Franky and Benny's in Birmingham

So everyone is aware this Frankie and bennys is not open. I was hoping to use this restaurant in the coming months. But found out, by phoning the telephone number for Frankie and bennys on Google. Very disappointing, as it’s not stated anywhere else.

Dreadful meal at this establishment, airport authority need to review how it choses and monitors food franchises. Spaghetti and meatballs consisted of slimy overcooked pasta, uncooked tinned tomatoes and 5 meatballs, 3 of which were rock hard. Least said about a greasy chicken burger, flat coke and cold chips the better. Service was poor and worse indifferent to my complaint about the food quality. Tbh, the premises, bottles if condiments, menus etc. all looked tired and grubby. A poor reflection on the airport.

Lady who seated people helpful and friendly, the. You just sit there waiting for someone to decide to take your order. When food came, corn on the cob was stone cold from the fridge without even an attempt to heat it. Took five minutes to get a member of staff to return it to the kitchen, 10 minutes later after the remainder of the meal was eaten someone came and asked how my meal was and then asked if I would still like the corn!

Birmingham airport. Totally rubbish! I was meeting my husband there, he had ordered. Despite plenty of staff and few customers I eventually had to go and find someone at the bar to get me a drink. We both wanted another drink but gave up and waited at the bar for ages to pay for the drink I had (husband had paid for his) . They had no idea what was going on, tried to charge us for someone else’s breakfast too! Left disappointed and cross. Never again!

Restaurant very quiet but service was terrible as staff preferred to stand chatting rather than acknowledging me when I arrived or taking my order. When the food did arrive it was average at best. There aren’t many options to eat at the airport but I would recommend this one.

Came to Frankie & Benny’s in the hopes of grabbing some breakfast to start a long day at the airport however, although it says they’re open today from 4am to 10pm, it’s now 7am with seemingly no hope of them opening anytime soon? No signs or anything to say why they’re closed so a bit rubbish, least they have comfyish seats! :/

I wished to sit inside the restaurant, and staff member in charge said she was short staffed and I could only sit outside. She let me walk away and couldn’t care less, in fact she was happy because it meant less work for her. Restaurant doesn’t appear to want to retain customers during a financial crisis.

Came in for food today, (breakfast) unfortunately I didn’t like some of the items that came in the set menu, I spoke to the waitress and she said I could swap them with extra of the other items that I liked. I wasn’t disappointed, the breakfast was great, very filling and at a reasonable price too. Will definitely be back again soon.

My partner and I visited F&B in Rubery, Birmingham and we had a surprise, the young man that waited on our table was attentive, polite and very Courteous (Matt was his name), the food was very good and arrived to our table very hot, I will certainly be visiting again, in the not too distant future.

Good to see F&B's open again in the airport food court after a long closure, due of course to recent circumstances. Visited with a colleague at Friday lunchtime during a break from a charity collection at Birmingham International Station. The menu has changed somewhat in the intervening period, with omelettes sadly no longer available, and all the staff are, as expected, new. We got the impression the place had only just reopened and staff were "bedding in", however we were immediately shown to a table, were given a menu and were left alone for an appropriate time in order to choose what we wanted. We opted for nothing fancy - a Peroni Libera (0% alcohol and very refreshing on what was a very hot day), a Diet Coke (bottle, tastier than from the pump, we were assured) and two veggie breakfasts, one with a fried egg, one with scrambled. Very tasty, well cooked and a full plate. Total cost was £29.20, acceptable for an airport. Staff were pleasant and chatty throughout, we weren't rushed, even though the airport was heaving (F&B's is a great place to people watch!), hence 5*.

Firstly the bar stools were far too high for me, luckily I found another which I managed to clamber up on to. I’ve never been comfortable with bar stools since I fell backwards … from one on my 18th. What happened to the old crooner music they used to play? I was forced to listen to Abba! My red wine wasn’t pleasant at all, & it ain’t cheap either. MrDW had cider so of course he was in his element. Although there was a really pleasant girl in there who took time to speak to us, she would get 5*.

Visited this F&B travelling home after a weekend in Leicester. Upon arrival all seemed well, the restaurant was not too busy and we were promptly brought to our seats. After sitting down this is where things started to go wrong. The first server started to list off all of the items not available on todays menu. They would have been quicker telling us what was available. 20 mins later and nobody had returned to take our order, when I did ask the original server if she could take our order she said she would send someone over. Another 5 mins later and someone was finally able to take our order but another problem arose. The large list of unavailable items had grown. We just ordered what we could and thanked our server. We then noticed some things going wrong around us. One gentlemen had to send his beer back twice as it was “off”. An elderly couple left really quite annoyed as the order they had placed could not be filled as there was not enough stock. I could hear them saying they waited for 30 mins. There was also a growing queue at the front of the restaurant with prospective patrons peering around looking for a friendly face to help them to a seat…..where were all the staff, running around trying to help other customers you say..? Nope! All standing around at the bar having a laugh with each other. We actually had to watch this behind our hands it was just so embarrassing for them. Our food arrives, my meal is a chicken dish, it’s meant to come with fries and onion rings. No onion rings on the plate so I ask the server where they are. “Oh sorry we don’t have any”. But was never told this upon ordering and when the server explained they had none is was with an unapologetic tone. Another 30 mins of watching the staff ignore their patrons and eventually we ask for the bill. 5 staff members including a supervisor/manager all standing in one location, I ask for the bill and they all just look at each other wondering who will get it. The sheer laziness of the staff was appealing. Nobody asked how our food was, nobody came to refill our drinks. Poor service from start to finish. Will never return. Management need to train their staff properly. From reading other reviews it seems to be a long standing issue that hasn’t been addressed. Only a matter of time before this location is shut down if the issues are not addressed.

My family of 15 visited this restaurant before we flew out, the service was fast and food was great freshly made pizza and great kids meals, I would definitely recommend this restaurant before you fly,

Food was barely cooked, ordered a pot of tea ended up having to find someone to help with some milk. Pizza was equivalent of a Tesco £2.00 pizza and charge £15.00 for it - better off going to one of the other restaurants across the way from it. Dont waste your money!

The menu said steak. That was not available. So we opted for the fish on offer. That was not available either. And that at 5pm at an airport! So we both opted for pizzas. Mine was served within a reasonable time. The waitress assured us that the second pizza would be served immediately. As it should be, I wanted to wait until my colleague was also served. After 10 minutes, my colleague went to the buffet to ask for his pizza. The answer was that the order had been forgotten. So we decided to share my pizza, which had cooled down in the meantime, until his arrived. After another 10 minutes, we were able to share his pizza as well. The restaurant was about a quarter full. So this poor service cannot be attributed to staff overload. Moreover, such a mishap should have been noticed by the staff without our intervention.
