We came here as we've eaten plenty of times at other restaurants and to say it was disappointing is an understatement. We were seated pretty quickly, starter delivered pretty quickly and tasted nice but then ... a 45-50 minute wait for our main meal. When it finally arrived, my partners food was OK at best but mine, the mac and cheese with N'duja was overpowered with what tasted like chilli powder and no flavour. They offered to replace it but since I'd already been sat there nearly an hour, I didn't want to wait any longer. I asked our server what the N'duja consisted of and she was clueless. I asked at the kitchen counter and they said some kind of sausage paste. There was no meat at all in it cuz it tasted like it'd been sprinkled with chilli powder. I expected a lot more from this place since I've travelled all over the country eating at these restaurants and was sadly let down.

All good, Bolognese could have been hotter in temperature and the free pizza for GCSE results had run out we were told ( first 50 customers only ) I must have missed the small print. The atmosphere was good and we had a good time.

Haven't been to Frankie & Benny's in years so was quite excited for this visit. Food was OK at best, service from staff disappointing - they all seemed like they didn't want to be there.

Really disappointed with our visit on 11th July, we had to flag someone down to order a drink after 15 minutes, and again to order our food. service was extremely slow, none of our plates were cleared between courses and no one checked on how our food was. Each time we wanted another drink or or order another course we had to flag a colleague down. We waited 45 minutes between starter and main. We were sat on a small table of four and by the time we finished our mains the table was full of plates due to starter plates not being cleared. We asked one colleague if we could order drink and food and they said “no I’m clearing tables” and we waiting another chunk of time for someone to come over to us. Really disappointed and wouldn’t be returning in a hurry. If the place was very busy I’d understand but it wasn’t particularly busy so unsure what the issues tonight were.

Staff lovely, food over priced..half rack of ribs were 3 pieces, cold & hardly any sauce but a big mound of chips to make plate look 'full' to be honest very disappointed and won't go there any time soon.

First time I've been here in a few years, used to come here as a teenager with my parents and 4 brothers but won't be back in a hurry. Went as a family of 3 and arrived at 18:00 and expected to wait a little as we hadn't booked, they managed to get us sat at a table within 10 mins which was pretty good. Waitress came over and we ordered drinks then said she'd be back to take our order for our food, came back about 10 mins later and took our food order, and drinks still hadn't arrived, starters came out about 10 mins later and we mentioned the drinks situation so she apologised and brought them straight over, we ate our starters and then had to wait about 45 mins, we were on the verge of just paying for our starters and drinks but then our mains came out, I had ordered the Calzone and my Wife had the full rack of ribs, the ribs were really dry with no sauce on them at all and when I asked if we could have some BBQ sauce the waitress said they would have to charge us for the sauce...she only ate half as she said they were just too dry and not that nice. First time I've ever been told there would be a charge for BBQ sauce, if you went to Harvester you get all the sauces you want for free!

On arriving only given a main menu, not offered a lunchtime menu which was cheaper, had to ask for it. Children eat free during half term with a paying adults meal but only if you the customer tell the server otherwise you don't get it, this is not advertised in house - very sneeky!! Poor customer service, when pointed out why I had been charged for the kids meal after I asked for the offer, server rude. Refund given but have to wait 5 days for it to be returned. Overall Poor experience, slow service and warm food, would not recommend.

Hadn’t been for many years, used to take the children quite often and always had an enjoyable time. However we certainly we not return after our last visit! Family of 9 refused alcohol for 2 20 year olds due to no proof of age, I had pictures of passports but was not acceptable, with it being a family meal 1 alcoholic drink is usually allowed with a meal over the age of 14? We accepted the rule 🙄. Food was very expensive and very blah. We just stayed for main and 1 drink and not our usual starters/main and pudding and more drinks, we just wanted to leave. Standards have slipped massively, with the high prices you would expect better quality.

Food was ok but customer service was first class. Waiting staff were really attentive and seemed to have fun at work which really added to our experience

We got in and the service was quick and it felt extremely welcoming, we proceeded to order our food. Food came and portion sizes were amazing until i took a bite of my lasagna and it was cold. I waited to see if it’d just cooled down around the outside until i got to the middle and again cold. We told the manager about the situation and she was understanding and asked if we would like a new meal we politely declined as i lost my appetite. To sum everything up service was great but food was poor.

Called in as a spur of the moment treat for my two children. Food was not worth the money - I had the hot dog which cost £12, I could’ve made it for less by shopping at aldi. A cold tinned hotdog with a sprinkling of crispy onions in a brioche bun and a handful of fries. Overpriced and horrible! The only good thing was the service provided by Tom P, very helpful, friendly and conscientious. Doubt I would return. £56 for overpriced, microwaves food.

I was passing by one morning and decided to pop in for breakfast. I had the Beef Brisket Hash and southern baked beans from the special menu. I loved it. Service was warm and welcoming chatting away with me while I was deciding between items, I was asked as my drinks were getting low if I wanted a refill which the waitress then kept on top of as I was enjoying my meal. I truly enjoyed my breakfast and will likely be popping in some afternoon for the rest of the menu.

I vowed never to go back here after my last visit but a few years on I did and then wished I had taken my advice. I paid £50 for two small meals which were called dirty dogs. Nothing was hot enough, the hot dogs fell apart and the toppings were like globs of pulled pork with cheese but looked yuk. My desert was a waffle with bananas cream and icecream but was stone cold so no warmth coming through to the chocolate sauce. It was awful. I would be ok with it if I had paid £20 but £50 for this trash was unbelievable. Never again. I have finally learned my lesson. I will say the staff were pleasant enough but all looked bored and the atmosphere could do with warming up. Why this place is still here is beyond me.

Wow what a dreadful experience, at first I had gf bolognese, where was the beef mince no flavour, no sauce?. Then the second attempt at a burger no tomatoes no onions just lettuce, wow I always thought that when you make a burger it would come with all the trimmings. My wife had their macaroni cheese...it was basically a dry cream sauce and no cheese.

Our favourite Frankie and Benny’s live in Merthyr Tydfil travel to Nantgarw always a warm welcome Staff very accommodating and nothing to much bother Thank you .

Fantastic welcome and service from Tayha. We were very grateful that the team fitted our party of 22 in and were so welcoming. Foot excellent and our young people enjoyed their lunch.

3 family met up there and when ordering wanted to keep the bills separate, but was told no they can have it all together then sort it out later. Food was ordered but the chips was warm and mushrooms was cold.no one came back to check if the meals was ok and couldn't get anyone attention as there were further away from the table. When we had the bill they had the cheek to put a further service charge of 10% which was £24 because it was 10 people. We already said we wanted 3 separate bills when ordering and was told no and that explained why. We didn't even get a good service. Wont be going there again, it may you think how may people have they done this to when they not checked they bill. But they told us after we didn't have to pay it if we didn't want too so we didn't .

Gave feedback the chillies weren’t cooked as they were hard and heard the cook swear loudly! ( the onions were not cooked properly either). Really disappointed. The women’s toilets smelt awful as well. The Fanta drink wasn’t right, my daughter complained and ended up having to go to the bar to get a fresh drink, whilst they took the price of drinks off at no time an apology . Won’t go again.

Always used to eat here when we were at the local college - food is still great but now with plenty more options for vegans and vegetarians. Had a really lovely breakfast - which was massive, so great value for money. Our waitress was Kiah, who was super friendly and very helpful :-)

Was at Frankie and Bennys on Wednesday night for a family birthday meal. Had a great time and there is plenty of choice on the menu, especially for fussy kids! We were served by Caitlin who brought out the cake on request and couldn’t do enough for us! Will defiantly be back, thank you!

Very disappointed with the overall experience. Staff were pleasant and our waitress was very helpful but we had to wait almost an hour for our food and then had to send one plate back because some of the food was cold.The last time we had been there the atmosphere was good- American/Italian music in the background and Italian style service. Today it could have been any diner.There was only one of the ladies’ toilets working - one toilet was blocked and another cubicle lacked a lock.

Absolutely shocking experience. Attended for a child’s birthday party, The welcoming was warm, always a good start...little did we know that it were only going to go downhill from there.

Met my wife from work as we had a Groupon voucher for two courses for two people which cost £19.99. We were seated early after having a drink at the bar and Joe introduced himself as our waiter. As they had a big party in he asked if we knew what we wanted as he could get our order in quick so we did not have to wIt long, top service. The burgers were fabulous as was the dessert that followed all served with a smile.

What can I say ! After waiting over an hour for our meals , not to mention having to remind the staff about ordered drinks . When the at best luke warm food eventually arrived most had to be returned I imagine to be warmed up . The Returned steak we were told would take 15 minutes or more to cook !, a chicken wrap took absolutely ages . Presentation on the plate was rubbish almost thrown on . Drinks forgotten .. a total shambles , poor quality for the prices they charge . I could be slightly more sympathetic if the place were busy , but it isn’t..... yes I’m writing this while I’m still here just in case I need to add anymore . Never again !!!! 1 out of 10

Fabulous meal and a great night out again. Always lucky to get served by the lovely Aisha who always looks after us! She always goes above and beyond! She recommended my new favourite dessert, the hot cookie! Will be back for more.

Odd one this. I always have a feeling of dread when the kids ask to go.....everything feels very sticky and grubby and the thought of a mountain of food on the plate. It is never as bad as I expect (Yes everything is sticky!). But with a birthday on Jan 1st in the family options are limited.

Restaurant was very busy so I can appreciate that the staff were rushed off their feet, but it seemed to be hectic! They were also low on stock so we had to change our original order, but we were then told we could have it as long as we were happy to have some different ingredients. Not a brilliant start but didn’t let it bother us. Had to ask for our drinks as we still hadn’t received them even though we ordered them as soon as we sat down. When our food arrived it was cold and mine had some peas in it by mistake???? We were so tired and hungry we didn’t want to complain, we just wanted to leave. Other than that our waiter was lovely, but unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Like all F&Bs;, the menu is good but pricey, and this place gets very busy meaning you need to occasionally wait to be seated and expect lengthier waiting times for food.

There service at this restaurant is very good, we attending as a party of 8 people.

Met up with the girls for our annual Christmas get together and was blessed with Jade (first shift back after 2years away) as a server. She was fantastic, attentive, personable and extremely customer focused and made our annual visit a joy.

Came here for food with my boyfriend. The food was great but the service was amazing. We got served by caitlin. She introduced herself to start with when taking the drinks order. I asked her for a recommendation and she told me the best drink to order so I went with that and it was lovely. She knew alot about the food and drinks and that helped alot as I'm fussy. Very friendly girl and would be back!!

Really enjoyed the visit and so did the kids. I came in yesterday day time with my wife and kids. The service was quite quick considering it was busy. The kids loved it because a short blonde waitress came over and gave them colourings. They were so well behaved. We all ordered food with our waitress think her name was caitlin. We don't drink alochol but the soft drinks were great. Food was yummy I had spaghetti bolgenese and the kids had kiddie meals. My wife had a salad and then we all had a dessert to end the meal. Caitlin was very patient with my little boy as he has ADHD and can be quite loud and hyperactive. Wonderful experience food, drinks and service we loved it.

We came here yesterday for some food and we really enjoyed. Our server Alex Allen was really friendly, helpful and made sure that we were well catered for, he made our visit really special. I would definitely recommended going and if you go be sure to ask to be served by Alex.

Frankie & Benny's may have been a hit in the 1950's in New York, but in 2019 in Nantgarw it's a big FAIL!

Waited 20 minutes to order and then I had to call someone over. Food then arrived but no drinks. Told waitress that our drinks still hadn’t arrived, so she said she’d re-order. Also told her we had no cutlery to eat food. Still no cutlery arrived, she clearly forgot as she was reordering drinks, so had to ask another waitress. Just really, really disorganised and not attentive to the customer at all. Food arrived and thankfully it was good. Then had to ask for bill and no one came back with a card machine. So had to queue at desk. Such a shame as it’s a lovely restaurant, just need better staff working there.

We had a booking of 16. Food arrived cold and had to send back. Quality of food was terrible and portions small for the price. Waited fo 30mins for sweet to arrive only to be told they had forgot order.

Went there on a Saturday night. Had the house burger. It was literally a burger and a small jar of chips - no garnish, coleslaw, salad or anything..it was luke warm ...and it cost £11!

Thank you Caitlin for making our quick meal out a lovely experience. Despite the delay in the kitchen you did your best to chase up our meal and kept us topped up with drinks.

Visited here last night and enjoyed everything about my visit. Food was delicious and good value for money on the super deal we chose to have. Quick and efficient service from Amy who was great with the kid and helpful with drink selections. Will visit again. Super tasty amazing yummy pasta dishes.

Would just like to thank Leanne and her amazing staff at Frankie and Benny's, they really did make my parents anniversary special. The waiter Darius was very attentive and made sure we had what we wanted and more. Food was very tasty and filling. Highly recommend and have already booked for breakfast in December.

Visited with my mother for what I thought would be a quick Monday night bite to eat before the cinema. Waited 10 minutes in a queue at the door whilst one member of staff rushed around with seemingly no one else serving. Had to wait a further ten minutes for our order to be taken and fifteen minutes for two drinks to be delivered. 40 minutes and no sign of our meals so asked the waitress and she informed us it was on its way. Another ten minutes passed and we just told her we had to leave to which she replied "I'll cancel your order then" as if it hadn't even been prepared yet! Will never go back, shocking.

I visited the restaurant for a birthday meal with my mum. Our waitress Francesca was wonderful. She made us feel very welcome and could not do enough. Great customer service. A great variety of food on the menu for vegan and vegetarian dinners. I could not finish my pizza so was given a box to take away. Portions were supberb and service was quick.

Visited today and had a lovely quiet lunch. Service was great, food was lovely. Overpriced usually but we took advantage of 2-4-1 Meerkat meals so food was good for the price!

After visiting the Nantgarw restaurant, the service and food was a lot to be desired. After ordering drinks, the wait was in my opinion excessive and the glasses looked dirty. The food took ages to come and out of 13 meals ordered, 2 had to returned as1 was cold, and the second a medium cooked steak came back as well overdone. The wait again was excessive as the manager stated that the replacement steak would only take 10mins. It actually took nearly half hour, whereby most people in the party had finished their meals. I would not recommend the particular restaurant for a good experience,

Francesca has served us on many occasions and never fails to make us feel welcome. The Nashville Hot Wings are consistently fantastic, I’ve yet to find better.

Meals weren't enough to fill you up..food was cold....waiting 50 minutes... very expensive..5 times in an hour they played flipping happy birthday and turned lights of so you couldn't see what you were eating used phone torch in the end...oh make that 6 time now aaarrrggg

We just popped down to F&B;’s on the off chance we’d get a table.

Came here today group of 4 adults one child. Considering this is a chain restaurant the service was so so so so bad. Shown to table with elderly grandmother and toddler that was up on a high booth which was awkward (restaurant was empty) but we accepted and squashed in. Took 25 mins to give a drink order- which at that point we’d chosen our meals and ordered them too. Ordered a small starter of garlic bread to share- took an hour before it even came!!!! Nice enough when it did come but how is it possible in an almost empty restaurant to take that long to make some cheesy garlic bread. Eventually it came. Mains took another 20 mins!!!! When they did come they forgot one of the mains and a side so had to wait for it to be made, before we even started everything was then cold. Staff couldn’t care less about poor service. Literally it was like watching a bunch of teenagers at a social event. One of the bar staff sat eating their burger which clearly took priority over the customers food! This is a chain!!!! How can the service be so poor! It was quiet and they obviously had just once chef on ...but it’s a Sunday..... again surely a big chain like this have agency staff???? Oh another point I feel I have to add - they brought out several dirty plates.... which had to be returned. Puts you off before you even start. Disgusting. Toilets absolutely bogging. Dirty. Blocked. Smelly. Many children eat here ... surely this can’t be right? I did not see one manager in the 2.5 hours it took us to get through the meal. Total bill was £60....... which is fine but the service and the cleanliness meant we probably should of gone to McDonald’s for better service, better value for money and cleanliness. Trying to add a positive the food was nice. So I feel this is more of a service issue and incompetent staff, no leader, no order or organisation... won’t be returning for a long time.

Took my mother here for a late breakfast/brunch recently. No specified disabled parking spaces outside the restaurant but not a major issue as it was quiet. Greeted and invited to pick our own seat, quickly had menus brought to us and the drinks options were explained (unlimited now only applies to Americano or Tea). My mother asked for a combination not on the menu and they were happy to help out, I ordered the big breakfast which was well-presented, well cooked and delicious (actually too much and I didn't finish it all).

Came here today with the family and It was shocking, had to wait 30 minutes for a table even tho there was loads of empty tables! After being seated it took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive, Waitresses were lovley and very helpful but the chef needs replacing, spaghetti bol was child sized had to ask for a bigger portion and then it was bland you would think being Italian restaurant this would be the best dish there but no!, then the mixed grill was awful bland chicken, and the ribs was burnt so bad it was covered with a sauce to disguise this! When I complained we did have money taken off the bill but not good enough really as when you go out for food and spend £60+ you expect to be amazing food, so wont go again very disappointing

The service is good but that is where it ends, A tradional breakfast or should I rename the small of small breakfasts, for over £6 it is very poor, they use to do unlimited coffee which made it worth while but not anymore, Kids breakfast's are nearly £5. The food is average. I know you pay more at Franky and Benny's but for a while I have been to Morrisons and you get so much more for your money for a breakfast and a adult meal gives you a free kids meal, I am not normally a person to whinge but you are getting overpriced and don't forget you pay tip you can decline but would feel slightly uncomfortable but if there is 10 or more of you then it is in your bill which you can't decline. I know where I will and won't be going next time.

Absolute rip off! The wait on food is terrible and when it finally comes out the portion sizes are as small as kids sizes. Definitely not worth the money. Won't be going back.

We visited early July and we were served by Francesca, she’s was amazing from start to finish, very well mannered and was willing to help my girlfriend who is a vegetarian. It was a family occasion which she noticed and wasn’t too overwhelming which was nice. We will be back in the near future for sure!

Well what can I say me and 4 other family members came for food well you can’t really call it food. Pizza was dripping with grease. The portions are shocking for the price don’t get me started about the burger the bun was double the size of the actual burger patty the only nice thing was the chips but we only had about half of a potato between usabsolutely would not recommend better off going to the McDonald’s next door
