Had a family meal for my granddaughter's birthday and the food was excellent, our waitress was lovely and the whole atmosphere was brilliant.

we love this place.the food and staff are exceptional they are so helpful nothing is too much trouble.such a shame they are closing for good we will miss it. we wish all the staff all the very best in their new employment . Mrs Irene Whittle.

Nice food, but a bit of a wait. It was a little bit expensive but as l don't go there that often didn't matter

Very cosy, but sadly didn't have available the only vegan food on the menu! It was a disappointment. I wish I had phoned to check before visiting. Thinking if should give them another chance?

Me and My partner LOVE this place. We get the same thing every time, our bill usually comes to £32. I’m vegetarian, getting the starter Vegan BBQ jackfruit wings with the side dish of Hot Lava Fries. The wings you only get 3 but, I’d say are well worth the price as they are so delish. The loaded fries are covered with a very realistic vegan cheese sauce and saracha sauce, very well seasoned and always well cooked. My partner usually gets the bacon potato skins which he always says are creamy and very tasty along with the buffalo chicken fries, covered in a spicy cheesy sauce with crispy fried chicken pieces. 10/10 always on food. The service is always fast, and all the servers are attentive, smiley and polite. A go to for us, despite the fact we have to travel a little to get there.

Overall good. Could make tweeks to make it better. Food OK. I had the Festive Burger , very good.

Not enough staff at lunchtime. Nearly left after waiting over an hour for the main. Wasn't the staff's fault, this is poorly managed. Deliveroo and the likes getting orders out on the road before those eating in.

Really nice meal today. Really good team as well, Jamie and Mya were excellent!

Really good food and really friendly staff

Lush breakfast, good table service

After starters which where nice, change in staff had to wait ages for 5meals. 2 meals cold, 1 meal burnt, really simply not worth the money. Bill adjusted but that cannot compensate for a ruined birthday meal. Never again!!!!! I can't recommend, we ate as we where starving, but we only got our meal after reminding staff we had nothing to eat.

Tried numerous times to book on-line.... table for 8...on a Monday... system continuously stalled...this restaurant doesn't want family bookings on line... I believe they must set a number block on a party. I'll book somewhere else.

Family-friendly atmosphere, great staff, very friendly and very helpful. Had the garlic bread pizza appetizer, and chicken parmasian, also had the bolognese pasta. All were very good. Will be back.

Nice enough place. Plenty of parking. We were seated quite quickly. Our waitress was nice and all were happy to help with with any special requests with the meals. Food was good - it's quite pricey (around £16 per plate) but 2for1 deals make it much better value. We would defo go back, but aim for deal days!

Fiod can be a bit hut and miss but this particular day it was great.

I love, love, love F &B's. My partner teases me about this all the time. Food is awesome,Service is always excellent and the ambience is cool. A great place to be with family, friends, or by yourself to have a great meal(s)!

Edit: dropped the star rating, got in at 5 to beat the rush, over 40mins later and no sign of food. Were given the excuse that there were two large orders before us 🤷‍♂️.Will think twice next time if we’re going to come with kids and hungry tummies Previous: Lovely dinner with the kids for mother in-law's birthday. Staff were accommodating for a wheelchair as well as a highchair and sat us somewhere quieter. Food came quickly, tasted good and we were able to pay using their app. Great experience.

Frankie & Benny’s is aggressively mediocre in all honesty. The food is unremarkable (though portion sizes are good) in taste and in price, as is the decor. Drinks are surprisingly expensive. At least once your meal will be interrupted by them blasting birthday music through the speakers for twenty seconds.

Never been here b4 . Food was very good. Millie our sever was excellent. Couldnt fault anything.

We've been here twice. First time the service was pretty slow but the food was good. Second time we went was on the Kings birthday. There is one guy who works there that is great, he's friendly and polite. However, there were 2 other members of staff there that I think were management and they were so lazy. The blonde lady and her colleague, a smaller man just stood at the food pass area, not doing anything. When food came our poor guy had to run it! Not only was he running food, he was seating tables and taking food orders. The service again was slow, we had to send one dish back and it was inedible due to the fact that they overcooked the bread bun in the microwave! Not the best experience, however we did leave a cash tip just the guy who served us, I hope he got it?!

Poor food, inconsistent, no customer service.

Carbonara wasn't as hot as it could be. Garlic bread was piping hot. Father's Day so lots of noisy children. Waitresses were perfect.

We popped in from gt101 to get breakfast as this was the closest place, staff were really friendly, brekky was nice well done bacon which I like, place was nice and clean.

Edit. Been again, was good service, tasty food, its better than it use to be in my opinion. Use to eat here a lot, mostly breakfast... hadn't been in ages. Wasn't expecting much, especially from the main meals. But went for dinner tonight and it was very tasty... took a couple of pics to show food but yeah, the burger tasted like a good quality burger, fries were yummy and not soaked in fat or anything, garlic bread with mozzarella was amazing. Pudding was good but forgot to take a pic and was so stuffed by then. Had a soft passionfruit martini, that was pretty good too. Service was great, the restaurant looked clean etc. Great experience 👍🏻

Visited after a long time. Food quality was better but prices have increased too. Serivce was slow. Waited almost 45 mins to get food and 15 mins to get a repeat drink.

Sat there for an hour an 20 minutes without anyone letting us know where our food was. When we asked to leave and just pay for our drinks they didn’t have a clue what was going on

Very tasty food and reasonably priced except for some drinks. £8 for a glass of wine. Very comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff.

Came for lunch Friday 28th. Was looked after by mandy, she was very polite and helpful as we have allergies. Great value for money will definitely be back

2 x Breakfast Wraps. Par Average, I was expecting it to be that magical even Stephen Hawking would have risen from the ashes and started walking again. But it tasted like a Macdonalds wrap if you ordered it from Wish, even though Maccys wraps are bigger and cheaper The end.

A great selection of food available & very tasty it is too. Unfortunately out of 8 of us 6 had cold breakfasts & barely warm coffee. Even the refill coffee we had after was just about warm. This happens quite often sadly as we go fairly regularly. It wasn't particularly busy at that point in the morning so it wasn't because of that. There is often no cutlery on the table & we have to ask for that. I'd still come regularly as the food selection especially for vegetarians is good & F+B's give plenty on the plate. The pancakes : I'm sure you used to get more on them too... Service & staff however always great & friendly.

Usually very good, however when its busy they cannot cope. Food cold, very little room, serious lack of high chairs for children. Hit and miss really.

Seated and served very quickly. The waitress was really friendly and attentive, also very considerate given the kids were lively. Food was very tasty and well cooked. Really reassuring to know there is a nice site down alternative to the golden arches that we can trust to feed the family when we need it.

On 2 occasions people in my party have ordered from the set price menu but have been charged from the regular menu, put an additional £40 on the bill for a party of 12. We didn't pick this up until we had paid and left and then during a lunch time visit it happened again, same waitress! Put an extra £10 on our bill. Very disappointed.

Sadly a bit too loud with other diners..sometimes having to speak loudly to be heard..food nice though

We took our family for breakfast 3 adults and 4 children , 4 year old twin boys and a 11 year old and a 13 yr old

Enjoyed a spur of the minute dinner with my son. We shared a feast platter of steak, ribs, chicken strips and chips. Bloody delicious and plenty of food to share.

Food was OK as you expect from F&B

A restaurant perfect to have lunch or dinner with friend or with family, lovely drinks, especially the variety of cocktails. Also a good place to spend your birthday, makes you feel special , singing a song for your birthday. Staff are very efficient, helpfull , even when you want to chose your meal, always smiling and good serving.

Oh dear what has happened to Frankie and Benny's. Had a very disappointing visit today and the service was a joke. 25mins to get a drink 40mins to get our starter . Won't be visiting ever again , absolutely no atmosphere,used to love the oldies music being played and the previous decor.

Used to regularly dine here but after today will not be returning! Our server was SO RUDE food god forgotten and when we got it was stone cold, then overheard staff saying it was out fault! Awful awful service

Server was pleasant and well timed. However my Black and Blue burger was just that. Black. Bacon and burger so burnt all I could taste was charcoal. Cheese was dropped on after and not melted at all. Very average at best.

Stopped for lunch it wasn't very busy but the drinks took forever as the waiter was chatting at the bar ,and only came over when we caught his eye. My lasagne arrived very well over done In fact the pasta was burnt on the top as well as underneath ,and they had tried to cover it up with extra sauce. However I sent it back as I couldn't eat it, so they cooked me a fresh one which was lovely and I enjoyed it ,despite my family having finished their main course. They didn't charge me for my lasagne on the bill.,but I just wanted it right first time.

Service was good and food was good however I was concerned with the amount of flies buzzing around the restaurant, the kitchen and even in the toilets! I questioned it with a waitress and she shrugged her shoulder and said she will ask her manager about it. I came out of there feeling disgusting.

Lovely black and blue burger, very good service and pricing was fair. The only issue was handing a young child a hot baked bean bowl. Did produce a birthday cake and played happy birthday over the tannoy which made it even more special

Went here tonight waiter was rude very abrupt food was mediocre and over priced . Toilets ladies were disgusting I said to a staff member on the way out and they didn't seem that bothered

It was a suprise birthday event. The restaurant, food and staff were perfect.

Service was excellent waitress very polite and helpful, food served at a reasonable time limit, it was hot and plentiful. The atmosphere was a bit dull

Came to F&Bs as was advised the breakfasts are something special. Sadly, came on a Monday and unfortunately breakfast is only available Friday to Sunday so had to come back later in the well. But well worth it. Food was well put together and those who like hash browns will like their potato tots. Service was prompt and pleasant and had a christmassy feel to it. Made for a pleasant experience.

I just discovered there is a new menu at Frankie and Benny’s and I really loved tasting their new meat platter and the beans were delicious! Rebecca , our server made the evening even more enjoyable with her smile and good vibes! The children were thrilled with their brownies!

F&B's in Stanway, Colchester is fantastic. The food is great, the staff are great, the music is brilliant. Most F&B's are good but this place is simply one Lee above. They make allowances for my, and my kids, sensory issues, make us feel welcome every time, any problems are solved, everyone is just lovely here. Go, you wont be disappointed!

W ordered pizza and Rebeca was a great help when choosing toppings .She goes above and beyond just to make sure the clients are happy.The desert recommended by the server was perfect! had brownies

We regularly have breakfast here every week, always nice. Atmosphere is nice, the staff are always welcoming and freindly . Not just breakfast but dinners are great. Value for money , the range is great.

Adverage! Not bad, but not great. Food was ok, it was good place to take the kids as was relaxed. And good gluten free options But overall, just adverage food really. Would I go back....yeah, for a relaxed no frills meal. Not enough staff to cater for the tables to, which slowed things down a touch. Plus, for desert, apple crumble. Which came out direct from the fridge....no heat.... weird!!!

I hated the service it was awful took 2 hours to arrive and it was just the starters! I’m not satisfied this is not lush 🫠 Only one good server with ponytail. I am disgraced and disappointed I only wanted food now and to enjoy my birthday with my best friend not happy and very unsatisfactory.
