I ordered English breakfast. He brought a very cold bread with lots of butter on top. Some of the butter was brown!. I said this bread is so cold!he said you should have asked for toast. I said, ok. Please bring toast!. He brought a very cold brown slice of bread!!, i said it is cold! How could you toast cold?!?, then he brought a warm toast!!. Sausages didn't taste good!. It was one the worst break fast which i had in London.

Clearly a family business, the lads were busy, but courteous and attentive. I had a takeway bacon and egg sandwich, and a coffee which was as I'd expected it to be, and great value. I'll definitely be back for a full English when I have more time.

I went here for coffee as I was waiting for my train. The guy owner himself was ok and pleasant but his mother is so miserable, she doesn’t smile but just stares at you and gives you dirty looks. Her vibe is not good at all, she’s very rude and abrupt. The place itself is dirty, old looking and needs updating. I sat drinking my coffee and as I was leaving, the owner’s mother started shouting at me rudely saying that I have to throw the sugar sachets and the wooden stick mixer in the bin, not leaving it on the table! I did what she said and cannot believe I didn’t say anything back to her which I should have. I have been to a lot of cafés and never have I ever had anyone saying or shouting at me about leaving stuff on the table! So what does that mean if people came here for full English breakfasts, does it mean that they have to take their plates and mugs to the counter table and not allowed to leave it on the table they sat? Ridiculous, even going to fast food places like McDonald’s and KFC, people leave their stuff on the table they sat and never get told off about it. Even so she should have said it politely, it’s not about what people say, it’s about how they say it. I don’t recommend this cafe and will never go back, plenty of other cafes to go to where the staff/owner are friendly and polite, avoid this place.

What a gem to find unexpectedly and whilst in a rush in this part of town. From the moment we walked in and from the moment we left, the service was spot on, not overly in your face but brisk and efficient, we both had fry-ups made to order and served with no fuss and delicious. It felt very much like they were a family run cafe like from back in the days, glad to see places like still exist as my partner said overall it was bangin’ Overall great quality and value for money and bit of authentic London experience.

Typical English Cafe menu and lots of it. Chips come with almost anything. All day breakfast with 5 choices + toast + coffee/tea was a really good deal. Family run and very casual. Just what we wanted.

We had our Airbnb located just across the street and decided to give this little cafe a try for breakfast! The staff was excellent and very friendly, the food was the traditional typical English breakfast in big portions! You will definitely get your fill for breakfast and you will also get that local feel of a English diner which was also reasonably priced. Our vegetarian friend also was happy, so it comes recommended from a meat eater like me and my healthy vegetarian buddy. Check it out!

I ordered a slightly bigger than normal sized breakfast, and was greeted with a mountain of, this is not a cafe for the gourmet pallet, but if you want good prices and a very full stomach, this is perfect. The staff are attentive, and as it has been open 61 years and after speaking to the manager finding its a family run business, its rare, but fantastic to eat in a historic place like FRANKS CAFE!!

We were served overpriced and under seasoned hummus and pitta (£5).The pitta offering was pitiful. We asked for more bread. The bar tender mocked us and tried to charge money for a slice of bread. He offered us a spoon instead. A spoon!!! Resilient and undeterred, we pleaded again for just once alive of bread. The bar tender doubled the price and twisted his mouth into a malicious smirk as we stood before him, hungry. There was hummus hummus everywhere and not a slice of complementary bread! To further heighten the torment, the couple next to us ordered the aforementioned overpriced hummus and pita and they were afforded no less that 3 slices of bread.#peasants #Oliver #Cruelcruelworld

We went to Franks on a Friday night in July. It was packed but we were lucky and so got a table (you can't order food if you're not sitting down and it's first come, first served). The drinks were ok, the food was ok, and the whole thing was ok...it just felt a bit like being in a student bar (ageing picnic tables with benches).I had tomatoes on toast and hummus and it was £13.50 - it was filling but not especially tasty. There were a few hundred people - some sitting around the edges of what is quite obviously a car park. The view of the London skyline was lovely.

This little gem of a greasy spoon was a complete salvation for me as the only other place close by offering breakfast was an "arts cafe/space" that offered cakes and pastries...being diabetic I needed some decent protein so a sausage, egg and beans breakfast it was!Cheap and cheerful full English breakfast foods are served by a friendly and obliging family team. They'll cook it exactly how you like it too, checking how runny you like your egg and how strong you like your tea!Even on busy London Marathon day they gave efficient service with a smile and every day I visited (3 times) I was warmly greeted like a regular.

When you're about to go to the Tate Modern, you have to come here. No ifs. No buts. It's a true old style greasy spoon, that has been there for the better part of half a century (I understand that the original Frank is the current owner's grand/father - details vary). You know it's good because this isn't a caf-ay - it's a caff. The ratio of gentlemen in hi-vis yellow jackets is high, because there is one thing that the construction trade does perfectly and that's locate the best greasy spoons. The chaps and chapesses behind the counter dispense good manners (and for you, sir? Anything else sir? Why don't you take a seat, sir?) and epic breakfasts at an unbelievably high rate. The tea is incredibly strong, which I love, while My Lovely Companion spoke positively of the coffee. Prices are very reasonable. The tables and benches fit neatly into the back of the single room, and are made of good ol' fashioned melamine! The clientele are loud and good natured and pleasant and have exquisite manners, too. And if that surprises you, then you don't know London builders. The loo...is a little cramped and not fabulous, but you can always wait and go in the Tate instead. I would say that this is one of the best restaurants of its' sort in London, and I have been to a few over the past 17 years. Unmissable. Try it before the place gets bought by some ghastly chain of coffee shops and vanishes forever.

Food is great, stuff is friendly...This is an authentic cafe with formica table that are disappearing in London. It's run by an Italian family the same family since 1965.
