Frankie's Fish and Pizza Shack in Dundee City

Disappointed when I got home and found they'd given me a second portion of chips instead of the fritters I ordered. Phoned them up and they offered to deliver my fritters to my home address. They were very apologetic and even let me keep the extra chips I hadn't ordered. Fritters arrived 20 minutes later. Very impressed with their customer service.

I was hoping to be writing a positive review about this place but sadly cannot do so based on tonight's experience. My wife had Fish Cake and Chips which she said was ok. I had a Fish Supper which was sadly not ok. The Fish was dry and overcooked, the batter was soggy inside, and the Fish contained within was tiny, given the cost. The chips were ok and plentiful , the.food was hot The lady who served us was polite. But Fish and Chips should be better than this.

Absolutely disgusting, chips were stone cold, Smoked Sausage barely warm, their only saving grace was the friendly staff but avoid ordering from there

Worst fish and chips ever. The batter was thicker than the fish. Serving staff even admitted that the fryers didn’t know what they are doing Avoid at all costs.

Outrageously expensive for delivery. A rip off in fact. Far to expensive. More expensive than most places by far

Heard good things, so we tried Frankies for delivery. Order was late, food was cold and tasteless. Soggy chops and scampi. Awful batter. Won't be using g the place again..

My my my do some of the other reviews have this place wrong! We took what we thought was quite a gamble with Frankie's and that gamble paid off. We opted for the 16 inch pepperoni pizza and let me paint a picture for you... as the lid of the box was opened my eyes were met with a piping hot pepperoni pizza perfectly circular, cut to perfection with visibly high quality ingredients. The base was light with a beautiful springy crust. Not stodgy at all and I don't feel awful like after a Domino's. The pepperoni was top tier and the tomato sauce was simple but effective. It was delivered with speed and the cost all in was just £15.99. Tell me somewhere else that you can get a 16 inch pizza delivered to your door for that price. I'll wait. Don't sleep on this place. You'd be a god damn fool to do so. Just like the terminator, I'll be back

Had the misfortune to visit this fish & chip shop after picking my car up at a local car garage. Waited 20 minutes for a substandard hamburger with soggy batter and a handful of lookwarm chips for a pricy sum of £6.35, well overpriced for what you get. Also £3.60 for a soggy battered single white pudding just topped it off. Would never visit this place again. The guys running the place would give the chuckle brothers a run for their money, totally clueless on how to run a chip shop.

Good service pleasant staff pity fish did not match,fish was not fresh fried must have sat for more than half an hour, fish was one and a half pleces broken into three bits.Fish was of poor quality and very thin.Overall fish suppers generally in most takeaways have detereated. Longtime till I try another.

It’s about time the staff in the take away we’re taught some customer service. I waited tpnight around 5 mins while they were discussing another colleague Also used to be given paper bag free. Now being charged 20pence Ridiculous amount to pay for a bag advertising their take away

Used once before this visit and was impressed. Drove from Longforgan to collect and was very disappointed this last visit. Which will indeed be my last. The chips were good but the fish wafer thin and smelly. Definitely NOT fresh! So bad it went in the bin. Hope you improve for your next customer.

A large order ranging from Fish and chips to kebabs and pizza. Having previously enjoyed the lovely pizza here before. I decided to try the fish and chips due to the claims on the website of light and crispy batter. I was however extremely disappointed to be faced with a small skinny slip of fish coated in a slimy batter on top of soggy chips as was the other person having the same. Though to be fair as a part of a large order the fish suppers may have been sitting for a while hence the reason for being soggy. This doesn’t excuse the size of the fish which has absolutely no reflection on the price of the fish supper. Others enjoyed their pizza, calzone and kebab and I can definitely recommend those just don’t waste your money on the fish supper.

We have used Frankies a lot over the last few years due to the choice and it was good value for money. However the last few times we have had various foods we have been deeply disappointed. A few months back we had pizza and I found a metal shard in my pizza which looked like it was from a tin. I should have complained but due to having many other good meals I decided that it was a one off and accidents happen. We have used the online system to order food for collection thinking that this would save time standing in a que but quite often the food isn't even ready for collection and you still have to stand there (there is not a separate collection que) to verbally say what you have ordered online for them to make it. Due to this I used the online system to try the delivery, I ordered a takeaway at 1715 using the online booking, I choose the time 1820 and received an email to confirm the order. It wasn't until 1820 when I looked at the email, they had changed the time to 1905 without me knowing. When 1915 arrived, I phoned them to be told they had been busy and the food was on its way. When the food arrived it was freezing cold and the fish was tasteless. Very disappointed. For all the reasons mentioned we will not be using Frankies again, sorry.

Again we have just had a lovely takeaway which was delivered on time. Fish and chips were great. Crispy batter and fresh fish. Kids had pizza which was all eaten. Great value for money

Great staff, food is always cooked fresh no hard rubbery fish here they have pizza, ice cream,lots of choices.

They do the best chips in Dundee, but fish could be fresher... I am very fussy about the freshness of haddock and how it's cooked (most chippy's overcook fish).
