Frangoz in Calderdale

Very disappointed with my seek kebab crust pizza ,paid £3 extra for kebab crust and got about 6 tiny little pieces approx size of sweetcorn in my 12" Pizza crust where in tge past there would be approx 40-50 pieces where every crust slice would have kebab , in my pizzas some slices of crust didn't even have any kebab in there , I have taken pictures ofnthe crust open so you can see. I will try and add it here but usually when I do my review is then hidden so I will also put it on the main photo section on frangoz Google page. By the way i dont belive the chef made a mistake it was either laziness or done on purpose. If he forgot to put it in completely then I could assume it was done in error . Not happy

Great Food & Service.. Well Worth A Visit..

Staff is so rude specially the guy that takes orders. They don’t take card payments so had to go get the cash to place the order it’s 2024 every shop using card payment device it’s think about still 1966. Came here as was recommended by a friend but I was a really disappointing experience. Upstairs sitting area is so dirty. Food tastes dry. Avoid this place

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this time I feel like I have to… Very disappointing take away. My burger didn’t match up to its description. Bread on my burger was stale and the chicken was dry. Burger was missing the cheese sauce and I had mayo on instead. Chips were also very stale. No real flavour to anything. Not worth the money and a very long wait for delivery. Definitely didn’t feel great the next morning either and I suspect it was the food. Glad I couldn’t eat it all. I doubt I’d order again.

Food is so bad! Wrap is mid. Burger is just a smaller version of the default burgers from the other shops right next door. PIZZA IS OUTRAGES. Crazy

Illiterate person on phone . Doesn’t understand orders and when make errors in order, blames customers or drivers.

I would advise against ordering food from this establishment. I have ordered food twice from them now, both times it has taken over two hours to deliver my order. The service is absolutely substandard. They forget what I've ordered and fail to deliver on time.

Disappointed at the service received yesterday. Went into Frangoz to grab some lunch for me and my wife. Upon entering I asked the staff member behind the till for a menu (there are screens above but they only have a few menu items on them), I was told the menu is online. No here's a link to it, scan this QR code, just it's online. I tried to load the menu after searching for it but the signal in the shop was poor as it didn't load on either of our phones. We were frustrated at the lack of a menu or any help to find the menu so we ended up walking out and going to Mr T's instead (where they have both a physical menu and full menu on the screens). Very disappointed as I've had food from Frangoz in the past and it has been good. I won't be buying from here again. Your lack of customer service has lost you customers. Also your food hygiene rating doesn't make me want to eat here again.

Sorry , more like 2oz paper thin and tasted like leather Was really hungry that day and waited about 40 minutes and when it arrived was extremely disappointed The owner was kind enough to offer a portion of wings on the house because of the delay Sorry

Rubbish place Order spicy fillet burger which as you can see from picture came just empty just bun with salad mayo etc When I call the restaurant they couldn’t give a dam about my order and didn’t do anything to resolve this problem Been going here few months spend about 100£ a week but every time I order something is always wrong and they never sort it out My advice stay away Very poor customer service rubbish rubbish rubbish rude staff will never use again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone 😡 looking at some other reviews I think most people agree with me and having similar problems poor service poor quality food sky high prices idiots

I got 2 burgers and the chicken had a bad smell (it was off) never again. I tried to ring them but they didn't pick up the phone.

If you want your food 3 hours later then sure go ahead and order, waste of time don’t bother plenty of better places in Halifax that actually answer the phone.

I went into the shop and i ordered and I had to wait for 20 mins as i was told after 20 mins i went back to collect the food and i was told to wait and an hour and a half later i had recieved my order and they was speaking in a rude tone

Surprisingly better than the 2 branches in bradford. Spicy fillet burger was alot more enjoyable and more generous with their chips. Pink lemonade was lovely too and cheap for £1.50

Our pizza was a piece of art. Loaded fries - yummy. Nachos fresh and crunchy just the way they should be. Even the design of boxes looks awesome. Great experience! Keep up the good work, guys!

Food was banging the best chicken strips I've had in a while, lovely place to eat in, very clean and inviting. Only thing crappie is they don't take payment by card, which is so annoying, also did not have a menu asked me to look online menu. Will definitely visit again and hopefully will have some menu's made by then...

We like the roast chicken peri peri of this place very much,but takes long time for delivery for any item ordered Sent wrong delivery ,when called them the staff is asking me to chill out and disconnected the call ,I think staff are very rude

Tried to charge us Uber eats prices when we went into the building to pay. Avoid dodgy place.... Menu says £4.79 and they charge me £6.50

I’ve been going to Frangoz since I was a little kid and they are still one of the best places to this day. The staff are always so kind and they always have the best selection of food in. 100% will recommend to people. Such an amazing place

Experience of Frangoz. It's my second visit to Frangoz. I find this place a cosy warm small two-story restaurant( ground and first floor). They have a wide variety of items listed on their menu. Their staff was humble, polite and nice. I asked them “What's their speciality? To which they replied “ Our burgers and pizza”. I decided to have one Peri Peri Chicken Salad and Beefy Fries with Coca-Cola. They told me to sit upstairs. That I thought to be healthy and filling. The dining place is clean and tidy. The interior colour scheme is warm and warm lighting in it. Their waiter brought the food within 5 minutes with a napkin and spicy sauce. Food Review. Waiting time was small. The quality of Beefy Fries and Perri Perri Chicken was amazing. The meat and mice were cooked to perfection. The quality of the vegetables was also great. It seemed saucy but not too much. The flavour is mild and spicy. I pretty much liked it. The cost of food items was 10.88£. I also ordered Coca-Cola for 1.29 £. Beefy Fries: Fries were cheezy and saucy which goes well with minced Beef. The serving was good. Peri Chicken Salad could also be served with rice but I opted for salad. I liked it more. The chicken was tasty and the salad's vegetable was fresh. It was made of spicy chicken, iceberg, bell peppers tomato. It tasted good with the spicy sauce they served. I enjoyed both of the items, with zero food wastage. Cons. The sink for the hand wash was upstairs and had only quite hot water. Frangoz is ‘cash only’ when dining in. They still have the old menu and prices are increased by 1£ for the items that I ordered. Their portion is normal. Conclusion: Certainly, I’ll be going to this place again to try their burgers, wraps, lamb chops, steaks and pizzas.

Don’t waste your money. The menu prices are not the actual prices so don’t be fooled, you end up paying much more. I ordered several items, one being a peri burger and asked for no Mayo, after waiting for half an hour, I checked my burger to find it was covered in Mayo, cheese and salad. I then had to wait 10 minutes for another, to get home and find they’d just scraped the Mayo off and left a lot of it on. These kind of establishments don’t surprise me, majority of other places make you another but these people don’t care. The food was poor in quality and taste. Best tasting item was my pot of beans. Nothing worse than wasting money on a naff takeaway.

Ordered a BOGOF chicken and chips yet it cost £6.99. So I questioned the worker how is this BOGOF as the normal 2 PC chicken price is £2.99-£3.50. Anyway his bogus reply was you get 2 drinks free that are worth £2 and free sauce. To that I would say keep the drinks and the sauce and give me the chicken. You buy one meal you get the other free it's not a hard concept. Also ordered a pizza and it was cold so not impressed with the service and again prices have changed yet they still advertise old prices on the brochure.

New to the area ordered food Food was ok somethings better than others The Did fall short in the following areas 1) one of the guys at the counter was too busy on the phone on a private call instead of Serving customers When customers come in full concentration should be on greeting them and serving them. 2) No card Machine 3) Drinks were not that cold I think they are nice people and can do better

Ordered some food. In app said will be delivered in 25 min. After 35 min it said already delivered, but I didn't received any phone call from driver or ordered meal. I called to Frangoz to sort this problem. They said I suppose to call Uber eat drivers and sort it by myself. That's ridiculous! Try to do refund, they refunded only meal cost, but not delivery cost. NEVER EVER ORDERED AGAIN and HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND to others.

Didn't like food, took over an hour to collect when they said 25 minutes on the phone. Plus, they gave the wrong food that I didn't asked so had to back again.

Food was good but when it came out they set it to the side and gave it to me five minutes later. Then when taking food out the cheap paper bag ripped making me lose one entire meal. Not a nice experience.

*ZERO STARS - DISGUSTING* 🤮🤢 Bought a royal chicken bucket. The chicken pieces all had hair on them. The chicken was reheated and soggy batter....tasted off and smelt. Called up to complain the staff can't speak English and tried to act clever to avoid dealing with the complaint. I had to go to the shop and the staff were aggressive and swore to me refusing to accept that the chicken was old and off with chicken hair all over it. They refused to give a refund...we all work hard for our money and deserve to have good quality food however this place is disgraceful. Refused to refund my money argued with me said they can only offer a refund of half of the value of the items I purchased. They reluctantly wanted to refund my money. Aggressive staff This place needs reporting to Calderdsle Council - Food Hygiene department. You will end up sick with food poisoning 🤒 🤮🤢 A normal reputable place would accept the fact the food is off and not to acceptable le standard and refund or provide customer with an alternative. However THIS PLACE DIDNT DO ANYTHING. Name and shame the bad food places Name and shame the agreessive staff REPORT THIS PLACE TO COUNCIL FOOD HYGENIE TOO. This is not acceptable.

This used to be my favourite chicken shop locally, so last time we had to take my chicken back to have them make it again, (almost breaking my teeth on rock solid coating) once forgiven. Here we are again!! Just ditched the latest meal due to the same issue. Coated chicken Rock hard and dry as a bone like its been re heated. All I can taste is celery powder or some similarly overpowering seasoning. Didn't bother returning this time and we won't visit again.

We went to this place during the week when it was quiet, nobody sat upstairs only us. After ordering food which i had to call someone for after wating 10 mins felt like they had been ignoring me and more bothered about getting just eat orders out. After waiting half an hour for food it came and one of the items were wrong we ordered with stir fry donner with chips but came with rice. We mentioned it and they said can we bring you some chips. Getting a simple order wrong when no one else is there. Deffo not going back

Frangoz generally Great, my only concern menu states £8.99 for the Flame Grilled Mixed Grill.. Yet when u go to pay its actually £11.99 as price gone up but menus not amended.. I'm sorry but not impressed simple

Gone downhill ! Honestly used to be a great place to get a takeout but as times gone on and they have got the business they’ve just got worse and worse. I remember a while back we ordered burger meals and few spicy and 1-2 non spicy when collecting the order got to the car and realised all meals were spicy went back in and the guy serving said well who’s allergic to spice !! Really ?! Really ?! Shame as they have a lot more competition with takeaways on the same street.

The food was really nice, well prepared, and very cost effective for the amount of food I ordered. It was very tasty and still warm after I placed the order and drove home about 10 mins away. Service was polite, efficient and it was very busy for takeaway deliveries and also for collection, and people were still eating in the restaurant part as well. Overall I would rate this establishment 4.5/5. (Genuine review from a paying customer, no affiliation with the establishment).

A fast food place that has arguably some of the best food in Halifax. However, time management in a place that is designed to provide food quickly is essential and unfortunately this place does not have this. If you call to order, don’t be fooled into thinking this will speed up your order as it will not. Definitely takes the shine off this well-known food establishment and now means I will not be returning here.

DISGUSTING FOOD 🤮 - AVOID AT ALL COSTS - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE This place doesn't even deserve the 1 star but no option to give 0 stars... I visited Frangoz on the 5/11/22 after a few years with my family and had one of the worst dining experiences ever! On arrival we went upstairs to the dining area and found it was empty to which I was very surprised as in the past this place was always busy. Visited the toilet which had a door that you couldn't close properly or lock. We ordered the loaded box meal x 2, 2 x butterfly chicken steak meals and a chicken parmesan. The meals don't come with drinks so they were ordered separately. Total cost was around £47. On the menu they have all sorts of drinks advertised, I asked for j20 and was told they only have the carbonated drinks. The chicken steak meals arrived in tin foil containers and plastic cutlery. Chicken was 2 tiny pieces of chicken breast, lukewarm and overcooked and really really dry and had a funny smell to it. Mash wasn't too bad but wasn't hot, seemed like it had been reheated in a microwave. The steamed veg that came with it didn't look very appetising either so I didn't try that. The loaded box meals wasn't any better either. My daughter took a bite of her chicken burger and noticed it was pink inside. I didn't get a pic of this as there was a member of staff nearby who took it away as soon as I mentioned it and it was replaced with another burger which wasn't much better - pic attached of the replaced burger. The chicken burger was really dry and hardly edible. In the end we left most of our meals and left frangoz still hungry. I ended up getting pizzas on my way home for the kids from a trusted takeaway. We have all had severe stomach cramps and a bad stomach too. I didn't throw up probably as I hardly ate any of my meal but all other members of my family were sick too. Like I said earlier, I visited after a few years and the food used to be some of the best around - NOT ANYMORE! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT FOOD POISONING

NEVER give out the correct change. If it’s £9.99, they’ll take a tenner. If it’s £4.99, expect them to ask for £5 and pocket the fiver. The menu will say £4.99, the receipt will say £4.99 but your pocket will be £5 lighter. I hate this kind of deceit. If you want to charge £5, just charge it. Why the deceit? It’s immoral and wrong on principal.
