Very nice place and great staff. It is a simple Mediterranean restaurant with very good food. It is definitely recommended.

Good range for vegetarians and reasonably priced early evening meal. Very attentive and polite service.

We went to Francela for my mums birthday meal recently. We had a lovely meal with brilliant service, and were then surprised with a candle in her dessert and the whole restaurant singing happy birthday for my mum. It was such an enjoyable meal, and we couldn’t have been looked after any better. Will definitely be back soon! Would recommend the baklava for dessert!

Very hurried impersonal experience. Nothing very bad to write but the whole dining experience was mediocre. We felt hurried along ,not relaxing at all . The food was nice ,but nothing special . Just a note …… The wine tasted like vinegar.!!!!

We celebrated my daughter’s wedding at Francela. Everything was just amazing. We got the freedom to decorate anyway we wanted. The team was super helpful and attentive, food was delicious and the atmosphere relaxed. We had a great time celebrating thanks to all the effort the team put in to make it extra special. We hadn't been for a while Yet again the food is great We had the Kefte started which was full of flavour Then onto mains with a. chargrilled lamb which was cooked soft on, succulent and again tasty. The Al Pepe was again so succulent and soft with lots of flavour The baklava dessert was a little disappointing as quite dry and also lacking much flavour The downsides were we were in and out in 1 hour with 3 courses !!! and in our experience it is too quick and it does feel rushed It also continues to be noisy due to the acoustics and both these aspects lose a star for us but again the food is very good

We had a wonderful (unplanned) lunch here on Saturday. Cheerful, attentive and welcoming staff, with that Mediterranean attention to detail and customer-focused attitude. Refreshingly unpretentious!! The food was excellent - I had Sea Bream, beautifully cooked, and my husband had a lovely chicken dish with a creamy pesto sauce which he loved. We shall return next time we visit B.St.E!

Small Mediterranean restaurant in the center of St Edmunds, run very well by a friendly gentleman. Turkish, Lebanese, Italian, Greek dishes. In short: a very welcome surprise at more than reasonable prices after a glut of fish and chips.

Went to celebrate my son’s birthday with my parents who love this place and I can tell why. Sal greeted us immediately and made sure we were looked after all night and made my son’s birthday a glorious occasion. Dinner was simply delicious (would love to recommend a dish but we had so many and all as good as each other) - BUT!!! hospitality was 100/10! Personale discreto e veloce. Ambiente semplice. Cibo fantastico di influenza turca, greca, italiana e libanese. Abbiamo provato un ottimo pollo al pesto, hummus, verdure, bistecche. Tutto perfetto. Forse la scelta delle birre è un po’ limitata.

Visited here for lunch during the week and had a lovely meal. We all had the lunch set menu (£21.95 for starter & main), everyone enjoyed enjoyed their food & despite being full most of us still found room for dessert. Great service & very friendly staff we will be returning again & have already recommended Francela to family.

Delicious experience, on a short holiday to Norfolk and Surrey we visited this restaurant for the second time in 2 years. The standard of service food was again spot on. Totally yummy food and great atmosphere all rounded off with aerretto. Can't recommend this restaurant enough!

On our cycling trip from the Netherlands to Bristol, we have found Francela. We could park our fully packed bikes in front of the restaurant and were immediately offered the table at the window to be able to have an eye on our bikes. We had a 2 course lunch: hummus and filo rolls, grilled vegetables and a veggie casserole as a main. It was very tasty, freshly prepared, staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered salted caramel tarte and coffee for dessert...satisfied, we got back on the bikes!

Returned to celebrate my partners birthday after having a great experience last year. We was equally impressed this time. The food was very tasty and service was very attentive. I would highly recommend a visit to this place for anyone wanting great European food at a reasonable prices.

We had another excellent meal and lovely evening at Francela to celebrate my Birthday. The early evening menu is very good, really tasty food. Very good wines. Yummy desert and they even put a candle in it for me 😁🥳 The complimentary amaretto and Turkish delight were the icing on the cake. Very attentive staff. Overall excellent. Never disappoints.

I took my dad here for Father’s Day and he absolutely loved it, the food was lovely and there was little to no waiting time. Staff were also very good.

Stopped here for lunch as the menu looked good and there was 30% of mains and a starter and we were not disappointed. A very friendly welcome, lovely atmosphere and with the sun shining and large window open we could have been abroad. The food was good, I had the whole sea bream, and if we lived closer I'm sure we would be regulars. Will definitely come again if ever we're back in Bury St Edmunds

We stumbled upon Francela while out celebrating my 60th birthday, and what a fantastic find it was! The special offer of 30% off a starter and main course caught our attention, and we were warmly greeted upon arrival. The menu offered a lovely variety of starters and mains, and the food we enjoyed was absolutely delicious, with generous portion sizes for the price. The only downside was the drinks were a bit pricey, with a 500ml beer costing £7.95. The service was outstanding; they even noticed it was my birthday and surprised me with a complimentary ice cream and candle. We couldn't finish all our meals, so they kindly provided us with a doggy bag to take home. To top it off, we were treated to complimentary liqueurs with the bill and given a lovely bottle of wine to take away! Francela is a charming family-run restaurant with a great selection of dishes and exceptional service. I highly recommend this place for a memorable dining experience!

We visited restaurant few weeks ago. The food is very tasty we enjoyed every little bit which we ordered. Staff is very welcoming. We were served by Erbil (apologies if spelled it wrong) who was extremely helpful, friendly and made us feel very comfortable. Our first visit to this restaurant after moving to the area, to celebrate my birthday. It was really lovely. The food was great and the service was outstanding. There were three of us and we all chose different things for each course, the calamari and lamb stood out but everything was good. My son gave me a gift in the restaurant and the waiter noticed and asked if it was my birthday (my husband hadn’t mentioned anything when booking the table). Not only did I get a complimentary desert with a candle and happy birthday sung to me, but also a bottle of wine to take away. I felt very spoilt and had fabulous evening. Had an excellent meal here last night for a family birthday. The food and service were outstanding. We all had starters which were all so delicious. We had someone who was gluten free who they catered very well for. And the gluten free bread was very nice. Main courses were all fantastic. Mixed grill was lovely all the meats were perfectly cooked. Again gluten free options were great and the staff were more than helpful. They brought out a cake and sang happy birthday and made our evening very special. Will definitely be coming back.

Food is nice but ridiculously overpriced for what it is. You are paying far more than the equivalent restaurant in London. £7.95 for a pint of Efes! I couldn’t believe these obscene prices.
