstairs restaurant which was really good so we decided to try the upstairs one as somebody told me it was similar but different, more lively vibe. I assumed music when I was told lively but there was no music that I remember. It had a great atmosphere though and we had a great night. Cocktails were good and service was good. But the food was honestly out of this world and I wouldnt say that lightly. I had the mussels to start and the steak for my main. The mussel sauce tasted like heaven and the steak was perfectly cooked medium rare as I had asked for. It was melting in my mouth, tasted great and the chips were nicely seasoned (not sure what it was). Definitely cant wait to come back here! It wasnt cheap but why would it be when they are putting out flavours like that!

If I could give this less stars I would. If you plan on going for a brunch, and wish to actually talk to the people you are going with, don’t bother, you won’t be able to. I went with 4 of my friends on Saturday and unfortunately had the worst experience. I have never once complained about a restaurant before but I feel I need to. Im 31 so young and love a good time but the whole experience was ridiculous. We had a bottomless Prosecco brunch that really wasn’t bottomless, our glasses got topped up 2 times each in an hour and a half. You also could not even hold a conversation due to how ridiculously and unbelievably loud the DJ music was. If you wish to talk then don’t even bother going you will need to shout!! We asked for it to be turned down along with another table and they explained they didn’t think they would be able to. The DJ turned it down but the slightest bit still meaning we had to continue to shout….it was like being in a night club!! I complained to the restaurant and asked for a refund as they charge £36 for the Prosecco “”bottomless”” brunch (it isn’t bottomless!!!) and they added on the service charge without asking us! The restaurant refused to give me a refund and were extremely unhelpful. The manager claimed that my glass was filled up 20 times which is laughable and that they have receive fantastic feedback for their DJ which is just unbelievable- that is why I wasn’t given a refund ha!!! If you want to go to a lovely part of their chain go to fratellis but I wouldn’t bother with their brunch, overpriced, for rubbish food and leaving with a sore throat from having to shout!!

Went here for our anniversary dinner. Was served by Amelia. Absolutely amazing food and very attentive service. Will definitely be recommending and coming back here again.

Lovely food overall (although my lamb cutlets were extremely small and quite fatty which was a shame as everything else was delicious). Great service and good atmosphere in the restaurant. Wide choice of food. The main problem was the very loud live singer and guitar player about 15 feet away from us - we literally couldn’t hear ourselves speak. A shame as I would hesitate to return if there was live music. The acoustics are not great anyway in Cicchettis or Fratellis and the addition of very loud music made it practically impossible to hear each other.

It was all a bit of nightmare to start with I had thought I had booked Cicchetti but on arrival it turns out I had booked downstairs (Fratellis) and so thats the trouble doing it on your phone using internet browser. Anyway they were happy to move a few bookings around to accommodate us as long as we were only 2 hours. There were 4 of us dining. The young waiter and waitress were very polite and helpful. The choice of starters were limited with only 1 being gluten free however they were beautifully presented and very tasty. We opted for the traditional sunday roast beef which was cooked to perfection. The flavour of the savoy cabbage was to die for as well as the crispy roasts and carrots, the parnsip was a little undercooked, now I prefer parsnips to potatoes and I like them crispy and chewy but it was a delicious roast dinner and one where I would choose to eat again. This bit may be my age at a a young 51, the place was quite empy when we first arrived but come 215 it was so noisy, just like downstairs which I thought was down to the acoustics within an industrial building but it was kind of like being in Pizza express with the noise level, it was hard to hear my friends conversation. BUT it wont put me off I just make book earlier than 115 next time hoping that its less noisy but the food is good very good

Woken up today still wondering how a restaurant serving a main course for £35 can serve you a Bailey's without ice. Truly awful service - drinks were forgotten multiple times, our waitress was rude and spent the whole evening acting like she'd rather be at home watching Strictly.

We went along to cicchetti on the Thursday evening 50% discount. The eat to help scheme which was the £10 off per person. You know when you pay your bill but feel something is wrong. I later looked on line at the menu and added up the prices and found I had been over charged by £10. Unfortunately I didn’t pick up the receipt and paid cash. I have no proof. But I thought nice family restaurant I’ll contact them by email and after a few days I received a copy of the receipt which showed less than I paid. I’ve not heard anything back from them. I know restaurants have had a hard year but I live by the policy honesty is the best policy. This is not the way to win back customers and they have now lost us a customer.

Went for a catch up with friends. The food and service are both good. However having paid just shy of £60 for a starter, main and two drinks I feel it’s over priced for the experience.
