Brilliant meal, just before our London trip

Came to visit for lunch and was not disappointed had the pea and ham soup to start and the Cajun chicken couldn’t find any faults. Top marks

Advertising to go to the food bit and go to ewt but then go in and its locked so go into bar and ask “is it open” “no the tills shut..” Why advertise then?

Food was lovely and staff very nice definitely would recommend this place

Great pub, great staff, great experience.

Sadly it didn’t live up to expectations. The lounge was so cold we couldn’t take off our jackets, the food wasn’t much warmer. The steak pie was nice but the Pepper corn chicken really wasn’t. The lounge was busy, about 20 people waiting to eat & with only 1 person serving that really took some time. Let’s hope the previous chef Billy comes back!

Had a very enjoyable Karaoke night here, Food was phenomenal as was the drink and at a reasonable prices. I hear they are under new management and it shows. Will definitely be back soon.

Nice place, was bored sitting in the house and took a notion for curry and remembered I'd been there before years before and had the steak pie which was amazing to be honest but I got the chicken curry with rice this time and wasn't disappointed, really tasty and a good portion as well, so good food and a lovely ice cold beer to wash it down, so 10/10 from this happy customer

Always a great atmosphere. Nice staff and a great pint and lunch is excellent.

Food was fantastic, service was fantastic. Just one problem. The portions are massive and I mean massive. Please half the size of them. I was pretty much stuffed after my chicken soup. (Amazing chicken soup) Please please please reduce the portion size

Lovely place to eat!! Service was top notch , the chef very friendly and polite. Me and my other half had soup of the day (chicken) mozzarella sticks, spicy chicken burger and the ribeye steak, great portions for the money, and very tasty. Definitely will be back, and recommend Franklin's Bar. Well deserved 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

I visited today food was good sat at the front with my daughter and my husband shame about the staff in the back constantly swearing and as a customer can hear every word very unprofessional especially as this is meant to be a place where families come with young children wouldn't go back

In for dinner and it was great , always made welcome and the dinner is great in both portion size and value .

A friendly bar, lovely staff and a welcoming atmosphere. It can get very busy and somewhat rowdy at weekends. The drinks are reasonably priced although they offer quite a limited selection. The beer garden looks lovely, more decking than garden but a sun trap location. We did not try the food but the menu looked good and again, reasonably priced. Not much for the vegetarian.

Chicken fajitas the best, and steak pie is delicious. Perfection 👌

Not a very friendly pub, no atmosphere,not a good choice of beers, and was expensive as well. barmaids are very dour, not a pleasant experience.

9 of us for boxing day dinner, everyone left stuffed and happy, all you can ask for really. Food was great l. Staff were very friendly and good with the little ones. Highly recommend

Not nice. Only went to get a bus pick up at 5:30pm for another venue, toilets hadn't been attended to & the one vodka I had was tasteless.

I popped into Franklyn's with my mum, midweek, for an impromptu lunch. There is a 2 course deal lunch menu, but as I'm a vegan, I had to order a la carte. I chose vegetable fajitas without sour cream or cheese. My mum had steak pie and a dessert. Lisa served us. She is friendly and quick. A couple were sat nearby with a toddler who had lots of food allergies. The mum was struggling with what to order her child. Lisa asked about her allergies then got the chef to come from the kitchen to discuss what he could specially make for her. Such amazing service to go to those lengths! When my food came, there was so much of it! I think there was 4 large tortilla wraps and a big sizzling pan of freshly cooked Mediterranean vegetables, not too spicy, as I'd asked. My mum loved her steak pie, choice of potatoes with veg. The chef is very good and, supported by Lisa serving, they make a great team. I wouldn't hesitate to go back. My mum is keen to book her Christmas dinner there!

WOW I eat out a lot franklyns restaurant bar is a great find. The food is tremendous and it is presented well the chef is genius and the waiting staff are welcoming and friendly. They deserve more than 5 stars. I will recommend franklyns to everyone I know.

The food and staff are first class

I visited Franklyns in December with a friend. Meal was wonderful and well presented. Downfall was no disabled toilet. There was no sign specifying that there was no toilet downstairs. My friend who has difficulty in walking had to go to the bookies next door. Please put a sign up to let people know. Franklyns would benefit with a toilet in the restaurant downstairs. Otherwise the meal was lovely. The surroundings enjoyable.

Food is excellent (especially the steak pie) and only costs £10 for 2. Lager is also cheap at £2 per pint (Mon - Thu). Great pool table too.
